- Breath of Fire II
- Platform: Snes / SFC
- Released (d.m.y):
- 02.12.1994 (Japan)
- 12.1995 (NA)
- 25.04.1996 (PAL)
- Based on: NTSC-J-version (SHVC-AF2J-JPN)
- - The game does not show you your play time. Consider tracking it
- manually.
- - Check the BoF2 guide by Ben Siron for information on the mechanics
- of the game. Do note, however, that it's got numerous typos in the
- numbers. Over the years, corrections have been made and additional
- information has been uncovered by others, mainly Nitrodon.
- - The game's game over policy is the "golden parachute;" when you die,
- you lose half of the money you're carrying and end up at the last save
- point you used. If you can't return to that save point, you'll end up
- at some other location.
- - Inventory slots: 48 | Storage slots: 126
- - Stats
- Tsuyosa (Str) | Base ATP
- Stamina | Base DFP
- Subayasa (Agi) | Base Koudouryoku ("ability to act"), chance to flee
- Kashikosa (Int) | Magical damage and defense, debuff hit rate / resistance
- Un no Yosa (Luck) | Chance to flee, Cond. changes
- Konjou (Guts) | Special abilities
- Choushi (Cond) | Critical hit rate, Counterattack rate, Evade rate
- - Vigor = Agi - armor weight. Vigor determines acting order during battle.
- - The actual Guts value is not visible. Instead, the game shows flames,
- with each flame representing 32 points. Guts is the only stat that
- features some random variation in how it increases on leveling up.
- - The actual Condition value is not visible. Instead, the game shows a
- description (Futsuu / Mazumazu / Eekanji / Baribari) that changes every
- 64 points. Condition increases (or possibly decreases) as you spend time
- on the field.
- - Baribari Condition gives you a base critical hit rate of 37,5%, a
- counterattack rate of 50% and an evade rate of 18,75%.
- - A counterattack will be a critical hit if the character has landed a
- critical hit earlier that round.
- - Counterattacks ignore elemental variables.
- - Defending decreases damage by either 50%, 36%, 25%, or 19% and affects
- both physical and magical damage.
- - When a character dies, they have a small chance of being revived with
- 12,5% HP.
- - Depending on your formation, the game applies additional multipliers
- to damage dealt (Dmg a), damage received (Dmg b) and critical hit rate.
- Dmg a Dmg b Crit

- - A few enemies are highly resistant to magic, but they'll still take
- normal damage from spells that are triggered by using items.
- - The Exp figure you see at the end of battle is the combined total
- amount of Exp all characters gained. Exp is not divided.
- - You can surprise the enemy, but the enemy can't surprise you.
- - There are three different encounter rates: low, medium and high, as
- indicated by the goblin in the menu.
- - The overworld consists of 256 (16x16) map sections. By default, each
- map section on the overworld has a medium encounter rate (K7 being the
- one exception), but it drops to low if Ryuu has reached a certain level.
- - Encounters have a fixed set of enemies, but a random variable often
- removes one enemy or more from the set.
- - Elemental resistance provided by equipment is often quite insignificant.
- - Spells can deal critical hits (1,5x damage).
- - Equipping two items that grant regen will not increase the effect.
- Regeneration will not occur when moving as a frog, rolling, surfing,
- flying or when in Huntsvil.
- - If you want to stack items without messing up your custom item
- arrangement, put them into storage.
- - Common healing items Uncommon healing items
- Yakusou s| 40 HP Roosu s| 100% HP
- Genkidama s| 100 HP Topurifu Ekisu | 100% HP
- Chiryoku no Mi s| +20 AP, -20 HP Rifuraru Ekisu | 120 HP \all

- Dokukeshi s| Heal Poison Tsuki no Shizuku | Rev./Heal 100%\all
- Kiyome no Tsuyu s| Heal Curse Chie no Tama s| 100 AP
- Bemu no Namida s| Heal Rotting/Zombie
- Bannouyaku s| Heal status s: stackable
- - Status ailments:
- Poison | -1 HP per step (nothing in battle).
- Sleep | Unable to act until hit with a physical.
- Rotting | Turn into a Zombie at the end of the next round.
- Zombie | Character attacks own party members.
- Curse | Choushi 0
- - Enemies generally inflict ailments using either a single target or
- a multi-target attack. The single target one also deals damage, while
- the multi-target one does not. Both have what seems like a 50% success
- rate.
- - Many spells produce visual effects that you shouldn't look at.
- - If you want to translate any of the Japanese words, just punch it
- into jisho.org.
- - The game gives you the option of turning the music off (one of the
- very few RPGs on the Snes that lets you do that). While I'm certainly
- very fond of the soundtrack, I do turn the music off at times (such as
- in SimaFort, when cooking and possibly when grinding).

