  1. Jump 174: Remember Me
  2. >Two of Cups, reversed (A false promise or premature commitment.)
  3. >Age: 29
  4. >Location: Neo-Paris
  5. Why in the name of god is there a neo in front of Paris. Paris is already named for another city, but we don't talk about Ys.
  6. >Identity: Doctor
  7. >Drawbacks: Brain Drain (+300), Bounty (+300)
  8. So... I'm just a doctor, except an amnesiac of one, and assassins keep trying to kill me. This will be an interesting stay.
  9. >Calling It To Mind (1000)
  10. Well, at least I have a handy way to cross-reference all of my memories in an expedient fashion. Would be helpful if I had any. Would be even more helpful if I had hundreds of lifetimes of memories to sift through.
  11. >Combat Programming (900)
  12. Was I an army doctor? Neat, I know how to fight now.
  13. >Actually A Doctor (Free, Doctor)
  14. Well, of course I am. A neurologist, or at least an aspiring one, by all indications.
  15. >Minored In (Memory) Engineering (800, Doctor)
  16. Huh. Neat. I could replicate the sensen if had the cause. I wonder what one could do with a datajack that feeds directly into the brain, though, beside simple memory manipulation?
  17. >A Matter of Perspective (500, Doctor)
  18. THIS IS WHAT I NEEDED IN SCP- I mean, ah, memetic counter-agents working in real-time are definitely helpful.
  19. >Path to Recovery (100)
  20. Now this sounds like an incredibly useful thing. Fixing memory alterations gone wrong. A very good idea. But then... are memory alterations even all that healthy? Or perhaps those are the thoughts that got me in this mess to start with.
  21. >Money (x2) (0)
  22. An extra forty thousand dollars, or the local equivalent, if I have a job that pays up to that amount. Useful, if I actually feel like working.
  23. >Aesthetic Control (Free, Doctor)
  24. Well, if I know how to make a sensen, I should know how to tweak it to my preference, shouldn't I?
  25.
  26. So, the world here is a very odd one thanks to everyone screwing with memories, and I don't even know why this sticks out to me. And then someone shoots me ten minutes later. I mean, that's normally a bad thing, except... you know, I SURVIVE it when I might have expected otherwise (though all my knowledge of gunshot wounds is purely academic). It hurts like hell, but I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to heal from a gunshot wound as fast as I did. And we are talking minutes at most, instead of just bleeding out as a normal person would.
  27.
  28. The next time I deal with something like this, it's a daylight mugging and they forget to bother with my wallet. Of course, this didn't go as well as they'd have hoped thanks to the combat programming, and I kill them. Mostly the part that didn't go as well as I'd hoped involves the part where they died. The part where I moved far more quickly than I should have been able to was where problems happened, because that's the difference between a punch to the head dazing the attacker, and their neck snapping instead.
  29.
  30. From that point, I move forward, and do some research (and my paranoia ramps up quickly). Looks like my old memories might be stored, maybe; looks like I need to find some way to get in touch with others to help. And there's this ridiculously-named resistance movement that might be able to help. As time moves on, it appears that only certain people seem to actually be able to harm me that easily, those that are trying to collect a price on my head, while others have nearly no effect at all. This makes the brute-force method of breaking into the Bastille an effective one, and... well. Where we go from there...
