  1. Breath of Fire II
  2.
  3. Platform: Snes / SFC
  4. Released (d.m.y):
  5. 02.12.1994 (Japan)
  6. 12.1995 (NA)
  7. 25.04.1996 (PAL)
  8.
  9. Based on: NTSC-J-version (SHVC-AF2J-JPN)
  10.
  11.
  12.
  13. - The game does not show you your play time, although it does track it.
  14. Consider tracking it manually or, if you're on emulator, checking it in
  15. the RAM.
  16. - Check the BoF2 guide by Ben Siron for information on the mechanics of
  17. the game. Do note, however, that it's got numerous typos in the numbers.
  18. Over the years, corrections have been made and additional information
  19. has been uncovered by others, mainly Nitrodon.
  20. - The game's game over policy is the "golden parachute;" when you die,
  21. you lose half of the money you're carrying and end up at the last save
  22. point you used. If you can't return to that save point, you'll end up
  23. at some other location.
  24. - Inventory slots: 48 | Storage slots: 126
  25. - Stats
  26. Tsuyosa (Str) | Base ATP
  27. Stamina | Base DFP
  28. Subayasa (Agi) | Base Koudouryoku ("ability to act"), chance to flee
  29. Kashikosa (Int) | Magical damage and defense, Status hit rate / resistance
  30. Un no Yosa (Luck) | Chance to flee, Cond. changes
  31. Konjou (Guts) | Special abilities
  32. Choushi (Cond) | Critical hit rate, Counterattack rate, Evade rate
  33.
  34. - Vigor = Agi - armor weight. Vigor determines acting order during battle.
  35. - The actual Guts value is not visible. Instead, the game shows flames,
  36. with each flame representing 32 points. Guts is the only stat that has
  37. some random variation in how it increases on leveling up.
  38. - The actual Condition value is not visible. Instead, the game shows a
  39. description (Futsuu / Mazumazu / Eekanji / Baribari) that changes every
  40. 64 points. Condition increases (or possibly decreases) as you spend time
  41. on the field (with Luck playing a minor role as well).
  42. - Baribari Condition gives you a base crit rate of 37,5%, a counterattack
  43. rate of 50% and an evade rate of 18,75%.
  44. - A counterattack will be a critical hit if the character has landed a
  45. critical hit earlier that round.
  46. - Counterattacks ignore elemental variables.
  47. - Defending decreases damage by either 50%, 36%, 25%, or 19% and affects
  48. both physical and magical damage.
  49. - When a character dies, they have a small chance of being revived with
  50. 12,5% HP.
  51. - Depending on your formation, the game applies additional multipliers
  52. to damage dealt (Dmg a), damage received (Dmg b) and critical hit rate.
  53.
  54. Dmg a Dmg b Crit

  69.
  70. - A few enemies are highly resistant to magic, but they'll still take
  71. normal damage from spells that are triggered by using items.
  72. - The Exp figure you see at the end of battle is the combined total
  73. amount of Exp all characters gained. Exp is not divided.
  74. - You can surprise the enemy, but the enemy can't surprise you.
  75. - There are three different encounter rates: low, medium and high, as
  76. indicated by the goblin in the menu.
  77. - The overworld consists of 256 (16x16) map sections. By default, each
  78. map section on the overworld has a medium encounter rate (K7 being the
  79. one exception), but it drops to low if Ryuu has reached a certain level.
  80. - Encounters have a fixed set of enemies, but a random variable often
  81. removes one enemy or more from the set.
  82. - Elemental resistance provided by equipment is often quite insignificant.
  83. - Spells can deal critical hits (1,5x damage).
  84. - Equipping two items that grant regen will not increase the effect.
  85. Regeneration will not occur when moving as a frog, rolling, surfing,
  86. flying or when in Huntsvil.
  87. - If you want to stack items without messing up your custom item
  88. arrangement, put them into storage.
  89.
  90. - Common healing items Uncommon healing items
  91. Yakusou s| 40 HP Roosu s| 100% HP
  92. Genkidama s| 100 HP Topurifu Ekisu | 100% HP
  93. Chiryoku no Mi s| +20 AP, -20 HP Rifuraru Ekisu | 120 HP \all
  94. Kitsukeyaku s| Revive w/ 100% HP Hard Senbei | 100% HP\all+DefUpX
  95. Dokukeshi s| Heal Poison Tsuki no Shizuku | Rev./Heal 100%\all
  96. Kiyome no Tsuyu s| Heal Curse Chie no Tama s| 100 AP
  97. Bemu no Namida s| Heal Rotting/Zombie
  98. Bannouyaku s| Heal status s: stackable
  99.
  100. - Status ailments:
  101. Poison | -1 HP per step (nothing in battle).
  102. Sleep | Unable to act until hit with a physical.
  103. Rotting | Turn into a Zombie at the end of the next round.
  104. Zombie | Character attacks own party members.
  105. Curse | Choushi 0
  106.
  107. - Enemies generally inflict ailments using either a single target or a
  108. multi-target attack. The single target one also deals damage, while the
  109. multi-target one does not. Both have what seems like a 50% success rate.
  110. - Many spells produce visual effects that you shouldn't look at.
  111. - If you want to translate any of the Japanese words, just punch it
  112. into jisho.org.
  113. - The game gives you the option of turning the music off (one of the
  114. very few RPGs on the Snes that lets you do that). While I'm certainly
  115. very fond of the soundtrack, I do turn the music off at times (such as
  116. in SimaFort, when cooking and possibly when grinding).
  117. - Save data is actually compatible between the different Snes versions
  118. of the game, although going between English and Japanese will mess up
  119. the character names. I don't know if the messed up names might actually
  120. cause some issues somewhere. I haven't done a full playthrough like that.

