  1. "Then I'm to assume you know nothing of Moonfall?" He'd question, finding himself once again at a dead end. If this demon didn't know anything, then another would down the line. If he'd have to go through hundreds of demons to get an answer, he'd do it.
  2.
  3. His steel hued eyes keep aware of the demon's approach. It walked around him like a predator, and it annoyed him greatly. How could something view him as a predator, when it was he who devoured?
  4.
  5. A twisted grin soon bloomed, as his head cants just ever so slightly. "If you don't know about Lemuria, then I'll just have to have you tell me where I can find Violet," he'd add.
  6.
  7. Seeing the creature in preparation, he readies his weapon. Deep down, he lived for these scenarios. It felt like a breath of fresh air. It had been a long time since he'd experienced the thrill of the hunt.
  8. (Diedrich Augustus)
  9.
  10. "How am I meant to know anything about moonfall? I couldn't care less about any Moonfall. I was hatched in the Dreadwoods, and survived for decades, with all but myself. I am the lone wolf..."
  11.
  12. "- That was, until recently."
  13.
  14. The demon stared upwards, towards the stars, before shutting both eyes.
  15.
  16. Suddenly, a mana that mirrored the cosmos replenished his being, a yellow trail lingering in his wake.
  17.
  18. "Well, how is it? This is the power of those attuned to the stars, no? Kehehe. I hope I may be able to entertain you both. For I truthfully do envy the weak. You don't have to worry about finding a worth challenger..."
  19. (Voráz)
  20.
  21. Moonfall? Lemuria?
  22.
  23. These names tell the Serpent nothing; while it slithers about, the forked tongue extending in and out to pick up the scents and other various chemicals across the air, it seems rather befuddled by that statement.
  24.
  25. If this doesn't exist anywhere on current situation of Esshar, how could lesser demons be expected to know?
  26.
  27. "Hssss.."
  28.
  29. A silent hiss emitted by its maw. Yet, while the snake-eyes turn towards Voraz, there seem to be no words spoken.
  30. (Fidi)
  31.
  32. Another dead end to his search. He lets out a sigh, having found himself without answers again. Just how many leads would he have to follow until he discovered what he searched for.
  33.
  34. "If you're from the Dreadwoods, then you must know of Violet. But I can see that you either don't know anything, or don't want to talk. I guess it'll be fun to pull some teeth out for an answer. No...That just seems a bit too kind. Maybe scalping you, tearing your flesh and stitching it together?"
  35.
  36. At this point, the depravity began to ooze out. His own occult mana began to bubble up, revealing some of the man's truer desires. He was a creature of power, similar in nature to these very demons he stood against. The only difference was allegiance. He was a man, and swore an oath to Ryujin. There were lines he'd never cross for the pursuit of power. Yet a demon? To what end would they go to achieve what they desired? They were what he could become if he'd given everything up for strength.
  37.
  38. Seeing the powers of the cosmos, he scoffs at the display. "So what? Are we supposed to think you're special because of it? I just hope you don't croak before I've had my fill. Let's see who is the true hunter," the blood magi spoke.
  39.
  40. He took a step forward, ready to engage. "You take care of the other one, make sure the kid doesn't die. Your focus should be his survival. This is your first order. If you can take that bat demon down with it, that'll be a bonus. This one however, leave it to me."
  41. (Diedrich Augustus)
  42.
  43. So full of themselves..
  44.
  45. Humanity has always been a disappointment ever since Fidi has awakened to this world. Without first provocation, without ever attacking anyone first, he was already assaulted for who he is - perhaps, that is merely because humanity knew better at this point. Perhaps, it's because they already knew that this would leave them vulnerable, if they were to leave the Demons alive..
  46.
  47. But would that not anger them, in the end?
  48. To assault them this young?
  49.
  50. "Hssss..."
  51.
  52. The forked tongue extends in and out. The snake-eyes continue to examine the figures ahead, and already the shadows begin to deepen.. marginal magic in its nature, flawed as well, yet the shadowy snakes begin to steadily surround the Serpent.
  53.
  54. Means for protection, no doubt.
  55.
  56. "You humansss.."
  57.
  58. "Are desssspicable.."
  59.
  60. Was he there to claim who's worse? Not quite.. even if it may sound that way. For all intents and purposes, Fidi already made up his mind - that humanity is deeply flawed, and the terrible traits they assign to others..
  61.
  62. They possess themselves.
  63.
  64. "You create the monsterssss that you fight.."
  65.
  66. "With every waking moment, with every breath, with every action... and you cannot sssee it."
  67.
  68. "You dessserve.. what will be coming to you."
