Episode 19: Liege Cup Winner Quarters


Tonight was the night of the Liege Cup held in the glorious Demacia Dome with over 600,000 seats available inside this state-of-the-art arena with the turf being a mix of Normal tiles for combat, grassy turfs on the ground, a big pool of water at the east, and some rocks in the south. Overall, this arena was the hallmark of Archanea as a trainer to compete in.

Multiple people stormed in to buy their food and get to their seats before the tourney starts, among them all are Alex, Kana, Lucina, and Severa. Their Monsters sitting down next ton their respective trainers(Armads taking up 2 seats.) with Kana holding a bucket of popcorn and pop as the females merely have some pop and candy to snack on. Kana for his part look back to normal following him having sex with his moms although occasionally he still flashback to either being balls deep in Rin or getting his asshole plowed ruthlessly by Edelgard. "Man, I never can get used to watching these battles...they're so cool.." Hearing him speak his thoughts on this, Alex couldn't help but agree with him.

"Yeah...always kinda nice to see our parents face off with no one at the cost of death..." She mutters while leaning into her chair as Lucina agrees with her. "Indeed, and this is the first time I'll watch mother compete..." Both the princesses were pretty excited to watch Cordelia battle. Although while Lucina isn't sure on whether she wants her to win due to their plans... "I hope mom clean sweep this tourney! Hell, I'm expecting it!" Severa is firmly on her mom's side to win this, netting an annoyed glance from Alex who scoffs.  "Have you forgotten why we're here in the first place? That we want my dad to win this for our plan?" "And have you forgotten..." Severa leans over in her chair to look at Alex with a scowl of her own. "Just how I dislike your father? You honestly think that he can not only help us, but beat mom?" She gives Alex a smirk and shake her head. "We don't need him, and the soo-"

"Ah, so you have an idea to stop the incoming war?"

Both Kana and Lucina, sitting between Alex and Severa with their monsters sigh with the incoming argument ahead as Alex continues. "No? You don't? Then shut up and watch my own man destroy your mother." Right before Severa would counter back, Lucina raise a hand to shut them all up before pointing down. "Look, they are walking in the arena..."

Down on the arena, we see the 8 entrants walking in a line with their monsters next to them as the announcer call out their names one by one. Lead by Ferdinand and Assal, both of them waving at the crowd followed by Cordelia riding on Hera as she too wave at the crowd, with Severa cheering loudly for her with Lucina joining in with the crowd cheering for the fan favorite with a much quieter voice. After her is Sylvain with his Durag, one can see that many of the females are tossing in roses at him as he pick one up and sniff it to their joy.

Next up was Felix Fraldarius who didn't get as much of a fanfare, but still got an applaud from the crowd with him and Mercial acknowledging the crowd with a nod. Behind him is Cherche Lurkinson with her dragon, Marche next to her stepping with heavy footsteps as her trainer walk with a smile and wave to the crowd. Behind her is the heir tot he Hale line. Adam Taurus

Adam and Lagoon waved to the crowd with cheers to their name as the last contender, Jalen Pruett with Marth, strode at the end without looking at the crowd once until he glances up and see Alex smiling down at him with a rare smile which make him chuckles as he adjust his hat on his head and smiles briefly at her before resuming his normal face. "....Remember..we're doing this..for them." Jalen clenches his fist while looking down at his Garu who nods at him with confidence brimming in his body. "...A tourney that we need to win....Good grief, no pressure."

Just as they all stand before the crowd, the box for the nobles open up their curtains and reveal that a majority of them are in attendance including the likes of Rodrigue, Ulster(With Olivia there for Sylvain), Minerva, Evelyn(Edelgard's mother), And finally 3 men that Jalen hates a lot..

