  1. Ice walls erupt from the ground aiming to trap the hero within an arena.
  2. (Malentine Invidia)
  3.
  4. "Finally..."
  5.
  6. The word is growled from the hooded figures fanged mouth. Red eyes glint beneath the shroud, not making any sort of attempt to hide the kind of creature that lies beneath it. It clutches a frigid cutlass in one hand, a great, dark metal blade that collects the snow and frost in the air that is forming around the creature.
  7.
  8. The ice walls and pillars tear across the cavern floors, creating an expansive arena that traps the vampire's current prey within. "Another one has come. Another one has decided to show its face. Behind a mask..."
  9.
  10. There's a quick movement as Malentine descends before Eagleheart in a flurry. "Let me see the face that lies beneath!"
  11. (Malentine Invidia)
  12.
  13. The Crusader moved towards his usual spot at the cave. After all, even if it was risky-- Most often it paid off to come to this place. Yet, it was quickly that he noticed he wasn't alone... But a lone vampire was there, waiting for him.
  14.
  15. To him, it isn't immediately obvious as it would be for others. Instead of observing the red eyes, what he feels is the disturbance within that brews from this man. The pure, sheer force of Chaos that is emitted from him. And yet, even if he wishes to turn back...
  16.
  17. Icy walls rise around him, trapping Eagleheart inside. An arena for themselves. Turning back towards the man, he can barely notice the change in the outburst of speed.
  18.
  19. The same one as before. Malentine... One of the two Invidia siblings that took his leg, back when he was nothing but a blind boy. That time, however, they were two.
  20.
  21. This time, he was one.
  22.
  23. The soothing chime that followed him moved around the arena, resonating within the thick walls of ice. The hammer was slung out of his back, this time, held within his hand. However...
  24.
  25. The very world seemed to move around him. Perhaps he remembered a bit about the lethality of staying near to one of these. "I have no fear of you, Vampire."
  26.
  27. These were the only words he would say, at least for now.
  28. (Eagleheart)
  29.
  30. The vampire's grin glowed from beneath his hood, that same red that leaked from his eyes bled across his teeth as he moved in on the masked hero. While Eagleheart may remember Malentine from the last they fought, the creature before him was far less patterned, far less polite. The eldest Invidia had become more of a rabid animal than anything else, it seemed, shrieking as he carved through the air with that dark, cold blade. It wasn't until well into the fight that he recognize it; that hammer. That scent.
  31.
  32. They'd met before, years ago.
  33.
  34. "I know you..." came a rumble from beneath the cowl. "I know you!" Malentine throws his shoulder into Eagleheart's chest, knocking the man clear back into one of those icy walls. The structure crumbles and shards rain down across the fighters like daggers, some of which do end up being rather purposefully brought down and into Eagleheart's armor and body.
  35.
  36. "Hide HIDE HIDE BEHIND THAT MASK! I KNOW YOU!"
  37.
  38. Malentine disappeared into the shadows as the shards twinkled across the ground, their broken melody something of a distorted, out of tune trickle that answered Eagleheart's chimes. An echoed voice came from deeper in the caves, as if the vampire was retreating for some reason.
  39.
  40. Though he felt something heinous enter, something far more corrupt than even he was. Something he knew better than to wait around for.
  41. (Malentine Invidia)
  42.
  43. The crusader seems to hold tight his position. The hammer moves around, flailing as it hits against the vampire. It is obvious that Malentine has the advantage, up to a certain point of the fight. The telekinetic powers conceded to him by the attunement to the Arcane serve him well, to say the least.
  44.
  45. It was obvious that there was something different about Malentine himself. The way that he attacked was way more furious, way more powerful, and by what it seemed... The mask served not much to disguise his identity.
  46.
  47. After the brief period of advantage, Eagleheart turned back to defending. The clanks and hits of the hammer's shaft against the Malentine's swords echoed throughout the caves, with glimmering brightness occasionally lighting up small rooms of the cave.
  48.
  49. Eagleheart, however, remained completely silent. Even as Malentine spoke, even as the vampire taunted and told him that he was known already... The man remained completely silent. He required tofocus, after all.
  50.
  51. Their fight wasn't located -- What started closer to the vampire hometown went closer to the southern entrances, and that was when he felt it. The dark, ominous presence wandering closer.
  52.
  53. Perhaps for the best.
  54.
  55. Malentine's first intent was to hide away in the shadows, but he was fast. After all, he was nothing but a vampire. Eagleheart, however, wasn't as fast. There was a visible tension upon the air, the faint conflict of Order that Eagleheart possessed against Tragedy's massive aura of Chaos.
  56.
  57. He had nothing but the hammer as a companion. But he wasn't one to shy away in the face of danger. "Tragedy. Back from Crafthold, I believe?"
  58. (Eagleheart)
  59.
  60. The Archon Tragedy floated through the caverns as an ominous presence, one easy to detect far before they were spotted. Not least of which due to the way she used her deathly aura as a casual light source. Mushrooms and critters dropped dead as she floated, and nothing with sentience dared approach her.
