Cassius took to bathing in the river to clean himself from one of his periodic expulsions.

The party decided to investigate the abandoned ruins of the previous shrine. Along the way, Jinx spotted a deliberately created den for Vrocks up in the mountains, and investigated its contents. It appeared to be created somewhat hastily by mages using transmutation spells. The Vrocks inside were reluctantly cohabitating, as if compelled to by an outside force. The Vrocks themselves were larger than standard, as if deliberately selected for their size. The Vrocks appeared to be cursed.

Investigating the ruins, they found a lockbox with a note and scroll within. It appeared to be addressed to Ronja. It read as follows.

"Dearest Ronja, it appears I was too late! The shrine is already gone. To my understanding, the fiends have moved up north. Aris was no help to me - a war wizard with no intent on paying men for a suicide mission. I am moving on to Darkhold to seek aid to move forward. I am afraid the situation looks bleak. The towns to the south can only hold out for so much longer, and I fear they are plotting their final assault." - Tonks

Attempting to scry on Tonks, the party were unsuccessful, establishing he had gained immunity to scrying or divination in his travels.

Recalling information on Issac Darkwater, they found out he is known as a controversial hothead with a good military track record. He has quite literally toppled cults before, such as a cult of Orcus and a cult of Malcanthet. He is a brawny man who is straightforward in his approach. He is more bold than a competent military strategist, and is known for taking great risks. He is controversial, and has some noble support. He is backed by house Obarskyr and some other noble houses.

Using a scroll of sending, the party sent a message to commander Hoslow in Suzail about the Vrocks and an ambush waiting in the yellow snake pass. Furthermore, they specified the Vrocks were corrupted, and requested the message to be passed on to Issac Darkwater.

The party recalled Skullwatch was the first town to fall to the cult, and has been vacated for about two weeks. Additionally, Corm Orp is the farthest west town in Cormyr. It is a winemaking town with vineyards, and is being exploited by the denizens of Darkhold in recent times. Corm Orp has a sizeable halfling minority population.

The party decided to rest and assault the Vrocks headlong.

Along their excursion to a camping spot, they spotted a back entrance into the hive. Keeping this in mind, they camped stealthily, and assaulted the hive the following morning.