  176. - You can rest for free in your apartment on the second floor of the
  177. building near the front gate (not the inn).
  178. - You can't explore the northern part of the town at this time.
  179. - Some buildings are locked at night, and there are also fewer NPCs
  180. around at night. Aside from that, the day and night cycle only really
  181. has a cosmetic effect.
  182. - You can exit the menu instantly by pressing X.
  183. - Don't forget to save your game at the dragon god statue.
  184. - Use L and R to switch the lead character on the field.
  185.
  186. - Don't forget to make use of the handy Auto-Battle (Totsugeki) command.
  187. - Using L and R during battle gives you the Switch and Defend commands.
  188. - You should buy a Dou no Ken and a Tetsu no Kou (370 Z).
  189. - I recommend against updating Bow's equipment. He'll soon end up MIA
  190. and will stay that way for quite a long time.
  191. - Ryu's special skill, Kiai, allows him to heal some of his HP.
  192. - Bow's default special skill, Nerau, has him attempting an instant kill.
  193. (success rate goes down for higher level enemies). His field ability is
  194. hunting.
  195. - Press Select on the overworld to view the world map. It employs map
  196. section based fog.
  197. - The encounter rate in the HomeTown map section drops from high to low
  198. once Ryuu hits Lv5. The neighboring map sections (that have the same
  199. encounters) will still have a medium encounter rate at that point, and
  200. it doesn't drop until you hit Lv8.
  201. - After every battle on the overworld, there's a chance that a fishing
  202. spot or hunting spot will become available. Fishing spots have fixed
  203. locations, whereas hunting spots appear in a random tile. After getting
  204. a kill while hunting, pick up the item as quickly as possible or the
  205. item will degrade in quality or even disappear. When an animal is in
  206. a bush, it can't see you, but you can't damage it.
  207. - If you feel that accumulating money from fighting battles is too slow,
  208. you can sell fish and items obtained through hunting. Hunting in particular
  209. can be a significant source of income at the earlier stages of the game.
  210. A full batch of Roosu will net you 1800 Z, although you should probably
  211. hoard up on it as well, seeing as it fully heals a single character's HP.
  212. - Don't bother traveling east across the bridge yet. Not only are the
  213. enemies tough, but there's nowhere to go, as there's a guy blocking
  214. your way north, and the Exp isn't much better than what you get in the
  215. mountain.

  224. - You can probably survive here at Lv3. Stay by the healing spring and
  225. level up to at least Lv5. Leveling up on the overworld will get you more
  226. money, though (assuming you're okay at hunting).
  227. - You'll stop getting encounters in the outside areas once you've fought
  228. 15 battles there.
  229. - You'll fight the boss after passing through the first cave area.

  282. you really shouldn't use a Coin on that. You can't afford the stuff anyway.
  283. - If you donate to the church 20 times (2000 Z) either here or in Moto

  324. - After fighting Jinjibuchou (160 HP, 169 xp) and getting the key, head
  325. for the dress room, but do NOT open the chest (the one in the right room.
  326. The left one is a dummy, but feel free to try to get it). Ignore it for

  328. taken all your money, it's okay to grab the chest.

  330. [Boss]
  331. - 220 HP, 26 DFP, 42 ATP, 50% Crit, 200 Exp, 80 Z
  332. - After the battle, you're supposed to cover Katt, so she doesn't get
  333. hit by the needles (simply hold up on the d-pad). If you succeed, she'll
  334. join you right away. If you screw up, she'll join you after Augus.

