  1. Let's talk about my good friend, the office cafeteria. The first time I ever worked in a call center, we had one. Every day it was filled with overpriced, unhealthy options... Delicious vats of sweetened vegetables and fatty pasta suspended above infinitely burning cans of oil, heated for hours on end until the dining service would finally close for the night.

  3. I changed companies and the food became much better, fresh food that was catered twice a week by local businesses! Ah yes, fresh food. You know, donuts, pizza, sandwiches, bbq... Much better, right?

  5. At my current company, we also have a cafeteria. However, this time it's been very different for me. This time, I was able to pick out the healthy options right away. Every day, we have two varieties of soup available which are typically under 250cal for 12oz. There are always 2-3 varieties of hot vegetable sides, which you can buy by the ounce. Chicken breasts are always available as a protein. There are hard boiled eggs and quest bars you can buy -- and it turns out you can even get egg white omelettes.

  7. This morning, I didn't have enough time for to reheat my waffles for breakfast, so instead I packed up some fat free cheese and bacon crumbled, then headed to work for an egg white, spinach, pepper, and onion omelette. After my omelette was finished, I tossed on my cheese and bacon, then covered the plate they gave me with a second plate for a few minutes to melt my cheese onto it. I added a bit of sriracha/red pepper and thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast.

  9. Not everyone has the blessing (or curse) of an office cafeteria. But if you do have one, have you looked at the options lately? You might be surprised at just how much is there for you in places you never would have expected.