  61.
  62. Hearing the clangs of combat nearby, she would move to investigate- seeing a figure disappearing into the shadows and another standing before her. One she could immediately sense as an order magi.
  63.
  64. Looking over him for a moment, the Archon removed her helm and let it fall into her ethereal inventory. Her cherubic visage offered a small smile.
  65.
  66. "Oh, no. Nothing like that."
  67.
  68. The smile tilted into a smirk. "I have just returned from killing one of Kraus' precious angels. You can scarcely imagine how satisfied I am."
  69. (Tragedy)
  70.
  71. Malentine freezes in the shadows he was lurking in, the name of the settlement that claimed his sister's life echoing back to him. This wretched 'hero' was playing him, but the vampire was too enthralled in his own blood-filled rage to really comprehend that aspect of it. That snarled face turned back, moving near the edge of the lake. He stuck to the darkness, as his kind does, and while he may have been attempting some sort of stealthy maneuver, that tell-tale red glow of his eyes and that curled, twisted smile were all to visible by the other two occupants of the cavern.
  72.
  73. As if to consider this is blunder, the vampire's nyeshk blade scrapes against the ground. All feeling of retreat had left him, even as waves of Tragedy's corruption filled the space. The eldest Invidia was being driven by one thing through out the last weeks; vengeance for Coraline. And so his presence was known, and he let out a cold laugh, ensuring the temperature within the caverns maintained its sub-zero degree.
  74.
  75. "An angel of Kraus? Aha! Ahaha! You must be... her."
  76.
  77. While his voice was attempting to sound prim and proper, it had a certain ragged air to it, and every so often the vampire himself twitched. His smile was spread across his face in such a way that it seemed to almost threaten to tear his entire expression in half.
  78.
  79. Still, even in his deranged state, Malentine Invidia was a vampire of manners. And so he put one hand behind his back and tilted his head. "Lord Malentine Invidia of House Balaren, High Alchemist of Baukdengrad and advisor to the Baron Lucien Voss...
  80.
  81. Lady Tragedy."
  82. (Malentine Invidia)
  83.
  84. The Order magi had some trouble seeing her. Upon feeling the vampire return from the shadows, his other hand move towards his own back. Even if his gaze seems settled towards the archon, the other free hand, made entirely of mythril, moves backwards. It points towards Malentine, through and through...
  85.
  86. Her words, however, bring him feelings unknown to others. A slight spark of fear, most specifically, but it only maintains itself for a brief instant. The earthen armor, reinforcing the mask, seems to not let any emotions get past.
  87.
  88. There is, however, some part of incredulity. "An... Angel?" He speaks, almost curiously. The voice resonates within the mask, and around wherever his order magic manages to spread through.
  89.
  90. Upon the vampire stepping forward, Eagleheart takes a few steps back, so they'd both stay in front of him. However, it was obvious that he was more concerned with the Archon than the other. After all, one of them was known for killing people in general... And the other was known to hunt specifically his kind.
  91.
  92. "I don't believe it. I... I can't. An angel is too powerful to be defeated. Unless... You weren't alone." But only the question remained. Who?
  93.
  94. Who, in all of Agartha, could team up to kill an angel? The question fills his mind, however, the order magi seems to still seek something that can help him overcome the nervousness and fear that lurk deep within himself.
  95.
  96. Perhaps by making a joke. "Ah. Where are my manners. I'm Eagleheart." Except it sounds like an introduction, not a joke.
  97.
  98. (Eagleheart)
  99.
  100. "If you don't believe me. I am sure you will learn in time." The Archon looked over to Malentine briefly before smiling, shaking her head a little.
  101.
  102. "Well. Order magi. Vampire. Feel free to go back to killing each other." And she carried on without a care.
  103. (Tragedy)
  104.
  105. It was probably for the best that Eagleheart kept himself entirely together. Perhaps it was something that he did not expect for the first time meeting Tragedy, but in fact...
  106.
  107. He had to recognize when the fight was far too unlikely to end in something good for him. Against the vampire alone, he stood a fair chance. But against Tragedy alone? He was for sure in a disadvantage. And the way things looked for him...
  108.
  109. ... He was alone against them both at once. Oh, Order, what price does it take at times. Yet, it isn't a wasted opportunity. The very moment she carries on, the Order magi carefully steps aside.
  110.
  111. His own energy seems to vanish slowly, and then, perhaps at the very moment Malentine is distracted, Eagleheart dashes off, with the hammer trailing behind him, still floating in the air.
  112.
  113. The very sensation of thinking that Tragedy could have killed an angel... It was hard to know what to think of it. Perhaps others would make better use of this information than he would.
  114. (Eagleheart)
  115.
  116. Eagleheart says, "I need to talk to Shu."
  117.
  118. Eagleheart says, "Now."
  119.
  120. Eagleheart asks, "Where is she?"
