	Battle Factory (Gen 4) FAQ:

Basic Definition: The Battle Factory is the rental facility. You get given the choice of 6 Rental Pokemon, and choose 3 of them. You then proceed to fight trainers in 3v3 battles. At the end of each battle, you have the option of swapping one of your Pokemon for one of the 3 you just defeated. After 7 wins, you complete the set.

Difficulty: 2nd of 5 (Hard)

In Gen 4, the Battle Factory is the only facility where you can choose between battling at Level 50, or at Level 100. If you choose Level 100, you and your opponents Pokemon start at Group 4 instead of Group 1, meaning you get access to better Pokemon earlier.
However, I choose the Level 50 division for the simple reason that because they are lower level, they have less HP, so the HP bar drains quicker.

Manipulation: The Pokemon offered and the Pokemon fought are determined based on calls from the Primary RNG. This means by controlling that value, I can directly influence which Pokemon I get.
Further manipulation is done within each set due to the Species and Item clause. These prevent 2 Pokemon that are the same, or that have the same held item from appearing on the same team. Because you can choose to swap in the Battle Factory, this means they also had to make sure the same Pokemon or held item doesn't appear on the opponents team either. Because of this, I will sometimes cleverly choose or switch my Pokemon purely to make sure a Pokemon with the same held item won't appear in future fights, to alter the teams I would otherwise fight.
