  1. [20:52] {NARRATION} As you enter the realm of the dead, the overbearing scent of rot fills your nostrils. This pungent aroma is trivial when compared to the overbearing corruption, curtesy of Agartha's blight. Though, as you look around you, there seems to be an underwhelming amount of undead.
  2.
  3. Far in the distance, beneath a naked Willow, you may spot a single shambling corpse, but one may ask...
  4.
  5. What is it doing all on it's lonesome, when the scouts had reported hordes mere days prior...?
  6. [20:53] The avatar watches calmly. It doesn't seem to react. It's eyes merely glow a thick emerald green.
  7.
  8. It's head turns to Ovan, and it makes a gesture with it's claw towards the undead.
  9. (Adsila Coaxoch)
  10. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  11.
  12. [20:54] The Vindict does not seem shocked, or thrilled by the sight- they were not to expect reports to be perfectly accurate, or their tenors not to be captured by whoever were the ones to control the masses of undead.
  13.
  14. "A trap?"
  15.
  16. He paces sidewise, briefly separating himself from the group's cluster- and picks a rock from the ground.
  17. (Mitra Vindict)
  18. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  19.
  20. [20:55] Gathering what courage he could he followed Ovan and the rest of the Undead clearers out into the Dreadwoods. Although Laphicet was all for this mission it didn't mean he didn't have his reservations of what could go wrong. Making sure to keep his awareness intact as he searched the tree lines for any signs of movement.
  21.
  22. However despite what Ovan had reported it seemed there were far few undead instead of the hordes like he once predicted...He this made him unwary he made sure to keep his resolve firm as he began to inch his way in the underbrush of the Dreadwoods which seeped with Occultic power.
  23. (Laphicet)
  24. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  25.
  26. [20:55] Despite the fact they came to slay a bunch of rotting corpses, Sigrun seemed awfully upbeat, but still alert. This was until the putrid scent of rotting flesh was inhaled through her nostrils.
  27.
  28. Immediately, the Ookami's expression contorts into a grimace as she puts her hands over her nose and mouth. In a muffled tone, she complains, "Eeeew! What reeks?! I don't even see that many corpses here, unless they just stink that bad? Eugh! I didn't know it was gonna smell THIS bad."
  29. (Sigrun)
  30. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  31.
  32. [20:55] Sayuri had long before their arrival found herself gripping against the unfamiliar heft of her mana rifle, some small comfort held within the artifact’s ‘protection’. Yet as that overpowering scent conflicts with Sayuri’s senses like some brick wall, the woman’s hold turns into a stiff deathgrip. Wide golden eyes peer over their destination, the roving stragglers of the horde earning the utmost of the kitsune’s focus as the first of the group’s explanations were voiced.
  33. (Sayuri Ru)
  34. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  35.
  36. [20:55] It's dangerous territory. Typically, for freedom of flight, Ohtli goes unarmored. But here, in the dark and vile sprawl of corruption, the heft of the adamantite plate is comforting. What was even more comforting was being able to peer down the front of the armored shell to see the goofy smiley face etched there, a charm all its own against evil.
  37.
  38. Sword in hand she tries to work her way to the front of the group along with Jin, looking to him and the others for some sort of command. The front is where she belongs, no simple mage to sling spells at a distance. Ohtli's a warrior, honor-bound to be in the thick of it.
  39.
  40. "What now? Where's all the undead?"
  41. (Ohtli)
  42. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  43.
  44. [20:55] Something was wrong.. There was supposed to be a lot more undead around here. The place itself was creepy enough to accompany them, so where were they?
  45.
  46. "Kinda seems like it."
  47.
  48. Giving Mitra a nod of his head, a mythril hand would reach up to rub the back of his neck.
  49. (Jin Wvelven)
  50. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  51.
  52. [20:56] After a not so pleasant stroll to the Dreadwoods, they come across a single corpse in the fog.
  53.
  54. A confused expression surfaces on his face as he makes his way towards the fallen undead, golden orbs scanning the area for more.
  55.
  56. "I'm not sure. I could have sworn the reports said hundreds.." The end of his staff moves to jab at the shambling corpse, trying to get a reaction of some kind. "I suppose it is possible someone beat us to it.."
  57. (Ovan Huitzilopochtli)
  58. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  59.
  60. [20:57] It was honestly disgusting to her, the more she just stared at it, but she tried not to speak too much, unless she wanted to just puke. An amass of undead--
  61.
  62. . . . At least that was the idea until she saw the dwindling amoutn which only caused her to stare with confusion.
  63.
  64. "More than likely a trap."
  65.
  66. She agreed with Mitra.
  67. (Velvet Huitzilopochtli)
  68. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  69.
  70. [21:06] {NARRATION} When they walk, they may notice how disturbingly soft the ground is. Each step feels as if they're going to be devoured by the dirt, sinking several inches deep with every moment.
  71.
  72. Adsila however, may float along, and avoid the strange feeling of unnaturally soft earth.
  73.
  74. Despite the overbeating scent of death and decay, things seem to be relatively safe...
  75.
  76. That is, until Ovan jabs the zombie with he staff.
  77.
  78.
  79. This lifeless creature turns it's head, gazing at him with lifeless hollowed eyes. With it's maw falls open, he could bear witness to the many maggots embedded within it's tongue and gums.
