(8:27:55 AM) Feldi|Chrome: While the pipeweed calls to her, Linny resists its siren song (and smell) to do something actually important.  She messages Lifen to meet her outside the city-tree limits so that they can patrol around the city.

(8:29:13 AM) Ikiryo: [From: Lifen - I'll be right there. It's better than hiding in the shuttlecraft]
(8:32:07 AM) Feldi|Chrome: [To Lifen - I imagine it is.]  Linny heads outside the city, smiling and waving to the many happy, most drugged-out, dryads as she goes.
(8:33:02 AM) Feldi|Chrome: A little friendliness goes a long way with happy drugged-out people.
(8:35:30 AM) Ikiryo: They wave back happily.
(8:36:03 AM) Ikiryo: The forest is rather pretty, a lot of light filtering down from above and not leaving it too dark. It looks like a friendly forest as a whole.
(8:36:40 AM) Ikiryo: Mind you, the massive white-furred wolf waiting for her just inside it takes away some of the friendly look. It's as large as a small car.
(8:38:06 AM) Feldi|Chrome: Linny knows appearances can be deceiving; she's case in point of that.  Her smile becomes natural and sincerely friendly as she catches sight of her friend. "Ready to give your legs a real stretch out, Lifen?"
(8:39:53 AM) Ikiryo: The wolf rises back...and shrinks slightly until the massive white haired elf is standing there instead. "Of course I am, I've been cramped up for way too long."
(8:42:19 AM) Feldi|Chrome: "Sorry about that. The Serpent isn't built for running about in.  I'm guessing you didn't notice anyone watching the shuttle, or you, as you left?" She walks up to Lifen's side and begins to walk off, deeper into the wood with the elf at her side.
(8:44:11 AM) Ikiryo: "I left as a mouse, just in case." She shakes her head. "A few people were looking in that direction but no one took uncommon interest."
(8:45:29 AM) Ikiryo: There is the faint smell of rot in the air, mostly hidden by the smell of flowers...but not enough to hide it from Linny's nose.
(8:45:41 AM) Ikiryo: Lifen frowns, clearly smelling it as well.
(8:47:11 AM) Feldi|Chrome: Linny puts up a hand, a typical sign in war to stop, kneeling down behind a tree for a moment, listening to the forest around them.
(8:48:56 AM) Ikiryo: The forest is quiet...moreso than it should be. There should be the sounds of small animals in the underbrush or birds fluttering between branches...
(8:51:24 AM) Feldi|Chrome: Linny nods to herself and gestures Lifen closer. "For birds to be quiet...there must be something moving or a threat.  If it was just something rotten, some animals would be curious if they could have an easy meal..."
(8:52:10 AM) Ikiryo: "Scavangers would be feasting." She nods. "The animals about are either hiding...or gone." She steps up close to Linny.
(8:58:49 AM) Feldi|Chrome: "Do you want to approach it together, or circle round so that, if whatever it is runs, it will run into you?"
(9:01:25 AM) Ikiryo: She smiles. "Flanking sounds good."
(9:03:21 AM) Ikiryo: She draws a few large throwing knives from her sleeves, slipping into the forest...
(9:03:30 AM) Feldi|Chrome: Linny nods, smiling back. "It's good to have someone who understands tactics more advanced than Charge."  Linny waits until Lifen has begun to circle round, counting the moments until she knows Lifen is almost in position before making her own direct approach.
(9:06:32 AM) Ikiryo: In the clearing she spots another wolf, it's leg stuck in a trap...it's clearly been there for quite a while, the wolf looking hungry and the leg caught in the trap heavily torn up. Around the wolf is rotted, torn up meat. It looks like it came from dozens of different animals...all mixed together.
(9:10:31 AM) Feldi|Chrome: Before she steps any closer, she picks up a stick and casts it into the clearing, aiming it between the wolf and herself.  Where there's one trap, there's another and if it was just a wolf in that clearing, plenty of birds should be around and scavengers too...
(9:12:24 AM) Ikiryo: ...the rotted meat rises up, vines running through it and moving it. It lunges at the stick...but recoils from the claws of the wolf.
(9:15:11 AM) Feldi|Chrome: Linny grins. Whatever this is isn't going to run.  Shifting into her own wolf form, Linny howls for Lifen to make her approach before shifting her own position by several trees, just in case the noise attracts the vines.
(9:16:28 AM) Ikiryo: It does, the creature lashing out with a limb of vines and rotted flesh and carving deep gashes in the trees. A moment later it recoils as half a dozen daggers slash into it's back as Lifen makes her presence known.
(9:20:06 AM) Feldi|Chrome: As the vines are distracted by daggers in its back, Linny approaches from the side, under cover of shadow.  As she lopes the final few feet, she goes from running on four feet to two, rising up into her warform with a snarl to barrel into the vines.
(9:21:16 AM) Ikiryo: It tries to fight her...but it's flesh is weak, being this rotted and vines can't hope to stop a Lunar.
(9:24:32 AM) Feldi|Chrome: Under the quicksilver claws of a Lunar such weak flesh is easily parted, into many, many chunks.
(9:25:25 AM) Ikiryo: The wolf shrinks back as the rotted flesh is sprayed everywhere.
(9:25:47 AM) Ikiryo: Lifen emerges from the shadows, still in her humanoid form and grinning.
(9:37:32 AM) Feldi|Chrome: Linny shrinks back into her halfing form, smiling up at her very tall friend. "Good work! Now, what should we do with our cousin here?" Linny turns to the wolf in the trap.
(9:38:09 AM) Ikiryo: The wolf whining and shrinking away from them.
(9:38:44 AM) Ikiryo: Lifen frowns. "...she's badly hurt." She leans down to break the trap...and suddenly clutches her hand, cursing.
(9:39:22 AM) Feldi|Chrome: "Silver?" Linny makes an educated guess.
(9:40:13 AM) Ikiryo: Lifen hisses breath through her teeth. "It's old and bloody...but yeah." She sucks on the injured finger.
(9:42:56 AM) Feldi|Chrome: "Time to fall back on the tried and true methods dealing with silver." Linny strolls back into the forest and grabs few sturdy sticks and returns and begins to work on the trap, trying to work it open for their cousin.

