KNiDL any% tournament 2019 formats

If you are familiar with the points system GSA uses for their Mario Odyssey league, this will be similar.

5 pools. Each runner races every other runner in their pool, but seeding for bracket stage will be determined using a point system (PB seeding will still be used for seeding pools).

- The winner of a race gets 89 points by default
- The loser receives 1 point
- The other 40 points are split depending on how much the winner won by. If the winner wins by 10 minutes and up, they receive all the points. If the winner wins by less than 15 seconds, the loser receives all the points. Points scale linearly in increments of 15 seconds. Examples:
Jayhawker 41:25 vs MusiQuil 41:35 - 89/41
MKCocoon 40:20 vs mapler90210 46:30 - 113/17
Mr_Shasta 39:45 vs Rox 50:40 - 129/1

Forfeits forfeit all points, and winner receives the maximum of 129 points (subject to interpretation depending on circumstances though).

Point ties will be broken first by head to head (if applicable), then by win/loss, then by fastest race time. If somehow everything is tied, there will have to be a playoff match for seeding.

Point counts will be kept track of using a separate Google Doc.

Bracket stage will be seeded using the top 16 point totals in pools stage. To make it clear, it does NOT matter what rank you get in your pool, the points are all that matters. This system creates more incentive for runners to always perform their best.

In bracket, everyone will start in winners' and the bracket will play out as usual.

Pools stage will be five weeks.
