  8. A flashlight shines across shipping containers. The light
  9. illuminates reflects off each one.

  11. DONOVAN PAULSEN, (30) walks through a dim warehouse, a
  12. flashlight in hand. He has an AR slung around the front of
  13. him. He wears a pair of jeans. A tan plate carrier sits over
  14. a white button up shirt.
  15.  
  16. The bags on Don's eyes show through the dim light. He wears
  17. an earpiece.
  18.  
  19. The radio comes to life as MARCUS MATTHEWS, (34) keys his
  20. microphone.
  21.  
  22. MARCUS
  23. (earpiece)
  24. All teams, radio check.
  25.  
  26. MICHAEL CHAVEZ, (24) keys his radio.
  27.  
  28. CHAVEZ
  29. Alpha one, check.
  30.  
  31. PAUL CARTER, (25) keys his microphone.

  36. Marcus lets off a sigh into the radio.

  43. CONRAD MILLER, (28) keys his microphone.

  48. Don yawns. He meets back up with Conrad.

  56. Another narrow conex hallway in front of them.

  74. The same setup sits in front of Don.

  94. Don takes out his ear piece and listens again.
  95.  
  96. A louder and more noticeable thud.

  98. Don puts his earpiece back in.

  101. (earpiece)
  102. Paulsen, report, damn it.

  105. (into mic)
  106. Alpha three reporting, I got
  107. something.

  109. Don slings his rifle forward.
  110.  
  111. DON (CONT’D)
  112. WHO'S THERE?!

  114. Don pushes forward and flicks the safety off his rifle.
  115.  
  116. DON (CONT’D)
  117. Fuck is that?
  118.  
  119. Louder bangs- Something metallic.
  120.  
  121. His heart races as he moves forward. Don slows down and
  122. begins to control his breaths.
  123.  
  124. More bangs come from next to him.

  126. DON (CONT’D)
  127. Who the fuck is in the container?
  128.  
  129. He looks to both sides of him.
  130.  
  131. Nothing. Don puts his earpiece back in.
  132.  
  133. DON (CONT’D)
  134. (into earpiece)
  135. Be advised, found the source of the
  136. sound.
  137.  
  138. MARCUS
  139. Copy that, don't open that till we-

  141. DON
  142. Fuck that.

  144. Don takes out a pair of bolt cutters and cuts the locks off
  145. the shipping container. He keeps his hand on his rifle, turns
  146. on its light, and keeps it trained at the door.

  148. Don swings the door open.
  149.  
  150.  
  151. INT. SHIPPING CONTAINER - NIGHT
  152.  
  153. His once tired eyes change to those of shock.
  154.  
  155. DON
  156. Oh, fuck.
  157.  
  158. Children lay on cots inside the container. One bucket sits on
  159. each end of the container. Don covers his mouth and tries to
  160. mask the stench of the container.
  161.  
  162. At the very front, a child stands there.
  163.  
  164. CHILD
  165. Mama? Это ты?

  167. DON
  168. What?!
  169.  
  170. Don looks past him and shines his light on the others.
  171.  
  172. DON (CONT’D)
  173. English?
  174.  
  175. The child's eyes give Don a blank stare.
  176.

  181. I don't...
  182.  
  183. Marcus walks into the container.
  184.  
  185. MARCUS
  186. Hey, buddy...
  187.  
  188. Don lowers his weapon.
  189.  
  190. DON
  191. Hey man, we gotta go to the feds
  192. about this-

  194. Behind Don, Chavez and Carter appear behind him.
  195.  
  196. Marcus gets closer and holds something sharp in his hand.
  197.  
  198. DON (CONT’D)
  199. Hey what the fuck are you-
  200.  
  201. Marcus stabs the child in the shoulder with the syringe and
  202. takes it out.
  203.  
  204. DON (CONT’D)
  205. Motherfucker!
  206.  
  207. Don raises his handgun only for one to put him in a head
  208. lock. The other pulls the gun out of his hand.
  209.  
  210. The child falls in front of him. Don struggles to get out of
  211. their grasp as one kicks the back of his leg and brings him
  212. to his knees. He falls forward and lets off a cry of pain as
  213. he falls forward.
  214.  
  215. Marcus picks the child up and sets him down in an empty cot.
  216.  
  217. Marcus walks over to Don.
  218.  
  219. His demeanor is calm, casual.
  220.  
  221. MARCUS
  222. Donovan Paulsen.
  223. (smiles)
  224. You live with your daughter,
  225. formerly Ashley Wren Jackson, now
  226. Ashley Paulsen at 4333 West Bell
  227. Road, apartment 2043 in Phoenix.

