  10. A flashlight shines across shipping containers. The light
  11. illuminates reflects off each one.
  12.  
  13. DONOVAN "MIKE/MIKEE" PAULSEN, (30) walks forward.
  14.  
  15. He's Caucasian, 6"1, black hair, brown eyes, skinny build.
  16. His medium, styled hair carries a gentlemen's cut, and his
  17. face carries a five o'clock shadow. A visible scar sits below
  18. his left eye.
  19.  
  20. The bags on Don's eyes show through the dim light.
  21.  
  22. Don has an AR slung around the front of him. He wears a pair
  23. of jeans and a tan plate carrier sits over a white button up
  24. shirt. On his shoulder sits a Sentinel Securities ID.
  25.  
  26. Don wears an earpiece.
  27.  
  28. The radio comes to life as MARCUS MATTHEWS, (34) keys his
  29. microphone.
  30.  
  31. Marcus is 6"4, with short auburn hair and brown eyes. He
  32. wears a plate carrier with a white button up and a clip on
  33. tie.

  35. MARCUS
  36. (earpiece)
  37. All teams, radio check.
  38.  
  39. MICHAEL CHAVEZ, (24) keys his radio. He's Hispanic, 5"9 with
  40. short black hair. He wears a black baseball cap and a tan
  41. plate carrier. He carries a VEPR AK patterned rifle.

  43. CHAVEZ
  44. Alpha one, check.
  45.  
  46. PAUL CARTER, (25) keys his microphone. He's a skinny
  47. Caucasian with short brown hair and blue eyes, 6"0. He wears
  48. a pair of square glasses and carries a CZ Bren, with a
  49. Beretta 92 on his hip.

  54. Marcus lets off a sigh into the radio.

  56. Don fumbles with his microphone.

  67. CONRAD MILLER, (28) keys his microphone. He's Caucasian, with
  68. a light tan, brown eyes, and 6"2 with a muscular build. His
  69. tired eyes show under the warehouse lights.

  74. Don yawns. He meets back up with Conrad.

  100. The same setup sits in front of Don.

  120. Don takes out his ear piece and listens again.

  122. A louder and more noticeable thud.

  124. Don puts his earpiece back in.

  135. Don slings his rifle forward.

  140. Don pushes forward and flicks the safety off his rifle.

  145. Louder bangs- Something metallic.
  146.  
  147. His heart races as he moves forward. Don slows down and
  148. begins to control his breaths.
  149.  
  150. More bangs come from next to him.

  152. DON (CONT’D)
  153. Who the fuck is in the container?
  154.  
  155. He looks to both sides of him.
  156.  
  157. Nothing.
  158.  
  159. Don puts his earpiece back in.
  160.  
  161. DON (CONT’D)
  162. (into earpiece)
  163. Be advised, found the source of the
  164. sound.

  166. MARCUS
  167. Copy that, don't open that till we-

  170. Fuck that.

  172. Don takes out a pair of bolt cutters and cuts the locks off
  173. the shipping container. He keeps his hand on his rifle, turns
  174. on its light, and keeps it trained at the door.

  176. Don swings the door open.

  179. INT. SHIPPING CONTAINER - NIGHT
  180.  
  181. His once tired eyes change to those of shock.
  182.  
  183. DON
  184. Oh, fuck.
  185.  
  186. Children lay on cots inside the container. One bucket sits on
  187. each end of the container. Don covers his mouth and tries to
  188. mask the stench of the container.
  189.  
  190. At the very front, a child stands there. Don places his light
  191. on him. His blue eyes shine in the darkness, his bowl cut
  192. blonde hair shining off the light.
  193.  
  194. IND CHILD 1
  195. Mama? Это ты?
  196.  
  197. DON
  198. What?!
  199.  
  200. Don looks past him and shines his light on the others.
  201.  
  202. DON (CONT’D)
  203. English?
  204.  
  205. The child's eyes give Don a blank stare.
  206.  
  207. IND CHILD 1

  211. I don't...
  212.  
  213. Marcus walks into the container.
  214.  
  215. MARCUS
  216. Hey, buddy...
  217.  
  218. Don lowers his weapon. The child starts to rub his eyes.

  221. Hey man, we gotta go to the feds
  222. about this-

  224. Behind Don, Chavez and Carter appear behind him.
  225.  
  226. Marcus gets closer and holds something sharp in his hand.
  227.  
  228. DON (CONT’D)
  229. Hey what the hell are you-
  230.  
  231. Marcus stabs the child in the shoulder with the syringe and
  232. takes it out.
  233.  
  234. DON (CONT’D)
  235. Motherfucker!
  236.  
  237. Don raises his handgun only for Carter and Chavez to put him
  238. in a head lock. Marcus pulls the gun out of his hand.
  239.  
  240. The child falls in front of him. Don struggles to get out of
  241. their grasp as one kicks the back of his leg and brings him
  242. to his knees. He falls forward and lets out a cry of pain as
  243. he falls forward.
  244.  
  245. Marcus picks the child up and sets him down in an empty cot.
  246.  
  247. Marcus walks over to Don.
  248.  
  249. His demeanor is calm, casual.
  250.  
  251. MARCUS
  252. Donovan Paulsen.
  253. (smiles)
  254. You live with your daughter,
  255. formerly Ashley Wren Jackson, now
  256. Ashley Paulsen at 4333 West Bell
  257. Road, apartment 2043 in Phoenix.