- Tetsu no Kou 120 Z Takezao 300 Z
- - You can rest for free in your apartment on the second floor of the
- building near the front gate (not the inn).
- - You can't explore the northern part of the town at this time.
- - Some buildings are locked at night, and there are also fewer NPCs
- around at night. Aside from that, the day and night cycle only really
- has a cosmetic effect.
- - You can exit the menu instantly by pressing X.
- - Don't forget to save your game at the dragon god statue.
- - Use L and R to switch the lead character on the field.
- - Don't forget to make use of the handy Auto-Battle (Totsugeki) command.
- - Using L and R during battle gives you the Switch and Defend commands.
- - You should buy a Dou no Ken and a Tetsu no Kou (370 Z).
- - I recommend against updating Bow's equipment. He'll soon end up MIA
- and will stay that way for quite a long time.
- - Ryu's special skill, Kiai, allows him to heal some of his HP.
- - Bow's default special skill, Nerau, has him attempting an instant kill.
- (success rate goes down for higher level enemies). His field ability is
- hunting.
- - Press Select on the overworld to view the world map. It employs map
- section based fog.
- - The encounter rate in the HomeTown map section drops from high to low
- once Ryuu hits Lv5. The neighboring map sections (that have the same
- encounters) will still have a medium encounter rate at that point, and
- it doesn't drop until you hit Lv8.
- - After every battle on the overworld, there's a chance that a fishing
- spot or hunting spot will become available. Fishing spots have fixed
- locations, whereas hunting spots appear in a random tile. After getting
- a kill while hunting, pick up the item as quickly as possible or the
- item will degrade in quality or even disappear. When an animal is in
- a bush, it can't see you, but you can't damage it.
- - If you feel that accumulating money from fighting battles is too slow,
- you can sell fish and items obtained through hunting. Hunting in particular
- can be a significant source of income at the earlier stages of the game.
- A full batch of Roosu will net you 1800 Z, although you should probably
- hoard up on it as well, seeing as it fully heals a single character's HP.
- - Don't bother traveling east across the bridge yet. Not only are the
- enemies tough, but there's nowhere to go, as there's a guy blocking
- your way north, and the Exp isn't much better than what you get in the
- mountain.
- Items: Hachigane, Hissatsu no Honoo \\\ Futabi Yama ||
- Lost & Found: Tetsu no Kou (Corpse), Omamori (Chibi Goblin)
- Boss(es): Paaro, Pijo & Putti
- - You can probably survive here at Lv3. Stay by the healing spring and
- level up to at least Lv5. Leveling up on the overworld will get you
- more money, though (assuming you're okay at hunting).
- - You'll stop getting encounters in the outside areas once you've fought
- 15 battles there.
- - You'll fight the boss after passing through the first cave area.
- [Boss]
- - 80 / 40 / 40 HP, 150 Exp, 27 Zenny in total

- - There's no dragon statue here. You'll have to save at the church.
- - Ranger Suit, Seidou no Kabuto = 900 Z.
- - Maniro A can be caught at the fishing spot outside of Coursair, but
- you really shouldn't use a Coin on that. You can't afford the stuff anyway.
- - If you donate to the church 20 times (2000 Z) either here or in Moto
- no Machi, you'll obtain the elusive, yet ultimately useless, key item
- Eva no Sho.
- - Talk to Rand at the pub at night (if it's day, you can talk to the

- - Do *not* travel west or north from the woods!
- - Lv7 is enough to survive here, but you need to stay near or at max HP

- Item (nc): Hikaeshitsu no Kagi (Special, Temp)

