  1. [17:43] There were a few things that spiralled through Angel's mind after observing a certain fight. He was only but a watcher, but did decide to follow up on what he had heard.
  2.
  3. "I wanted to ask."
  4.
  5. The lean man began, his slender fingers weaving upwards and hiding within his pockets.
  6.
  7. "You mentioned a certain diety I believe? Or something - Not Esshar."
  8.
  9. His lips parted into a smile.
  10.
  11. "My name is Angel, I am a researcher - I would like to learn about what it is you believe in."
  12. (Angel)
  13. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  14.
  15. [17:49] It was a tranquil aura she was emitting. The faint image of her just grooming her tail with a brush. Soon as someone came to speak to her, her ears twitched at their voice before Yoshiko looked from her current task.
  16.
  17. "Hm?"
  18.
  19. There was always someone asking her. As she didn't mind this and was always ready to answer people's questions if needed. But she fully expected this question. Rather, she felt like she predicted or foresaw this coming.
  20.
  21. "... I see. Well, where should I start? There's a lot to go through and know but maybe you're looking for something more specific in what I follow?" she inquires, tilting her head some before mimicking his smile albeit softly.
  22.
  23. "I'm Yoshiko.. If you were wondering."
  24. (Yoshiko Taiyang)
  25. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  26.
  27. [17:56] Angel's frosty eyes looked over the woman. Her image - and aura, were felt deeply by Angel. For a moment, his mind that was flooded with anxieties found a moment of silence. Yet only temporary, as a fluttering of his long lanshes woke him up.
  28.
  29. "Well..." He hummed a little, one of his hands slowly rose from a pocket and weaved to his face. Where it found itself on the end of his chin.
  30.
  31. He observed, his head tilting just a little with a small realisation.
  32.
  33. "I'd like to learn it all."
  34.
  35. His lips curled into a smile.
  36.
  37. "I want to learn it all-" A nerve chuckle escaped him.
  38.
  39. "Or at least, perhaps a run-down. Then I can ask questions? If you like, we can go sit in a tavern or something -"
  40.
  41. There was possible one around.
  42.
  43. "We can start with perhaps maybe a few simple categories that I do have in mind however."
  44. (Angel)
  45. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  46.
  47. [17:57] Angel says, "Or maybe one of the studies in the dojo would be better... Not as noisy."
  48. [18:03] Yoshiko's form began to glow seeing as her mood was beginning to warm up all the same. She wasn't against teaching someone of her religion.
  49.
  50. Alas, it depends on how much she would relay. There was only so much Yoshiko could talk about but if they truly wanted to know it all, they'd have to experience it like Yoshiko did.
  51.
  52. "It's not really something that can be explained all in words. But a run-down will be fine.. You may ask as much questions as you like, there is no stopping you from doing so." She quirks her brows at he mention of a different location. They lower before she stared a bit.
  53.
  54. Her body moves and she would get up from the bench after sending her brush into an illusionary dimension. She appeared so calm at what she was doing and held gloomy expression.
  55.
  56. "I know somewhere that will do fine.. It's nearby. Please follow me..."
  57. (Yoshiko Taiyang)
  58. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  59.
  60. [18:03] Yoshiko Taiyang says, "Make yourself at home."
  61. [18:03] Angel says, "This is absolutely, adorable."
  62. [18:10] Who was he to deny a private discussion with anyone?
  63.
  64. His body perked up, feet inching forward as Yoshiko would rise. His hands removed themselves from his pockets, where fingers would interlace together as he followed behind her.
  65.
  66. "Well, I was thinking about perhaps something simple." He would speak as they walk, his steps matchings hers perfectly. "The name, and diety of the religion. What your God represents - Say for example a simple one for Asena would be 'summer'."
  67.
  68. One of his hands came to his chest to gesture in conversation. "It explains quiet a lot about who and what they are."
  69.
  70. As they came into Yoshiko's apartment, his cheeks tinted a little. "Oh wow - This is so lavish. Simple, comfortable." His eyes scanned the room in glee.
  71.
  72. "Wow!"
  73.
  74. Angel finally joined her at the tea-table, where cutlery was being pushed and moved to brew them tea. A notepad found itself in his grasp, leaned against one of his crossed legs.
  75.
  76. "And perhaps what maybe your beliefs are. Your book of rules so to speak."