  259. Don looks up at him with anger.

  267. Don tries to struggle only to get held back as he looks up at
  268. Marcus.

  275. Don's eyes widen as he looks behind Marcus at the children on
  276. cots.

  279. They're in fucking shipping
  280. containers...

  284. moving train, Don. I'm just
  285. protecting our bottom line. Now.
  286. You get in our way.

  288. He reaches into a holster and pulls out a suppressed Ruger
  289. Mark 2 and chuckles.

  291. MARCUS (CONT’D)
  292. And I'm going to kill your daughter
  293. and make you watch.

  295. He reaches into Don's vest pocket and takes out a picture of
  296. Ash.
  297.  
  298. MARCUS (CONT’D)
  299. I've known you awhile buddy. I know
  300. that you'll be fine, long as your
  301. Ashley stays safe, you're happy. I
  302. shoot you, well she gets everything
  303. doesn't she? Ash is a great kid,
  304. always raises her hand to ask
  305. questions and gets along with all
  306. the guys in her class. A bit
  307. different to what you were back in
  308. the day huh?

  310. Don just looks down at the metal container's floor.

  312. MARCUS (CONT’D)
  313. Besides, capping four of your guys
  314. isn't a very heroic thin-

  316. Don's eyes widen.
  317.  
  318. His fists clench up and he lunges forward.

  320. DON

  323. Marcus just laughs.
  324.  
  325. Carter and Chavez pull him back.

  329. "hero". If he was such a hero his

  336. Don lunges forward but gets pulled back by the two that hold
  337. his arms.

  343. Don goes silent as the anger on his face subsides. He goes
  344. calm, only for a moment.
  345.  
  346. His face changes to that of disgust.

  349. I won't talk.

  351. Marcus reaches into another vest pocket. He takes Don's
  352. wallet.
  353.  
  354. Marcus takes out Don's license snaps a photo of it. He puts
  355. it all back and throws his wallet down.

  357. MARCUS
  358. Pick your shit up and get back to
  359. it then.
  360.  
  361. The two let him go.
  362.  
  363. DON

  366. The three walk out.
  367.  
  368. Don still looks at the container, shock in his eyes.

  370. The kids in cots line the shipping container as Don stands
  371. back up and walks out.

  373. The light shines on half his face. The other part of it stays
  374. dark. He backs away and doesn't take his eyes off the kids
  375. inside.

  377. The light inside the crate goes away as Don closes it.

  382. INT. CORPORATE OFFICE - DAY
  383.  
  384. Don walks past a wall that reads, SENTINEL SECURITIES.

  386. DON
  387. I can't believe they actually took
  388. me.
  389.  
  390. Don walks through a corridor. He wears a suit, the jacket
  391. open.
  392.  
  393. DAWN "MICHELLE" PAULSEN, (34) walks beside him. She's tan
  394. 5"9, with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes.
  395.  
  396. MICHELLE
  397. Well, a lot of things tend to when
  398. you're the "Hero of Houston". Big
  399. damn hero you are.

  401. Don shrugs.
  402.  
  403. DON

  407. Michelle rolls her eyes then stops.

  421. Don raises his arms as anger registers on his face.

  426. She motions for him to enter. Don walks inside. The door
  427. closes behind him.

  435. Don walks forward and enters

  440. Matthews gives Don a warm smile.

  443. Just wanted to congratulate you,
  444. Mr. Paulsen. You're going to great
  445. on our team.

  447. Don shakes his hand and shoots a nervous grin.

  449. DON
  450. So, what am I going to be doing
  451. exactly? I wasn't really clued in
  452. on that.

  454. MARCUS
  455. Just security on high value cargo
  456. from the Ukraine.
  457.  
  458. Don nods.
  459.  
  460. DON
  461. Anything I'll need?

  464. Just everything you used during the
  465. course, no real preference. It's
  466. all you.

  468. Marcus shoots a warm smile to him.

  473. Marcus puts his hand out and offers a handshake.

  475. The two shake hands.

  478. How's tomorrow night sound for your
  479. first day?

  484. Marcus shoots him a grin.

  489. Don walks out and takes the elevator down.

  494. INT. FORD MUSTANG - DAY

  496. Don gets into his car and takes out his phone.
  497.  
  498. He thumbs through his contacts and calls "Ashley". The
  499. contact has a picture of a wrench on it.
  500.  
  501. Below it reads, "My personal mechanic" and "daughter".
  502.  
  503. Don waits a few moments.
  504.  
  505. ASHLEY "ASH" PAULSEN, (18) picks up the call.
  506.  
  507. ASH (O.S.)
  508. Yeah, what's up?
  509.  
  510. DON
  511. Hey, just got off work, you need
  512. anything?

