  1. Welcome to "Baldman"
  2. My core restraint was to build a brand new mario 3 game using the same object and enemy limits of every level that the original SMB3 devs used. Once I wrapped my head around that I could a build a whole new game and have minimal crashing [LUL, mario 3 loves to crash in both workshop and foundry.] I added new tech courtesy of many people from the SMB3 rom hacking community. We have On/Off Blocks, Power up storage like SMW [but even faster because vanilla smw storage is slow] Q.o.L. improvements like more aggresive chain chomps, a fixed bowser hitbox, hammer suit actually sliding, the ability to jump onto Kuribo Shoes to enter them, the angry sun on airships without graphics issues, and the aforementioned hammer suits actually killing koopalings, just to mention a few things. =]

  4. This is a "full" service hack. Almost every level has been altered, reworked, or completely nuked, moved somewhere else and/or rebuilt. I also threw some re-worked beta levels in there too. Just for you. yea you. the person reading this. =] (Real speedrunners will know know the vanilla levels that were untouched, and I hope they respect my choice for why.) There are also some overworld edits and additional items that allow for full exploration of everything. [I have to be honest here, I really didn't want to alter the overworld too much because trying to re-create perfection is really hard. I'd rather nod my fedora to them.] That's right, ALL mushroom houses, spade card games, etc. Everything can be accessed in one playthrough. There is also some very powerful skips to bypass multiple levels in certain places if you wanna go fast. =]

This was a long and arduous project [about 2 total years from concept to reality] that started as ideas i got when speedrunning and then as just a meme just to fix some graphics that the original graphics editors made for smashing pumpkins fans. [source: http://landslide.2007.org/games.htm, {this is why they get credit in the hack.}] As I started changing graphics, I got the the feeling we could build something special and unique. I took the ideas I had while speedrunning and then Borrowed styles, tech, & ideas from everywhere I was inspired. SMW hacks, SMB3 hacks, SMB 1 hacks, some of the most painful cheap garbage kaizo you've ever seen and yes, even mario maker. [I feel dirty even saying that but I have to say it.]

  8. I want to be crystal clear here, I'm not an ASM programmer and I know just enough to make the game break itself. If it wasn't for the the SMB3 rom hacking community propping me up, this would have never happened. There are too many names to put into the credits of the game and I apologize in advance if you didn't get proper credit.
