  1. [19:41] She turns around and looks at kid Rook, then to Illari and Harriet. It was hard to figure out whats going on. There were so many voices and so much information to take in, but she could see the worry on the children's faces. She starts to pull back out of the crowd, "Come children, let's get somewhere quieter." She tugs at Harriest then at Rook and gives Illari a nod.
  2.
  3. If the children were to follow her, she would help them get to the other side of the bridge where they could regroup and figure out what to do next, and save themselves the confusion and the trouble of the matter at hand.
  4. (Lucrecia Elstrange)
  5. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  6.
  7. [19:43] Harriet just kept a hold of Miss Lucrecia's dress and followed along motioning Rook and Illari to follow. She would motion for her brothers to come as well but they probably would have not seen her.
  8. (Harriet Multhunder)
  9. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  10.
  11. [19:43] Rook nodded and pushed through the crowd to escape towards the bridge. He did so fairly well despite his size. The experiences he's gained in the slums payed off in strange ways like this. Being able to slide passed people without causing too much trouble was one of them.
  12. (Rook)
  13. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  14.
  15. [19:45] Noting that her main goal was to get rid of a bunch of her jerky that she'd made and that it was weighing her down just a touch the girl simply set down a little bag of food where she stood.
  16.
  17. There were people who would love to just find a bag of free food, and no one would care much about some random food being picked up in this chaos.
  18.
  19. Seeing that Harriet was calling to her the fox didn't hesitate to follow. No need to fight if the people she cared for didn't care to. Wherever they wanted to be right now was just fine by her.
  20. (Illari Nerro)
  21. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  22.
  23. [19:48] Lucrecia leads the children off of the bridge before the situation gets ugly and regroups on the cliffside overlooking the bridge. She waits for them to gather and begins checking them, "Are you all okay?" She kneels down on the floor to make sure they weren't hurt or traumatized by what was happening.
  24.
  25. After she checks in on them she would look toward the bridge just to make sure things were okay on that side as well.
  26. (Lucrecia Elstrange)
  27. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  28.
  29. [19:49] Of course Illari followed her friends out of the fray, assuming that things had escalated though she wasn't much listening to this chaos any more.
  30.
  31. She somewhat expected they were going to go far away, possible back to Lucy's house but they instead parked themselves just off the bridge in view to watch without being in danger. Apparently the outcome of this mattered to Lucy.
  32.
  33. The fox looked to her friend, giving a nod though the look on her face was still rather stern and ready to fight if it was needed. Why else would Lucy still be here?
  34.
  35. "I'm just fine. How... how important is this?" the girl asked, wondering how important this fight was to win.
  36. (Illari Nerro)
  37. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  38.
  39. [19:51] Harriet would smile and nod her head at her boss. She then looks and checks up on both Rook and Illari as well. She then rubs her eyes and yawns like a little kid.
  40.
  41. "Is this bad? It sounded like they are trying to overthrow something." Harriet would say as she only heard bits and pieces of certain things due to every one and their brothers talking at the same time.
  42.
  43. She then began to get quiet because it seems as though Miss Lucrecia wanted to see what was happening.
  44. (Harriet Multhunder)
  45. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  46.
  47. [19:52] They managed to get far enough away from the crowd and into the safety of the streets across the bridge. But they went a bit further into the small gathering of trees to sit on the cliffs edge and watch the scene unfold.
  48.
  49. Rook stood beside them all, looking at the chaos continue. Though he turned towards Lucrecia when she spoke up. He simply nodded, looking relatively fine now. "... I've never seen something like this before..." he mumbled and looked down towards the ground.
  50.
  51. "... It's... Probably very important. More than we can comprehend." he answered Illari. "Stuff like this happens in taverns while people are drunk... Or on the streets when people arguing. Sometimes it ends in a drunken fight or an arrest. At least, in Sudbury." he informed. Though he looked over at the chaos once more.
  52.
  53. "But I've /never/ seen it happen with such a huge gathering like this... And the masked men, whoever did the talking is better than any drunken preacher on the streets..." he said and let out a sigh.