  337.
  338. - Get new gear (690 Z) and 2 levels for Katt. You can also get a Seidou

  340. - Katt's default special skill, Sasou, tries to force enemies to attack
  341. her. I've never gotten any use out of it. On the field, she can hunt and
  342. smash things with her staff.
  343. - You're going to need the money, so you should learn how to hunt properly
  344. with Katt. Don't approach the animals directly and time your attacks well.
  345. - Katt learns three powerful spells early in the game, but won't have
  346. enough AP to cast them for a long time (Gureigoru (17) at Lv39, Padoraamu
  347. (20) at Lv61, Baruharaa (30) at Lv74).

  436. - Stay away from the well for now.
  437. - The Biru Medals will have no use, so you don't really need to pick
  438. them up. No big deal if you do. They stack, so, at most, they'll take
  439. 2 slots of your storage.
  440. - You'll likely have to level up for a while before you can take out the
  441. next boss. Lv10 is enough, but I would recommend a little higher than that.

  446. - Seishinha will force one of your characters to attack your own party.
  447.
  448. - After the battle, Ray asks you to rescue the villagers in the well.
  449. There are 6 people in total and four of them have been attacked by
  450. facehuggers. You don't actually have to rescue any of them. Just talk
  451. to Ray and tell him you're done.
  452. - Whatever you do, do *not* save more than 4 villagers.
  453. - If you use a multitarget spell, the villager will get hit first and
  454. inevitably die, forcing the battle to end before the Chiroru is even
  455. hit by the spell. In any case, these battles are always worth 0 xp and
  456. Zenny.
  457. - Afterwards, Ray asks you to take him to your hideout (henceforth
  458. referred to as Kyoudoutai). Better not save your game in case you get
  459. the wrong spell.

  466.
  467. - Ray will offer to teach one of your characters either Apurifu (0-4
  468. villagers saved) or Ribaru (5 or 6 villagers saved). I'd say it's a
  469. choice between Sten and Nina, so go with whoever you're planning on
  470. using more often.
  471. - Rand can now join the party again.
  472. - Rand's field ability allows you to move more quickly, although hitting
  473. something will force you into a random encounter.
  474. - Rand's special skill, Kitsuke, has a chance of reviving a dead character
  475. with 1 HP. You can also use it to wake up a sleeping party member.
  476. - From now on, you can change party members at dragon statues.

  486. - After the Union experiment, head back to Capitan. Talk to the guy
  487. next to the inn to get warped back to Kyoudoutai, where Granny asks
  488. you to go and find a carpenter in Capitan.
  489. - The three new spells you received are quite powerful, but they will
  490. always drain all of Ryu's AP when used.
  491.
  492. -- Capitan --
  493.
  494. - The carpenter you want is definitely the guy in the east-most
  495. building (the regular-looking house). Do *NOT* choose any other
  496. carpenter!
  497. - Choosing the guy who makes normal houses allows you to create
  498. stat-boost items by cooking.

  510. - Watch out for those Ganmen Iwas. Itetsuku Iki tends to hurt (~50 pod
  511. to all).
  512.
  513. - From now on, you're more likely to run into Beaks and Grizzlies while
  514. hunting. Coming into contact with them will initiate a battle (and thus
  515. end the hunting session). Beaks will actively pursue you, take 6 hits
  516. to kill, leave no items, and to top it all off, they respawn after 10
  517. seconds. They're not common yet at this point in the game, but eventually
  518. they will be. If you hit them at the bottom of the screen, you can
  519. basically take them out with a single hit (they'll move off-screen and,

  528.
  529. - This one shows up very close to the Yamaneko Restaurant. You need to
  530. stay within three vertical tiles from the restaurant. Otherwise, you're
  531. in the wrong map section.
  532. - You'll find Maniros in certain fishing spots. When you catch one, you
  533. can access their shop. The only bait that works is the Coin. It takes
  534. 15 seconds for Maniro to show up. Keep your lure close and you should
  535. be able to catch them with little effort.
  536. - You can get a free Kenja no Robe at Majo no Tou, so don't buy one.
  537. - You'll find a Circlet in the cave behind the waterfall (available
  538. after Majo no Tou). It's one point higher than the Kokuyou no Kabuto,
  539. and everyone can equip it (except for Rand, of course).
  540. - Buster Sword, 2 Kokuyou no Kabuto = 5800 Z.
  541.
  542. - There's a hidden tech you can get at the WildCat Restaurant, but it's
  543. a lot easier once you have Jean. Keep in mind, you won't be able to get

  564. in a row, the gate will open, and the switch won't do anything anymore.
  565. If you leave the tower, the gate will reset, forcing you to repeat the

  593. - This is where I (somewhat briefly) get to use my usual party:
  594. Ryu, Katt, Jean, Sten.
  595. - Jean's field ability allows you to move in inland waters and hop over
  596. small obstacles. At Level 14, he'll also learn the spell Hyuuru, which
  597. *may* come in handy.
  598. - Jean's default special skill, Tsukitsuki, is an attack that targets