  229. Don looks up at him with anger.
  230.  
  231. DON
  232. These are god damn kids!

  234. MARCUS

  237. Don tries to struggle only to get held back as he looks up at
  238. Marcus.

  240. MARCUS (CONT’D)

  243. Don's eyes widen as he looks behind Marcus at the children on
  244. cots.

  246. DON
  247. They're in fucking shipping
  248. containers...

  250. MARCUS
  251. You are standing in front of a
  252. moving train, Don. I'm just
  253. protecting our bottom line. Now.
  254. You get in our way.

  256. He reaches into a holster and pulls out a suppressed Ruger
  257. Mark 2 and chuckles.

  259. MARCUS (CONT’D)
  260. Otherwise, I'm going to kill your
  261. daughter and make you watch.
  262.  
  263. He reaches into Don's vest pocket and takes out a picture of
  264. Ash.
  265.  
  266. MARCUS (CONT’D)
  267. I've known you awhile buddy.
  268.  
  269. Don just watches this.

  272. Honestly, capping four of your guys
  273. isn't a very heroic thin-

  275. Don's eyes widen and light up with anger.

  287. Don lunges forward but gets pulled back by the two that hold
  288. his arms.

  290. MARCUS (CONT’D)

  294. Don goes silent as the anger on his face subsides.
  295.  
  296. His face changes to that of disgust.

  301. Marcus reaches into another vest pocket. He takes Don's
  302. wallet.

  304. Marcus takes out Don's license snaps a photo of it. He puts
  305. it all back and throws his wallet down.

  308. Pick your shit up and get back to
  309. it.

  311. The two agents let him go.
  312.  
  313. DON
  314. Yeah... Sure.

  316. The three walk out.
  317.  
  318. Don still looks at the container, shock in his eyes.

  320. The kids in cots line the shipping container as Don stands
  321. back up and walks out.

  323. The light inside the crate goes away as Don closes it.

  328. INT. CORPORATE OFFICE - DAY
  329.  
  330. SENTINEL SECURITIES, is visible against a wall.

  332. DON
  333. I can't believe they actually took
  334. me.

  336. Don walks through a corridor.
  337.  
  338. He wears a suit, the jacket open.
  339.  
  340. DAWN "MICHELLE" PAULSEN, (34) walks beside him.
  341.  
  342. MICHELLE
  343. Well, a lot of things tend to when
  344. you're the "Hero of Houston". Big
  345. damn hero you are.

  347. Don shrugs.

  353. Michelle rolls her eyes then stops.

  367. Don raises his arms as anger registers on his face.

  372. She motions for him to enter. Don walks inside. The door
  373. closes behind him.

  375. He takes a deep breath.

  380. Don walks forward and enters

  383. MEETING ROOM - DAY
  384.  
  385. MARCUS MATTHEWS, (30) gives Don a warm smile.

  388. Just wanted to congratulate you,
  389. Mr. Paulsen. You're going to great
  390. on our team.

  392. Don shakes his hand and shoots a nervous grin.

  394. DON
  395. So, what am I going to be doing
  396. exactly? I wasn't really clued in
  397. on that.

  399. MARCUS
  400. Just security on high value cargo
  401. from the Ukraine.
  402.  
  403. Don nods.
  404.  
  405. DON
  406. Anything I'll need?

  409. Just everything you used during the
  410. course, no real preference. It's
  411. all you.

  413. Marcus shoots a warm smile to him.

  418. Marcus puts his hand out and offers a handshake.

  420. The two shake hands.

  423. How's tomorrow sound for your first
  424. day?

  427. I don't see an issue.

  429. Marcus shoots him a grin.
  430.

  435. INT. HALLWAY - DAY
  436.  
  437. Don steps out of the room and closes the door behind him.
  438.  
  439. He closes his eyes then takes a sigh.

  441. DON
  442. Fuck.

  444. Don walks down as Michelle approaches him.
  445.  
  446. MICHELLE
  447. How'd it go, Mikee?
  448.  
  449. Don shrugs and walks with her.
  450.  
  451. DON
  452. Okay, given the circumstances.