- Default (Rand): Hand Knuckle (Unique), Kawa no Yoroi, Wristband, Bandana
- Bosses: Katt, Augus
- - Go deposit all your money at the bank. Heal up and save while you're
- at it.
- - Check back with Rand at the pub. After that, you're free to enter
- the Coliseum.
- - After fighting Jinjibuchou (169 xp) and getting the key, head for the
- dress room, but do NOT open the chest (the one in the right room. The
- left one is a dummy, but feel free to try and get it). Ignore it for
- now and just try to open the door beside it to make Rand appear. Once
- he's taken all your money, it's okay to grab the chest.
- [Boss]
- - 220 HP, 200 Exp, 80 Z
- - After the battle, you're supposed to cover Katt, so she doesn't get
- hit by the needles (simply hold up on the d-pad). If you succeed, she'll
- join you right away. If you screw up, she'll join you after Augus.
- |
- [PC: Katt]
- - Get new gear (690 Z) and 2 levels for Katt. You can also get a Seidou
- no Kabuto for Rand.
- - Katt's default special skill, Sasou, tries to force enemies to attack
- her. I've never gotten any use out of it. On the field, she can hunt and
- smash things with her staff.
- - You're going to need the money, so you should learn how to hunt properly
- with Katt. Don't approach the animals directly and time your attacks well.
- - Katt learns three powerful spells early in the game, but won't have
- enough AP to cast them for a long time (Gureigoru (17) at Lv39, Padoraamu
- (20) at Lv61, Baruharaa (30) at Lv74).
- [PC: Rand]
- |
- [Boss]
- - 680 HP, 150 Exp, 300 Z
- - He gets two turns per round and hits really hard when he uses his
- charge attack. With a little luck and prompt healing, you should be okay.
- |
- [PC: (Katt)]
- - Go pick up a Kawa no Leotard and a Tetsu no Kou for Nina before you
- head back to Niro's place.
- \\\ Haikyo ||
- [PC: - Rand]
- - Rand leaves the party here and will remain MIA for the next two dungeons.
- Item (nc): Yakusou \\\ Moto no Machi ||
- - Go see Nina at the magic school, then head for Mt. Rocko.
- \\\ Rocko Yama ||
- Items: Lucky Bonbon, Gin no Knife, 100 Z, 1000 Z
- Lost & Found: Yakusou / Gin no Knife (Trickster)
- PC: Nina Lv8
- Default (Nina): Ring (Unique), Nuno no Fuku, Wristband, Bandana
- Boss: Joker-sama
- - There's a little puzzle here involving the name of the boss's nephew,
- but you can easily just ignore it. Getting it right allows you to skip
- one of the event battles.
- [PC: Nina]
- |
- [Boss]
- - 580 HP, 300 Exp, 200 Z, W:I, R:F
- - Have Nina switch her equipment from the item menu (ie. during the battle).
- - Nina's default special skill, Kiryoku, allows her to restore some of her AP.
- - Grab a Seidou no Kabuto for Sten on your way to Windia (NW of Coursair).
- Items (nc): Ki no Bou (Artifact), 100 Z \\\ Windia ||
- PC: Sten Lv8
- Default (Sten): Boy Knife, Nuno no Fuku, Wristband, Hachigane
- Shop:
- Long Sword 620 Z Kusarikatabira 720 Z
- Dagger 290 Z Madoushi no Robe 530 Z
- Magician Ring 530 Z Seidou no Tate 510 Z
- Revet Knuckle 460 Z Glass no Domino 380 Z
- [PC: Sten]
- - Dagger, 3 Kusarikatabira, Madoushi no Robe, 2 Seidou no Tate,
- 2 Glass no Domino = 4760 Z
- - Stock up on Antidotes.
- - You can use Sten's field ability to cross small gaps like the one
- found south of Windia.
- - Sten's default special skill, Shinimane, is, er... not worth using.
- \\\ Windia / Capitan Region ||
- Lost & Found: Coin (Killer Goblin), Dou no Ken / Lamellar Armor (Lizardman),
- Omamori (Hitode Kinoko)
- Item (nc): Genkidama \\\ Hunter Goya ||
- Item (nc): Kitsukeyaku \\\ Keha no Mori ||
- Items: Rifuraru Ekisu, Omamori \\\ Capitan ||
- Items (nc): Kawa no Yoroi, Biru Medal (Artifact), Chiryoku no Mi, Konjoudama
- Boss: Goncharov
- - Stay away from the well for now.
- - The Biru Medals will have no use, so you don't really need to pick
- them up. No big deal if you do. They stack, so, at most, they'll take
- 2 slots of your storage.
- - You'll likely have to level up for a while before you can take out the
- next boss. Lv10 is enough, but I would recommend a little higher than that.
- [Boss]
- - 1300 HP, 300 Exp, 500 Z
- - Honoo no Iki: 30 pod to all. Quake: ~20 pod to all.
- - Seishinha will force one of your characters to attack your own party.
- - After the battle, Ray asks you to rescue the villagers in the well.
- There are 6 people in total and four of them have been attacked by
- facehuggers. You don't actually have to rescue any of them. Just talk
- to Ray and tell him you're done.
- - Whatever you do, do *not* save more than 4 villagers.
- - If you use a multitarget spell, the villager will get hit first and
- inevitably die, forcing the battle to end before the Chiroru is even
- hit by the spell. In any case, these battles are always worth 0 xp and
- Zenny.
- - Afterwards, Ray asks you to take him to your hideout (henceforth
- referred to as Kyoudoutai). Better not save your game in case you get
- the wrong spell.
- PC: Rand \\\ Kyoudoutai ||
- Special: Apurifu / Ribaru
- - Ray will offer to teach one of your characters either Apurifu (0-4
- villagers saved) or Ribaru (5 or 6 villagers saved). I'd say it's a
- choice between Sten and Nina, so go with whoever you're planning on
- using more often.
- - Rand can now join the party again.
- - Rand's field ability allows you to move more quickly, although hitting
- something will force you into a random encounter.
- - Rand's special skill, Kitsuke, has a chance of reviving a dead character
- with 1 HP. You can also use it to wake up a sleeping party member.
- - From now on, you can change party members at dragon statues.
- \\\ Capitan ||
- - Talk to the girl in red with Ryu in the lead.
- \\\ Keha no Mori ||
- Special: Fire Puppy, Ice Puppy, Thunder Puppy, Sanamo (Fire Shaman)
- - After the Union experiment, head back to Capitan. Talk to the guy
- next to the inn to get warped back to Kyoudoutai, where Granny asks
- you to go and find a carpenter in Capitan.
- - The three new spells you received are quite powerful, but they will
- always drain all of Ryu's AP when used.
- \\\ Capitan ||
- - The carpenter you want is definitely the guy in the east-most
- building (the regular-looking house). Do *NOT* choose any other
- carpenter!
- - Choosing the guy who makes normal houses allows you to create
- stat-boost items by cooking.
