- As a group, brainstorm a list of all the things someone needs to know when they visit Boston (especially things that no one told you before you came here).
- Then choose three of the topics (one for each of you) and write a list of specific suggestions you could give someone about those topics.
- Think of examples for each suggestion and write an outline for your advice paragraph.
- Example outline (the topic is places to shop in Boston)
- Title: Shopping in Boston
- Topic sentence: There are many great places to go shopping in Boston.
- A (one place and its location)
- 1 (example of something you can buy there)
- 2 (reason it’s a good place to shop)
- B (another place and its location)
- 1 (what is the best thing to buy at this place?)
- C (a final place and its location)
- 1 (why is it good? why should I shop there?)
- Conclusion: If you go to these places, you will have a good and cheap shopping experience.