The first man was skinny with dark skin and a short grey beard on his face with a hat that covers his balding spot wearing blue fancy noble clothing..This is Gregorio Hale, the middle sibling.The one next to him with a lighter skin complexion and yellow robes and skinny like his brothers with a fancy hat on is Franklin Hale, the youngest sibling who also have grey hair. And then there's Marcus wearing red robes with the Hale Crest on it, a drawing of a roaring Naga on his back.

"...Ah..So that's Sidney's child down there.." Franklin pour a cup of wine for him to sip on as Gregorio read up some papers on Jalen with Marcus listening to the reports as he begin to read. "1st Place at the Rank E Hydra Cup with no losses, 1st place at the Official Rank E Cup with no losses including making one monster retire for good...And that's it on him."

"Doesn't seem to be that much of a battler unlike Sidney..." Marcus mutters to the 2 rubbing his chin as Franklin scoff. "Well, maybe he's not that good, with all of his wins being flukes against the likes of Gautier and Fraldarius..." He point down to where Adam is at. "Your grandson should be more than enough to handle him if they fight."

"......." Marcus kept his thoughts to himself as he wouldn't doubt that Adam can win, but at the same time he can't underestimate his nephew. Afterall, whatever Sidney knew about monster battling and trainer must had been inherited by his son....

And as much as he hate it, He had to admit that Sidney was a prodigy at Monster Handling...
"We'll see..." Marcus remarks as he look to the doors in the box and see the Lowells entering with Hector, Chrom, Lissa, and Frederick--Chrom's retainer--  as well as Raphael and Helswrath, the monsters of Chrom and Hector coming in to the roaring applause of the arena crowd.

Hector lead them all to sit in the room as he soon walk to a mic and tap it to check it before speaking.
"Hello everyone, I am quite pleased to see the Demacia Dome filled to the max capacity to witness who will hold the pride and honor of being my son's partner in next month's Prince Cup."

At this, he gestures to his son and his Antlan, the former waving at the crowd who cheers his name with Cordelia looking up at him fondly, understanding that she is the best candidate for Chrom to work with. Back to King Hector who begin to speak again. "Regardless of whoever will win, I hope that the champion will work well with Prince Chrom and bring us victory over Nohr's Prince Xander and his chosen partner!"

The crowd erupts with cheers mixed with jeers towards Prince Xander and Nohrians with Kana seeing Alexis looking slightly annoyed at this. Not helping is Severa joining in the jeers. "(I swear I hate people sometimes...)" She also noticed Lucina looking slightly uncomfortable and taps Severa on her shoulder to stop her, which doesn't work that much due to the younger princess glaring at her...but she relents after a while.

"And now...I present to you...the bracket for the Liege Cup!" Hector directs everyone's attention to both  jumbotrons on the south and north side of the dome as they come on to show the bracket. The screens showcase the bracket as followed with the 1st Rounds being Mercial vs Marche, Hera vs Durag, Aymr vs Assal, and Lagoon vs Marth.

"Aha!"Ferdinand grins and turn to Edelgard who look slightly unamused. "It would seem that fate once again decrees that we are to do battle, Edelgard!" "Right.." She sighs as she look over to where Jalen is at with Rin rubbing her forehead. "(More importantly, we have to tell Jalen that we know about what Kana told us...)"

"Looks like we're gonna fight first, Felix.." Cherche turns to him who is nodding at her. "Yeah..." "Well, I do hope you have been keeping up with your training like I have with Marche." She gives him a small smile as Marche growls at Mercial, challenging him which the Blue Hare responds by stamping the ground. "...No worries.." Felix crosses his arms "I have..And I will win." She chuckles, liking his confidence in himself."Good to hear you believe in yourself."

"Soooo..." Sylvain mosey up to Cordelia. "It's me and you, huh?" Cordelia have her eyes closed as she walk off with Hera towards the dugout. "Gautier, not now...there's bigger things for me to ponder about than listening to you trying to gather favor with me for the 100th time.." Watching her walk off make Sylvain frown. "Sheesh..I was just trying to make peace.." Durag grunts, supporting his trainer who look up at him and smile. "Yh, I'm good..Just gonna have to win this one!"