  455. He seems to like you.

  467. Don just shoots a look of confusion at her.

  474. Gunshots ring out as people start to run away through the
  475. hall.

  477. An alarm rings out.

  479. LOUDSPEAKER
  480. (over building)
  481. Code silver, all personnel evacuate
  482. immediately.

  484. The world slows. Michelle starts to tug on Don's shoulder,
  485. with a frantic look on her face.
  486.  
  487. The world comes back.
  488.  
  489. MICHELLE
  490. WE NEED TO GO, NOW!
  491.  
  492. Don's face changes to anger as screams grow louder.
  493.  
  494. DON
  495. Get outta here!
  496.  
  497. MICHELLE
  498. Fine, be that way then!
  499.  
  500. Don pushes her away as he moves down the hall way. He makes a
  501. turn as the gun shots continue to ring out.
  502.  
  503. DON
  504. I'm gonna die, I'm gonna fucking
  505. die, I'm gonna fucking die...
  506.  
  507. Don stops and looks at an armed security guard. The guard
  508. holds his leg as his blood pools around him. In the other, he
  509. holds a Beretta and trains it in the direction people run
  510. from.
  511.  
  512. He slumps over and drops his gun.
  513.  
  514. Don makes his way over to him and looks at his belt. A
  515. tourniquet sits on it. He takes it out and cuts off the
  516. bleeding gunshot wound.
  517.  
  518. DON (CONT’D)
  519. This guy's gonna make it. I'm not.
  520. Just shoot me, dude. Be done with
  521. it.
  522.  
  523. Don takes the gun and chamber checks it.
  524.  
  525. Sweat runs down Don's brow.
  526.  
  527. DON (CONT’D)
  528. Oh, I'm so fucking dead.
  529.  
  530. Gunshots ring out behind him. People flee behind him.
  531.  
  532. DON (CONT’D)
  533. Oh fucking christ.

  535. Don takes a deep breath and charges in.

  538. INT. OFFICE - DAY
  539.  
  540. Everyone in the room is gone.
  541.  
  542. Dead bodies lie around. Some in front of the door as if
  543. they'd tried to escape.
  544.  
  545. Two men stand in the room.
  546.  
  547. CRAIG, (mid-40s) holds a gun to the other one's chest.
  548.  
  549. BILL, (mid-30s) has his hands up. Blood stains his shirt. His
  550. nose bleeds.
  551.  
  552. CRAIG
  553. You were banging my wife you son of
  554. a bitch.
  555.  
  556. BILL
  557. Craig, it wasn't like that, she was
  558. throwing herself on-
  559.  
  560. CRAIG
  561. DON'T tell me that, I know you

  565. Don gets into position and trains his Beretta on him.

  570. Craig turns the gun on Don.
  571.  
  572. Don fires two shots at him, the deafening sound of gunfire
  573. echoing through the halls office
  574.  
  575. The office window behind Don breaks as he crawls forward.

  577. DON (CONT’D)
  578. (muttering)
  579. Well, fuck.
  580.  
  581. CRAIG
  582. You got no part in this, get the
  583. fuck out of here!
  584.  
  585. Craig's gun dry clicks as Don stands up.
  586.  
  587. Craig loads a magazine and rides it forward.
  588.  
  589. The two take aim at each other.
  590.  
  591. Don squeezes the trigger, firing one shot into Craig's
  592. throat.
  593.  
  594. Craig manages to get a shot off, hitting Don in the shoulder.
  595.  
  596. Silence.
  597.  
  598. Don bleeds from his shoulder as two officers, Parks and
  599. Hawkins walk in. He throws the gun on the ground, his hands
  600. up.
  601.  
  602. He looks down at his shoulder and falls over as he blacks
  603. out.
  604.  
  605. FADE TO BLACK.
  606.  
  607. Don is wheeled out on a stretcher.
  608.  
  609. JACQUELINE "JACKIE" PAULSEN, (28) places her hand on his
  610. cheek. She wears a
  611.  
  612. JACKIE (O.S.)
  613. I love you Donovan Paulsen.
  614.  
  615. She holds his hand.Jackie appears as she holds his hand.

  618. (mouthing)
  619. ...Jackie, don't leave...
  620.  
  621. Blood runs down the side of his arm. Blood runs down the side
  622. of his stomach. Don looks up at his sister.
  623.  
  624. Michelle stabs something into his arm. Don lets out a scream
  625. of pain as he sucks in air. His pulse begins to race as she
  626. shouts something.
  627.  
  628. Don's breathing begins to normalize as he looks at his arm,
  629. covered in blood.
  630.  
  631. His hearing returns.
  632.  
  633. MICHELLE
  634. GET UP!
  635.  
  636. Don stands up, his pulse guns it once more. He feels his arm.

  639. I thought I was shot here...

  641. For a second he laughs, then drops and passes out.

  644. INT. BEDROOM - DAY

  646. Jackie feels the side of Don's face.

  648. She leans in to give him a kiss.

  668. Don wakes up in a hospital bed. He blinks a couple times, a
  669. ceiling fan above him.

  671. He has an IV in his left arm. ASHLEY "WRENCH" PAULSEN, (18)
  672. sits next to him.
  673.  
  674. Don rolls over.
  675.  
  676. DON
  677. Jackie? Fuck...
  678.  
  679. Don sits up and holds his head. He wears a patient's gown as
  680. he sits up and holds his shoulder.

  682. DON (CONT’D)
  683. I should be dead.

  685. Wrench sits there, her arms crossed.

  850. The door to the conex box closes behind him.

  858. Matthews shoots a look to Don and motions to Conrad.

  861. Keep an eye on Mr. Paulsen.

  863. Don looks back at Conrad and gives him a scowl.

  894. starts undoing his plate carrier.

  903. Don opens the trunk to his mustang and puts his plate carrier
  904. in it.

  912. Don raises his arms at him in anger.

  935. Don gets into his car and unlocks the door.