  80.
  81. It screams.
  82.
  83. A guttural gut-wrenching scream echoes throughout the dying woodlands. While Ovan stares death in the face, the ground dwellers?
  84.
  85. Would feel mutilated hands rising from the dirt, grasping at their ankles.
  86.
  87. Probably why the dirt was so soft...
  88.
  89. [21:11] The softness of the ground isn't her chief concern as she advances alongside the group. It quickly becomes one as the desiccated hands rise up, clawing for her armored feet.
  90.
  91. She could have fanned her wings, tried to resist the pull and taken flight out of their reach. Instead Ohtli takes option two. The surgings hands tearing through the corrupted soil is something she instead tries to capitalize on.
  92.
  93. Now she knows where to stab.
  94.
  95. The young warrior woman lifts her blade and starts fiercely stabbing through the dirt at what is no doubt now her foe. They came to cleanse the undead. No time like the present.
  96. (Ohtli)
  97. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  98.
  99. [21:13] The steps were made to the undead, but a few safety trecks to make sure she didn't step too close or too far.
  100.
  101. The sudden gutteral screech that begun to resonate within the forrest almost like it was trying to call out for help-- or to call that a trap had been set. It was quite bone chilling to say the least, almost like someone putting their nails against a chalkboard and scraping it across the pavement.
  102.
  103. The shiver halted until--
  104.
  105. It was like the entire forrest itself was moaning and wailing, albeit similar to that of the undead that Ovan had 'assaulted'. She winced-- until the soft ground which was being questionable bursted outwards.
  106.
  107. The decayed hands which touched against her feet and ankles.
  108.
  109. Without much thought placed into it she grabbed her hammer and simply started to swing it down, trying to knock the hands that aimed to grab and pull her down as well as the ground itself.
  110. (Velvet Huitzilopochtli)
  111. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  112.
  113. [21:15] As they moved along towards the Dreadwood there was a certain calmness and silence that could only spell misfortune. As he stepped into the soft dirt. Softer than usual it felt almost as if he was unable to keep his footing sometimes as he trailed onwards. He'd halt himself observing Ovan jab the corpse with his staff. Only for it to spring to life the jaw of an undead creature rushing forward to maul him.
  114.
  115. Laphicet wasn't near by but he was close enough to make an attempt at fending the creature off and aiding his friend. However as he motioned to lift his feet from the ground he'd notice it then and there. The breaking of the soil as hands of rotted flesh filled with various insects imbedded in the arm reached forward pulling his leg nearly into the ground.
  116.
  117. Laphicet nearly fell forward, During his attempt to help Ovan it seemed he was in a predicament of his own. Quickly igniting his body in holy fires the creatures arm would be seared off the arm theflesh peeling back as the corruption of undeath was in pained by the holy white flames Laphicet controlled and quickly reduced to Ashes. Laphicet then instinctually leapt backwards further from his original destination.
  118.
  119. Farther from Ovan as well, He knew there was not much he could do but prepare himself for the worst quickly shouting for everyone to hear."They're below us!" Although it would've been obvious at this point he made sure everyone got their guard up in time.
  120. (Laphicet)
  121. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  122.
  123. [21:15] Mitra does spare as much time and thought as he can manage, feeling the clutch of undeath itself grasping at his ankles. Eyes dart downwards, as shockingly stoic in such circumstances as ever, but perhaps he was too trusting of his own ability and that of his comrades to survive that manner of allegedly feeble assault?
  124.
  125. The Vindict's form condenses and turns into the embodiment of lightning itself, assuming a volatile, azure frame, before it dashes across the floor, razing all in its path, evading the comrades that might have prostrated themselves in the utilized route.
  126. (Mitra Vindict)
  127. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  128.
  129. [21:15] So that was why the ground was so soft. The Ookami woman paid almost no mind to the soft ground until Ovan decided to prod the undead with his staff. Her attention was drawn to that display until suddenly a pair of undead hand shot out from the soil and attempted to latch onto her ankles. That, combined with the terrible screech put the Ookami on alert.
  130.
  131. She instinctively reaches to her back, but then realizes she has an axe of all things -- if only she could somehow stab into the earth without struggling, oh well.
  132.
  133. The most Sigrun could do right now is kick and struggle against the hands. "I didn't know they could set up traps like this!"
  134. (Sigrun)
  135. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  136.
  137. [21:15] Suddenly, hands would begin to grab at his ankles from the ground. Drawing his blade, he'd start to stab at the ground beneath his feet almost on instinct. While at the same time, winds would erupt around his form, trying to push the hands off, and away from him.
  138.
  139. He wasn't going to get dragged down today. Hopefully, he'd be able to stop some of the nasty undead before they could pop up by stabbing them first.
  140. (Jin Wvelven)
  141. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  142.
  143. [21:16] "Or maybe, he's the alarm --"
  144.
  145. The scream comes with a mildly panicked reaction from Ovan as the ground beneath their feet starts to shift and tear.
  146.
  147. Suddenly, Laphicet's idea for levitation potions sounded like a much better idea.
  148.
  149. His staff is flipped around in a dramatic fashion, the head of it now aimed directly at the maggot-infested undead. Rather than simply allowing the burden to the lifestream to continue on its dirtbound course, a surge of ice magic bursts forward in its face, aiming to overwhelm it with shards of ice that would hopefully serve to tear the head to shreds.