"....." Jalen have his hands in his pockets as he glance up at the noble box to see the nobles up there landing his eyes on the three Hales up there and scowling, having some very personal business with them. Just as he walk off, he hear some footsteps behind him and turn with Marth to see Adam and Lagoon approaching him.

"Hello, you are Jalen Pruett, correct?" Jalen can feel the insincere tone ringing off of his voice, but play it cool for now. "...I am...and you're Adam Taurus, right?"

"Yes I am.." He extend a hand to him "I must say, it's a honor to meet a relative of mines..." If Jalen felt any shock or surprise at this, he didn't show it on his face as he merely nods at him, not wanting to shake hand with the guy. "So...you're related to the Hales..." He merely commented on that fact as he look down at Lagoon sipping his alcohol and burp much to Marth's disgust. "And you chose a Kato as your monster.." "I find them quite interesting..Very high INT and SPD of course, but their POW techs are actually quite good and I trained Lagoon in his POW to make good use of them."

Jalen take a small booklet from his jacket and flip through it."You don't say...here." He tosses Adam the book and walk off. "It's a nice book, I'm sure you would like it." Adam raise an eyebrow and frown at his back, not liking how his attempt to worm his way through Jalen's guard didn't work. But as he look at the cover, his heart skip a beat and he scowls quite harshly.. "Adam's Nefarious Deeds" He place the book in his pocket without reading it and walk off to the dugout where Ferdinand and Cordelia is at, the 2 of them giving him his own berth.

As everyone is off of the arena, The Liege Cup begins with Mercial vs Marche. The fight went as expected with Mercial landing a couple of hits and ran off to run the clock down. Felix may not like this strat, but he knows that Mercial beating Marche in a fisticuffs duel is out of the question considering how much stronger Marche is. However, Cherche and Marche surprises everyone when the Ragnarok started to use Flutters to blow Mercial against the wall harshly. Felix realized his mistake for running away which allowed Marche to get more guts so she can attack. And with less than 5 seconds, Mercial couldn't get enough dmg on Marche to win.


Rodrigue sighs in disappointment at his younger son's defeat, but was at least a bit proud for him to attempt this. He will have to tell Felix on how to deal with Dragons it would seems as the next round starts between Cordelia and Sylvain, the latter waving to the box where Olivia wave down with Ulster grinning proudly. He tells Minerva that his son shall win this with no issues for him.

10 seconds later, he will have to eat his words as Durag is frozen on the spot KO from Hera's Blizzard attack as the crowd erupts with Cordelia's name being chanted. Inside the box, Minerva is all smiles as Ulster just frowns and facepalm, not enjoying what he just saw with Durag unable to get close to the Daton who spammed Ice Bombs after Ice Bombs before finishing it with Blizzard.

Down there on the arena dugout, Jalen is leaning against the wall near the southern entrance to the ring as Sylvain frowns and walk towards there and enter the dugout. "Phew..she's certainly tough...that must be what's it like to have the prince as your sparring partner.." He mutters as Jalen listens with him looking at the Garu trainer. "Man, this tourney is gonna be rough...good luck in your match, eh?" Jalen stares at him before nodding back, getting a smile from the redhead as he walk off. "Should had opened up with Charge..." Sylvain paused as he turn to Jalen who is looking at the ring. "Had you broke the zone, you would had forced Hera to be close to Durag. Now whether you could box that Daton in a tight corner...that's up to you...but regardless, it's far better than staying away from her."

"I...I see.." Sylvain haven't really thought about that, and should teach his monster Charge. "Thanks.." He nods and smiles as he walk off, with Jalen shrugging it off. Unaware that Alexis saw the conversation down there and smiled as she knew her dad probably gave him a tip.

