Man with No Name- Tying Pinky to the Tree

A hundred feet above the river, in a thicket of wild cotton trees, the Man With No Name slept his normal sleep. Pinky Roebeck lay near him, curled around a tree trunk. Pinky’s hands were tied. The rope had been passed around the trunk, then snubbed around his ankles. If the albino chose to move, his body would be pulled in against the barbarous thorns, hard and sharp as daggers.

The end of the rope was tied to the hunter’s wrist. Any slight jerk on it would wake him instantly.

But the bounty hunter would not relent and Pinky went to sleep, grumbling bitterly. The night was black when Sanchez’s victory shouts woke him. He twitched, stabbing himself, and swore aloud.