  150.
  151. From there, he aims to leap away from the hands clutching at his feet and call out to the others as his ears rang.
  152.
  153. "Let's group up! Watch your ankles."
  154. (Ovan Huitzilopochtli)
  155. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  156.
  157. [21:17] A curious gaze shifts over that solitary undead, so crudely molested by the edge of Ovan’s staff. A stern frown was plastered against the fox’s visage, yet as that horrid screech resounded through the swampy marsh, that frown deepened into a scowl. Once attentive vulpine ears fold flat against the kitsune’s scalp in some attempt at protection against the horrendous sounds. Yet it was not the noise that Sayuri would find herself bothered by for long.
  158.
  159. As the first of the shifting ground beneath the woman’s stance stirs, a horror soaked dread overtook the fox, wide golden orbs plummeting to discover those groping hands. Lips part in some silent scream, yet the fox was spurred into action as her armored boot was claimed. Erupting into holy flame, licking tendrils materializing about the magi in a swirling inferno.
  160.
  161. That rifle so desperately clutched at was lowered, targeting an unseen foe as the vixen surged with wild power. The arcane crucible of the artifact in her hands charges with her energies before she recognizes the shared horrors endured by the group, a growl filling Sayuri’s chest as she fights ground with ground, sanctifying the area about them in a wide spread. “G-gods bless, what emerges from the ground surly must return to it!”
  162. (Sayuri Ru)
  163. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  164.
  165. [21:21] The avatar calmly floats, completely undisturbed by the living dead. She blasts a single shard of crystal into the undead that was above the ground already. No reason that it should needlessly grapple one of the ground-walkers.
  166.
  167. It's counterparts would surely be able to manage their own situations.
  168.
  169. It instead closes it's eyes, and focuses internally. Prodding outward with the life-stream. Seeking, attempting to discover if there are more of the living dead.
  170.
  171. It was perhaps better to be prepared.
  172.
  173.
  174.
  175.
  176. (Adsila Coaxoch)
  177. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  178.
  179. [21:41] The surge of lightning seems to work for the most part, but Mitra is, at some point, paralyzed? Certainly not a Spires of Agartha bug, it seemed that the Vindict had been tightly grasped by the ankles by the rising undead and restrained in his spot, after his initial charge had ended!
  180.
  181. He is freed too late, and seems to miss a sizeable sum of the combat, shooting bursts of wind and lightning towards the fingers that latched to his limbs, spending all this while carefully aiming for them in a way that'd not harm his own flesh.
  182. (Mitra Vindict)
  183. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  184.
  185. [21:41] The avatar essentially watches as everyone else does all the hard work, it merely floats, summoning flowers and mandrakes.
  186.
  187. They make the place smell much, much better certainly, but their use was perhaps dubious at best.
  188.
  189. It just.... watches, glowing emerald eyes refusing to get distracted by the battle itself, the mandrakes and flowers seem to do their part.
  190.
  191. The battle comes to an end, and it says one thing.
  192.
  193. "I've been around far to long to believe that was it." It's ethereal voice rings out.
  194.
  195. "Stay on guard." It warns from the back-line, hovering.
  196. (Adsila Coaxoch)
  197. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  198.
  199. [21:43] And so the battle was on. With her comrades at her side, Sigrun removed the axe from her back and essentially went to town on the undead horde, hacking and chopping with reckless abandon -- the situation was indeed life threatening, but she either didn't realize it, or just had a lot of faith in her skill and the people she was fighting with.
  200.
  201. She could get used to do this, as it almost fun to be in a fight.
  202.
  203. Also at some point she decapitates a zombie, but isn't quite sure which due to the sheer quantity of undead present.
  204. (Sigrun)
  205. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  206.
  207. [21:44] Quickly morphing his arm into his signature move, as the horde of Zombies arose-- And he would get to work. Slicing, and dicing, slashing, and dashing. Doing pretty much everything a swordsman would do. Though, a sigh of relief would escape past him as the horde was dealt with, and they were left with the 'head' honcho himself.
  208.
  209. Once everything was said and done, the powers surrounding his arm would fade, and he'd lean forward to rest his hands on his knees. Catching his breath for a bit, he'd glance over towards Adsilla.
  210.
  211. "Yeah, there ain't no way it was just them."
  212. (Jin Wvelven)
  213. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  214.
  215. [21:44] Eventually, hitting it with a hammer turned to hitting it with fire, and from that? It was to lightning. She couldn't take that sort of abuse and seemingly begun to swing down the hammer with embued fire and lightning at its' helm. The flames slammed into the undead that slowly begun to pick up from the ground before a wash of lightning expelled frm her.
  216.
  217. It did not take much for them to be cleared of the large amount of undead that had surrounded them for the most part.
  218.
  219. "Right." It was a simple response to Adsila's statement. She inhaled deeply and brught the hammer onto her back, with a light sigh drawing from her lips on tnat notion. At least they were able to get some breathing room.
  220. (Velvet Huitzilopochtli)
  221. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  222.
  223. [21:44] Months upon months of dull gathering tedium are broken by the squall of battle. A purpose, albeit a simple one, lights a fear in Ohtli's heart. This is something that's clear cut; the undead are wrong, against the cycle, and they are one of the things in the world she's sure she can't tolerate.