(9:49:06 AM) Feldi|Chrome: It takes a forceful, and steady, hand to thread the sticks into gaps in the trap, and then even more brute muscle to lever it slowly open until the trap is just open enough for the wolf to hop back and out of.
(9:50:31 AM) Ikiryo: The wolf takes a staggering step out of the trap and manages to get free before falling over.
(9:53:22 AM) Feldi|Chrome: Linny kneels beside the fallen wolf, expression pained in empathy.  "Do you know how to treat her? I never learned enough healing arts to help with something like this." Linny looks over the 'bite' the trap took out of the wolf's leg.
(9:56:55 AM) Ikiryo: It's a very nasty injury, right to the bone. Without a professional healer, she's not going to ever walk again. Lifen nods. "I know a little..." She kneels down, pulling a small medical kit from her volumous pockets.
(9:59:26 AM) Feldi|Chrome: Linny waits and watches patiently, helping Lifen when she asks for a steady hand.
(10:01:54 AM) Ikiryo: Lifen draws out a knife, tracing it along her palm and holding it to the wound...her own leg getting thinner and less healthy looking as some flesh grows over the savaged bone. She carefully wraps it up...and staggers slightly. "...ah. I might need a few moments to heal this..."
(10:04:57 AM) Feldi|Chrome: "I'm not in any hurry." Linny smiles at her friend, rising up into her warform so she can support Lifen's weakened side. "You did a good job." She compliments Lifen.
(10:05:44 AM) Ikiryo: The wolf looks up at them, still fearful...as a full moon briefly appears on it's forehead. "...did you..." Lifen sounds shocked.
(10:08:06 AM) Feldi|Chrome: "Not a cousin. A sister!" Linny laughs in surprise. She kneels down, supporting Lifen so they both can kneel before wolf. "Sister, can you understand me?"
(10:10:58 AM) Ikiryo: The wolf looks at them...uncomprehending and terrified. Her eyes are fuzzy...without any sign of intelligence in them.
(10:11:07 AM) Ikiryo: Lifen looks sick.
(10:13:59 AM) Feldi|Chrome: Linny grimaces, great clawed fists flexing as anger rises. "The Circle is here," she growls. "Somehow she must have escaped and they sent the vines to hunt her down...do you know if the Cult has ever rescued, ever fixed someone who was captured before?"
(10:15:17 AM) Ikiryo: "...not that I've heard of but...she doesn't look complete. They have not bolted armour onto her or muzzled her..." She sounds very uncertain.
(10:20:38 AM) Feldi|Chrome: "Luna's shadow...." Linny tries to think things through, who might be of help, what could possibly be done.
(10:25:14 AM) Ikiryo: Looking over her...the scars that could have only been caused by silver lashes...she's clearly been tortured for days, if not weeks. She's regressed mentally...not just to an animal but to a child.
(10:25:44 AM) Ikiryo: ...on the other hand, she's not a snarling monster. Linny thinks she escaped before they could train her back up as they want.
(10:30:18 AM) Feldi|Chrome: Linny moves slowly, reassuringly, letting herself out from under Lifen's arm to fall back into the familiar form of a great, ivory-furred wolf.  She pads close, stopping with every fearful shiver, and then moving closer again as the wolf, her sister in Luna's light, gets comfortable, feels safe again.
(10:31:13 AM) Ikiryo: Lifen shifts, doing her best to help as a fellow wolf rather than as a humanoid.
(10:31:57 AM) Feldi|Chrome: Once she's close enough, she brushes her muzzle against the wolf's, licking reassuringly, smoothing down fur, traveling up and down the wolf's body to groom ragged and untidy fur.  Working her sister into relaxation, taking her hopefully away from fear and into a state she can recognize her own safety, and begin to think through the fear...
(10:33:23 AM) Ikiryo: The other wolf calming a bit...rubbing her muzzle against the other two wolves. She still looks afraid...but not of them. They are comforting.
(10:35:33 AM) Feldi|Chrome: It feels weird to message through a comm-link in wolf form but Linny does. [To Lifen: We should guide her back to the shuttle.  She might not be comfortable on the Serpent, but she'll be safer than she is down here, and the lack of plants might help her feel safer.]
(10:36:20 AM) Ikiryo: The massive white wolf nods. [Alright.]
(10:39:08 AM) Feldi|Chrome: Linny circles round to the smaller, injured wolf's uninjured side and nudges her, trying to indicate that she wants the wolf to stand up, try to walk.
(10:41:43 AM) Ikiryo: The wolf does her best, not entirely steady on her feet but moving. The larger wolf moves with them, standing between the pair and the forest...
(10:43:03 AM) Feldi|Chrome: Linny moves around to the wolf's injured side and supports her as she moves.  She could have carried the wolf, but, after being afraid for so long, Linny thinks it must be better for the wolf to know she can move under her own power.  And after a stay in captivity, being held might be the wrong way to go.
(10:43:25 AM) Feldi|Chrome: She follows her own scent trail back out of the forest, wary for any pursurers.

