Slowly you trail your fingers down the flat of the blackened blade, it feels cool to the touch and you can almost sense an… emptiness inside it. Was that what Brian had talked about when he used his spells to analyze the sword, or something else?

You bring the flat of the blade slowly up to rest against your forehead, a silent salute that just somehow seems right. You had a worthy, well-balanced blade. A moment of reflection, a mental request for the sword to serve you well… it doesn’t seem out of place.