  54.
  55. "Honestly, I'm nervous. Too many things are happening."
  56. (Rook)
  57. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  58.
  59. [19:55] Rook says, "It looks like they're fighting..."
  60.
  61. [19:55] Illari looks to Rook, giving him a nod as for once she honestly understood what he was staying. She couldn't comprehend what they were fighting about but it seemed like it was going to be deciding things going forward.
  62.
  63. "It's alright, you won't get hurt." she promised, knowing she wasn't going to let anybody she cared about get hurt if she could help it. No one over here was going to be hurt if the little teenage kitsune could possibly stop it.
  64. (Illari Nerro)
  65. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  66.
  67. [20:01] Rook shook his head. "I'm not really worried about getting hurt." he said and stared at the bridge again. "Maybe if we were in the frey I'd be, but we'll be fine out here." he sighed.
  68.
  69. "I'm more worried about tomorrow, or the next day. This is the first time I've seen people get up and fight over this kinda thing to this extent..." he looked down.
  70.
  71. "I just have a bad feeling it's going to interfere in everyones life too much... In a bad way, too."
  72. (Rook)
  73. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  74.
  75. [20:06] Once she were sure they were okay she gives them each a smile. Then she turns around and looks way out to the bridge. "This matters because... Revolution affects us all. It affects how we live, where we live... What we do, how we do it. Who's in charge, and who isn't." She shakes her head, "And its going to have a huge effect as soon as its over."
  76.
  77. She points to the bridge, "Yiron is still in there as well." She looks back at Harriet. "We need to know if we should be moving, or if it will be safe to go back home, and we won't know until this is over." She says and turns back to the bridge. She cant help but notice that among the knights and those charging up to fight against the Syndicate, that someone was using withcraft. He was using blood magic... And a part of the nobility? Perhaps. Or maybe the knights?
  78.
  79. She raises her hands and states, "Wait here..." She had to get a closer look. She needed to see who was utilizing such heretical power in the care of the knights, and without consequence.
  80. (Lucrecia Elstrange)
  81. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  82.
  83. [20:08] Again Illari nodded in acknowledgement. She figured that with her ability to throw fire around and fight the things in the surrounding wilds she could likely find herself in a somewhat decent place no matter how the government ended up.
  84.
  85. Though in honesty she didn't understand how the current government worked to begin with. The idea that she would be at least okay no matter what was simply optimistic thinking.
  86.
  87. "I can understand that. I kind of assumed this sort of thing happened all the time and I just never saw it." she admitted, a more monotone and flat way to her words than ever before.
  88.
  89. As Lucy told her to stay put Illari didn't want to at all, itching to go along and help with the fighting but she stayed where she stood rather obediently, her eyes trained on her friend and scanning to be sure she was safe.
  90. (Illari Nerro)
  91. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  92.
  93. [20:09] Rook ignored Lucrecia's order to stay where he was and followed her anyway. "I'm going with her." he said. Though she dashed ahead decently fast, it wasn't like he didn't know where she was going.
  94.
  95. Going back over there was certainly risky, but he'd rather be in danger than not be able to assist if something went wrong. Besides, the others were safely far away, he doubted anything bad would happen to them.
  96. (Rook)
  97. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  98.
  99. [20:12] Rook stepped beside Lucrecia and looked forward, not even acknowledging that he ignored her order to stay put.
  100. (Rook)
  101. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  102.
  103. [20:22] Rook let out a sigh. It looked like whoever was fighting the watch or knight lost and fled. At least one of them anyway... He wasn't too sure what was happening all the way in the back, he couldn't really see.
  104.
  105. The Syndicate losing fights was... Probably a good thing? Well, it was a way towards keeping things the way they were. Which he was comfortable with at least. Rook didn't want any change. He grew up in the slums, learned how to deal with it, and figured out his place. It was fine with him.
  106.
  107. That being said, it looked like someone on the Syndacate side managed to win, now that he looks closer. Someone covered in fire. Rook couldn't help but root against them. Why did these people hate where they lived so much? Was it really ThAT much worse than the life in the upper city? Did it matter if it was? Who cares what other people have.