  514. ASH (O.S.)
  515. Snap-Ons would be nice.

  529. Don gets on the freeway. The hair on his arms stick up. His
  530. vision starts to close in as he continues to drive.

  532. JACQUELINE "JACKIE" MILLER, (28) sits next to him. She's 6"0,
  533. average build, and has a decent sized rack. She wears a tan
  534. jacket with a pair of jeans. On the left side of her belt she
  535. wears a Hartford Police badge, on her right wears her police
  536. issue Glock 17.

  539. You know it wasn't going to work
  540. out Don.
  541.  
  542. Don looks forward and drives through traffic.

  559. The empty seat sits next to him. He shakes his head.

  571. The Mustang pulls up to the apartment. Don steps out and
  572. closes the door behind him. He locks the car.

  577. Don walks in and closes the door behind him.

  579. Ash sits on the couch and plays on a PS4. She's a 5"8 blue
  580. eyed brunette and wears a pair of jeans with a green "82nd
  581. Airborne" T-shirt.

  583. Ash's brunette hair is in a ponytail and she wears a red
  584. baseball cap over it.
  585.  
  586. Don motions to the dishes.
  587.  
  588. DON
  589. You plan on getting these done any
  590. time soon?

  592. ASH
  593. Yeah, yeah, sure dad.
  594.  
  595. Don sits on the couch next to her.

  598. You doing okay? What you got there?

  639. A newer model TV sits there plugged into a PS2, a PS4, and a
  640. PS3.

  642. A gaming PC rig sits next to all of those. A walk in closet
  643. sits in front of him. To his right is a bathroom. He goes
  644. into the restroom and comes out to get ready. He's freshly
  645. shaved, his hair in neat order.

  647. He puts on his clothes and puts on his white dress shirt with
  648. a plate carrier, then puts on a pair of jeans.
  649.  
  650. He reaches for a pair of tan combat boots and puts them on.
  651.  
  652. Don goes into the walk in closet, taking an AR out of it then
  653. puts his Sig in its holster and walks out of the room.

  658. Don walks over to Ash. She takes the time to look over.

  661. Gonna go shoot someone?

  667. head out, and when I come back I
  668. want you to make sure those damn
  669. dishes are done.

  671. She sighs and rolls her eyes.

  683. The door to the conex box closes behind him.

  696. Don looks back at Conrad and gives him a scowl.

  736. Don opens the trunk to his mustang and puts his plate carrier
  737. in it.

  739. Conrad reaches his hand out.

  744. Don slams the trunk of his Mustang closed.

  880. He goes into the kitchen and starts washing dishes.

  907. Don's eyes widen. He stops cleaning the dishes and dries his

  6296. him at the police officers that take cover behind their cars.

  6301. Don looks to his right as he watches a white van goes inside
  6302. a parking garage.

  6307. The gunfire intensifies, as Don pushes through the smoke to

  6312. The two run up the ramp and into the main garage. A militia
  6313. soldier hits him with his rifle and knocks him to the ground.

  6359. They hear the van drive off.

  6379. The two run toward an exit sign. Don runs over to the door
  6380. and tries the door. It doesn't open.

  6433. Conrad shows up behind the two and holds a fire extinguisher.
  6434. He hits Nick in the back and causes him to fall over. Conrad

  6442. Don stands up and takes another second to get up.

  6444. Don looks to his left inside the office. Parks holds his
  6445. rifle and advances on the two.

  6447. The two look at the wide eyed Parks and make their way down
  6448. he staircase.

  6450. Gunfire rings out behind them as two police officers make
  6451. their way up the staircase. Turner holds a shotgun in his
  6452. hand while Steele carries a handgun.

  6454. Conrad makes his way straight down the stairs.
  6455.  
  6456. They make it to the next stairwell. The door behind them
  6457. stays behind it is open.
  6458.  
  6459. STEELE, (mid-40s) holds his gun out.

  6467. Conrad tackles Steele into the room. Don looks back and makes
  6468. his way down the staircase.

  6470. Don makes his way another floor down to another stairwell.

  6472. Turner makes his way up the staircase, his shotgun points
  6473. forward. The window behind the stairwell is open.

  6507. Turner falls into a dumpster face first. The top door closes

  6513. Don takes the shotgun and eyes it for a moment. He shakes his
  6514. head, clears it, and throws it off to the side.

  6516. He makes his way down to the first floor. The sirens continue
  6517. in the distance. A SWAT MRAP arrives. Bullets fly through the
  6518. glass as those in the MRAP start to take cover.