(11:17:23 AM) Ikiryo: Between the small mountain of a wolf protecting her from behind and the warm, soft one by her side she's making her way back to the shuttle decently well, Lifen's treatment clearly still working at healing her leg...
(11:20:51 AM) Feldi|Chrome: Linny gives her a few nuzzles as incentive as they continue on toward the field that shuttles land in.
(11:23:12 AM) Ikiryo: Leaning against the shuttle is a tall, curvy mage with long black hair. Lien, Annandra's Friend/Housemate/Owner? She raises an eyebrow at the trio arriving.
(11:25:18 AM) Feldi|Chrome: As they get closer, Linny transitions back into her halfling form, placing a reassuring hand at the scruff on the wolf's neck.  "Hey Lien, we found a friend, a captive who got herself free from the Circle."
(11:28:30 AM) Ikiryo: The wolf takes another step foward...and falls to the ground, her form warping and shifting. Linny might have been mistaken...they didn't revert her back to a child as well as an animal. The dryad lying there is perhaps ten years old...dressed in little more than rags, her skin crossed with the same silver scars.
(11:28:43 AM) Ikiryo: Lien's breath catches. "...the Fuck."
(11:30:49 AM) Feldi|Chrome: "A...young friend. Luna's light..." Linny hurries to her knees and lifts the dryad up, quick stepping her way closer to the shuttle. "We're getting her off this planet now."
(11:31:50 AM) Ikiryo: Lifen nods. "I can pilot a shuttle...well enough at least." Lien is already fetching a blanket to wrap her in. "Here."
(11:34:49 AM) Feldi|Chrome: "Thank you," she says to Lien, though her eyes stay on the dryad.  She wraps her up, not too tight, not tight enough to make her think she's a captive again.  Then she steps onto the shuttle, holding the child to her.  "She may have Exalted as she escaped....Luna saw her urge to survive and gave her what she needed." Linny's eyes are the yellow of a wolf, the cold ever-burning anger in her heart stoking itself back int
(11:35:22 AM) Feldi|Chrome: "I'm going to destroy every last one of them."
(11:35:56 AM) Ikiryo: Lien clamps her hand together, purple light glowing around it. "That is...fucking...fuck...a child..." She stomps her way back into the shuttle.

