- Ark: Survival Evolved is a mixed bag of a game. You are in a fantasy world where you wake up, stranded on an island with prehistoric and mythical creatures, with nothing else to do but find a way to survive.
- Whether you play single player, multiplayer official or multiplayer unofficial will change your experience entirely.
- I originally purchased this game back during the early access period, but then stopped playing as at the time, prior to DLC being released, had felt like I had experienced it all. And as a veteran of more than one war on the official server I used to play on, I certainly have a lot of stories that I could tell, each day that I play the game, there's the potential for a new experience. Sometimes it's stressful, sometimes it's thrilling. At the end of the day, it comes down to what you personally make of it.
- As a single player game, ARK is a lonely game. The only signs of you not being alone is scattered ruins and notes/dossiers left behind from 5-6 survivors either giving you information about the creatures on the island, or telling you about them and their life before the ark/events that happened during their stay.
- However, you will truly be alone and feel alone when you will get yourself accidentally stuck in a spot where you can't touch the ground, such as mining metal on mountain tops. In these cases, you have no choice but to die since a lot of actions normally available may not be. This is Ark at its most annoying.
- Ark at its most intense and to me, most exciting can be the random, but not impossible to survive
