- Bivouac Sacks (Bivy Sacks) instead of tents:
- To save weight/room on the cheap you may consider a bivy sack instead of a tent. Bivy sacks are often paired with compact tarps, sometimes for ground sheet, sometimes for cover, sometimes for both.
- The biggest complaint that comes from using a bivy sack is the condensation due to lack of airflow. You don't want to be breathing into the sack itself at night.
