  1. > It was late at night. Twilight Sparkle was at this moment standing on a chair, writing on a piece of paper.
  2. > Next to her was a trash can full of crumpled paper. She also had another chair near, this one with several pieces of parchment waiting to be used.
  3. > Her entire body was slightly shaking, her eyes were red and almost closed, her body was pretty cold.
  4. > Tomorrow she would have to make another speech to her Ponyville residents. And she just couldn't manage to make a 'satisfactory' speech.
  5. > In fact, everytime she had to write, that would happen to her. And nopony, not even her closest friends, knew about it.
  6. > Why should they? Just so they could worry about her? No, Twilight choose to keep that inside. She was pretty good at hiding this part of her.
  7. > The only time she lost control, when she thought she was tardy... she knew that it was a miracle that nopony got hurt. She couldn't afford it get the best of her.
  8. > And when she became a princess, it got worse. Now everypony depended and looked upon her. And that weight was crushing her...
  9. > So many lives depending on her choices. So many lives ready to judge her. She knew how powerful a speech could be. She couldn't afford to blow this up.
  10. > So why didn't her body help her do it?
  11. > She hated herself. Or at least this part of herself.
  12. > Twilight shrugged her thoughts. She couldn't afford them... at least now. Finishing the speech was the only thing that mattered.
  13. > "You should go to bed Twilight. You need to recover your energy."
  14. > Twilight looked behind, just to see her faithful helper standing behind her. Normally she would be delighted with his presence, but now she didn’t had the patience to deal with him.
  15. > "Spike, that is not your problem. Go to bed.”
  16. > “Twilight… you really need to sleep. I can see that you are tired.”
  17. > “Spike, I warned you before. Don’t talk to me while I am trying to concentrate.”
  18. > As she said those words, she gave Spike the ‘cold eyes’. That was usually enough to put the baby dragon back into his place.
  19. > Spike, however, wasn’t ready to give up this time. He knew that Twilight desperately needed help.
  20. > “Twilight, please. You can do this tomorrow.”
  21. > “Spike, I already told you to go to bed. I am doing this now. Go take care of your own business.”
  22. > Twilight was doing her best to keep her composure. But deep down she knew she was getting mad. Why couldn’t that dragon just take the hint and go away?
  23. > Oh Celestia, how much she hated him at that moment. The thought of a baby dragon feeling pity for her… how could she suck so low?
  24. > “Twilight… I care about you. I want to help you.” Spike said, getting close and resting his hands on her back, trying to hug her. “You need to rest, Twilight.”
  25. > Twilight froze for a few moments. Normally she would find it cute to have Spike hugging herself. But today… the feeling of his claws set her body into defense mode.
  26. > “DO NOT TOUCH ME! GET THE HECK AWAY FROM ME!”
  27. > She answered by grabbing the dragon with her magic, then throwing him far away from her.
  28. > Spike had written the ground with a loud ‘THUMP’. He looked at Twilight, unsure of what had happened.
  29. > While his dragon scales softened mostly of the blow… he could feel a sharp pain in his heart. His caretaker, his idol, had just suddenly attacked him.
  30. > “I’m sorry Twilight!”, Spike said while starting to cry.
  31. > “SORRY?! I AM SORRY! SORRY FOR HAVING TO KEEP HEARING YOU WHINING ON MY HEAR. SORRY FOR HAVING TO WRITE A CELESTIA ACCURSED SPEECH THAT I CANNOT EVEN FINISH THE INTRODUCTION! I HATE THIS! I HATE THIS SO MUCH!”
  32. > Twilight was completely out of control. She started to pick things with magic and throw them around. A chair went flying and crushed against the wall. Her desk was throw through the window, shards of glass littering the room. She began to pick bookshelves and drop them on the ground.
  33. > “I HATE THIS! HATE! HATE!”
  34. > She went for a few minutes, before her rage finally quelled. Everything that was stuck at her had, in those minutes, finally come to light. She felt… kind of relieved.
  35. > But then a feeling of horror filled her: what had she just done? The whole place was a mess, like a typhoon had passed through.
  36. > And… what about Spike?
  37. > Twilight heart suddenly sank. How could she lose control like this? This never happened before. Even when she was tardy… she never got this aggressive.
  38. > She rushed to Spike’s makeshift bed. There was a figure lying beneath the sheets, clearly trembling.
  39. > She touched it closely, only to notice it started to shake more. Spike was… afraid of her…
  40. > That realization sunk deep inside of her. How could she had sunk so much?
  41. > “Spike… I am sorry. So sorry.”
  42. > The figure in the casket heard those words, it’s shaking lowering a little. But that wasn’t enough to make him leave his shelter.
  43. > “Spike, I know you were trying to help me. I appreciate it.”
  44. > She then lowered next to him, but didn’t dare to touch him.
  45. > “I know I have hurt you. And no matter what I felt, nothing could ever justify what I did. I… am sorry.”
  46. > The figure stopped shaking.
  47. > “Can you… forgive me? I promise I will never hurt you again.”
  48. > She was rewarded with the figure jumping from his casket, Spike hugging her neck.
  49. > “Twilight, I do! I am your faithful student, and I always will be!” Spike said with tears, his tail wagging like a dog.
  50. > “Spike, thank you. Thank you for being so understanding. Thank you so much.”
  51. > She answered by hugging the little dragon with her front hooves.
  52. > “What can I do for you, Twilight?”
  53. > “Sadly, Spike… I think what I have is from the inside. But I will try to seek help for it.”
  54. > “What do you mean?”
  55. > “Nothing. I just promise you, things will be better. I will do better.”
  56. > After those words Twilight stopped talking, just enjoying the little dragon embrace. She could hear the commotion on the street, the neighbors probably shocked by the noise her rampage did. She would have a lot to explain when her friends came asking what had happened.
  57. > Perhaps she should tell them the truth. Or perhaps a lie, saying that it was the result of mishandling a magic spell. Regardless, that didn’t matter… at least for now. The most important thing was redeeming the pain she had caused.
  58. > Strange, she didn’t feel tired anymore. Nor horrified. The little dragon hug actually gave her peace. She smiled, finally giving herself to sleep.
  59. > She knew that what she had was an illness. She was pretty enlightened; she knew that it wasn’t something normal. And that it would be hard to learn how to live with it. But she also knew that she had someone who would always stand with her… and frankly, wasn’t that what matters the most?
