  1. OCTOBER GOALS:
  2.
  3. SELF CARE (excluding routine, which goes without saying at this point)
  4. 1. Exercise schedule – M/W/F lifts, T/R cardio. On T/R, do longer meditations after getting home.
  5. 2. Maintain exercise log as an accountability measure.
  6. 3. Result mini goal: Complete a tournament visualization exercise before NChiSU.
  7.
  8. I think I could do better on 1; I skip cardio too much. Even 15 minutes would be okay; it's just about habituation. Weirdly enough my routine has been the one to fall by the wayside .__. My schedule keeps getting messed up by bad bed times and then I don't have the discipline to do the full thing (though I started to do it partially near the end of the month).
  9. I managed to do 3 but not well enough/to my liking, so I'll do it for a different event in November.
  10.
  11. TOURNAMENTS
  12. 1. Attend both RoMs, two Fella Fridays and NChiSU.
  13. 2. Identify three performance issues after every event, and include those in my practice/study.
  14. 3. Result mini goal: Via $10 money match or tournament, get at least 2 Ws on PR members by NChiSU (inclusive).
  15. 4. Process goal: Hit B average in preparation, execution or tilt at end of month.
  16.
  17. I met the attendance goals. Proud that I managed to attend and not enter both RoMs.
  18. I identified performance issues but they were too numerous in the case of Fella Fridays. I also didn't do it very well after NChiSU.
  19. Didn't manage to achieve my result goal :(
  20. I had good scores this month for tilt, yay! Next month I should focus on...preparation.
  21.
  22. SOLO PRACTICE
  23. 1. Have physical contact with the game every day. Even 10-15 minutes before bed is sufficient, so long as it’s very focused.
  24. 2. Implement new practice model (analytical + instinctual).
  25. 3. Result mini goal: Become competent at grabbing no-tech getup.
  26.
  27. I didn't accomplish any of these because I didn't solo practice enough :( Fudge!!! I let myself get caught in the interaction trap, lol.
  28. I think the analytical + instinctual thing works but I need to have the discipline to see it through and practice it a lot.
  29. Let's try to solo practice in the mornings at least.
  30.
  31. VOD ANALYSIS
  32. 1. Minimum 30 minutes of study every other day. Study videos however I want, just make sure to do it
  33. 2. Write down testable/practiceable take-aways after every viewing session.
  34. 3. Result mini goal: fill 5 pages front + back in notebook before NChiSU.
  35.
  36. Good news: I have lots of journal pages of testing items and I viewed videos fairly regularly.
  37. Bad news: Much of the viewings were fairly unstructured, and I haven't cleared many of the pages/tested them.
  38.
  39. SESSIONS
  40. 1. Play one session a week, netplay or otherwise.
  41. 2. Refer to notebook every time I take a water break (should be taking lots of water breaks; one every five friendlies).
  42. 3. Figure out how I feel when I’m playing well at a session or I’m learning a lot, in every way — emotions, body, resilience, breathing, etc.
  43.
  44. 1 definitely happened; in-person sessions have been ramping up (once a week). I think I should assume that I'll be able to play humans at least once a week from here on out and only use netplay for targeted matchup practice.
  45. 2 and 3 did NOT happen. I don't value water breaks enough, and I get too caught up in just mechanics rather than 'my condition'.
  46.
  47. OVERALL, I think my results really stagnated for this month when I entered, and it's a reflection in my lack of discipline when it comes to training. I liked that in the middle of the month I tried to self-assess to put myself back on track. Keeping that in mind, I should self-assess every week and move closer to my goals each week, viewing it as more incremental.

  50.
  51. November Goals:
  52.
  53. SELF CARE
  54. 1. Exercise schedule – M/W/F lifts, T/R cardio. Get at least one cardio and two lift days every week.
  55. 2. Do the routine every day, even if it's not complete.
  56. 3. Result mini goal: Complete a tournament visualization exercise before a Fella Fridays.
  57.
  58. TOURNAMENTS
  59. 1. Attend both RoMs, two Fella Fridays and UNChi.
  60. 2. After every event, consolidate info into three performance issues, and include those in my practice/study. Can be as simple as executional items.
  61. 3. Result mini goal: Via $10 money match or tournament, get at least 2 Ws on PR members by pre-Thanksgiving FF.
  62. 4. Process goal: Hit B average in preparation or execution.
  63.
  64. SOLO PRACTICE
  65. 1. Have physical contact with the game every day. Even 10-15 minutes before bed is sufficient, so long as it’s very focused.
  66. 2. Implement new practice model (analytical + instinctual).
  67. 3. Result mini goal: Become competent at grabbing no-tech getup OR get consistent 8f ledgedashes.
  68. 4. Process goal: Self-assess regarding solo practice at the end of every week.
  69.
  70. VOD ANALYSIS:
  71. 1. Minimum 30 minutes of study every other day. Study videos however I want, just make sure to do it
  72. 2. Consolidate info into at least one testing item every week.
  73. 3. Process goal: before every analysis session, do a viewing of relevant games. From that viewing, determine goal of analysis, then assess usefulness of goal and discipline of analysis afterwards.
  74.
  75. SESSIONS:
  76. 1. Have one ladder day, one netplay session day and one offline session day.
  77. 1a. SUPER GOAL: On offline session days, actually obey my alarm(s). Self control/discipline thing.
  78. 2. Take a water break every five friendlies.
  79. 2a. SUPER GOAL: Check notebook during water breaks.
  80. 3. Pick one aspect of my condition to evaluate during every session - emotions, body tension, resilience, breathing, focus - and self-assess.
  81. 3a. SUPER GOAL: By end of month, understand *in writing* what it's like when I'm feeling good about my play/learning.