  77. (Angel)
  78. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  79.
  80. [18:32] The was a quiet pour of tea as Yoshiko gave herself a cup. It wasn't sipped just yet. She laid back in her chair, slid a leg over the other, and rested her hands on the arms of the chair while looking over at Angel.
  81.
  82. "Simple? I am anything but simple... Of course, I know what you mean by that. So, I'll start." The kitsune would look down and intertwine her fingers. She peeked at the male's notebook and seeing as he was going to write down most of what she was going to say, Yoshiko got down to voicing out her knowledge.
  83.
  84. "Jiuweihu is the Goddess that I follow.. You see her everyday and she is always watching over you. She is the brightest and largest star of them all, the Sun." She summed it up perfectly for them. "A past name on the religion would've been called the Illuminated but I plan on revamping it altogether...
  85.
  86. Especially since, to my knowledge, I am the only one who currently has the ability to attune to her light as my own... I continuously follow and abide by her." The quiets down for now, taking a glimpse of her tea. The temperature was to her liking now and it'd prompt her to life the cup and press it against her lips. A short sip was taken before she spoke again, holding the cup.
  87.
  88. "Beliefs..? Hm...." Yoshiko snaps her fingers. The book that always sat on her back would rest on the table. It opened and began flipping through pages until the one she wanted was met. If Angel had noticed, which was very hard not to, there was a flaming thread between Yoshiko and the book, showing that they were bonded together spiritually.
  89.
  90. "There's three tenets that I follow by. Once you're ready, I'll explain them..."
  91. (Yoshiko Taiyang)
  92. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  93.
  94. [18:33] {Item} You drop Jiuweihu's Epitome.
  95. [18:33] {Item} You picked up Jiuweihu's Epitome. Dropped by Yoshiko Taiyang..
  96. [18:42] Angel was yet to pour himself a cup of tea, rather he was somewhat slouched over in his chair. The notepad in his lap as he would write, even before she had spoken.
  97.
  98. "Ready when you are."
  99.
  100. His gaze never broke hers, as she would begin. A curved smile on his face, as his fountain pen itched the paper. Yet already, his interest was peaked -
  101.
  102. "Why do you call her a Goddess?" He asked calmly. "Is the sun, not just another star? Don't cosmic magi- usually refer to their star by just a name? Never Goddess?" He tried to speak when she was taking a pause.
  103.
  104. There was no further questions about the fact that she was unique. "You say, that you are the only one that is attuned to it - Then is it really a God? When you're the only follower."
  105.
  106. The pen's top came to lay on his lip.
  107.
  108. "If you are the only devotee..."
  109.
  110. "Is it a religion?"
  111.
  112. His hand waved almost dismissively at the question of the tenants. "I'd like to hear about this first." His eyes prowling to examine the magnificent book that she was interlaced with.
  113.
  114.
  115. (Angel)
  116. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  117.
  118. [18:53] "No.."
  119.
  120. There was a slight flicker of tension in her when someone said the Sun was just another star. But she knew he meant well by it. Unlike the time someone called Jiuweihu a false goddess. But she would correct him and properly explain what Jiuweihu was.
  121.
  122. "She was transformed into the sun.. Originally she is the first kitsune to be birthed with the tails of nine. Unlike someone like me who has one tail.
  123.
  124. The religion of Celestism is completely different. As they draw power from their stars and call them by names because they do not see their stars as Gods or Goddesses like I do.. Instead, Jiuweihu blesses each Kitsune from birth and they can continue to receive her blessing by attuning to her light... It was why I call her a Goddess. I do not draw power from her... I earn it by following them."
  125.
  126. A cup comes in contact with her mouth again as Yoshiko dampens her mouth with its contents. She closed her eyes while she did this but reopened them to only correct Angel further.
  127.
  128. ".. Oh, I am not the only devotee... I will rephrase. I am the only one who really devotes myself to her on Esshar. Within my birthplace, Sheng, she is seen by everyone. And all Kitsune are usually worshipped greatly for it.
  129.
  130. … So of course, it is a religion. I just plan to branch it out more here."
  131. (Yoshiko Taiyang)
  132. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  133.
  134. [19:00] A brief frown decorated his face as he scribbled something out on his page. "Oh-" Yet he quirked back with the correction. She was transformed into the sun? His throat cleared itself in a single chuckle.
  135.