  616.
  617. Special: Boss:
  618. Sengiri / HP +16 (party) Yamaneko
  619.
  620. - We're now going to pick up a hidden technique called Sengiri from
  621. one of the friendly chefs at the Yamaneko Restaurant. The process is
  622. a little tricky, though, as you'll have to fight a difficult boss with
  623. a number of penalties (such as no items), and even if you survive, you
  624. might end up getting the HP boost instead. The HP boost is certainly
  625. worth considering as well, though (unless you're planning on using a
  626. party with Bow, Spar and Bleu). Using something like the Fire Ring as
  627. an item gives you essentially the same effect as Sengiri, and anyone can
  628. use it. The only cost is that it'll take up one slot in your inventory.
  629.
  630. - First off, you'll have to leave your items, no exceptions. Then, you'll
  631. be asked to take off your equipment (numbers 2 - 4) and replace them
  632. with items that have virtually no power whatsoever. This really isn't
  633. going to help you take out the boss, so this is where we're going to
  634. refuse to follow the instructions and fight our way through the Guardman
  635. (I'm sure you can handle him). HOWEVER, you can only afford to do this
  636. twice, otherwise you'll get the HP boost. I suggest you skip numbers
  637. 3 and 4 (you don't even have to read the sign, you can just ignore it),
  638. so you'll only lose your accessories and headwear. If you want the HP
  639. boost instead, ignore the signs from 2-5.
  640. - The salt and pepper thing doesn't do anything.
  641. - Number 6 defines how much HP you'll lose before the boss. Go with Rare,
  642. and you'll only lose 25%. If you ignore the sign, you'll start the boss
  643. with only 1 HP.

  655. odds aren't great. Try hitting him with Sutooru and Deiru in that case.
  656.

  660. 8. Ohitoyoshi da na? ---> Yes
  661.
  662. - And that's it. I gave the skill to Katt.
  663. - The HP boost increases the max HP of all active party members by 16.

  665. - Talk to the bouncer on your way out to get your items back.

1062. Katt, but it's easier to get in the Fog Valley.

  1071. Lost & Found:
1072. Elmore no Ken / Demonic Knife (Undead Thief \ 1)
1073. Seirei no Tate (Anubis Mummy \ 1)
  1074.
1075. - You'll find it easier to survive here than out in the desert, as
1076. the enemies are mostly undead, so you can easily do double damage
1077. with every character (the enemies also have less HP and DFP). You can
1078. survive even a little below Lv30, but I'd recommend closer to Lv35.
1079. You should also get Spar first, so Ryuu can have the Life Armor. It
1080. helps a lot. You'll still likely get some game overs, but it's not a
  1081. big deal.
1082. - You're likely looking at enemies doing 50 pod per hit, double with
1083. criticals (less for Ryuu). You'll mostly be fighting Undead Thieves
1084. and Anubis Mummies. The former have a high critical hit rate, and the
1085. latter can cast Reigiru (100 pod).
1086. - Although you can't actually explore the dungeon yet, there's a very
1087. good reason we're here, and that is the Demonic Knife, Sten's ultimate
1088. weapon. So, if you're using Sten, you might as well get it now. You
1089. won't even need Sweh, as "Sheefs" are quite common.
1090. - The Elmore no Ken (usable by Ryu and Jean) is the strongest Holy-
1091. elemental weapon you can find at this point in the game.
1092. - And let's not forget the Seirei no Tate, the fourth strongest shield in
1093. the game, which can be used by everyone except Rand. It's the strongest
1094. shield for Nina, Bleu and Spar. You can buy these later in the game,
1095. but I suggest you get at least one of them now (for Katt).

