- Where were we before we were left?
- Maybe we were slow dancing somewhere between
- heaven and hell. Wasteland, ash-covered, smoke-
- filled, waltzing in the ruins, in the middle of a war.
- Where would we be if we left?
- Perhaps flying on the highway, running away from
- A futureless land. You have always wanted to just
- Leave it all behind, drive to the world's end to hide.
- We were running, running and running but still ended
- Up at the same place where we started. The young only
- Know to run but maybe war is in our blood and there are
- Some things you can't outrun.
- The world shall fall with -- shouts and screams
- When anger burns down rationality, slow but
- Sure, will you let the wolves sharpen your teeth
- To a knife they can use to plunge into your back
- When words become bullets and your lips feel
- like a smoking gun, will you let pain fill your
- Veins, will you let rage escape from your throat
- The world shall fall with -- rain and storm
- When frozen hearts stole the little warmth
- Left on this land, will you still remember you have
- a hand to hold out, a voice longing for music
- When your last home is a ship destined to
- Become wreckage at the bottom of the ocean
- Will you drown your fear with tears and wait
- Or will you sing, repaying the cold waves in song
- Amidst the shouts and screams, find strength in
- A melody, a remedy, maybe someone would sing along
- Sing about a little thing called hope, a name long
- Forgotten, a creature who found her home inside
- A maze, waiting for someone, anyone, for lost souls
- Don't ask why it has to be you, just stay with me for a
- Moment in this fading glory of a city. Dance with me
- On the edge of the world, sing with me through the night
- And maybe, just maybe, we can keep the dying light alive.
