There have been some pro player complaints about using horizontal and vertical mineral lines in main bases, stating that they provide slightly lower income to the point where defending reaper play or 12 pools is challenging or difficult. Swapping to a diagonal pattern likely won't impact the layout any.
I don't expect the bottom bases to be taken in most games.
This map is pretty well executed, but I don't think the mineral walls will play much of a role in 95% of the games played.
