  1. Alder’s Ledge is currently trying to raise funds to help an organization that rescues North Korean refugees. These refugees are in hiding in China and have no way to get to freedom. They can’t risk being seen or caught by the Chinese since they will face forcible repatriation to North Korea. And if sent back they are at risk of severe punishments (including death).
  2.
  3. The organization is called Liberty in North Korea (LiNK). You can learn more about them by visiting their website: http://libertyinnorthkorea.org/
  4.
  5. Once at their website you can read stories of refugees who escaped from North Korea and were rescued by LiNK. These stories are just one of the reasons that Alder’s Ledge decided to get involved. Our founding member was in South Korea a couple years back and fell in love with the people and their culture. Being able to see these stories of people, who’s country he could only look at from across the demilitarized zone, allowed for him to make this passion dear to the rest of us.
  6.
  7. We encourage you to visit Alder’s Ledge and read all our articles on North Korea as well as all the information LiNK has to offer. You can find links to these sources in the tweets below.
  8.
  9. Most of all we want to encourage everyone to consider donating. As little as 10$ could make all the difference in bringing another refugee to safety or not. Your generosity, your sacrifices both great and small, allows these refugees a new beginning.
  10.
  11. On November 1st Alder's Ledge will be launching a small twitter campaign to spread awareness of both this fundraising effort and the plight of the North Korean people. Our goal is to both raise awareness of LiNK, the trials North Koreans face once they cross the border, and the potential future these refugees have if they can make it to safety. The hashtag to link all our tweets will be #BridgeToNorthKorea (taken from LiNK's Bridge To North Korea campaign).
  12.
  13. We will be starting at 2pm New York Time (EST), 7pm London Time, 8pm Berlin Time, 8pm Jerusalem Time, 12pm (noon) Denver Time, and 11am San Diego Time. If you have any questions please contact @alders_ledge on twitter.
  14.
  15. The Tweets below have all the links you will need. Feel free to make your own tweets as you wish, just please link to the fundraising page and use the hastag #BridgeToNorthKorea.
