"The Traitor"

A sad time for us Hunters... we've been betrayed by one of our own. 2nd Class Officer Trevor Mayxx has committed High Treason against an entire Quadrant for his violent acts...

Trevor was admitted to the SHR in early January one year ago after passing the training exam with high expectations. He was planted in Base 24 with Hunter Squadron #17. Squadron #17 focused on intel and defense, moreso for missions that required mass futility of mind and endurance. This was up Trevor's lane for when he was a Hunter. He has gotten along with most of the Clan as told. It was like he was... "meant," to be a Shadow Hunter. ...We really thought wrong. Reports of Mayxx coinciding with a terrorist group began to rupture through three different worlds. Private investigations had to begin to sort out the reports that were connected to him. These appeared in the later year, within the spring season.

It took the team about 5 months to figured out that Mayxx was indeed connected to an old terrorist group. They were known as "The Integers." This group was highly dangerous for when they were first committed to their work. They traveled to 8 known planets in 3 different Quadrants. They lasted quite a spree of havoc for 6 years, but was all struck down when their leader of the pact was shot down. The group was disbanded, and any member had two options: Prison or Service to the Government. Mayxx chose the service, which lasted for 1 year. After the year was finished, he was free to make a new life. We thought he could be, a "changed man." We really were stupid...

July of 20XX, the SHR was given an assignment to be the escort and guards to the royal Archbishop of the planet known as Senzo. Archbishop FestClaive was to hold a public orientation and speech at the planet's honed capital, and the SHR need to make sure no assassins or terrorists were to disrupt the event. A team of 150 Hunters were chosen, Squadron #17 was one of the groups within the chosen 150. The event would last until sunfall, that's how much time they were given for a safe passage for not just the Archbishop, but the people of Senzo.

As the day progressed, the Hunters did not see any unnatural causes. It was until the speech was being given to the people, to see if any hidden killers would try. As suspected... there were three that tried. No shots were openly fired thankfully, and the three assassins were locked away. But Commander Brendan Striker was curious to this. Something so huge to happen cannot be this easy.. he remained cautious until the banquet when nightfall almost arrived. During the frivolous event, the Archbishop had some important visitors... one of being an Ambassador of a neighboring planet to Senzo. The Ambassador wanted to propose an Act to the Archbishop's corporation. But that speech was, cut short...

Gunfire was immediately heard, and the Ambassador was shot dead in front of hundreds of people. The only person close to the Ambassador when he was shot was Brendan. Brendan hurried to him, but of course the shot was at the heart. The person who shot the Ambassador... was none other than Mayxx. He quickly took the Archbishop as hostage, and caused a riot. He wasn't alone too, some of the disbanded Integers were there too. Along with more terrorists. This was planned, somehow, from the beginning... Brendan had to act somehow, but the situation was all to dire. He commanded the Hunters to take out any hostiles and make sure any innocent bystander wasn't shot down during the rampage. Mayxx grabbed the Archbishop and fled for one of the tower exits. The facility was turned into a battle-zone from this monstrosity. Brendan, along with Zack Fuzoka, chased Mayxx to rescue the Archbishop. Gunfire and explosions were riled everywhere. There was little thinking to what will happen if the Hunters lose this place. The two hurried to the Archbishop, they couldn't fire at Mayxx due to the Archbishop being his hostage, so they dodged whatever Mayxx threw at them. Before long, the four were on a long pathway outside. Mayxx looked at the two, boldly and in sight. The two Hunters pleaded for the Archbishop's safety, but Mayxx wouldn't do so. He proposed a way off of Senzo and with payment too. Mayxx was harsh with these acts, it was all out treason to get a ride out and with no one trailing him. They had little choice, they called in a transport ship to their location. Once it arrived, Mayxx was to ensure the safety of the Archbishop. With his so called "promise," he let the man go, hop onto the transport, and fled away. Brendan was seconds away to destroying the transport with the Model-63 Railgun, but Zack found a device stuck to the Archbishop. It was a bomb, in case the Hunters thought twice to make sacrifices in order to keep their will. With little choice, Brendan withdrew the weapon and helped Zack disarm the device. But then there were explosions everywhere at the large cathedral. Everyone had to escape. At least they did with not much of casualties.

The news spread quickly. Mayxx was now known as a traitor to not only the SHR, but to the Councils. A bounty was placed on his head, dead or alive, to bring him to justice. Brendan and Zack were really furious, but also devastated. One of their own kin went against them, even though they were proven to be a changed person. A scar that wouldn't leave them for life. It would all matter till their next fated meeting...