  224.
  225. The undead rise from their hiding places and she puts her sword arm to work, felling corpses instead of felling trees.
  226.
  227. All of them make short work of the horde together. It's almost disappointing. Gouts of holyfire, great gusts of wind, mandrakes, lightning lances, all tear into the undead and return them to a more natural state.
  228.
  229. "Then let's get the rest before they get us," she says, perhaps a little too eager.
  230. (Ohtli)
  231. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  232.
  233. [21:44] That long lost sense of battle fervor washed over the vixen in overpowering tidal waves, that intoxicating mixture of fear and adrenaline that the kitsune hadn’t supped from since last she stared certain death in the face. Untrained energies surged through the fox as she struggled through the bog’s unforgiving terrain, every step another trial in maintaining her balance as she waded through undead and swamp alike.
  234.
  235. Wide swaths of fire and flame marred the profane grounds the fox inhabited, searing flesh and bone alike as she bode back the unrelenting tides of the living dead. The pryo burned with crackling flames, that inferno maintained even as the first of their combats ebbed away.
  236.
  237. Sayuri’s chest pounds through equal parts exertion and excitement as wide eyes peer over her allies, adrenaline fogging her judgment, and senses in that moment as white knuckles retain their hold against the glowing barrel of the overheated rifle. A low murmur escapes the vixen’s lips as a shaky hand turns to the bolt of the device, crudely pulling back as the howling hiss of cold air on heated metal fills the air. “N-no one’s . . . no one’s wounded?”
  238. (Sayuri Ru)
  239. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  240.
  241. [21:45] The battle starts off like any other again -- awkwardly, with a lot of moaning and grunting from one side. His primary target was the zombie that had cried out towards him and showcased its ability to create crystals around it.
  242.
  243. Rather than sticking to the frontlines as chaos sweeps the battlefield, the man sticks to the plan and plays the role of a support, slowing the zombies down with ice and wind magic so that the others could capitalize on their speed advantage.
  244.
  245. Through their strength and the blessings of the Lifestream, they pull through, with Laphicet managing to secure the final blow.
  246.
  247. Ovan lets out a sigh, a bit upset that he fell for such a trap.
  248.
  249. "Yep. Let's stay on our toes and keep going."
  250. (Ovan Huitzilopochtli)
  251. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  252.
  253. [21:45] It was as if they disturbed a hornets next and indeed that's what it would be. Mindless Zombies came from the soil one after another some of bone and some of corrupted contorted flesh all filling the surrounding with putrid undeath. Laphicet could no longer stand the sight of them, Reaching into his coat pocket he'd reveal spell tags covered in runic symbols. Quickly throwing them in the air he'd begin to chant while invoking his spirt magic.
  254.
  255. " OMO-WAKU-VISTA" As he chanted spirits of valiant exorcists would be awakened from their slumber and summoned to fight at Laphicet's side. Gathering the mana from the golden wing that rested on his back he'd begin to allow the overflowing energy to be released.
  256.
  257. Holy white flames spewed from the Angelic wing sending swirls of silvery flames towards the undead Blasting them down in droves. Raising his hands above he'd summon a lightning cloud. White spears of lightning rained from above blasting down the creatures one by one. His magic was perhaps the most useful in this situation each undead stricken down was burned to ash and their souls saved towards the Lifestream.
  258.
  259. " Go back to the Life's flow those who have been bound against thine will I will release you to forever be freed of corruption!" As he spoke those words the exorcist spirits moved in tow knocking out any undead solider who would dare get close to Laphicet.
  260.
  261.
  262. (Laphicet)
  263. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  264.
  265. [21:55] Adsila was right to be weary. Despite the destruction of this first wave of corrupt and unbound creatures, the screech prior, the sounds of battle, the thrumming of mana coming from various sources...
  266.
  267. It awakens one of the few creatures truly empowered by the corrupt star. The beast that approaches is massive, forcing the ground to vibrate with every step. This creature, one of the original abominations given birth by the creation of Pleiades...
  268.
  269. Is nothing short of a monster.
  270.
  271. Long before this creature comes into view, the group could hear the destruction in it's wake. With every moment, the land around it decays. With every step trees crack and the earth trembles. With every 'breath' the land is filled with rot...
  272.
  273. The flesh titan approaches.
  274.
  275.
  276. (SCRAMBLES THE DEATHDEALER)
  277. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  278.
  279. [22:00] The avatar's eyes seem to flicker for a moment, the region nearby being torn to pieces in it's mind's eye. Adsila didn't like this at all.
  280.
  281. "Annihilate it." The avatar states plainly.
  282.
  283. A clicking noise is heard, and crystals rend forth from the surface of the soft earth, and dozens of mandrakes begin to pour forth, in a tide of adorable, huggable green death.
  284.
  285. Flowers begin sprouting everywhere, and spores choke the air, biased of course in favour of her allies.
  286. (Adsila Coaxoch)
  287. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  288.
  289. [22:01] The smells and sounds reach her before the sight, the scent of rancid decay more pungent than before. The ground is jarred with each of the titan's steps. She can't -not- take notice of the damn thing.
  290.
  291. And there it is, the obviously malign colossus of putrefied meat, approaching from a distance.
  292.
