- This is Reddit, you don't have to add a period.
- I wrote a DM to avoid waiting 10 minutes to comment.

- This is Reddit, you don't need to write the correct "your" or "you're"/
- :/

- "Your" and "you're" are words that should be used correctly, even on Reddit. People don't add periods because it's not necessary, but people use incorrect "your" and "you're" because they didn't pay enough attention at school.
- I know that "you're" is not a word.

- They don't need to be used correctly on Reddit, and your response to that post actually proved it. You understood exactly what he meant and intentionally decided to argue about it. Thus proving it isn't necessary since the context of his sentence told the rest.

- Other Redditors usually don't correct not using a period at the end of the sentence, but they do correct incorrect usage of "your" and "you're". He just didn't know how to use "you're", since otherwise he would've used it correctly. Somebody has to correct him.

- You realise he replied at 8 AM right and was tired? He even stated this in the comments.
- It's not that he didn't know the correct one, it's that he's a human and made a mistake. Condescending people like you don't have a right to tell people if they're wrong or not when you yourself make mistakes too.
- Also, just because a majority does not take part in correcting someone on their punctuation does not mean it is not an issue.

- 8 AM isn't that early.

- I wake up at 12 AM typically and go to bed at 5 AM. That would be very early for me. And a lot of people go to bed around midnight, meaning they would've just barely woken up at 8 AM.
- Are you perhaps a sheep from a herd only correcting when other people agree? Because let me tell you something, just because the majority doesn't agree on something, doesn't make them the ones in the right. Your punctuation was wrong, just as he was by saying "your" instead of "you're" if you can't admit to that mistake and need to make excuses for it, I don't think you're fit to point out other peoples errors.
- And before you reply, that wasn't an insult to you.

- Always using a period could look weird, though.

- Maybe, but it's still correct, yes?

- It is, but it still looks weird. Sometimes, it's better to just not add a period.

- If you're going to correct someone, you should at least form a perfect sentence in the first place... unless you like having these types of arguments that is.

- I didn't have to add a period though? I would've had to add a period if I told him to add a period. Since he used "you're" incorrectly and it is a higher priority, it should be obvious that I was talking about his incorrrect usage of "you're". If I had used "you're" incorrectly, it would be hypocritical to tell him to use it correctly, but I just didn't add a period. These are two different things.

- It's not a problem of hypocrisy, you straight up just said his English was atrocious when you didn't exactly structure your sentence perfectly either.
