- Hey guys, how’s it goin?
- A very unusual thing happened on Friday. Improving my NPC Panel de Pon V-Hard time from 18:59 to 17:00 is not unusual in and of itself. These kinds of improvements have happened in this franchise for years. It's made unusual by the fact that the record is 16:59. I cannot recall any time in Puzzle League speedrun history where the top two times in the hardest VS COM category were separated by one second. I would do that in Easy modes all the time, but never in the hardest mode. Not even Tetris Attack V-Hard, a run that is more than twice as short, is that close. Considering that I “rage”-quit my session on Sunday, I have a feeling I'm going to go mad before I improve the time.
- I've also done just about everything I care to do with ZEXAL. Every non hat-guy story is under an hour and both difficulty hat guy stories have a run posted, each with a 40-2 record that demands improvement at some point. That will come at a later date to be determined. From every Saturday now until the marathon on April 18, I will practice my Yuma story Duel Champion run with my own commentary in order for it to be in tip top shape... well, as well as I am going to be at public speaking, anyway.
- In other stream news, I think I have gotten to the bottom of 80% of my problems with #PoopNet, my poopy levels of inconsistent Internet that has plagued me for the past three years. Most of my problem has been caused by the phenomenon known as “bufferbloat,” a condition that bottlenecks data packets through buffers that are too large for the network to support. The way I think of it is this: imagine what would happen if four lanes full of vehicles suddenly tried to merge into two lanes of road. There would be a lot of congestion. Bufferbloat creates latency and live streaming is not a thing that works well with high latency. The way I have, more or less, fixed this is to limit my bandwidth. My cable connection is rated for 200/20mbps, but after I set my download/upload limits to 180/18, I started to have much fewer problems with Twitch streams. Now I'm just somehow subject to the whims of the environment as to whether I drop the connection. Extreme heat or wind seems to mess things up most often. Who knows if I will ever get to the bottom of that...
- And finally, the winter 2020 anime season is wrapping up and, with that, I have reached the end of the only show that I have cared to watch religiously in the last five years, Interspecies Reviewers. (No seriously, I haven't followed any other anime so closely since Little Busters!) It has such a lewd premise, but its best quality is how much it can make you laugh. It's one of the most effective comedies I have ever experienced. If you like lewd things and are open to different types of things, you'll LOVE Interspecies Reviewers.
- This does leave my Saturday nights with a bit of a void. It was a tradition for me to watch the latest Interspecies Reviewers episode shortly after its release. Maybe I can take this opportunity to actually get some community work done? Or maybe I will find another show to watch? I did hear good things about BOFURI. MMO newb raises her defense to the point that she gets the strength of a demigod in the game? Something about that premise speaks to me. I might just binge that one of these days.
- I will admit that my city is currently under a stay-at-home order and, because my boss is concerned with having everyone at the office at the same time, I am facing the prospect of reduced work days in the foreseeable future. Perhaps I could use that downtime to watch BOFURI or get caught up on things.
- That’s my life story for the week. Until next time, everyone, thanks for reading!