  108.
  109. "Tch..." he grumbled, just wanting this to end already.
  110. (Rook)
  111. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  112.
  113. [20:32] Lucrecia shakes her head. She makes her way forward through the crowd, but seeing as the person she sought after was gone, she didnt have much more reason to stick around. She looks back at Rook and says, "We should get off of this bridge." She sweeps the bridge one last time for persons of note, the heretic, the syndicate, or Yiron, and when she finds none of them she starts to back out of there.
  114.
  115. "I rather make sure you kids are alright." She hurries off of the bridge, only slowing down if Rook neeed to as she made her way back to Illari and Harriet. "Where are the Manjigeras at a time like this..." She wonders aloud just hoping her people weren't worse for wear.
  116. (Lucrecia Elstrange)
  117. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  118.
  119. [20:38] Rook looked up towards Lucrecia, then back at the event before them. A small part of him wanted to stay and watch it to finish. But he nodded and turned to follow her. Though Rook knew he was closer to a child than anything else, his experiences made up for his lack of maturity a lot of the time.
  120.
  121. "You don't need to worry about me. It's bigger, but I've been in this kind of situations before. Plus the other two are in the woods." he answered, but continued to follow anyway.
  122.
  123. Another fight seemed to break up and he looked behind him while following. He saw fire and blue energy flair up, though he couldn't see any faces or hear any names from the crowd. So he turned back and looked up towards Lucrecia.
  124.
  125. "Who were you looking for?" he asked. He could tell she was glancing around, and not at the people fighting. She seemed to be looking for a specific person.
  126. (Rook)
  127. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  128.
  129. [20:46] She shakes her head, leading Rook back to the cliff. "It isn't important. I saw someone standing amongst the knights with some very dangerous magic." She gets to the cliff with the boy and she looks to the bridge, "Are you two still alright?" She asks with a quick look away to Illari and Harriet, then she looks back to the bridge nervously.
  130.
  131. She then notices Odiseas, and she looks wide with eyes, "Oh! Odiseas, you were here too? Are you okay? What about your brothers?" She asks. She occasionally looks back at the bridge and all of the cosmic and fiery energies that dominated it while fights took place on the other side.
  132. (Lucrecia Elstrange)
  133. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  134.
  135. [20:47] Rook approached the cliff as much as he could without it being dangerous and looked up towards the bridge. He thinks he could still see some feint flickers of fire up there. Though he wasn't sure if that was from people or the grassland from all the fire magic being thrown around.
  136.
  137. Never had a situation turned into a mess like this. Usually political arguments in the slums ended with a dumb drunken brawl or a preacher getting arrested in the street.... But full on magic battles? The issue was apparently more delicate than he thought. Never did he think it would turn into something like this.
  138.
  139. Rook sighed and looked down a bit. Apparently times were changing... He hated it. Why can't everyone just be happy what they've got? Sure the upper class have way nicer things... And sure, Sudbury isn't exactly the greatest place, but a life is a life! Rook isn't the most philisophical person in the world, but he's happy he got to live this life in the slums, for better or worse.
  140.
  141. He looked up at Lucrecia as she answered his question. "Was it illegal magic? That'd be weird though." he asked. Rook wasn't very studied in the arts of magic, and he didn't know which were actually banned. But he did know there was an illegal list which existed.
  142. (Rook)
  143. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  144.
  145. [20:47] Harriet would look at Miss Lucrecia, and nod. Harriet looked at the fights happening on the bridge too, she was not smiling anymore, instead she had the straightest face she ever had put on. She blankly looks at her boss and mutters some words, that many wouldn't like the innocent to say.
  146.
  147. "Miss Lucrecia, are we going to die?" Harriet would say looking at Lucrecia hoping to get her full and honest answer... From what she could see her boss was freaking out about what was happening.
  148. (Harriet Multhunder)
  149. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  150.
