Go back and play through the Brotherhood Ending of Fallout 4.

You find out Danse is a Synth.  How horrible, he's been a good guy, friend, maybe even lover for the entire game up to that point?  So you say that to Maxon - fuck that, he's not a Synth and I will not hunt him down.

"Okay Knight, I really don't give a shit, you're doing it anyways."

Sole Survivor's reaction?  "Okay boss!"

Go talk to scribe whoever about it?  "Yeah i'm hunting danse, gimme deats."

Scribe from beginning of the game shows up and wants to talk to you.  "Are you going to do it, Knight?"

"WELL OF COURSE HE'S OBVIOUSLY A SYNTH AND MAXON SAID SO."

There is literally NO option to say "no, I don't want to kill danse."