- - Afterwards, you can finally catch a boat to access the western
- continent.
- Party Level: ~15
- \\\ Swimmer Region ||
- Lost & Found: Ishiyoroi / Daichi no Yoroi (Ganmen Iwa \ 1),
- Namazu no Ikari (Hadashi Namazu)
- - You can rest for free at the camp site near the lake.
- - Watch out for those Ganmen Iwas. Itetsuku Iki tends to hurt (~50 pod
- to all).
- - From now on, you're more likely to run into Beaks and Grizzlies while
- hunting. Coming into contact with them will initiate a battle (and thus
- end the hunting session). Beaks will actively pursue you, take 6 hits
- to kill, leave no items, and to top it all off, they respawn after 10
- seconds. They're not common yet at this point in the game, but eventually
- they will be. If you hit them at the bottom of the screen, you can
- basically take them out with a single hit (they'll move off-screen and,
- thus, despawn, but they'll still respawn).
- Maniro B: \\\ Fishing Spot ||
- Buster Sword 2200 Z
- Kenja no Robe 3000 Z
- Kokuyou no Kabuto 1800 Z
- - This one shows up very close to the Yamaneko Restaurant. You need to
- stay within three vertical tiles from the restaurant. Otherwise, you're
- in the wrong map section.
- - You'll find Maniros in certain fishing spots. When you catch one, you
- can access their shop. The only bait that works is the Coin. It takes
- 15 seconds for Maniro to show up. Keep your lure close and you should
- be able to catch them with little effort.
- - You can get a free Kenja no Robe at Majo no Tou, so don't buy one.
- - You'll find a Circlet in the cave behind the waterfall (available
- after Majo no Tou). It's one point higher than the Kokuyou no Kabuto,
- and everyone can equip it (except for Rand, of course).
- - Buster Sword, 2 Kokuyou no Kabuto = 5800 Z.
- - There's a hidden tech you can get at the WildCat Restaurant, but it's
- a lot easier once you have Jean. Keep in mind, you won't be able to get
- it anymore once you've been to SimaFort.
- \\\ Majo no Tou ||
- Items: Bannouyaku, 5× 100 Z, 3× 1 Z, 1000 Z, Yakusou, Silk no Tebukuro,
- Sorceror Ring, Kenja no Robe, Chie no Wa, Chie no Tama
- Lost & Found: Tokkouyaku / Fire Ring (Fachan),
- Seidou no Kabuto / Tetsu no Tate (Orc), Sorceror Ring / Fire Ring (Nymph)
- Special: Seso (Water Shaman)
- Boss: Majo Nymph
- - You can force yourself a random encounter by stepping on the platform
- with a character other than Ryu. Stepping on the switch thingie with
- Ryu will also trigger encounters, and once you do it a bunch of times
- in a row, the gate will open, and the switch won't do anything anymore.
- If you leave the tower, the gate will reset, forcing you to repeat the
- process.
- - You can ignore the chest (it's empty) and the NPC in the first room.
- - If you go east in the area with the last two chests, you'll jump out
- of the tower.
- [Boss]
- - 550 HP, 400 Exp, 400 Z
- - You can now get the Water Shaman, Seso, on the fourth floor (ride
- the right-most platform in the Amidakuji room). If you're planning on
- using Jean, you should go get him first, so he can start gaining
- experience as soon as possible.
- - If you're not feeling too obsessive, you should keep your fusion list
- short by only doing the fusions that are the most useful.
- PC: Jean (Tapeta) Lv10 \\\ Sharon no Mori ||
- Default (Jean): Short Rapier (Unique), Kawa no Yoroi, Seidou no Tate,
- Hachigane
- - As you exit the woods, you'll be notified that TownShip has reached
- phase 2. This means you can start inviting people to come live in your
- village. Before you do that, though, you should go pick up the Chie no
- Tama from house #2. Once (or if) you sign up Remington, you can no longer
- reach the cupboard in question.
- - This is where I (somewhat briefly) get to use my usual party:
- Ryu, Katt, Jean, Sten.
- - Jean's field ability allows you move in inland waters and hop over
- small obstacles. At Level 14, he'll also learn the spell Hyuuru, which
- *may* come in handy.
- - Jean's default special skill, Tsukitsuki, is an attack that targets
- all enemies (low damage).
- - STAY AWAY FROM SIMAFORT! You'll lose Jean very quickly upon entering
- the place, and we don't want that.
- Items: Circlet, Kamikazedama \\\ Taki no Heya ||
- Special: Fire Dragon, Ice Dragon, Thunder Dragon
- - Swim down the waterfall to get here.
- - The level 2 Dragon spells are all non-elemental and will deal 512 pod
- to all enemies so long as Ryu has max AP (or close). (*Technically*,
- the Dragon spells have the indicated elements, but at the same time,
- the damage is simply unaffected by elemental resistance.)
- Special: Sengiri / HP +16 (party) \\\ Yamaneko Tei ||
- Boss: Yamaneko
- - We're now going to pick up a hidden technique called Sengiri from
- one of the friendly chefs at the Yamaneko Restaurant. The process is
- a little tricky, though, as you'll have to fight a difficult boss with
- a number of penalties (such as no items), and even if you survive, you
- might end up getting the HP boost instead. The HP boost is certainly
- worth considering as well, though (unless you're planning on using a
- party with Bow, Spar and Bleu). Using something like the Fire Ring as
- an item gives you essentially the same effect as Sengiri, and anyone can
- use it. The only cost is that it'll take up one slot in your inventory.
- - First off, you'll have to leave your items, no exceptions. Then, you'll
- be asked to take off your equipment (numbers 2 - 4) and replace them
- with items that have virtually no power whatsoever. This really isn't
- going to help you take out the boss, so this is where we're going to
- refuse to follow the instructions and fight our way through the Guardman
- (I'm sure you can handle him). HOWEVER, you can only afford to do this
- twice, otherwise you'll get the HP boost. I suggest you skip numbers
- 3 and 4 (you don't even have to read the sign, you can just ignore it),
- so you'll only lose your accessories and headwear. If you want the HP
- boost instead, ignore the signs from 2-5.
- - The salt and pepper thing doesn't do anything.
- - Number 6 defines how much HP you'll lose before the boss. Go with Rare,
- and you'll only lose 25%. If you ignore the sign, you'll start the boss
- with only 1 HP.
- 1. Items (forced, includes accessories)
- 2. Hats
- 3. Jackets [armor] (napkins)