1101. Topurifu Ekisu / Rifuraru Ekisu (Atomic Gummy, Gangan Head)
  1102. Omamori / Hikari no Udewa (Choorukin \ 3)
1103. Holy Plate / Bushin no Kote (Gummy Ou \ 3)
  1104.
1105. - Better deposit all your money into the bank before coming here. If
1106. you have too much trouble with the enemies, just come back a little
1107. later. Lv40 should be good.
1108. - Rounding up the world tour is the infamous Giant's Island (or whatever
1109. you want to call it), found by sailing south from Guntz. Let's have a
1110. look at the four enemies you can find here, and how to deal with them:
  1111. 1. Choorukin | 25 HP, 500 DFP, 265 ATP, 500 Agi
1112. - Use Sengiri. If you don't have that, use a Fire Ring (you know,
1113. as an item). Bring some antidotes to counter Poison Breath.
1114. - Your second source for Hikari no Udewas.
  1115. 2. Ganganhead | 1000 HP, 0 DFP, 252 ATP, 172 Agi
1116. - Likes to use Topurifu but only has enough AP to cast it twice.
  1117. 3. Atomic Gummy | 900 HP, 55 DFP, 270 ATP, 190 Agi
1118. - These guys have absolutely no resistance to Waasu (the other ones
1119. are immune)(might still fail at lower levels), so cast that if you
1120. can. When needed, you can also use the Mashou no Tate to drain their
1121. AP. They're really not that hard to beat up either, and I always go
1122. with melee whenever Jean's refilling his AP.
  1123. 4. Gummy Ou | 1000 HP, 150 DFP, 300 ATP, 500 Agi
1124. - The encounter has three of them by default, The encounter chance is
  1125. maybe 1/32.
1126. - They only have two moves: their normal attack and Waasu, which has
  1127. a 100% hit rate (unless you're wearing a certain elusive accessory).
1128. The odds of Waasu being cast is low at first, but increase as their
1129. HP goes down. Get them below 500 HP with other attacks before you hit
1130. them with a Dragon spell.
1131. - The Holy Plate is pretty much the best body armor in the game. Aside
1132. from boasting very high DFP, it also gives you a 25% chance of nullifying
1133. magical damage (the Gin no Tiara and Yomi no Udewa have the same
1134. ability). It can be equipped by Ryu, Jean, Sten and Bow.
1135. - Using Surikae, you can typically get a Gummy Ou encounter in about
  1136. 5 minutes.
  1137.
1138. - None of the enemies here have elemental affinities, so that's one
1139. thing you don't have to worry about.
1140. - Sell, drop, or use the Topurifu Ekisus, but whatever you do, don't
1141. start hoarding up on them, as Roosu is so much more space-efficient.
1142. - Hoarding up on some Rifuraru Ekisus, on the other hand, is a pretty
1143. good idea, especially if you don't have Bow or Rand in your standard
1144. party. In any case, don't let them fill up your inventory. If your
1145. inventory is full, enemies won't drop anything.
1146. - This is the place where you'll want to build up to Lv99 (assuming
1147. you're a bad enough dude to do so). You can get one level in about 20
1148. minutes. You should of course do it after getting all the rare drops
1149. you want. The Holy Plate is indeed one of them, but I wouldn't bother
1150. trying to get those without Surikae. As always, grinding will feel less
1151. tedious if you have something playing in the background, such as kawaii
  1152. vtubers from Japan.
  1153.
  1154. -- Fishing Spot --
  1155.
  1156. Fish: Ai no Udewa
  1157.
  1158. - This one's on Giant's Island.
1159. - Ai no Udewa gives you regen, which can keep you healed up quite well.
1160. Until you get more of them, you can just pass along this one as needed.
  1161.
  1162.
1163. - As soon as you have the money, you should start cooking stat-boost
1164. items. If you're already at Lv50, you can go ahead and max out anything
1165. you want. If not, you should take the upcoming stat gains at least up
1166. until Lv50 into consideration (your stat gains are very minimal after
1167. Lv50). Hopefully, you've already decided on your final party.
1168. - No need to max everything out. Here's what I recommend:
  1169. × Str: Max (255).
  1170. × Stm: At least 200.
1171. × Agi: 250. Agility maxes out at 511, but few enemies have more than 200.
  1172. × Wisdom: 207.
  1173. × Luck: Pass.
  1174. × Guts: Pass.
  1175.
1176. - Maxing your Agility not only has few benefits, but it also makes it
1177. a little harder to run away from enemies (except the super fast ones).
1178. This is likely due to a programming error.
1179. - In any case, start by depositing all your items, then fill your
1180. inventory with the stuff you can buy at Guntz depending on which stat
1181. boost items you want to create. See the recipes below.
1182. × Stamina's a little tricky, as the recipe involves Bera, so if you
1183. didn't sign up Daiye, you're out of luck (and I *did* tell you to pick
1184. him up). Plus, you have to manage the quantities so as to ensure a
  1185. smooth cooking process. I myself went with 39 F.Spice + 78 Beras
  1186. (8 × 9 + 6).
1187. - By no means do you need to get all of this done right now. If you can
1188. at least take care of your Strength (you'll need about 100k or so),
1189. that's good enough for now.
  1190.
  1191. Strength | Power Food | 3× Kakigoori (300 Z)
  1192. Stamina | Stamina no Moto| Fire Spice + 2× Bera (700 Z)
  1193. Agility | Hayameshi | 2× Kaminariokoshi (200 Z)
  1194. Luck | Lucky Bonbon | mix (eg. Fire Spice + Kakigoori) (200 Z)
  1195. Wisdom | Misonikomi | 2× Fire Spice (200 Z)
  1196. Guts | Konjoudama | 2× Kakigoori (200 Z)

1219. Apurifu (on random targets), while Suiki spams you with Baru (~35 pod).
1220. These two only have 100 HP, but they're revived so quickly, attacking

