  1. How to fauceting the safe way
  2.
  3. Fauceting is fun and can be lucrative. But Faucet owners need income, to keep them
  4.
  5. running. Advertisement is mostly the main income source for them, but also sometimes a
  6.
  7. way to influence the faucet with malicious scriptings. So a lot of users use any kind of
  8.
  9. scriptblockers. That maybe safe for the user, but not good for the faucet. So how can a
  10.
  11. user protect his hardware against malware, without diminishing the owners income?
  12.
  13. 1. User rights
  14. Never! Never, never, never start your preferred browser with root/admin rights! If you
  15.
  16. havent a restricted account at your computer, make one. Start your computer only from a
  17.
  18. restricted account.
  19.
  20. 2. Browser
  21. Use a portable version of your preferred browser. With the package, you can build as
  22.
  23. many browsers, as you need, including a banking only browser. You can personalize every
  24.
  25. browser as your likings/needings, i.e. predefined behaviour, open tabs etc.
  26.
  27. 3. Environment
  28. If you have an installed sandbox, lucky you. If not, find a sandbox of your liking and install
  29.
  30. it. For windows user, the free version of Sandboxie works well. Allow the sandbox
  31.
  32. contents the internet access. Start your prepaired browser in the box. All changes while
  33.
  34. browsing won't affect your hardware permanently. After ending the session you may be
  35.
  36. asked to safe changes or empty the sandbox. If you aren't sure, empty/delete the sandbox.
  37.
  38. 4 Scriptblockers/antimalware
  39. If you use your predefined browser as restrichted user in a sandbox, you don't need
  40.
  41. scriptblockers and antimalware, but read attentionally, if your security pops up. If you
  42.
  43. browser mining, some security tools may warn about. than try to define an exception in
  44.
  45. your security i.e. for coinhive, a well known webmining service.
  46.
  47. After all this, have fun and lucky fauceting.
