- Todd Brotzman is having a bad day. His rent is overdue and his landlord is an aggressive, vindictive, destructive man. Then several people are gruesomely murdered in a suite at the hotel he works at and Todd is a prime suspect. When he gets home, he discovers an intruder in his apartment. The intruder is Dirk Gently, holistic detective.
- Centers on the titular holistic detective who investigates cases involving the supernatural. Based on the "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency" novel series, written by Douglas Adams and published by Simon and Schuster in 1987.
- Very well written show with some great ideas, clever plots and characters. It's a shame that it did not get more viewers and get picked up for a third season.
- This show isn't a masterpiece, but it isn't a terrible mess people and critics make it out to be. They are obviously leading up to something, and I have faith in Max Landis. that said, the writing in this piece can be pretty hit or miss. only like 30 percent of the jokes I actually enjoy. However, the entire holistic aspect of the show is very entertaining, and I can't wait to find out what's going to happen.<br/><br/>The relationship between ken and the psycho lady is pretty entertaining. However, I am not enjoying dirk gently's character at all. He is one of the reasons this show is getting such mixed reviews. Being a fan of Max Landis, I wish I could love this show, but it really isn't there yet.