  151. [20:49] Her eyes continued to follow Lucy until she was back with Illari and Harriet. When everyone was together and away from all the excitement the fox instead looked much more lazily toward the fights on the other end of the bridge, trying to make out what was happening anymore with very little success.
  152.
  153. "Yep, we're alright." she assured, somewhat off-handed as she moved forward. Herself and Harriet were quite honestly alright.
  154.
  155. When Harriet suddenly asked that heavy and concerning question though Illari immediately turned to her and responded. "No, no we're not Harriet. I promise." she offered, a clear protective nature about her even if she was likely one of the weaker beings here.
  156. (Illari Nerro)
  157. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  158.
  159. [20:51] She nods at Rook, "Yes, dangerously illegal magic." Her eyes almost shrink at the mention. Her dangerously sharp glare was now to the new fight on the bridge or what little of it she could make out. Without looking at Illari or Harriest she responds, "We're not going to die. We're going to be just fine." She then brushes some hair from her face.
  160.
  161. "The people on the bridge are in a more dangerous position." She declares. "We'll be okay here, and we shouldn't have to worry."
  162. (Lucrecia Elstrange)
  163. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  164.
  165. [20:51] Harriet Multhunder says, "Okay."
  166.
  167. [20:56] Rook turned from Lucrecia and back at the bridge. Normally he didn't care about such things, though illegal magic in the knights? That was too strange to simply brush off without thinking about. Especially with all the chaos happening recently.
  168.
  169. "" he wondered to himself. Rook knew the penalties to using magic like that. He made sure to understand the law fairly well to avoid too much trouble in the past. He assumed asking Lucrecia wouldn't get him an answer assuming she was looking for them herself.
  170.
  171. Though... One question did pop into his head for Lucrecia. "If you found them, what were you gonna do?" he asked her. His eyes turned to look at her when he asked. Illegal magic didn't occur often. Though at the mention of it, people tend to shy away. Her going towards the issue was strange.
  172. (Rook)
  173. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  174.
  175. [20:57] Yemelyan exclaims, "Hai illari!"
  176. [20:57] Yemelyan asks, "A attack happened here?"
  177. [20:57] Illari Nerro says, "I think so."
  178. [20:58] Rook says, "Yeah, a big one too."
  179. [20:58] Yemelyan asks, "Also are you still mad at me for that stupid thing i did?"
  180.
  181. [20:59] Illari didn't so much as look at Yemel. She was far too busy right now to deal with all that. She didn't know much about the knights but hearing that one of them was using illegal magic brought up a lot of questions for even her.
  182.
  183. Mainly... "There's illegal magic?" she practically whispered it, though that was mainly due to the fact it was closer to a thought than a real question.
  184. (Illari Nerro)
  185. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  186.
  187. [21:05] She nods her head with Illari's question. Then she responds to Rook, this entire time she hadn't looked at them until now, when her eyes have softened up and her hyper focused look had turned to one of smiiles and concern. "Do my best to identify them. To investigate it later." She looks back at the bridge now, "There are very dangerous illegal magics, like the occult, or dark magics. They're withcraft, heretical magics, by law, that bring out the worst in people."
  188.
  189. She sighs, "I've heard nobility likes to dabble in those magics... And keep them out of the hands of the poor probably out of fear and control... It's the kind of hypocrisy... The double standard this whole event is about." She looks at Illari and Harriet, "But you little ones needn't concern yourself with such things."
  190. (Lucrecia Elstrange)
  191. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  192.
  193. [21:05] The fox sighed a bit, wondering how he wasn't getting the weight of this situation if even Illari was sensing it. She continued to ignore the man and looked to Lucy, waiting for her word on things.
  194.
  195. Nearly as a nervous tick she was messing around with food, filling a small bag at her feet that she would be simply leaving when she walked away. She had enough food she liked to just leave her work for someone else to find.
  196. (Illari Nerro)
  197. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  198.
  199. [21:14] Rook narrowed his eyes and clenched his fists. "I get than I'm little but I'm not an idiot. In a year I'm gonna be able to join the Watch, Faith, or even the Knights... Though, I don't want to join any- people my age are dying for this kinda stuff. So don't tell us to not concern ourselves with it."
