In which Yurio acts like your average edgy teenage weeaboo, Victor is clueless, and Yuuri knows a little more than he lets on


The worst part of Yuri’s split second decision to fly to Japan wasn’t being berated over the phone by Yakov, and it wasn’t missing his cat. It wasn’t even having to watch Victor fawn over that disgusting little piggy.

No, it was definitely the jet lag.

Japan was six hours ahead of St. Petersburg, and the rigorous training for the Hotsprings on Ice event already had Yuri exhausted by mid day. By the time it was eight o’clock, he was ready collapse in bed and sleep for an eternity. Unfortunately though, his day didn’t end there. He had other, extremely important obligations to attend to.

Once piggy and Victor had gone to bed (Around ten o’clock, usually), and Yuri was sure he wouldn’t be disturbed, he pulled out his laptop and opened it. After a quick glance around to make sure no one (Victor) had heard him stirring and wouldn’t barge in, he would log into the laptop with his uncrackable password (yuriplisetskyrulez13).

Yuri would then gaze fondly of his background image that he’d downloaded from deviantart, before habitually beginning his virtual to do list. He’d read some manga, and look through the Hot Topic catalogue (He’d been making his way through the website ever since he’d discovered that Japan had a different selection). Then, the perfunctory viewing of AMVs of his favorite manga (Bleach), and then-

His most important task.

It was time to update his fanfiction.

Blades of Darkness and Ice was his ongoing masterpiece of a Bleach fanfiction, currently sitting pretty at a 20k word count. The epic story was a tale of the Forgotten Espada, also named Yuri (A coincidence), older brother of his favorite super cool villain. He’d even gone so far as to include links to a few illustrations that he’d artfully drawn, even if it was on notebook paper. He’d been stuck for the last few days trying to figure out what to write in the most recent chapter, but the answer had come to him mid triple-axel during the day.

Yuri pulled up his word document for the chapter, idly flipping his hair out of his face, and begun to write.

Once the latest installment of his magnum opus had been posted on fanfiction.net, Yuri sighed with relief. He’d been nervous that his readers had been getting impatient with him, since the last chapter he’d posted had been before he even came to Japan and-

He couldn’t see.

Yuri huffed, flipping the offending bangs out of his vision. The motion had been so constant recently that he was starting to get an ache in his neck. He’d never complain though- Yakov had already yelled at him for cutting it in the first place. There was no way he’d let him or anyone else know that it had been any modicum of a mistake.

Anyways.

Now that the chapter had been posted, he could read the new comments on his old chapters. He’d only seen the usernames in his email, but he was positive they contained glowing praise.

Yuri scrunched his face in disgust.  People thought his Original Character (Who was not a mary-sue, thank you very much) was hot? Gross. Yuri (Again, no relation to him, despite also being blonde and blue eyed) was just, really awesome. That’s all.
Well, maybe he’d gone a little overboard on the appearance descriptions, but that was just because his outfit was too good not to describe. It wasn’t his fault if people were being disgusting all over his writing.

Maybe he’d just leave that comment by itself. The first comment though....

There was no way someone left a bad review on his story WITHOUT getting a very carefully worded, diplomatic response from him.

	cool a$$ weapons. Also theyre knife shoes, not ice skates, so he can kick his

He’d give his positive reviews responses too, in a minute, but he needed to find something better to listen to. The playlist of various anime AMVs to different linkin park songs had only just begun to get on his nerves despite the several song repeats. There was a suggested compilation of Evanescence anime videos that was looking promising though-

Yuri held his breath and stayed completely silent as he heard Victor get up and walk to the bathroom down the hall. There was no way he’d heard Yuri’s typing through the wall, right?