  136. "Like - wait... So the sun isn't an actual star then?"
  137.
  138. He knew that the celestial realm was farm - but perhaps the reason the sun was so close was because it was different. He scribbled more things down - ideas popping into his head.
  139.
  140. "So similar to all other deities, you draw on her power by worship. That's understandable, but also slightly incredible. In theory - Your religion is the only one who can actually see their deity."
  141.
  142. "Well, in some shape anyway. Aside from Teraphim who have the crown of Aschea."
  143.
  144. He smirked.
  145.
  146. "It makes you completely unique. Do you believe the sun itself - is Jiuweihu, to the point that when you look into the sky - you see your goddess?"
  147.
  148. His free hand reached down to take a sip of tea, that was swallowed quickly before being set down. "I see. So you are basically on a conquest to establish your religion here."
  149.
  150. "A wonderful ambition."
  151.
  152. He wrote something down once more.
  153. (Angel)
  154. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  155.
  156. [19:12] "It is. Just different as how you see other stars..."
  157.
  158. Yoshiko didn't appear to care all that much for the other stars. She only had one to truly focus on. Even though her friend Anastasia was one who really grasped their star's power, she still found hers to be more superior. No matter how much power Anastasia seemed to emit.
  159.
  160. "Exactly that. Everyone else only has various images of what their deity looks like from stories or pictures. I, see my deity everyday."
  161.
  162. She was proud of that honestly. To be a follow of Jiuweihu was truly a blessing for her.
  163.
  164. "Well, yes. I sat in her light multiple times where she can shine over me. I have climbed to the top of a mountain where I could attune to her light better. I can stare at her all day and not be affected... She's that divine."
  165.
  166. Yoshiko would dip her head into a firm nod.
  167.
  168. "Mhm... It will take some time but yes that would be the case.."
  169. (Yoshiko Taiyang)
  170. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  171.
  172. [19:16] He hummed a little with glee as the conversation would continue. While Angel was mostly asking questions - she seemed to have no problems with answering them yet. His lips curled into a smile as he continued to write.
  173.
  174. "It is truly splendid that you are so gifted. In a world where many are abandoned by their gods - you get to see yours." He bit down on his bottom lip.
  175.
  176. "But even with that. And sorry if I'm being a bit abrupt."
  177.
  178. He paused writing.
  179.
  180. "Has your Goddess every actually done anything for you?"
  181.
  182. There was no sarcasm or ill-intent found in his voice. "Have they directly played any influence onto your life? If so - that would be incredible..."
  183.
  184. "As like I said, many are forgotten by those that they worship." He smiled.
  185.
  186. He listened to her explain the situations that she endured to be closer to her goddess. His eyes close softly, as a sharp exhale left him.
  187.
  188. "We all know that the sun shines brightly - what does your religion believe regarding the shadows it casts?"
  189. (Angel)
  190. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  191.
  192. [19:42] Honestly, this was probably the most someone has found interest in Yoshiko religion. She's explained it to Anastasia and many others but it didn't matter as much since the latter were gone or have perished. Anastasia was the only one left to listen to her chants. But that wasn't what she should focus on right now.
  193.
  194. "Thank you... It is truly a blessing," she admits, reaching for her tail and combing her fingers through it.
  195.
  196. Yoshiko's ears stood still at the next question her proposed. It was one that should've been obvious at first sight but maybe there needed to be more explaining.
  197.
  198. Soon, the Kitsune glowed even brighter. It was like she was a piece of the sun within the room which emitted great warmth. But nothing burning or hot. It was like an embrace and comforting.
  199.
  200. "... Yes, she has. This is what she has done to me. Blessed me with a protective layer of her light that I can use whenever I'd like in her name..
  201.
  202. And with this.. I am able to protect more people. I was able to see so much thanks to them, so of course they have done a lot for me. So in return, I must continue to do what they wish," she beamed.
  203.
  204. The glow dimmed lessen but still passively outlined her.
  205.
  206. "Its shadows? No one is perfect.. Jiuweihu has taught me that. The shadows she cast is the parts of us that we will just have to understand in each other. Much like the three tenets. Respect, Kindness, and Understanding..
  207.
  208. Even the most vile of people can be understood with good reason."
  209. (Yoshiko Taiyang)
  210. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  211.