- I always get at least one Ai no Udewa at some point. Also, the Daichi
- no Yoroi is a good one for Sten. The Shikomidosu is a nice weapon for
- Katt, but it's easier to get in the Fog Valley.
- - I get one drop from the Cancers before HighFort. If it's an Ai no
- Udewa, then I'm done here. If it's a Daichi no Yoroi, I'll come back
- after HighFort. Then, if I don't get the bracelet within a few drops,
- I'll just come back with Surikae.
- \\\ Nusubito no Haka ||
- Lost & Found: Elmore no Ken / Demonic Knife (Undead Thief \ 1),
- Seirei no Tate (Anubis Mummy \ 1)
- - You'll find it easier to survive here than out in the desert, as
- the enemies are mostly undead, so you can easily do double damage
- with every character (the enemies also have less HP and DFP). You can
- survive even a little below Lv30, but I'd recommend closer to Lv35.
- You should also get Spar first, so Ryuu can have the Life Armor. It
- helps a lot. You'll still likely get some game overs, but it's not a
- big deal.
- - You're likely looking at enemies doing 50 pod per hit, double with
- criticals (less for Ryuu). You'll mostly be fighting Undead Thieves
- and Anubis Mummies. The former have a high critical hit rate, and the
- latter can cast Reigiru (100 pod).
- - Although you can't actually explore the dungeon yet, there's a very
- good reason we're here, and that is the Demonic Knife, Sten's ultimate
- weapon. So, if you're using Sten, you might as well get it now. You
- won't even need Sweh, as "Sheefs" are quite common.
- - The Elmore no Ken (usable by Ryu and Jean) is the strongest Holy-
- elemental weapon you can find at this point in the game.
- - And let's not forget the Seirei no Tate, the fourth strongest shield in
- the game, which can be used by everyone except Rand. It's the strongest
- shield for Nina, Bleu and Spar. You can buy these later in the game,
- but I suggest you get at least one of them now (for Katt).
- \\\ Giant's Island ||
- Lost & Found: Topurifu Ekisu / Rifuraru Ekisu (Atomic Gummy, Gangan Head),
- Omamori / Hikari no Udewa (Choorukin \ 3),
- Holy Plate / Bushin no Kote (Gummy Ou \ 3)
- - Better deposit all your money into the bank before coming here. If
- you have too much trouble with the enemies, just come back a little
- later. Lv40 should be good.
- - Rounding up the world tour is the infamous Giant's Island (or whatever
- you want to call it), found by sailing south from Guntz. Let's have a
- look at the four enemies you can find here, and how to deal with them:
- 1. Choorukin | 25 HP
- - Use Sengiri. If you don't have that, use a Fire Ring (you know,
- as an item). Bring some antidotes to counter Poison Breath.
- - Your second source for Hikari no Udewas.
- 2. Ganganhead | 1000 HP
- - Likes to use Topurifu but only has enough AP to cast it twice.
- 3. Atomic Gummy | 900 HP
- - These guys have absolutely no resistance to Waasu (the other ones
- are immune)(might still fail at lower levels), so cast that if you
- can. When needed, you can also use the Mashou no Tate to drain their
- AP. They're really not that hard to beat up either, and I always go
- with melee whenever Jean's refilling his AP.
- 4. Gummy Ou | 1000 HP
- - The encounter has three of them by default, The encounter chance is
- probably 1/32.
- - They only have two moves: their normal attack and Waasu, which has
- a 100% hit rate (unless you're wearing a certain elusive accessory).
- The odds of Waasu being cast is low at first, but increase as their
- HP goes down. Get them below 500 HP with other attacks before you hit
- them with a Dragon spell.
- - The Holy Plate is pretty much the best body armor in the game. Aside
- from boasting very high DFP, it also gives you a 25% chance of nullifying
- magical damage (the Gin no Tiara and Yomi no Udewa have the same
- ability). It can be equipped by Ryu, Jean, Sten and Bow.
- - Using Surikae, you can typically get a Gummy Ou encounter in about
- 5 minutes.
- - None of the enemies here have elemental affinities, so that's one
- thing you don't have to worry about.
- - Sell, drop, or use the Topurifu Ekisus, but whatever you do, don't
- start hoarding up on them, as Roosu is so much more space-efficient.
- - Hoarding up on some Rifuraru Ekisus, on the other hand, is a pretty
- good idea, especially if you don't have Bow or Rand in your standard
- party. In any case, don't let them fill up your inventory. If your
- inventory is full, enemies won't drop anything.
- - This is the place where you'll want to build up to Lv99 (assuming
- you're a bad enough dude to do so). You can get one level in about 20
- minutes. You should of course do it after getting all the rare drops
- you want. The Holy Plate is indeed one of them, but I wouldn't bother
- trying to get those without Surikae.
- Fish: Ai no Udewa \\\ Fishing Spot ||
- - This one's on Giant's Island.
- - Ai no Udewa gives you regen, which can keep you healed up quite well.
- Until you get more of them, you can just pass along this one as needed.
- - As soon as you have the money, you should start cooking stat-boost
- items. If you're already at Lv50, you can go ahead and max out anything
- you want. If not, you should take the upcoming stat gains at least up
- until Lv50 into consideration (your stat gains are very minimal after
- Lv50). Hopefully, you've already decided on your final party.
- - No need to max everything out. Here's what I recommend:
- × Str: Max (255).
- × Stm: At least 200.
- × Agi: 250. Agility maxes out at 511, but few enemies have more than 200.
- × Wisdom: 207.
- × Luck: Pass.
- × Guts: Pass.
- - Maxing your Agility not only has few benefits, but it also makes it
- a little harder to run away from enemies (except the super fast ones).
- This is likely due to a programming error.
- - In any case, start by depositing all your items, then fill your
- inventory with the stuff you can buy at Guntz depending on which stat
- boost items you want to create. See the recipes below.
- × Stamina's a little tricky, as the recipe involves Bera, so if you
- didn't sign up Daiye, you're out of luck (and I *did* tell you to pick
- him up). Plus, you have to manage the quantities so as to ensure a
- smooth cooking process. I myself went with 39 F.Spice + 78 Beras
- (8 × 9 + 6).
- - By no means do you need to get all of this done right now. If you can
- at least take care of your Strength (you'll need about 100k or so),
- that's good enough for now.
- Strength | Power Food | 3× Kakigoori (300 Z)
- Stamina | Stamina no Moto| Fire Spice + 2× Bera (700 Z)
- Agility | Hayameshi | 2× Kaminariokoshi (200 Z)
- Luck | Lucky Bonbon | mix (eg. Fire Spice + Kakigoori) (200 Z)
- Wisdom | Misonikomi | 2× Fire Spice (200 Z)
- Guts | Konjoudama | 2× Kakigoori (200 Z)