1278. Elmore no Ken / Demonic Knife (Chimera \ 2)
  1279.
1280. - You won't be able to handle the enemies well until you're closer to
1281. Lv50, but you should probably try to get the fishing spot to appear
1282. once you're about Lv30. You can take out Vulcan Rocks with a dragon
1283. spell and you can probably just beat up Marble Golems. The Mammos have
1284. 736 HP, so a dragon spell alone won't cut it. If there's only one, you
1285. should be able to finish it off. You can also use Waasu. If there's two
1286. of them, you might want to try to run away. You certainly want to run
1287. away from the Chimera. So, yeah, you need to get fairly lucky, but the
1288. armor is well worth it.
1289. - Also, if you haven't fished a treasure chest before, go practice with
1290. the one near TownShip. Any input when Ryu is pulling the chest up will
1291. be ignored, so you need to get a hang of the rhythm. If you fail too
1292. many times, the chest will end up too close to you, and you can't really
  1293. hook it anymore.
1294. - Yet another high profile rare drop: the Mammo no Kegawa, Rand's best
1295. armor. If you're using Rand, you definitely want to get it. It can wait
1296. until you get Surikae, though.

1304. strongest armor in the game (Ryu, Jean, Sten). In addition to high
1305. defense, it also grants the wearer regeneration (1 HP per step). It's
  1306. a little heavy, though.

  1328.
1329. - In case you haven't been here before, you can find the castle on the
1330. outskirts of the desert southeast from TownShip.
1331. - You will no longer have access to this area once you complete the
  1332. events here.
1333. - Sten is mandatory here plus he has to go solo for a while, so if you
1334. haven't been using him at all, you might want to warm him up first.
1335. - Also keep in mind, you won't be able to change your party members,
1336. and you'll be stuck in the castle until you finish all the events.
1337. - Make your way to the throne room, and you'll soon find yourself in
1338. control of Sten, while the rest of your party is unavailable.
1339. - The first three items are downstairs from where Sten begins. You can't
1340. get those later (not that they're anything important).
1341. - Although you can't leave the castle, you'll have access to basic
1342. town services for a while. Make sure you're thoroughly prepared before
1343. you challenge Turuboo (Holy weapons, enough free space for treasure).
  1344.
  1345. [Boss: Turuboo]
  1346. - 110 HP, 1750 Exp, 1000 Z
1347. - Simply defend during the first phase (or heal if needed), as you
1348. can't win. It ends after 3 rounds.
1349. - In the second phase (when the bridge is falling), you have 4 rounds
  1350. to kill him.
  1351.
1352. - You'll find a healing spring (first of two) and a save point at the
1353. bottom of the eastern tower, but you can't get back to the item shop
1354. or storage since the bridge is out.
1355. - The next six items are found in Sten's solo section. After passing
1356. behind the throne room, there are three paths. The left and right ones
1357. have treasure. Next, there are two paths. The left one has treasure.
1358. - After being reunited with your three other characters, you can finally
1359. start encountering Soulflickers (common in the areas after the Mahou
1360. no Tobira). These guys drop the elusive Yomi no Udewa, which gives you
1361. magic evade. There's one of these in the final dungeon, but aside from
1362. that, this is your only chance to actually get more of them. I get one
1363. myself (for Katt). Rand is the only character who can only get magic
1364. evade off a Yomi no Udewa. If you want him to get magic evade before
1365. the final dungeon, your only choice is to score one here. Then again,
1366. with his HP, he doesn't really need it as much as, say, Katt or Nina.
1367. - The Dokuro no Udewa makes the wearer slightly more susceptible to Waasu.
1368. - Eventually, you'll find a room with three teleporters
1369. × The left one will take you back to the second healing spring (near
  1370. the MoonMask).
1371. × The right one is the emergency exit. Although you still can't leave
1372. the castle, you can use it to return to the save point or revisit Sten's
1373. solo section in case you missed any items. When you want back, go
1374. examine the switch in the throne room.
1375. × Both the left and right teleporters are one-way only.
1376. × The middle one will take you to the Mahou no Tobira.

1539. the map sections are laid out, the spot will never appear when you're

  1675. Omamori / Hikari no Udewa (Gargoyle \ 2)
  1676.
1677. - You will no longer have access to this area once you complete the
  1678. events in the castle.
1679. - You can explore most of the dungeon with any party, but you won't
1680. be able to finish it without Nina.
1681. - Technically, the first chest is in the castle, but you have to go
1682. through the basement to get it.
1683. - The Valkyrias are common here, especially in the area with the statue
1684. that takes you to Nina's solo section. There are no Gargoyles there,
1685. though, so I'd recommend the earlier areas (I get at least one Hikari
  1686. no Udewa here myself).
1687. - If you die in Nina's solo section (highly likely if she doesn't have
1688. Shezaaga (Lv22)), you'll end up back at the first statue. This doesn't
1689. count as a game over, so you won't lose any money. Nina is fully healed
1690. whenever you go in. Make sure you get the two chests before you proceed
  1691. to the boss.
  1692.
  1693. [Boss]
  1694. - x HP (same as Nina), 60 DFP, 175 ATP, 70 Agi, 2400 Exp, 700 Z
1695. - Lv19 is, once again, barely enough.
  1696.

