Yeah. Astaroth is basically the bastardized, Christian demon version of Mesopotamian Goddess of Love/Sx/War/Political Power Ishtar.
I think of Astaroth as being her last epithet.
And since Ishtar is female and Astaroth is implied to be male, I just see him as this androgynous, self-absorbed creature.
Instead of being a goddess of various aspects of life, they're now just a demon of, well, basically media.
Which is why Vox would be their thrall.

But there's no relation between Astaroth and Asmodeus.
