Drewan GiltTongue was born into a small tribe know as Carr'yana. He was abandoned by his parents who left the tribe shortly after his birth for unknown reasons and left in the care of the tribe's elders. Drewan never got along well with the rest of the children and was mostly an outsider to them for being parentless. During his upbringing he became close to a elven bard named Cathran who frequently visited the tribe and preformed.

He began to train with Cathran learning to play the lute, but as he trained with Cathran he caught her using her performaces to steal items from onlookers and homes she played for. Cathran being his only true friend Drewan began to start helping Cathran steal learning thieving skills. In the hopes of pleasing Cathran Drewan at the age of 16 attempted to steal his tribe's holy gem for her, but was caught by an elder and was shunned and rejected by the tribe.

Drewan after being expelled from the tribe began to travel with Cathran and she began to mentor him. After a few years of traveling and training during a performance Cathran was caught stealing an item from a high noble. Drewan escaped but Cathran was taken. Drewan attempted to find information on what happened to her but could not find anything about what happened to her.

As he did not have any better way of making a living Drewan continued wandering, playing for nobles and stealing small treasures from them. A month ago, during a casing of a high noble home in the small town of Sandpoint, he spotted a very familiar gem. This was the same holy gem that he was expelled from his tribe for attempting to take. Unsure how the noble could get ahold of the holy gem and blinded by emotion he attempted to steal the gem but was caught by the noble's guard.

Drewan was thrown into a dark windowless cell… that was 25 days ago. Today the jail door opened with a blinding light, he was dragged out and thrown in front of the warden and offered a choice: die in a cell, or gain his freedom and travel with a small caravan to a distant land. Drewan agreed to follow the caravan knowing that a quick journey is better than running from the law for the rest of his life or dying in a cell.

He was put into the care of the caravan and the fellow bard Ameiko Kaijitsu agreed to watch Drewan as they make the journey.

Because of his past Drewan has slightly kleptomaniac traits, sometimes taking small useless items. Though he has some self-control, he finds it hard to stop himself from stealing very valuable items.