- there's two of them, you might want to try and run away. You certainly
- want to run away from the Chimera. So, yeah, you need to get fairly
- lucky, but the armor is well worth it.
- - Also, if you haven't fished a treasure chest before, go practice with
- the one near TownShip. Any input when Ryu is pulling the chest up will
- be ignored, so you need to get a hang of the rhythm. If you fail too
- many times, the chest will end up too close to you, and you can't really
- hook it anymore.
- - Yet another high profile rare drop: the Mammo no Kegawa, Rand's best
- armor. If you're using Rand, you definitely want to get it. It can wait
- until you get Surikae, though.
- Fish: Inochi no Yoroi (Unique) \\\ Fishing Spot ||

- outskirts of the desert southeast from TownShip.
- - You will no longer have access to this area once you complete the
- events here.
- - Sten is mandatory here plus he has to go solo for a while, so if
- you haven't been using him at all, you might want to warm him up first.
- - Also keep in mind, you won't be able to change any of your party
- members, and you'll be stuck in the castle until you finish all the events.
- - Make your way to the throne room, and you'll soon find yourself in
- control of Sten, while the rest of your party is unavailable.
- - The first three items are downstairs from where Sten begins. You can't
- get those later (not that they're anything important).
- - Although you can't leave the castle, you'll have access to basic
- town services for a while. Make sure you're thoroughly prepared before
- you challenge Turuboo (Holy weapons, enough free space for treasure).

