Hazbin characters had some pretty F up backstories

It's very likely that all the Hazbin characters had some pretty fuked up backstories.

>Alastor : Had an abusive father who would often be violent and aggressive towards his mother. One day, he beat her up so bad he killed her. Alastor could never forgive himself for the fact that he couldn't protect his mother.. He swore that he would never let another woman suffer again. As he grew older, he killed his dad in a fit of rage. He decided that this was not enough. He became a serial killer that specifically targeted strong and intimidating men that reminded him of his father. We know that Alastor is very close to his mother and that he got triggered when he saw that buff-looking demon attacking the frail sheep lady. He is also one of the very few demons that actually has a moral compass.

>Angel Dust : He grew up in a crime family. It wasn't his fault that he is bad now. He probably got bullied because of his sxual orientation a lot. Being gay in the 1940's was completely different from being gay nowadays. He got beaten by his dad on the regular. HIs dad wanted him to e more like his brother. For a very long time, Angel had to give up his flamboyant and playful personality and start acting more stoic/masculine in order for him to be taken seriously by those around him. When, he went to hell and was finally able to distance himself from his family, he could be himself again instead of having to pretend being someone else.

>Vaggie: She probably became a hooker because she had no choice. Growing up in the poverty of El Salvador, she had to find a way to make money. She got humiliated and abused y men (who were also her clients) so much she eventually developed a cold, hostile and sometimes even aggressive attitude towards men. She came to the conclusion that all men are vile and horrid. Maybe we could get some character development where she learns that not all men are evil. Maybe if she met a guy that was kind and sweet, her opinion might change.

Personally, I don't think Al should have a tragic backstory since people are gonna use it as a way of excusing what a piece of sht he was in life.
To me, he's like Patrick Bateman, he's a narcissist putting on a well to do facade, who became a killer because he could.

I personally believe it would be a more interesting take if Alastor had a good upbringing with no obvious issues. I think it would make for a far more interesting clash with Charlies ideals than if he just has dad issues.

Same. We got enough tragic backstories as it is, and Alastor being the guy that turned toward voodoo and murderous tendencies because he was bored would fit well with his fake smiles and desire to see others fail/suffer for his amusement.

He’s the type of guy who likely chose Hell willingly.