  293. Ohtli loves many things, and she particularly loves it when things are simple. This qualifies. The abomination has to go. Adsila's command seals its fate.
  294.
  295. In what is no doubt a foolish gesture she lifts her sword high, lets loose a shrill war-whoop, and streaks by on her gifted wings to the front lines to tackle the problem head on.
  296. (Ohtli)
  297. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  298.
  299. [22:01] "Was that it? That first part was scary, but it was preeeeety easy-" She cuts her speech off when registering the vibrations and the thumping. The young Ookami looks at her party members -- it wasn't any of them making such a noise, so what could it be?
  300.
  301. Something big.
  302.
  303. As the steps grow louder and closer, Sigrun adopts a more alert, combative stance, holding her axe with both of her hands. What approached definitely struck fear in the young woman; never before has Sigrun seem something so terrible and horrid.
  304.
  305. And smelly.
  306.
  307. Was this really what the star was creating?
  308. (Sigrun)
  309. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  310.
  311. [22:01] The Undying approaches, having earned the title through sheer mechanical determination, likely steered forth into battle once more by the will and cruel whim of a puppetmaster- already in process of overthinking, Mitra had perhaps focused his attention too far beyond the most immediate threat that presented themselves before them, which lowers his guard . .
  312.
  313. . . and the quaking motions that shook the earth startled him greatly enough to threaten a hostile reaction towards the source of the sounds, until he realizes his imprudence might have brought him to injure another.
  314.
  315. The Vindict recomposes, treading to the side, as wind and thunder gather around his form. They creep along the metal wires tied to his fingers, worming along the ground in pursuit of the lesser undead.
  316. (Mitra Vindict)
  317. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  318.
  319. [22:02] Ovan's jaw drops a bit at the sight of the 'titan', his eyes immediately moving to scan the beast for any weakpoints that they could take advantage of.
  320.
  321. As the others prepare to mobilize, he brings his staff up and points it at its kneecaps.
  322.
  323. "As good a place to target as any. Let's do it."
  324.
  325. The Huitzilopochtli shoots a look over to Sayuri at this point, making sure the Kitsune was still fine. This was her first raid, afterall.
  326.
  327. If everyone was good to go, he would attack, moving beside Mitra with the large target on his radar. They did not have time for fear.
  328. (Ovan Huitzilopochtli)
  329. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  330.
  331. [22:04] The fox winces as her stance shifts uncomfortably under that second skin of metal. A scowl is shot down towards her calf, an unseen bruise pulsing with every heartbeat that hammered against the kitsune’s chest, a half kneel is made as a hand secures her hold against the still steaming rifle in her hand, a second reaching down for that unseen wound. A soft breath is swallowed, tainted by the filth and corruption that plagued the lands, yet the fox found still the concentration to ease caressing motes of holy energies into herself, easing away that pain. Until she felt it.
  332.
  333. The dull thump of the land was initially dismissed as the havoc wrought by her pounding heart, yet as another, and yet another came out of pattern, the fox did not have the good fortune to dismiss it. Abandoning the self treatment wide searching eyes seek the disturbance as she swiftly ‘chambers’ her rifle, stealing with it the air cooling of that still smoldering crucible burred within her rifle.
  334.
  335. It wasn’t long to find the gargantuan that threatened the company’s presence within the cursed land. At first disbelief welled up within her chest, yet as her companion’s responses and commands were spoken, the fox failed to discredit the monstrosity as make believe. A panic filled glance was shot towards the man she’d found herself naturally gravitating towards, Ovan’s red suited form at the forefront of her attention as the brunette begged for some sign of guidance. Yet words came not as the male sprung forth into action, and soon after it, the vixen as his side.
  336. (Sayuri Ru)
  337. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  338.
  339. [22:05] Something in the distance could be heard.
  340.
  341. Yeah, no. Adsilla was right. Things weren't just going to be as easy as beating up a smaller horde of zombies. Corruption would tear apart the lands as he made it's way closer towards them, and the Wvelven's eyes would narrow in on the titan. This one wasn't going to be some pushover, either.
  342.
  343. Jutting out his arm, winds would surround it, followed by a layer of fire being ignited atop it. Slowly, but surely, his arm would once again be morphed into that demonic claw. But, something was different. Occasionally, an azure hue would flicker-- as it's color was changed from a burning red, to a soothing blue.
  344.
  345. Tightening his grip on his blade, that same energy would extend out it's length. Making the already unwieldy blade that much longer. Something he had been practicing most likely.
  346. (Jin Wvelven)
  347. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  348.
  349. [22:05] The decaying smell that filled the air was something that was less desired. Something that she despised, if anything, but at the same time, it just gave her an incentive to destroy what it was. The source that simply jolted into her head for the most part.
  350.
  351. The large anomaly that came with the undead itself that only caused more of a nuisance than anything. She grabs onto the hammer once seeing this once more.
  352.
  353. They were not done, and this was only getting started. She rose the hammer upwards with one hand as the lightnng slowly begun filter along the metal feature of the hammer. It sparks, but that was all it did.
  354.
  355. If there was nothing else to be said in regards to all of this, Velvet took off, taking bee-line for the bigger target. She tried to make sure that they could close in quick enough to overwhelm the target first before doing anything else.
  356. (Velvet Huitzilopochtli)
  357. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  358.
