- JS Shinano is a Yashima-class Aviation Battleship in service with the JMSDF. Laid down in the early 1990's, prior to the collapse of the Soviet Union, she was intended to serve primarily as a naval gunfire support vessel, with carrying capacity for a number of helicopters and V/STOL fighters.