- - Simply defend during the first phase (or heal if needed), as you
- can't win. It ends after 3 rounds.
- - In the second phase (when the bridge is falling), you have 4 rounds
- to kill him.
- - You'll find a healing spring (first of two) and a save point at the
- bottom of the eastern tower, but you can't get back to the item shop
- or storage since the bridge is out.
- - The next six items are found in Sten's solo section. After passing
- behind the throne room, there are three paths. The left and right ones
- have treasure. Next, there are two paths. The left one has treasure.
- - After being reunited with your three other characters, you can finally
- start encountering Soulflickers (common in the areas after the Mahou
- no Tobira). These guys drop the elusive Yomi no Udewa, which gives you
- magic evade. There's one of these in the final dungeon, but aside from
- that, this is your only chance to actually get more of them. I get one
- myself (for Katt). Rand is the only character who can only get magic
- evade off a Yomi no Udewa. If you want him to get magic evade before
- the final dungeon, your only choice is to score one here. Then again,
- with his HP, he doesn't really need it as much as, say, Katt or Nina.
- - The Dokuro no Udewa makes the wearer slightly more susceptible to Waasu.
- - Eventually, you'll find a room with three teleporters
- × The left one will take you back to the second healing spring (near
- the MoonMask).
- × The right one is the emergency exit. Although you still can't leave
- the castle, you can use it to return to the save point or revisit Sten's
- solo section in case you missed any items. When you want back, go
- examine the switch in the throne room.
- × Both the left and right teleporters are one-way only.
- × The middle one will take you to the Mahou no Tobira.

- - A: Reigiru (~100 pod) (10 AP)
- - B: Padaama (~50 pod \ all) (12 AP)
- - C: Rifuraru (heal 120 HP \ all) (20 AP)
- - If low on AP, the eyes will drain AP from Ganer. This is considered
- Ganer's action, so the eye still gets to act that round.
- - The eyes may rarely defend.
- - The machine has an increasing probability to force Ganer to cast a
- spell on you. This can only happen when all four targets are alive.
- Whenever Ganer casts a spell, the eyes don't get to act. He can cast
- Gureigoru (~100), Padoraamu (~120) and Baruharaa (~180).
- - It's easy to hit Ganer unintentionally due to automatic target switching.
- If you accidentally kill him, there's no need to reset. Just get a game
- over instead (you can just attack your own characters if the eyes aren't
- doing it). You should kill one or two of the eyes before that, as this
- allows you to see their health bars the next time you fight them. A and

- Dokyuu 23 000 Z Hahanaru Koromo 28 000 Z
- Kaiser Knuckle 25 000 Z Seirei no Tate 18 000 Z
- Amber Ring 11 000 Z Kagayaki no Kabuto 16 000 Z
- - Baretta's last set of wares is quite impressive. The Kagayaki no
- Kabuto is the strongest headwear for Jean, Sten and Bow, the Kaiser
- Knuckle is Rand's ultimate weapon, and the Dokyuu is Bow's ultimate
- weapon (kind of).
- × I bought only one ShinyHT, and that was for Bow. Sten would get a
- free one soon, and Ryu and Jean would receive updates not long after
- that as well.
- × The Armor Pain is Ryu's strongest non-elemental weapon, but there's
- really no need for it. Only Spirits resist Thunder, and you should
- use a Holy-elemental weapon for those.
- × The Haou no Yoroi is the strongest armor you can buy (usable by Ryu,
- Jean and Sten). If you've failed to procure any Holy Plates, you may
- want to grab one of those.
- - Kagayaki no Kabuto, Kaiser Knuckle, Dokyuu = 64 000 Z.
- - If you saved Ganer and told Eichichi about the machine under your
- town, head into the well and your town will be able to fly. It's quite
- slow, though, and it's too big to land on the area where the Koutei no
- Ken is, but it's still something (especially since you're about to lose
- the ability to call Mina).
- Shaman: (Seini) (Holy) \\\ Bandou Kyoukai ||
- - Revisit Bando for Seini (if you missed her the first time around).
- Shaman: Solo (Earth) \\\ Fama Mura ||
- - Pick up Solo at Daisy's backyard. Solo is the best shaman for Rand
- and Spar. The Sproutling form's Hana allows Spar to deal great damage
- (albeit uncontrollably and with a slight delay).
- - WARNING: You will lose the ability to fly on the Great Bird once you
- trigger the next event at Gate! If you saved Ganer and got TownShip
- to fly, this isn't that big of a deal (assuming you got the Koutei no
- Ken). However, if you killed him, make *absolutely* sure you have
- nothing left to do in the areas that require the ability to fly. Here's
- a recap just in case:
- × Evrai island (Takumi no Sao)
- × Fishing spot east of TownShip (Koutei no Ken)
- × Island armory / Ragnarider Island
- × Maniro H