  359. [22:05] Death approaches... The words rang in Laphicet's mind from an unknown source yet he could feel the strong presence echoing of corruption much more than he could have imagined. Violence incarnate this was the abomination made from the corrupted star of Eidolon?
  360.
  361. The spirits in Laphicet's aide could sense it approaching rapidly quickly the formed a protective barrier around the exorcist to mitigate what they could of the corrupted Rot from spreading towards Laphicet and the others. Laphicets knees felt weak as he saw the creature with his own eyes. A Titan that held an aura of death and pain.
  362.
  363. Perhaps it was not something the others who where not Spiritually or Lifestream connected could sense but as for Laphicet he could hear it...The screams of agony that erupted from the creature bound which bound the souls of countless tortured individuals into one lump of flesh and decay.
  364.
  365. The Exorcist was besides himself in words all he could thing to do was save them. Save them from their slavery their torturous life as weapons for cretins who abused the very thing that gives life to this world. Tears began to stream down Laphicet's face yet he held nothing but remorse for this creature. and the drones of dead that followed him.
  366.
  367. Flames reignited there was nothing more to say everyone here knew what was to be done. In a hushed tone the exorcist would summon his power no longer seeing the need to hold it back. Spirit Unification would be used even in its uncomplete form he'd transform himself with the aid of the spirits into a being worthy of divine powers.
  368.
  369. Angelic white wings filter on his back as the holy mana from the pseudo wing ignited. It was still incompletely yet he figured now would be the perfect opportunity to test it." Go back to the Lifestream creature."
  370.
  371. (Laphicet)
  372. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  373.
  374. [22:17] ** Ohtli has inflicted an injury upon SCRAMBLES THE DEATHDEALER. ("Permanent Injury", "Permanent Injury", "Permanent", "Severity: MODERATE (-20 Vit)") **
  375. [22:24] ** SCRAMBLES THE DEATHDEALER has inflicted an injury upon Ohtli. ("Charred flesh", "Your entire body is covered in burn wounds. While the pain has long since subsided, you appear to be nice and crispy. Like a chicken tender.", "Temporary", "Duration: Medium (4 days)") **
  376. [22:28] Sigrun whispers something.
  377. [22:28] Jin Wvelven whispers something.
  378. [22:37] This victory does not come without sacrifice.
  379.
  380. Ohtli burned, Velvet nearly flattened, and Sigrun? In a sense, she gets the worst fate out of those injured. This rotting creatures skin begins to melt, dripping from it's frame. It falls upon Sigrun, rapidly congealing, forcing their flesh to meld. The entire process is painful, but it's likely more painful to watch just to watch.
  381.
  382. The creature fights until it's body is nearly melted, and soon, it'd be nothing more than a pile of goop and bones--
  383.
  384. Yet, something lies embedded in it's flesh.
  385.
  386. A small, blue orb, filled to the brim with tainted cosmic mana.
  387. (Glulisine)
  388. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  389.
  390. [22:37] {NARRATION} This victory does not come without sacrifice.
  391.
  393.
  394. The creature fights until it's body is nearly melted, and soon, it'd be nothing more than a pile of goop and bones--
  395.
  396. Yet, something lies embedded in it's flesh.
  397.
  398. A small, blue orb, filled to the brim with tainted cosmic mana.
  399. [22:47] Yet the battle raged on and on . . . Sayuri’s heart pounds through a compounding sense of fear and battle fervor as their sure assault was waged. They were the light, they were the pure, nothing unjust could stand in their way. And it was that same confidence that fueled Sayuri’s flames, each searing gout of stinging holy-fire stealing with it the corruption of the land and body, burning away tainted flesh as those restless hordes befell the woman’s assault.
  400.
  401. Blades were swung, spells were enchanted, and the party sprung into action. Yet as the battle raged on, that confidence swiftly fled the woman. The first of the party to fall was a wake up call, a reminder of the dangers they all shared. Yet as ever more of Sayuri’s newfound companions fell to the striking blows of their mutual enemy, a new found fear sprung into Sayuri’s chest.
  402.
  403. Fear, and anger.
  404.
  405. The kitsune’s veins burned in agony as they seethed with battle frenzy, the unrelenting chaos of combat no place forthoughts, only actions, and emotions. Deaf to her own screams the vixen redoubles herself overcharging that decrepit rifle in her arms, more than once abandoning the artifact all together as burning tendrils emerge from her fingertips. The entirety of the woman’s form blazed in that maelstrom of flame, yet try as as she did effort alone wasn’t enough to spare her allies of their terrible fate . . .
  406. (Sayuri Ru)
  407. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  408.
  409. [22:47] The creature was vicious and unrelenting occultism bleed corrupting and putrid flames that spore undeath all around while they were fighting. Laphicet did his best to protect his comrades but even his power alone was not nearly enough. Ohtli and Velvet were quickly thrown to the ground by a powerful blow.
  410.
  411. Flowing them Sigurn would get the worst of the afflictions, Flesh from the creature would be graphed onto the poor woman's body spilling corruption all over her the searing of flesh and twisting of evil spread throughout her leaving only a broken person in the wake.
  412.
  413.
  414. Laphicet would get enraged although his Spirit Unification was incomplete he still would force his powers as best he could sending white fire and Silver lightning to strike down the creature bolting it and burning it with his purified magic to weaken its dark power as best he could.
