Light filters in from the passages, fitfully illuminating the knotwork pattern in the floor underfoot.  Somewhere, the dripping of water echoes through the twisting tunnels of the dark labyrinth.

Smoldering torches line the walls at varying points, the pitch creating a fuliginous haze throughout the area.  The floor is a glossy black amber, reflecting the light as it dances with a dizzying and unnatural shine.

You notice a small rat scurrying around the area.

You search around the area and find a wiry lab rat!  The lab rat scampers toward you and nuzzles your foot, quickly deciding you're its new owner.  As you reach for the rat, it scurries into a coarse burlap sack, which is the rat home.  You pick them both up, claiming your new pet.