  1698.
  1699. Items:
1700. Rifuraru Ekisu Gin no Tiara Tsuki no Shizuku
  1701.
1702. - Return to the king with the Tsubasa no Akashi. Once you're in control
1703. of Nina again, head for the ceremonial tower.
  1704.
  1705.
1706. - You've finally gained the ability to fly (allowing you to obtain a
1707. couple of more delicious magic items). Just keep in mind that only Nina
1708. can call the Great Bird (Ootori).
1709. - The Gin no Tiara is the best helmet for Katt, Nina, Bleu, and Spar.
1710. The Taiyou no Kamen may be 3 points higher in Defense, but the Gin no
1711. Tiara also grants random immunity to spells. Most useful considering
1712. none of these characters can wear the Holy Plate (plus then you can
1713. replace the Yomi no Udewa). Of course, Taiyou no Kamens are a little
  1714. easier to come by.

1721. character by 16 points. Again, I chose Katt.

  1726.
1727. - Loot the inn near St. Eva's church (stay away from the church itself
1728. for now, though) to find the Takumi no Sao, the best rod in the game.
1729. This one can easily reel in all those underwater treasure chests.
  1730.
  1731. -- Fishing Spot --
  1732.
1733. Fish: Koutei no Ken (Unique)
  1734.
1735. - This one's east of TownShip and requires Mina's flying abilities.
1736. - The Koutei no Ken is, indeed, the most powerful weapon in the game,
1737. with an ATP of 160 (bringing you to a total of 415). You can use it as
1738. an item to cast Babaru. Use that to take out groups of Ganymedes.

1749. - East of St. Eva's Church, you'll find an island with some palm trees
1750. and a single building that happens to be one of the greatest armories
1751. in the game. Bring some cash with you.
1752. - The Amber Ring is the second strongest ring in the game. You'll need
1753. at least one of these, as the strongest ring is unique.
1754. - The Wisdom Robe is fairly light,
1755. - I grabbed two Hahanaru Koromos; one for Nina and one for Bleu (more
1756. if I didn't get lucky with the Holy Plates). Spar would be getting one
1757. eventually as well (you can find one in the final dungeon). It's the
1758. strongest armor he can wear.
1759. - I got two Taiyou no Kamens for Ryu and Sten. Jean would get the one
1760. found in the Thieves' Tomb.
1761. - You might already have a bunch of Seirei no Tates, but, yeah, either
1762. way, you'll want at least three of them (for Nina, Bleu and Spar). Katt
1763. should also use one until you manage to score a Bushin no Kote (which
  1764. you may already have).

1774. the very eastern end of the island (the last 3 horizontal tiles).
  1775. - I suggest you buy 4 Waasu Rings.
1776. - If you're using Sten in your standard party but still haven't gotten
1777. the Demonic Knife, you can just go with the Slicer instead, as it's
1778. still powerful enough to get his ATP to max when using Djinni.

  1795.
  1796. Lost & Found:
  1797. Mars no Tate / Notung (Ragnarider \ 3)
  1798.
1799. - You can get Jean's ultimate weapon, Notung, on the island where the
1800. armory is. Even if you don't use Jean, you might still want to pick it
1801. up for Ryu, as it's the strongest Holy-elemental weapon in the game.
1802. - Ragnariders are arguably more dangerous than Gummy Ous. They have
1803. higher ATP and DFP, and can heavily damage your entire party with
1804. Gureigoru, Padoraamu and Shezaaga (~100 pod to all). If there's only
1805. one of them, you don't have too much to worry about, but if there are
1806. two, you'll want to use a dragon spell and maybe try to hit them with