(11:37:51 AM) Feldi|Chrome: Unconsciously, Linny holds the child tighter to herself.  "I promise you," she says to the child, "I'll see you healthy again, and you'll see the ones who did this left for the ravens to pick over.  I swear that in Luna's name and in the name of Khorne."

(11:38:46 AM) Ikiryo: The child doesn't reply but she snuggles into Linny, falling asleep.

(11:49:42 AM) Feldi|Chrome: Linny swallows, dragging her eyes away from the child in her arms, the silver scars on her young face....to look up at Lien and Lifen, to see their expressions.
(11:51:11 AM) Ikiryo: Lifen's face is hard, frozen and very clearly doing her best to look let her anger affect her flying. Lien isn't even trying to hide it, her eyes blazing and purple magic crackling around her as her control frays.
(11:54:00 AM) Feldi|Chrome: "Once she's better," Linny says softly into the tense, angry silence, "I might be able to use her blood to track where she fled from, if her scent isn't enough to track them down...." She smooths down the dryad's hair.
(11:55:58 AM) Ikiryo: Lifen nods. "I will help." The dryad seems to be taking a much needed rest.
(11:56:33 AM) Ikiryo: Lien bites her lip. "...when you find out where it was...I want part of blowing it up. After all that shit with Excess...at least they didn't do it with fucking children..."
(11:58:50 AM) Feldi|Chrome: A faint, humorless smile settles on Linny's face. "A child's soul is too small, too weak, for the Chaos Gods to be interested in.  A child should be helped to become as strong an adult as they can be.  To hurt a child is to harm potential itself, to remove the chance that they might become more....but the Circle doesn't care about souls.  And Children bleed just the same as Adults do."