  212. [19:48] Angel seemed to be on the edge of his seat as Yoshiko thanked him. "Do not thank me for what is so obvious. You are lucky - embrace it." He chuckled calmly as his gaze would set on her.
  213.
  214. The radiant embrace of her warmth filled the room. Something within him stopped vibrating... "I see... So you have gained something from her. Wow."
  215.
  216. "You see..."
  217.
  218. Angel's lips parted as the notebook was closed. It seemed that he was finished writing. "I believe that every single entity - that is above 'mortal' are selfish. Self-serving. And quiet frankly..."
  219.
  220. He shrugged.
  221.
  222. "A waste of time, given to people who need to grasp onto something." He hummed a little. "But to some extent, that makes you a little different." He tutted however, shaking his head.
  223.
  224. "You say, that even the most vile person can be understand."
  225.
  226. His eyes fall off her, and look into a corner longingly.
  227.
  228. "T'sk."
  229.
  230. His face scowled into distaste as he looked at her once more.
  231.
  232. "It seems like you are but another - that forgiveness can only be found in death."
  233.
  234. Angel trembled a little, yet no signs of any true emotion just yet.
  235.
  236. "Is that why you took Izurza from me?"
  237. (Angel)
  238. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  239.
  240. [20:19] Yoshiko kept her silence this time around. Listening to his views as he inputted it all in his notebook. She wanted to know more about what he was writing and how he was writing it. There had to be a reason to wanting to learn from her, right?
  241.
  242. There always was.
  243.
  244. But their view was understandable. Some people thought the same for Nobles. That they saw themselves above everyone else and were selfish in everyway. Yoshiko was almost corrupted like that but when she met Anastasia she saw differently because she experienced it first hand. And many other nobles.
  245.
  246. "A little different.. I suppose. But getting the wrong idea on someone is never right. It's why I try to understand everyone in the first place..." She looked at her tail for the moment. Letting her mind run wild again. Many mistook her for what she did or has done. But of course, she always spoke with the truth and never truly lied to anyone. It was just their decision to believe her or not.
  247.
  248. But it was at that moment, when she was continuously listening to him, that she was wondering what he had said. She wanted him to repeat his words despite hearing them fully. She stared at her tail longer this time with her eyes gleaming. Her smile diminishing as her expression deadpans before looking at Angel.
  249.
  250. "... Do you want to know why I did genuinely? I'll tell you because I believe everyone should know. She has committed sins that some would think to look over but she caused pain and stressed upon a lot of people.
  251.
  252. To repent for those sins, she needed to be purged from this world and freed onto a better safe-haven. I am not saying she deserved what happened to her, but it was for the best... And I'm sure that she could see that she regrets her decisions but no longer since I was able to free her from those darkened chains...
  253.
  254. Unlike what she has done to others, I gave her a passing where she could feel at peace.. Please be mindful of that.
  255.
  256. However.. if you have any accusations, then don't bother speaking them. You may leave if you have any..." Yoshiko would not shout and speak in a soft tone. Her frame would rise from the seat she was in and stand there, eyes closed and armed crossed.
  257. (Yoshiko Taiyang)
  258. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  259.
  260. [20:27] Angel's journal would fall to his side and tucked away promptly. His research had come to an end - and it would remain a mystery if he was writing about her religion or her in specific.
  261.
  262. He only hummed, raising the cup of cold tea to sip on it. "You see, understanding itself." He would begin. "Is flawed. The only thing any of us understand is our own needs and desires."
  263.
  264. He shrugged. "And as humans, are we not designed to only understand those that align with you." Angel would rise, and began to loop his couch slowly. A finger swirled in the air as he thought.
  265.
  266. "It is why war happens. The hubris of man affecting their judgement. It prevents them from thinking clearly - and religion." He would mutter, humming a little tune as he would take a seat on the arm of the sofa.
  267.
  268. He knew she had heard him previously - and waited patiently for her response. The only way to give her peace was to grant her death.
  269.
  270. "But again..." He hummed, his head tilting to the side as he watched her, peering with cold eyes through her warmth.
  271.
  272. "You seem to be like all of them. Un-able to understand." He scoffed- rolling his eyes.
  273.
  274. "I think the only reason you wanted to kill her is because she captured Cassius in the war. Izurza didn't do much wrong-"
  275. (Angel)
  276. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  277.
