  5. Timing Windows |
  6. ------------------------------------------------------------------------'
  7.
  8. The way timing works is that you must hit an arrow within a certain amount of time of when you were SUPPOSED to hit it; the timing window extends in both directions from the precise moment you're supposed to hit the arrow. So the timing windows determine just how accurate you are expected to be.
  9. Items that are on the same row belong to the same judgment level.
  10.
  11. -How Does PrismRhythm Compare?-
  12. PrismRhythm's numbers are not meant to be frame-based (as DDR's were back in the day), but rather to be within nice, round numbers. The point was to be *close* to DDR/ITG numbers, but not make things TOO loose, otherwise it'd be overly-unfair. Keep in mind that if you're using PrismRhythm Belltina, then Awful doesn't exist, because you have Magnificent instead, so anything worse than a Shaky automatically counts as a Miss.

  38. Dance Points Awarded for Judgments |
  39. ------------------------------------------------------------------------'
  40.
  41. This is how the game decides HOW to put your score together; all judgments you get have a Dance Point (DP) score associated with them, which are used to calculate your percentage score.
  42. All items that are on the same row belong to the same judgment level.
  43.
  44. -How Does PrismRhythm Compare?-
  45. The main premises of the PrismRhythm scoring system are "balance" and "presentation." It is more fair than ITG, which penalizes you VERY harshly if you play badly, thus rewarding you for at least TRYING to keep playing (by punishing you less). It uses a totally balanced 5-4-2/2-4-5 for good/bad judgments, which ends up agreeing with ITG scores if the player does well, but is kinder on bad judgments. However, if the player starts dropping tails (holds/rolls), that's where "presentation" comes in - darkened tails don't look good, so PR counts them against you where no other system does.

  67. How Grading Systems Compare |
  68. ------------------------------------------------------------------------'
  69.
  70. Then the game takes your score and decides which letter grade it gets.
  71. Wherever you see an entry, that's the lowest score you have to attain to get that grade.
  72. On the last line of a grading system, (Less) means "score this much or less and you get this grade."
  73. All systems will award an F for failing the song except for DDR, which gives an E for failing.
  74. Arranged in order from strictest to least strict.