The next round is Aymr vs Assal with Edelgard and Rhiannon walking towards the exit with Aymr behind them, The female dragon-beetle ready for combat. The lesbian couple walk to the entrance and pass Jalen with Edelgard stopping before him and leveling a glance at him. "....We need to talk.." "?" Jalen raise an eyebrow at this as she speaks up before heading out. "....Kana told us..." For once Jalen looks extremely shocked as he get off the wall with Edelgard and Rin entering the ring with Aymr with Ferdinand on the other side with his Lesione, Assal, ready for combat as well.

"...what..." Jalen shakes his head as he look up to where the kids are at with widen eyes. "..The fuck?" Alexis speaks with a concerned look as Kana clears his throat. "Kana..." Lucina turns to the 13-year old with a slight frown.. "What did you and your moms do...?" He look between the 3 ladies and gulps.. "..I..may had told them who i was to them during sex.."

"You didn't..."
".....Would explain why you were so quiet last night..."
"YOU DID WHAT!??!?!?!" Severa screams out loud at him with a disbelieving look, scaring Kana with Armads grunting at Severa with a angry tone ringing from his armor as he place a hand before his trainer. "Well...ummm...You know how Mr. Pruett came over...and...well...I just.."
"Basically Kana did a good thing..." Alexis defends him as Severa scowls and turn away as Lucina sighs.. "What's done is done..we just have to see what's gonna happen next."

The battle between Assal and Aymr started off pretty good for Assal who used Lesihorne--A loud scream from it --To lower Aymr's guts and proceed to spam the attack from afar. But then eventually, Aymr would block the attack via covering her head to block the noise while she got closer and closer and then wallop him with her Beabang attack followed by a Horn Attack that sent the Lesione to the pool KO'ED with 45 seconds left on the clock.

Ferdinand was upset, but took the loss rather well and congratulated the 2 girls for beating him as he went with Assal to the medical room. As Edelgard and Rin walk back to the exit and passed Jalen with the latter stopping before nodding. "See ya in the Semis..."

Jalen eyes her walking off with Aymr strolling past him and Marth as he sees Adam entering the ring with Lagoon, sporting an angry look on his face...


"Well Marth..." He look down at his Garu and then adjust his jacket collar. "Ready for a family reunion?" The Garu nods with a smirk  as they both take their first steps on the arena. "Let's do this." Jalen adjust his hat as he get ready for his battle...

The last match of the quarterfinals is Lagoon vs Marth with their trainers behind their monsters. Adam is currently seething at Jalen who have his usual stoic expression on his face.  As Marth hops on his feet, Lagoon wipes his mouth with his claws to get rid of the alcohol stains off of his lips and begin to sway in a drunken manner."...You have a lot of nerve....Jalen." Adam growls with Jalen rolling his shoulders. "Eh, come again? I can't hear you over the sound of this crowd..."

"You know what I am referring to!"Adam yells and whip out the book he was handed to by Jalen as he wave it in the air. "Trying to slander the Hale's good name out of pure jealousy..." He shakes his head with a sneer. "Should had expected as such from you, Don't you think you and that Garu of yours are punching too high for your weight?"


"I dunno, We've been winning every single tourney with no issue at all.." Jalen shrugs before he points ahead at Adam. "The real question is...have you actually read that book?" "No, I haven't...I don't need to read it when it have such an accusing tone to it." Jalen put on a scowl as he lowers his hat. "Ah...so you haven't read it then..Do me a favor and read the first chapter..""

"Fuck off, I was gonna go easy on you, but I'll have Lagoon carve your Marth to a bloody mess!" Lagoon snickers as he extend his claws and sways left to right with a drunk look, Marth not affected at all by this. "...Was never gonna show mercy to you to begin with..." Jalen growls with his hands balled up in his pockets.


The bell ring out as Lagoon get attacked by Marth, but he dodges all of the Wild Slashes the Garu throws out and counter back with a mix of Slash and Thrust Claws. One of the Slash Claws swiping on Marth's chest and draw a tiny bit of blood. "Ha! Take that, you piece of shit!" Adam taunts Jalen from across the ring as Marth rubs his chest and see the blood on his paw...But shrugs it off as he balls his fists up.

