Shiori is quiet for a time, perhaps considering. Finally she says, "I just realized that our good Prince and Seneschal snowed me good. Used me to get what they wanted, and when I wasn't helpful any longer, promptly dismissed me from their concern." She turns the rose, voice growing a little more distant, "Do you realize that it had been quite some time before I resigned that I had last been granted time to talk with either of them in person, despite requesting meetings? I would get random texts of things he wanted me to do, or bring up to the Council, and then he would promptly proceed to do things that made those things obsolete, without telling me to pull topics from the agenda, so I would look a fool in front of the rest of the council when someone else would tell me that was already resolved. Neither of them have attempted to talk to me about my resignation either. Even though I offered to make myself available to either or both of them if they wanted to talk to me or had questions. In fact, the only times Vegard has even acknowledged I exist was when he came to the wedding... I think more for Darrius to be honest, and last night when he nodded to me when I was leaving after Court. So. Yeah. I went from being family to them... their words. To essentially being to worthless to acknowledge."

Madeline listens and gently brushes back your hair as she does so "May I be blunt love?" she asks, her tone loving "You were given the position of Harpy and quit, given position of Primogen and Council leader.. and quit. Now.. none in the rose is in the LEAST way upset with you. NOt every position is right for every kindred" her fingers continue in your hair as her eyes search yours
  "My dearest.. I am sorry if they have in some way of ommission hurt your feelings. Should either of them actually have ill feelings towards you they would have told me. I am sorry you feel passed over though I do know Vegard has /not/ sought to make you look a fool, that may be your perception of it. Had he any such intention he would have told the Harpies, or cautioned me so I could discuss it with you" she gives you a soft sad smile "My love.. you are so young, do you think perhaps.. you are still feeling as a human girl might?

Shiori says distantly, "Perhaps." It's all she says. She turns the rose slowly in her fingers. "It was just... last night, you asked him for a meeting and he said he always will make time for the primogen. Yet he didn't for me when I was trying /hard/ to do good for the Praxis. It just." She is quiet a moment, then "I feel like I was used. He wanted Toreador support for his rise to Prince. When he was established, I wasn't worth the time any more. I'm glad you're having more success than I had. I truly am glad of that, Mom. I just don't like realizing I was used and discarded."

Madeline reaches over and places a finger beneath your chin, gently asking you to look at her. Those loving sapphire eyes meet yours "Shiori.. if that had been the case, he would have turned his back on the Rose as a whole. I understand how you are feeling, though I do not agree that it is true. Perception colors everything" she leans over and kisses your brow gently "Are you free to comet o the meeting with me tomorrow?

Shiori gazes at you, her eyes sad. But there is some distance there, "I don't think so. It is best of the two of you take care of the business you need to cover with him. And I would appreciate you don't bring this up. I'd rather not be called to task in open Court next week for being emotional. I'll be fine. Just have some things to think through." she forces a smile back to her lips.

Madeline watches your expressions, listens to your tone and sighs "Shiori.. dearest love, he did not need your support to become Prince, he had enough of it to take the seat. He asked for it and I encouraged it because that is what we do. You have not been used and tossed aside and.. with the love I bear you, I would ask for you to shake this off. NO one in this court bears you any ill will nor, and I can all but guarantee that none of the rose, Ayra or Vegard hold an ill thought against you. If you wish to wallow you certainly may but.. unless you are willing to do something to correct or confirm your suspicions I cannot help you. Come to the meeting with me tomorrow and hear it from his lips if for some reason, you cannot believe me. This darkness ill becomes your beautiful soul"

Shiori looks back to you, "Mom, I'm not crashing your meeting with the Prince tomorrow. You have business to benefit the Praxis to work through. Not my emotional stuff. It would be selfish for me to hijack your time with him. Besides. I should probably give Darrius some attention. Need to keep my husband happy."

Madelines brow arches "If you are invited.. by your Priomgen and Elder how is that crashing and how do you think I would not address your concerns and then allow you to depart so we could discuss business?" she sighs and kisses your brow again "As you will dear one

Shiori says simply, "It would take time away from taking care of the Praxis. I'm not going to do that." She lifts the rose to her nose again. "I just need time to sort myself out."

Madeline nods and leans back letting the topic close "What music are you writing love? When not keeping your husband happy" she smiles "I will require a lot of help for the holiday gala/grand opening of the Crown

Shiori looks back at the sheet music. "I just had some ideas pop in my head while I slept today. Some music runs and I have been capturing them before they fade. I sent my latest project to Dreamworks a few nights ago so this is just the creativity coming out." She touches the staff sheets with a fingertip. "It helps me think. Gymnastics helps me think too, but I didn't feel like making the drive to the school."

Madeline smiles warmly "I am so proud of your work sweetheart" she says "It is amazing you can hear music in your dreams and recall it upon waking. What a blessing"

Shiori looks back up, her expression lightening a little bit. Music /does/ make her feel better, "I don't always hear music in my dreams, but it usually sticks with me a while when I wake, when it does happen. Which is a blessing. I just have to work out how to make it sound just like it did in my head. But if I can get the framework down, then it usually works itself out with some patience."

Madelines lovely eyes warm and she nods "I would very much love to hear it when you feel its ready. Of course I would love to hear it even before then but I know you'd not allow it

Shiori says softly, "Not until it's done. It would taint the final result for you. But when it's done, I'll let you know." She leans over to kiss your cheek lightly.

Madeline chuckles and tips her perfect cheek to the kiss "And.. you will be dancing with us at the galan non?

Shiori nods her head a little bit, "I promised I would. I wouldn't leave you in a lurch, Mom." She lifts one small hand to brush a lock of your lovely hair away from your face. "When will we be practicing?"

Madeline smiles "Well I had hoped after I finish my business tomorrow

Shiori nods her head, "You'll need to give me a call."