  415.
  416. His spirits did their best to fend off the dead hordes soldiers that surrounded it monstrosity finally the final blow was delivered by Velvet which would close the end of the disgruntled group to finally get some semblance of rest after the long winded battle." Never would I have thought I'd survive something so Horrific...." He said wiping the sweat from his brow. His aura dissipating and the wings of holy magic returning to their crystalized state.
  417.
  418. The Unification ending leaving him a bit woozy and exhausted but still he used what strength he could to go to the aid of the injured. Using a holy light to heal what minor injuries he could and reduce the pain of the more serious injures.
  419. (Laphicet)
  420. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  421.
  422. [22:49] The sudden rise of different magics being used for the most part caused her eyes to widen as she didn't know where to actually go for it. Her hand grabbed onto the hammer and simply started to use it as a battering ram to slam it right into the undead's legs.
  423.
  424. A cruel mistake that soon managed to get her snatched up by the dark winds that swung by and threatened to cleave into her frame, causing her eyes to widen. She backed up, being nicked by the apparent occult mesh before trying again! This time. The fight kept going and she was eventually knocked back and away from the undead, causing her eyes to widen even more or so, before realizing the problem.
  425.
  426. She was playing it carefully.
  427.
  428. Too carefully.
  429.
  430. She had to take risks and this was probably the best way to go about it. Her mana circuits ensnared with the responsibility they were given, lightning sprouts out from the hammer and around her left hand, surrounding it with enough lightning for what she had wanted to do.
  431.
  432. She rushed up while the others were closing in on it, waning it down. It begun to fall, but odds are it wasn't out of the picture from it. The lightning in the hammer suddenly convulsed and in almost a simply display as it impacted the ground, she was sent flying at the thing, almost like deranged psychopath who just got out of a mental institution.
  433.
  434. Springing towards sturdy undead as the lightning begun to embalm her flesh she would swing it inwards. Within one swift lunge of her hand, it would pierce into the skull of the large creature as it fell, discharging lightning within the skull and turning the brain into mush.
  435.
  436. She grunted harshly as the hand took the brunt force from the lightning itself. A deep sigh as she had assumed to have broken her hand. But when she tried to pull it out--
  437.
  438. The entire body fell and she felt a bit more pain than just a simple hand being broken. Her eyes widened a bit as it fell the weight of the body itself crushing her hand entirely. She couldn't scream as she was in a daze, but she let out a yelp.
  439.
  440. . . . That was going to hurt in the evening.
  441. (Velvet Huitzilopochtli)
  442. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  443.
  444. [22:54] A twinge of despair is present on Ovan's face as the sound of his sibling's bones being crushed echoes around the area. This cringe-bringing wound is enough to make the man take a more direct offensive as the battle reaches its climax.
  445.
  446. In an attempt to bring it to a decisive end alongside the other Huitzilopochtli, the man releases his staff and fires out a telekinetic push in an attempt to take advantage of its wound and quite literally rip off its heart or.. whatever it was that had been making it tick.
  447.
  448. .. He never expected it to be a sphere of congealed flesh and.. corrupted cosmic magic.
  449.
  450. As the mass hovers before him and the battle seems to come to an end, the man flares his nostrils and looks around the area to gauge the conditions of the rest of their unit.
  451.
  452. "It seems like we did it. Let's see to our wounded and hit that ritual you were talking about, Laphicet. Is everyone able to walk?"
  453.
  454. His eyes bounce around to those present, eventually stopping on Adsila and Sayuri. He knew that they might have been the most at risk members of their unit. Despite that, they both seemed to be in good health, and that's enough to bring a slick smile to his features as a hand moves out to rest on the kitsune's shoulder.
  455.
  456. "Good work, everyone. Mitra, Jin.. we really couldn't have done it without you. We still have a long way to go, but this will hopefully be a big leap forward in the fight against the undead."
  457. (Ovan Huitzilopochtli)
  458. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  459.
  460. [22:57] Horror would threaten to form along the amberish canvas of Mitra's front, if he hadn't seen enough of the terrors on display today- he does not wince, or relent, simply treading forward and providing aid as he can manage to the wounded and limping.
  461.
  462. By a fortunate twist of fate, the creature that felled him had been distracted enough by the onslaught of his comrades for the Vindict to evade the brunt of its incoming assault and further lethal, melting perishing, but this did not feel like a total victory.
  463.
  464. Did it?
  465.
  466. Risk was to be expected, but to see the youngest among them so harshly wounded was a weight to bear upon his conscience. He simply nods towards Ovan's display of gratefulness, before his attention darts back to the felled three. The spoils are promptly disregarded.
  467. (Mitra Vindict)
  468. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  469.
  470. [22:58] She's right there, on the frontlines, finally where she belongs and in the thick of combat. A -real- warrior.
  471.
  472. All things come with a price. This victory is no exception.
  473.
  474. In the frenzy of battle it occurs to her all too late that the heat of the corpse's flames are all too close. She can no longer withdraw, caught in the inferno that scorches and sears her painfully.
  475.
  476. Her sword arm, her magic, works through a haze of pain. Ohtli dimly registers the thing collapsing, falling into ooze. Now, with it gone, her wings work double-time to smother the flames that lick over her skin.
  477.
