- Section 1. Definitions
- (a) "USDA" means the United States Department of Agriculture.
- (b) "State" means the State of Missouri.
- (c) "Meat" means any edible portion of livestock, poultry, or fish.
- Section 2. Abolition of USDA Regulations
- (a) All USDA regulations related to meat production and packing within the state of Missouri are hereby abolished.
- (b) The State of Missouri shall establish its own regulations for meat production and packing within the state.
- Section 3. Sale of Uninspected Meat
- (a) Any meat slaughtered and packed within the state of Missouri may be sold without USDA inspection if the slaughterhouse and production facility provides a public live stream of its production and packing facilities.
- (b) The county health department and state agencies shall have the right to inspect the production and packing facilities of any slaughterhouse and production facility that chooses to sell uninspected meat.
- (c) Any slaughterhouse and production facility found to be in violation of state regulations shall be subject to fines and penalties as provided by Missouri law.
- Section 4. Sale of Wild Game Meat
- (a) Any meat hunted, fished, or harvested in the state of Missouri may be served in restaurants as long as it is thoroughly cooked according to current best practices.
- (b) Any restaurant found to be serving improperly cooked wild game meat shall be subject to fines and penalties as provided by Missouri law.
- Section 5. Effective Date
- This Act shall become effective on the first day of the calendar year following its passage and approval by the Governor.