  278. [20:46] "I'm not sure why you think that... But I wouldn't expect someone who hasn't gone through the struggles and trials to understand like I do."
  279.
  280. Yoshiko had heard all around that Izurza had been a problem for many. Even their own allies wanted them dead. They were a nuisance to society as many would say and even fought royals to almost death. She's captured Nobles and killed without reason from the Fox's point of view. Even though she suffered from Amnesia her past mistakes were not forgotten by the many on Esshar.
  281.
  282. But Yoshiko felt like she came to understand them at that moment. Alas, she still had the forces of evil and darkness within her, which Yoshiko lived to cleanse. It was her purpose. So even then, she had to make Izurza pay for her sins and be finally cleansed.
  283.
  284. "No.. I'm not a human so I could not do what you might do. It is why I am more inclined to have a better view of understandingsomeone in the first place. I do not kill as you might think. I purge and cleanse their soul so they may rest in peace. Darkness and Occultism does not deserve to be on a world like this watched over by Jiuweihu."
  285.
  286. Yoshiko's expression did not change. In fact, she only moved to where she could have more space to be warm. The room only got warmer.
  287.
  288. "Do not compare me to people who unable to understand like you've said. There are many who have followed the wrong path to not be able to understand and see what people's life are like. I give time to people to show me what they mean. Izurza got plenty of time and they only continued down their path. So I solved it for them...
  289.
  290. And that isn't the only reason. Didn't do much of anything wrong is an understatement... I hate to say it but you're merely blinded. But maybe.. one day you'll understand and have your sight checked."
  291.
  292. She glances at the door. With Yoshiko slowly making her way there. Her hand reaching for the knob and opening it widely. "... I think we're done here." She didn't give the man her sight and she was gloomy all the while.
  293. (Yoshiko Taiyang)
  294. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  295.
  296. [20:56] "Haven't gone through struggles..."
  297.
  298. He scoffed, a hand waved dismissively at the woman. "Please - The thing is though, you know nothing about me. While - I have quiet a lot regarding you." Angel was the only know who really documented this interview of sorts.
  299.
  300. Even if she had met him - how much did she really know him? And how much did she really know about Izurza? "There is a darkness to every light I believe - Izurza… She was a twisted and corrupt woman."
  301.
  302. "Was she going anywhere good in the afterlife? No-"
  303.
  304. He tut'd.
  305.
  306. "But she tried - I find it rather embarrassing for you to get so defensive about it." Finally the man rose, his slender form moving slowly towards the door. Yet with each clack of his heel, a certain stillness befell the room.
  307.
  308. A cold pressure that blanketed it.
  309.
  310. "I'd like you to know, that the sun - like everything else... Is."
  311.
  312. He popped his tongue. "Temporary. Your religion - is something you will only follow until it benefits you." He stood beside her - where a brief clash of energies would be felt.
  313.
  314. "Just like fire - you will simply fizzle out."
  315.
  316. He chuckled.
  317.
  318. "And I will be laughing when that happens."
  319. (Angel)
  320. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  321.
  322. [21:08] "I fail to see why you are trying to antagonize me like this.. Maybe you see it as something beneficial to you. But I will tell you that you are only going to be disappointed in the end.
  323.
  324. Nothing you say will effect me. Your words? They got out my other ear. Jiuweihu doesn't have time to hear someone call her temporary or false and neither do I. So if you have time to be here and do that, go find some reason to do it elsewhere..."
  325.
  326. Yoshiko continued to hold the door open.
  327.
  328. "Perhaps you're adamant that I made Izurza got to another realm? I suppose you have every right to but you don't need to do it here.. Find another path.
  329.
  330. I'm not sure why people like you think you're benefitting from something like this... And of course I'm going to be defensive of my Goddess. I have every right to."
  331.
  332. She turns to face them, still holding a deadpan and dull visage. She wasn't entirely wanting to deal with this. "So.. are you going to exit my abode or do I have to force you? Imperator Walter is also next do if you'd like to deal with him in my steed.." She was being completely serious.
  333. (Yoshiko Taiyang)
  334. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  335.
  336. [21:15] If anything, Angel was a little disappointed. His hands lay folded at his chest as he simply glared at her. "I know they won't." The man approached just a little closer. Where he could get a good look at her.
  337.
  338. "I know you are an impenetrable castle when it comes to words. When it comes to being antagonised."
  339.