1910. - The battle ends once Ryu uses Kaiser Dragon (learnt after dealing some
  1911. damage).
  1912.
1913. - Kaiser Dragon deals 999 pod to all enemies.
1914. - This is the point where Beretta's last set of wares becomes available.
1915. - You'll need Rand's field ability to take down a couple of walls after
1916. finding Daisy. Solo becomes available after taking down the second one.
1917. - After taking out the two Yumiheis, jump down from where the first
1918. Yumihei was to reach the Dokuro no Udewa. This takes you all the way back
1919. to the beginning, so feel free to leave (you won't need Rand anymore).
1920. While you're at it, go pick up Solo (and Seini) and get some gear from
  1921. Beretta (listed below).
  1922.
  1923. [Boss: Roujin]
1924. - DO NOT ATTACK THE OLD MAN if you want the best ending (and the flying
1925. TownShip). I usually don't get it myself. However, even if you save the
1926. old man, you still need to trigger the scene where TownShip gains the
1927. ability to fly to get the best ending. As such, you could save the old
1928. man, but not trigger the flying TownShip scene, and thus still have both
  1929. endings available.
1930. - There are four targets:
  1931.
  1932. A C A: 538 HP, 169 DFP, 504 AP, W:F, R:I
  1933. D B: 538 HP, 169 DFP, 64 AP, W:I, R:F D: 312 HP
  1934. B C: 538 HP, 169 DFP, 504 AP
  1935.
1936. - Each eye only has one spell it'll use:
  1937. - A: Reigiru (~100 pod) (10 AP)
  1938. - B: Padaama (~50 pod \ all) (12 AP)
  1939. - C: Rifuraru (heal 120 HP \ all) (20 AP)
1940. - If low on AP, the eyes will drain AP from Ganer. This is considered
1941. Ganer's action, so the eye still gets to act that round.
1942. - Like all enemies, the eyes may rarely defend.
1943. - The machine has an increasing probability to force Ganer to cast a
1944. spell on you. This can only happen when all four targets are alive.
1945. Whenever Ganer casts a spell, the eyes don't get to act. He can cast
  1946. Gureigoru (~100), Padoraamu (~120) and Baruharaa (~180).
1947. - It's easy to hit Ganer unintentionally due to automatic target switching.
1948. If you accidentally kill him, there's no need to reset. Just get a game
1949. over instead (you can just attack your own characters if the eyes aren't
1950. doing it). You should kill one or two of the eyes before that, as this
1951. allows you to see their health bars the next time you fight them. A and
1952. C use the same kill flag (despite their differences), so killing one of
1953. them gives you both of their health bars.

1966. Knuckle is Rand's ultimate weapon, and the Dokyuu is Bow's ultimate
1967. weapon (kind of, not really).
1968. × I bought only one ShinyHT, and that was for Bow. Sten would get a
1969. free one soon, and Ryu and Jean would receive updates not long after
  1970. that as well.
  1971. × The Armor Pain is Ryu's strongest non-elemental weapon, but there's
1972. really no need for it. Only Spirits resist Thunder, and you should
  1973. use a Holy-elemental weapon for those.
1974. × The Haou no Yoroi is the strongest armor you can buy (usable by Ryu,
1975. Jean and Sten). If you've failed to procure any Holy Plates, you may

2081. the southern ladder first and get the two items on that path (Dragon
2082. Helm and Seirei no Tate), then return to B1 and take the northern path.
2083. - If you still want Gin no Tiaras, you can encounter Magic Masters in
2084. pairs in most areas in lower Infinity. The B2 level is ideal.
2085. - Once you reach an area that's completely dark, you're about to encounter
2086. Barbario. Do not proceed without a good supply (~10) of Rifuraru Ekisu
2087. (if you're not using Bow or Rand).

  2122.
  2123.
  2124. [Boss]
  2125. - 5000 HP, 140 DFP, 380/473/511 ATP, 90 Agi, 4000 Exp, 5000 Z
2126. - At first, you'll fight him with your full party. However, the battle
2127. ends after inflicting some damage. You then have the choice of fighting
2128. him with Ryu alone (not recommended).
  2129. - Baruharaa: ~130-180. Honoo no Iki / Itetsuku Iki: ~100.
2130. - Even his normal attack hits all your characters, so expect heavy damage
2131. every turn. His ATP increases when below 50% and 25% HP.
  2132.
2133. - In the next area, you'll find the final save point. The final boss
2134. is just around the corner (straight north after using the teleporter).
2135. - The little rooms you can reach from the area with the Haja no Kanmuri
2136. are the only places in the game where you can encounter Pendragon and
2137. Zodiac (not in the same rooms, though). They have a low encounter rate
2138. and the items have low drop rates. I suggest you forget about them.
2139. - Return to the area where you fought Barbario with Katt and Sten in
2140. their basic forms. Look for a rock you can smash on the right side.
2141. After taking care of that, you'll have to cross a gap with Sten in
2142. order to reach the Inochi no Udewa.
  2143.
  2144. [Boss]
  2145. - 10 000 HP, 140 DFP, 400 ATP, 138 Agi
2146. - You'll have to use Anfini in order to end the first phase.
  2147. - Itetsuku Iki: ~100 pod \all
2148. - One of his attacks drains 60 HP and 25% of cAP from all your characters.
  2149. - Bone Laser: ~110 pod \all
2150. - Again, bring a good amount of Rifuraru Ekisu for healing.