(12:02:21 PM) Feldi|Chrome: "It is.  Even Khorne does not want the blood of children.  And she would have been muzzled and armored and turned into some mindless beast of war for them....it's too far.  I won't let another child get hurt, not again."
(12:02:53 PM) Ikiryo: Lifen nods quietly, visibly focusing on piloting to avoid raging.
(12:07:37 PM) Feldi|Chrome: "Not again. Never again," she murmurs quietly to herself, to the sleeping dryad. "I promised not by my hand or any others if I could stop it."  She looks up again, and speaks so that the others could hear her again, "I should have asked Hana to hurry back to the shuttle.  I don't know if anyone else is trained in the healing arts on board."
(12:10:40 PM) Ikiryo: [From: South - I'm good at it!] How the hell does she have access to the shuttle sensors?
(12:12:20 PM) Feldi|Chrome: Linny blinks. "South says she's got a hand at medicine." She says, in case the others didn't get the message. [I'm bringing in a child.  She has a lot of cuts and a major wound on her leg, from a bear trap.] She messages the robot girl back.
(12:13:01 PM) Ikiryo: [I know, I saw on the sensors. You want me to warm up the Serpent's guns and just shoot the forest a lot?
(12:15:12 PM) Feldi|Chrome: Linny surprises herself as she snorts, her lips quirking up into something like a real smile. [As much as I'd like that, we need to know where to shoot first.  But...thank you, South.]
(12:16:14 PM) Ikiryo: [Alright. Tell me if you change your mind. These people sound like they need a lot of shooting. Do you know where the medical bay is? I'm there and getting set up.]

(12:17:32 PM) Ikiryo: [Adelinda can show you!] The shuttle soon docks at the serpent, Adelinda there at the doors with a stretcher when it opens. "South told me what happened. Can you take the other end?" She gestures to Lifen, who nods
(12:18:25 PM) Feldi|Chrome: Linny lays the dryad carefully down on the stretcher after Lifen takes up the other end of it.
(12:19:23 PM) Ikiryo: Adelinda takes her end, starting to lead on. "Just...elements...this planet was supposed to be a fun trip and some light invesigation..."
(12:20:21 PM) Ikiryo: The medical room is soon reached. Confidence in South's talents get a bit more questionable when the fancy nurse outfit and the laelese accent are encountered.
(12:21:22 PM) Feldi|Chrome: Linny has half the mind to ask Adelina why she thought that but gets distracted by the strange accent and the nurse outfit. "...South, why do you...? You know what, it doesn't matter."
(12:28:19 PM) Ikiryo: "I'm prepped, put her on the table! Adelinda, can you help me?" Adelinda nods, stepping in and putting on some gloves.
(12:30:37 PM) Feldi|Chrome: Linny lifts the dryad child from the stretcher and places her down on the table, stepping back so Adelinda and South can work.
(12:31:09 PM) Ikiryo: South looks at them. "I'll call you when I'm done, out please." She smiles warmly at them.
(12:31:42 PM) Reise: It's right then that Linny gets an abrupt message. [Linny? What's going on? I was buzzed and then bam, homicidal rage, and I know I've had mood swings but not like that.]
(12:38:21 PM) Feldi|Chrome: Linny is about to argue with South when she receives the message, which makes her close her mouth and walk out the room without further comment.  [Lifen and I explored the forest.  We found a werewolf, Reise, in a trap being attacked by a monster made of vines and rotten meat.]
(12:42:35 PM) Ikiryo: Lifen heads out with her. Lien stomps her way towards the storage bays, clearly going to work off anger.
(12:42:50 PM) Reise: [...What. Alright, shit, this is getting out of hand. Blue and I just found a *regular* wolf and her pups, all controlled by those weird vine things. Only one pup survived. How's your--how the hell did another werewolf get out here? Are they okay? I'm guessing you got 'em out of the trap 'cause past tense. Those vines are a weapon, Linny. Completely not natural.]

(1:23:36 PM) Ikiryo: Remima is, currently, searching for any reports of missing children. Or at least, children who havn't turned up to school for a few days. As far as she was aware, they were all accounted for.

(1:25:00 PM) Ikiryo: Back in the infirmary, South has wrapped the girl up under a blanket. "Alright, I cleaned up her wounds and got all the silver out of them. That took a bit of work but it seemed the most important thing to prevent infection."

(1:26:32 PM) Feldi|Chrome: Linny nods at South. "With the silver out, just being a werewolf will take care of the rest. Thank you," she says honestly to the cosplaying robot. "You have a lot of hidden talents, don't you?"
(1:27:48 PM) Feldi|Chrome: [Are there any records of families leaving the planet?] Linny sends to Reise.