"(Katos are extremely fast and despite drinking so damn much, they have among the highest magical prowess in all of monsters..but their strength are average as well as their dexterity. Their stamina and toughness are very low tho...POW techs are the way to go.)"


Marth put his arms up to block a Turn Claw from Lagoon which involves it Somersaulting towards the Garu and coming down with a downward slash across his arms. "Now! Wild Kick!" Marth crouches low and suddenly rise up with a somersault kick that Lagoon backflips out of the way. "And then Wild Slash!" But it was a trick as Marth soon press off the ground with his toes and rush forward with a claw and rake right into Lagoon's back due to it being in the middle of it's backflip and knock it to the ground in pain.

"....Huh..." Chrom mutters as he watches this match with everyone in the noble box. He notices the Hales to the far left mixed with emotions from anger to apprehension over this. "Never thought I would see Adam performng not that well against someone who's not a noble.." "Hey bro, you know this Jalen guy?" Lissa ask him as she's into the match. "Well...remember the Geonyte incident months ago?" She look at him with a confused look before remembering it and nodding. "Well..him and a couple of other trainers were apparently the ones who helped stop it from getting worse."

"I recall milord telling me about this.." Frederick speaks up from behind Chrom. "There was also an altercation between him and milady, Cordelia, correct?" "Well...Yeah, they almost got into it." Chrom lightly chuckles from nervousness, Cordelia ranted and ranted about the disrespectfulness of that commoner all week long during that incident.

"She doesn't seem to like him very much.." Lissa mutters.

"No..but..for what it's worth.." They witness Marth blocking a Slash Claw and knock Lagoon back with an another Wild Slash, this time over to the rocky section of the arena. "He seems good."

Meanwhile with the Hales.. "What the hell is that Adam doing?!?" Franklin shouts at Marcus who is leaning back with a calm posture of his hands locked together. "Marcus!!" "Now, now calm down, Franklin..." Marcus shakes his finger at the slightly younger noble. "Adam is like a Naga who tend to play with his food...we have about 30 seconds left.." He take a sip of his beer.. "Let the boy have his fun.."

"Doesn't seem like he's having fun down there.." Gregorio mutters as down below, Adam snarls as Marth lands another Wild Slash, making Lagoon skid right before his trainer. "Damn you, you fucking bastard..." "So, are you gonna read that book or nah? Would save you the trouble in the future.." Jalen and Marth stand still with their arms crossed with bored looks, this isn't a challenge to them and they know it.

"YOU WANT ME TO READ YOUR BOOK!?!?" He screams as he take the book out and rip it to shreds in his hands as the remains of the pages flutter down... "NOW YOU HAVE NO PROOF OF WHATEVER MISDEEDS I'VE DONE!!!" Jalen merely look at the ripped book and shakes his head.. "That book...was merely a list of food I brought earlier this week."

"!!!" Adam pales as he look down and pick up some of the paper and see that he was right...this was nothing but a decoy. "I just decided to fuck with you concerning some of the rumors I've heard, and judging by your reaction.." He points at him after adjusting his hat..  "Understand that from here on, this is a court with Marth as the Judge, Jury, and Executioner..."

The crowd murmurs to themselves at the show before them, what the hell was he talking about? Whatever it was, it was not making Adam happy one bit as he look around and see the confused looks on Ferdinand, Sylvain, Felix, and Cherche. The accusation looks from Rin and Edelgard, and the sheer hatred Cordelia is giving him was enough to shake him to his soul.

"You..you damned bastard..." He shakes with fury.. "You should had died just like your father..." This make Jalen widen his eyes with a burst of anger before it shimmers down to a tranquil fury.. "..That bastard..." Up in the stands, Alexis balls her fists in anger with Alm looking down with the same expression she have with Kana and Lucina looking at her with concern. Even Severa knew not to cross certain lines with the Pruetts with Sidney being one of them as she look at the arena, waitng for Jalen's reaction.

