  14. It's about damn time we get ourselves a proper name! Although academics such as the Director or myself would prefer to call the creature by his native name, 'Gojira', it appears as though the bastardization of the name, 'Godzilla', has gained a greater notoriety among my peers. So be it, then. I guess a mistranslation being more popular isn't anything new. Anyways, onward to the subject: examining the place of the creature in Jira culture.
  15.
  16. The locals of the Jiran Islands revere it as a god of sorts (no surprise there), but also a king. It's said in their scripture that every ruler they've had is a descendant of him. Probably just to dress up their kings as 'divine' in some way, but entertaining, nonetheless. What really interests me is that, being a seafaring creature of gigantic proportions, you'd think he'd never take notice of the locals and just stay in the depths. But for some reason, there was once a period of time where he would surface annually, washing ashore bounties of sea life for the natives, feeding them for months on end. Very interesting, indeed! Whether or not he does this with the intention that the Jira People had in mind, I'm not sure.
  17.
  18. However, he isn't always so benevolent. A god of destruction doesn't get that title for nothing, and he definitely fits the bill. I've read about a few accounts where Gojira would surface, apparently in a great rage, and cause wanton destruction. The natives say that this is because he is angry at them, and they promptly try to fix things up so that he will be satiated and return to his slumber. Nature has an order, a power to restore balance. I guess he is that power, for them.

  29. Most of my peers, and even close colleagues, have stated that they think of Gojira as their favourite of the Jiran creatures. Not me. Mothra (and thank god for the proper translation catching on!) represents everything I find respectable in a person. Or a monster, in this case. She's the goddess of peace, the wisest creature on Earth, and is always aiming to balance out the people and the planet to achieve harmony.
  30.
  31. Unlike her compatriot, she takes a very active role in the lives of Human beings, even back in the ancient past. Seems as though she's just as intelligent, if not more so, than us as a species. There doesn't seem to be a set period of the year where she appears. From what I've gathered, she's almost always seen year-round by the locals, and every time she shows up, happiness spreads like disease, and the land prospers. Must be the special properties of the powder that comes off of her wings.
  32.
  33. I love this creature, and it appears most people do too. However, it's not like she has never had to throw down, as the kids say. Do they say that? I don't know. Anyways, back to Mothra. Despite being a trusted ally of Gojira, she's had to step in at times to calm his nerves during his periods of rage. Apparently, according to the ancient scriptures, Mothra is the only one strong and wise enough to stop Gojira from destroying the Jiran Islands during these fits of rage. I must say, she's just a delight!

  44. I absolutely LOATHE this thing! He not only came from the moon to ravage the Earth for resources, but also apparently because he enjoyed the suffering of life on Earth! This thing is pure evil, and the ancient texts don't try and justify it whatsoever. I can see why Gojira might surface on occasion to cause destruction if he feels the planet is being threatened, but King Ghidorah was doing it for shits and giggles!
  45.
  46. Anyways....... rage aside, the creature is a very curious case. I've seen some odd life in the past, but never one that had multiple heads with individual brains that could actually function and coordinate without trouble. I've no idea how that works, since each brain can freely think on its own, and each one exerts equal control over the main body. The natives were quite accurate in calling it a 'demon from beyond'.
  47.
  48. There isn't too much information on it, since he only showed up once, and was repelled by Gojira. However, after Mothra showed my colleagues and I those visions of the past, I can't help but wonder if it was really as simple as just killing him. Now, I respect the Atlanteans' guardian, Gamera, and Gojira as well, but despite them basically blowing him up into nothing, I can't shake the feeling that King Ghidorah isn't out of the game just yet. It's just a feeling, and I may be just being paranoid. Maybe.

  59. Death this, death that, it's all just death with this one. Granted, we haven't actually seen any evidence for a physical manifestation of this one. We do have a name, and also a prophecy. According to the ancient texts, Bagan is said to one day rise from a lower being, born out of the sting of defeat, as well as the energy of the spawn of the god of destruction.
  60.
  61. I'm guessing that that means a P.E.M.F. is supposed to go through a metamorphosis by feeding off of the energy emitted from an infant of Gojira's species. However, I seriously doubt that any infants of his kind are around. If there were, they'd more than likely either be already dead, or adults. I can't think of any other reason for there to be juveniles around. Although..... this prophecy does concern me. At least it's the only one without any documented evidence for a physical manifestation.

  72. Okay, so I originally thought that Bagan would be the end of the ludicrousness of these legends. Turns out I was wrong. Death incarnate isn't enough, apparently. The Destroyer is said to rise from the remains of the God of Death (sounds too familiar), his reincarnated form. As well, it seems his rebirth will be triggered when Humanity creates a weapon that suffocates the souls of all living things.
  73.
  74. I'm positive this one is just full of it.
