Renegade jump part 3

Part 3

I found myself in a place... if it could be called that. I recognized it as where I went between jumps. It was like a white void inhabited by a being of golden light.

“Thank you for your assistance.” She told me.

“Well… I didn’t really have much choice there. Say isn’t there some reward or something I am supposed to get for this?”

“Oh… well yes.”

“Alright well how about you give it to the other girl”

That stunned jumpchan I think she was trying to figure out if she had heard me right.

I continued “Look, she thinks you hated her, she thought you were just torturing her for fun. I don’t know what went on between you two but It seems like things were pretty bad.”

She sighed and nodded “Yes… things did get rather bad… I never purposefully meant to harm her and when I saw the extent of to which she was willing to go for revenge I brought her to you in hopes you could fix her.”

“So you set this up from the beginning.”

She just nodded. “Her machines and spells were inadequate to do what she desired. She just didn’t realize it.”

I sighed and rubbed the bridge of my nose I considered chewing her out but remembered all the good things I had gotten from her.

“Can you tell me why she might have the impression you hate her.”

“I am sorry… I had forgotten how fragile you humans were.”

“So…I don’t think she is going to try this again, how about you let her go home.”

“Very well is there anything else?”

I sighed… “Yeah… I think…  I think an apology would go a long way to mending things. I get her time as a jumper is over but there is no need for things to end so bitterly. While I doubt it will clear up all the bad feelings I don’t think you wanted things to end the way they did.”

She sighed “Very well… I had no intentions of ever hurting her despite her beliefs. I chose her originally because I thought I could help her.”

We stood together the former jumper and I before the portal. She looked anxious and scared.
“Are you sure this is a good idea?”
“Look I know your different than who you used to be, I know you may have done things you weren’t proud of. However shouldn’t you at least give your family a chance to understand? I mean it may be a bit tough early on but just be patient with them. They may not understand everything that you have gone through but that doesn’t mean they won’t care..”

“I suppose…” she muttered still unsure “You know it’s funny I am hundreds of years old and yet the idea of disappointing my parents is still scary.”

“Some things never change; Also you talked about wanting to go on adventures and do new things. You still have your powers and from what I have seen they are pretty amazing. Just because your chain has ended doesn’t mean your adventure has. In a way I think your adventure is just beginning.”

She laughed despite herself and smiled “Thank you I suppose your right, your not to shabby yourself. When you do get your spark come back and visit me alright.”

“Sure.” I told here.

She smiled gave me a hug and walked through the portal to her world. I watched as the portal grew dimmer and faided and couldn’t help but wonder what my own return would be like.