- Lost & Found: Gin no Tiara / Chishiki no Gown (Habalq \ 5)
- Boss: Habalq
- - When you're ready, go talk to Father Hulk at the dragon.
- - Explore the little areas of the final dungeon available to you now
- to find the last remaining shaman, Shin.
- - At this point, you're supposed to go chasing after Patty (CotLnd,
- WildCat, ThvsTomd, TownShip), but it's not strictly necessary to talk
- to all the NPCs who give you clues on her whereabouts. Simply talking
- to the first one at Kotto no Toride is enough. After that, you'll find
- her on the second floor at Niro's place.
- - After locating Patty, return to Hulk, but make sure you save your
- game first. (Well, actually, the game lets you walk away and leave
- right before you fight Babaruku.)
- [Boss]
- - 2500 HP, 3800 Exp, 5000 Z
- - He can cast the most powerful spells, including Baruharaa, but he
- tends to go for something harmless like Marekuta. Better bring some
- Rifuraru Extracts just in case, though.
- - I recommend you get your second Gin no Tiara here, as Habalq has a
- decent enough chance of dropping one.
- - After the battle, you're looking at a fairly important dialog option.
- If you choose the first one, you'll get the bad ending. Might as well
- check it out. However, in order to receive closure...

- - You probably can't get all the items in a single trip. I need 2 myself.
- - All the items up to the Final Blow are found in "upper" Infinity.
- - You'll have plenty of use for your Holy weapons, especially in upper
- Infinity.
- - About halfway through, you'll reach Doraguniiru. This is where you'll
- find the first save point (there are two more in lower Infinity). You
- can also rest and shop, but you don't have access to your storage.
- - Before you go learn Anfini in the shrine below Doraguniiru, I suggest
- you pick up a Nyan Nyan Bou. I do it in the area where you find the
- Abarenbou.
- - When you get Anfini, your soul unions will be undone.
- - If you use Derudan in lower Infinity, you'll be taken to the save point
- in Doraguniiru.
- - There are two paths you can take in the final area. You should take
- the southern ladder first and get the two items on that path (Dragon
- Helm and Seirei no Tate), then return to B1 and take the northern path.
- - If you still want Gin no Tiaras, you can encounter Magic Masters in
- pairs in most areas in lower Infinity. The B2 level is ideal.
- - Once you reach an area that's completely dark, you're about to encounter
- Barbario. Do not proceed without a good supply (~10) of Rifuraru Ekisu
- (if you're not using Bow or Rand).

- [Boss]
- - 5000 HP, 4000 Exp, 5000 Z
- - At first you'll fight him with your full party. However, the battle
- ends after inflicting some damage. You then have the choice of fighting
- him with Ryu alone (not recommended).
- - Baruharaa: ~130-180. Honoo no Iki / Itetsuku Iki: ~100.
- - Even his normal attack hits all your characters, so expect heavy
- damage every turn.
- - In the next area, you'll find the final save point. The final boss
- is just around the corner (straight north after using the teleporter).
- - The little rooms you can reach from the area with the Haja no Kanmuri
- are the only places in the game where you can encounter Pendragon and
- Zodiac (not in the same rooms, though). They have a low encounter rate
- and the items have low drop rates. I suggest you forget about them.
- - Return to the area where you fought Barbario with Katt and Sten in
- their basic forms. Look for a rock you can smash on the right side.
- After taking care of that, you'll have to cross a gap with Sten in
- order to reach the Inochi no Udewa.
- [Boss]
- - 10 000 HP
- - You'll have to use Anfini in order to end the first phase.
- - Itetsuku Iki: ~100 pod \all
- - One of his attacks drains 60 HP and 25% of cAP from all your characters.
- - Bone Laser: ~110 pod \all
- - Again, bring a good amount of Rifuraru Ekisu for healing.
- End of file.