  200.
  201. He looked up at Lucrecia now, brow's bent forward. "... Do you think the Syndicate is in the right? Fighting whatever 'hypocracy' there is this way? Hell, is there even another way to do it?" he asked. He already knew what he felt- they were terrible. Just destroying the status quo for their own selfish reasons. But part of him wondered what the adults around him thought. Seeing as many of them were the ones who actually controlled everything.
  202. (Rook)
  203. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  204.
  205. [21:30] She looks back at Rook. Then she looks at the bridge. "I don't think there is a right or wrong way at all. This kind of thing is very complicated." She tries to figure th best way to phase it for the children, so they can understand. Whether it radicalized them or not was of no consequence. "The way things are now is bad. But not everyone hurts while things are bad. And things are only bad because someone, or some ones have cheated."
  206.
  207. There is an uncomfortable sigh and she goes on to say, "So what matters now is whether or not we just let it keep going, or do we find a way to make things fair for everybody. And there is no way to make things fair without someone getting hurt, or being sad." She looks at the waters, "Because not everyone is hurting, and some people are happy. But if things changed, they may hurt, or they may be happy."
  208.
  209. "And the people who are hurting or sad now, are only being hurt worse and made more sad the more they are stuck, and the more the guys who aren't sad or hurt beat them up for trying to not be. Its all... Really complex."
  210. (Lucrecia Elstrange)
  211. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  212.
  213. [21:37] Rook thought for a few moments about Lucrecia's answer. But he shook his head- "That doesn't sound complex to me..." he stated. "It's all people fightin' for themselves, their own benefit. When they find people who're fightin' with the same selfish reasons they join forces." he narrowed his eyes.
  214.
  215. "It's the same as Sudbury, probably even in the upper class too. Everyone just fights for themselves, their own benefit... Me too." he added in the end. Rook wasn't judging them, just stating the fact of the matter. He didn't really have a problem with that... Just, what they were doing was the opposite of what he wanted.
  216.
  217. He turned away and looked down towards the cliffs edge, into the water below. Rook just wanted everything to stay the same... No 'Syndicate', no 'revolution'. He didn't want the Watch doing anything but arresting drunks or the occasional preacher, or Knights needing to come down from the walls to handle crazy events. The young teen let out a sigh.
  218. (Rook)
  219. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  220.
  221. [21:44] Illari Nerro says, "I... I wanna go home. I need to sleep and hunt in the morning."
  222. [21:44] The fox turned and took her staff in one hand as she walked, feeling better to just hold the thing as she took her time walking back towards the slums.
  223. (Illari Nerro)
  224. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  225.
  226. [21:48] waves Illari goodbye.
  227. (Harriet Multhunder)
  228. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  229.
  230. [21:50] She looks back t Illari and nods, "Be careful Illari." She looks at Harriet and Rook, "We should all go back." She looks back at Odiseas. She encourages everyone along and behind Illari so they can walk together until everyone has gotten to their own separate homes. She wanted to make sure everyone made it home safe.
  231.
  232. "Is anyone staying at my farm tonight?" She asks when they walk, "I'll make sure Maddie has dinner ready and some tea." She then just watches Rook for the majority of the walk. The boy was surprisingly perceptive. There was just something about him.
  233.
  234. He was right. It was all about selfishness. People wanting different things. But when the world was divided up like that, you had to choose a side eventually, before one was chosen for you. The real horror in this story was that eventually no one will have a choice, and that's when things will be at its absolute worst.
  235. (Lucrecia Elstrange)
  236. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  237.
  238. [21:53] Rook perked up a little and nodded, following them as they left. "I didn't get a room at any inn for tonight. So yeah, I was gonna sleep in one of the beds at your farm." he answered.
  239.
  240. He wasn't one to get stuck thinking about one topic for too long. The second something else popped up, his head was already moving in that direction. "You don't have to worry about dinner or anything though."
  241. (Rook)