Even the trainers below and nobles above them had various expressions of shock and disgust at Adam's claim.


"Unbelievable, to hear such a claim from a fellow noble..." Ferdinand shook his head and felt rightous fury within.. "He is no noble, but a monster!" Sylvain frowns, not liking what he just heard. "Man, there's a line that you just don't cross...that's one of them." "This battle is as good as over.." Felix leans against the wall and shakes his head. "The question is how Pruett is gonna end it with his Garu..."

"Honestly, We should beat the shit out of Adam after this tourney..."Rin mutters to Edelgard who raise a hand to quiet her down, but it doesn't work as Rhiannon is the kind of gal who is quite easily angered. "But Edel! We can't just--" "Rhiannon, it's cool.." Edelgard points up to Jalen who's balling his fist with a silent rage radiating off of him. "Jalen will handle this..."

"(His father died...?)" Cordelia frowns upon hearing this as she glances over to Jalen and back to Adam. "(As despicable as it is to mention that, I wonder how would Adam know such a thing...)" She rubs her chin in thought... "(No matter...I'll ask around later..)"

The Hales shook their head, They knew Adam was a hothead, but to speak of one of those secrets in public was simply too much...they have to cut ties with him to save their own end...

"I hope that you aren't thinking of making him the next ruler of House Hale, right?"
King Hector glares at Marcus from across the room, sending fear down the older man's spine. "...We will have a lengthy discussion about his removal from the spot of taking over, My lord.." He speaks up.

"(Damned punk have set us back by many moves!..He shall pay dearly for this and then some...)" Marcus was filled with anger..
"TWISTER CLAW!!!"
Adam howled with rage as Lagoon sneers and extend his claws before slashing three times to deliver 3 giant tornadoes towards Marth, each one carving a path of chaos as they get closer to him. "(No one have ever taken these hits and not get injured!)"

"Burn Knuckle."

Marth ignites his fist on fire and rocket through all of the tornadoes in a line, breaking them in the process as he slams his fist into Lagoon's face, sending the Kato through a rock and outside of the ring KO'ED to the sheer shock of mostly everyone.

The noble box was silent, Hales in their corner struggling to pick their jaws off the ground with The Lowells blinking their shock away. In the dugout, while Ferdinand was strugging to comprehend. both Sylvain and Felix wore similar expressions of knowing what's it like to fight against Jalen. Rin felt her asshole tighten and then loosen up while Edelgard had to rub her own forehead from the fact that she just witnessed a Garu break through 3 tornadoes while it was nothing..


"(What the hell was that?)" Cordelia have never heard or read about such an attack for a Garu as she watches Lagoon being carried off to the medical room while Adam follows the medical staff with a look of sheer rage aimed at Jalen . She turn her attention towards him and see him walking back to the dugout with his Garu as the other male trainers come towards him and ask him questions regarding his training methods and how Marth can use Burn Knuckle(Well, only Ferdinand and Sylvain asked questions, Felix probably just questioned one thing.)

"..No matter." She turn around and pat Hera's head. "No one will beat me here...I'll have to win this for Chrom's sake."(edited)


With that last match, the Winner Semi's will be as followed. Marche vs Hera and Aymr vs Marth. After that would be the Consolation match for 3rd place before the two winners will duke it out in the grand finals. Cherche and Marche look quite nervous at facing the 1st seed, but Felix walks over to her and give her some last min advice. Cordelia look very calm as she pets Hera some more, confident in her assured victory here. As Rhiannon gives Aymr some last min prep talk, Edelgard glances over the crowd and see Kana up there where she smiles and wave, getting the boy to wave back, happy to see his two moms. And lastly, we see Jalen leaning against the wall looking only at the arena with Marth reading more books..

A 10 min break will ensure before the Winner's Semis.