  69.
  70. "And much more."
  71.
  72. Yet, the shadows do not wane. The Serpent knew this could go oh so terribly wrong..
  73.
  74. And if it were? Then these shadows are meant to keep him alive.
  75. (Fidi)
  76.
  77. The crimson winged Drakanite bit down on his bottom lip with a canine as he took account to the number of demons that had amassed in the area. The teen from earlier had been defeated as well putting them in a less favorable position with the so-called bloodthirsty creatures.
  78.
  79. "Focus getting the other guy out and keep the demon down, got it." He says as his wings flap a single time causing his Symbolic Casting to take hold as he focused on his unyielding stance and focused passion. The earth and fire magics would respond to his calling as a pool of magma burst from the ground near him.
  80.
  81. Vatoris pointed his revolver between the bat demon and the snake demon, hearing the latter speak out in the defense of the demons. He released his biting of his lip as Thomas began to depart from the area making it less likely for the demons to try and take further victims with them.
  82.
  83. A more relieved tone escaped him. "Don't try and deceive us with your words, demon. You will be forced from here, and if you so unlucky destroyed." He regards rather directly. Chains of metal began to rise from the pool now. "So you can keep on talking or you can figure out with your kin over there which of you is going down first. I'm not letting you have your way." He explains.
  84. (Barrachan Vatoris)
  85.
  86. Having just finished a battle, the bat was slightly injured - there were some wounds that not even it's time magic could fix, yet there was already another opponent before it.
  87.
  88. "Pointless.
  89.
  90. You think that you can stop us? Perhaps you can, even if we're to fall here then more of our kin will rise. You'll never be able to eliminate demons completely; the ones that evade death will grow to be more powerful and in the end?
  91.
  92. You all will perish at their might."
  93.
  94. It's wings flapped, and the bat approached the magma using Drakanite, though a glance would be given to it's kin.
  95.
  96. "I will take on this pathetic human, lest you wish to do battle first? Remember - our goal isn't victory, but only survival."
  97. (Ulciél)
  98.
  99. Deceive? An amusing note. The words of Barrachan were easily regarded as narrow-minded, blind to own faults- but where the shadows begin to extend, and the snakes slither their way towards Barrachan slowly, the snake-eyes continue to stare.
  100.
  101. Unamused.
  102.
  103. "Opportunity... exploitation..." The actions that often can be given to humanity as a whole.
  104.
  105. "You dissstance yourself from beastsss, and yet.."
  106. "Predatory attributesss remain.."
  107.
  108. It's mesmerizing. The golden snake-eyes that constantly glare towards Barrachan, nearing close, closer.. until it could almost feel as if they're all too close. To outside observants, Fidi remains where he is. To Barrachan, however?
  109.
  110. The golden snake-eyes stare from up close.
  111. Face to face. Shadows deepen..
  112. Unto his mind, with telepathic projection.
  113.
  114. "Are we entities you seek to destroy.."
  115. "for the safety of your ssspecies,"
  116. "or do you hold us on display,"
  117. "on your endless quest to control,"
  118. "what cannot be controlled?"
  119.
  120. Your mind feels numb. This is neither Occult, nor its direct magic, really- but the mesmerizing grip of the Serpent, for while the shadows begin to deepen, only now does it begin to slither closer.
  121.
  122. Slowly.
  123. (Fidi)
  124.
  125. Hearing a voice call out to him, he braces himself for what was to come. Lilith pulled no punches, and he knew just from her voice, and nature, that he'd get an earful when he returned home.
  126.
  127. He had no intention of not returning after the fight. The two had made a promise to each other, Home was where they'd meet, up until the end of their lives. It was a promise he'd be willing to kill for.
  128.
  129. A breath is taken, before he takes a quick glance at his beloved. "I'll be fine. This is work. I won't let you stop me this time Lilith. Just know, I'll be returning home."
  130.
  131. He only spoke those words before taking aim at the creature. "Enough twiddling our thumbs. Let's get this over with so I can tend to my wife."
  132. (Diedrich Augustus)
  133.
  134. It could be the shadows that plagued the mind of Barrachan.
  135.
  136. But while the young Serpent lacked the skills to oppose an established magi in combat, what he didn't lack is in invading the minds of others, be it through the telepathic projection or the lengthening shadows.
  137.
  138. "Hsss..."
  139.
  140. "Repugnant.."
  141.
  142. Another kin was willing to take the place when it comes to battling the more established magi. For now, he would only watch, shielded away in the shadows. One cannot grow to become a feared Demon..
  143.
  144. If they're killed too soon.
  145. (Fidi)