  478. Too little too late. The surge of battle ends, adrenaline leaves with it, and massive swathes of her are burned and singed. Some of her hair and feathers too.
  479.
  480. But, by the Serpent, she's still stubbornly standing.
  481. (Ohtli)
  482. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  483.
  484. [22:58] Sigrun, along with her comrades, fought valiantly. Despite suffering a few cuts and gashes from the previous and current battle, Sigrun continued to fight with all of her might. She was frightened and also exhilarated, why, one part of her even wanted to run away from such a horrible creature, but seeing the others fight, along with simply wanting to become stronger through combat, Sigrun fought with utmost ferocity; she wished she had practiced more ranged magic, but until then, melee was all she had.
  485.
  486. She used her axe to violently chop and hack at the undead beast, utilizing whatever provided openings to strike quick and fierce -- she also used a combination of time magic to avoid otherwise fatal attacks and instead suffered some cuts and other injuries that summoned forth quite the pained snarl from the Ookami woman.
  487.
  488. Eventually? The titan was beaten, but not without a few casualties. As the behemoth began to fall onto the ground, more dead than it already was, Sigrun noted Ohtli's burned state. Sigrun herself was fortunate to not have been caught in such a fiery attack. Her attention is quickly directed to Velvet, however, who actually landed the final strike-
  489.
  490. Wait, was the creature melting?
  491.
  492. Before Sigrun could fully register this fact, she finds herself being 'drenched' in the melting, rotten flesh. It was just disgusting at first, but Sigrun found herself to be in pain? Why did it hurt all of sudden? Maybe she should have worn armor after all.
  493.
  494. As the flesh began to meld with her wounds, Sigrun dropped her axe and actually began to panic, groaning and occasionally shouting from the pain she felt from entire body. It began to dull, eventually, replaced with an increasing lethargic feeling. She felt tired and sick.
  495.
  496. Really sick. So sick, infact, that Sigrun fell to her hands and knees and vomited. Yuck.
  497. (Sigrun)
  498. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  499.
  500. [22:59] Coming out of the fight, the cerulean orb, or anything else that the fleshy titan might have dropped as it was downed was completely ignored for now. Instead, his attention is given to the three younger ones they brought along with them. Getting injured was always a risk when performing tasks such as this. But for it to happen to them? That didn't sit well with him. At all.
  501.
  502. "Yeah, yeah.."
  503.
  504. Giving Ovan a dismissive wave of his hand, he'd hover above the three that were injured, worry present on his visage. There wasn't much he could actually do for them, he wasn't a doctor. Nor did he know any healing magics. But, he could be there for them at least. That should help some.
  505.
  506. It was something he had grown accustomed to, but he understood that receiving an injury such as the ones they did, Velvet especially, would come with a bit of sadness.
  507.
  508. "-- Are you three okay?"
  509. (Jin Wvelven)
  510. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  511.
  512. [23:08] The final deed was done all the undead put back to death and now Laphicet gathers the bodies and limbs that remained in tact and gathering them into a pile and began etching runic symbols into the ground with his mana. The glowing letters hung over the occultic enriched dirt making sure he doesn't make any mistakes he worked for what seemed like a half an hour.
  513.
  514. " Now for the ritual of healing Everyone prepare yourself. With those words and started the ritual. Summoning the three exorcists at his side and also petitioning Sayuri if she had the strength he'd begin to place a seal on the Dreadwoods occultic power that attracted the undead and any other foul creature of corruption.
  515.
  516. The runes activated to his power swirling and spinning causing a whirl of mana to be summoned which eventually spread through the air replacing the foul scent of undead and decay with the faint smell of roses. Even if they had not beenattuned tot he Arcane or Lifestream or even the Occultism or Holy energies they could feel the rapid forces of occultic power rushing towards where Laphicet had gathered the bodies in the runic encirclement.
  517.
  518. "Now for the last step.." Applying the final layer to the seal he'd gather holy white flames of purity, and Justice towards the bodies setting them ablaze in silver fire. From above the skies cried out sending a bolt of holy Lighting raining onto the pile ending their suffering and finally. It could be visible to all who were joined there.
  519.
  520. The spirits of the dead risen from their bindings one after another moving onwards toward the light that Laphicet created. All of them finding peace as the moved back within the lifestream." You're slavery ends now! I break your chains and seal this foul power that resides here." It was just as he said the Dreadwoods felt less dark almost as if light was let in and the smell of death no longer lingered.
  521.
  522.
  523. (Laphicet)
  524. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  525.
  526. [23:11] It hurts. There's no doubt about that. It's not her first rodeo though. She grits her teeth and gives Jin, as he asks, a weak thumbs up. Her skin still smolders, smoke rising from her hair and her scorched feathers.
  527.
  528. But there's someone even worse off than her. The others can tend to the ceremonies and items.
  529.
  530. Ohtli starts hobbling, hidden behind her wings, towards Sigrun. It's ugly, the smell's awful, but the burnt-crisp-Wind Drakan hovers halfway over the downed Okami protectively.
  531. (Ohtli)
  532. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  533.
  534. [23:12] The icky undead flesh was taking its toll on Sigrun's form. She offers no response to Jin and instead decides to take a rest on the dirt floor.
  535.
  536. By rest, she just kind of collapses face down in the dirt.
  537. (Sigrun)
