  3. Sadly I'm working 7 day weeks for the next 2 months and with the Smogon tourney too I'm not going to have enough time to pull off this ubers tournament which I am pretty gutted about. I read you said you needed a little team help? I'll give you my team if you like; you said you like your blissey stall team so you should like this.
  4.
  5. Now pretty much everybody these days go for the hyper aggresive Borat approach; Mew, Mewtwo, Zapdos, Lugia, Snorlax, Steelix (or something else) and basically just the approach of putting explosion on everything, luring your phazers (primarily Lugia) and Lax's out, blowing up on them and then sweep you with their Kis Snorlax or S.Dance Mew, Cursia can catch you out too if you're not prepared. Now Mr.378 uses this, in fact I suspect he may even be Borat, and it is a damn good team and he's a damn good player, he actually beat my previous ubers team twice. But Mr.378 also says he's the best Gen2 ubers player in the world and lost against this team 3 times in the last 3 matches we played and has not beaten this version once.

  7. Mewtwo @ Leftovers
  8. Reflect, Psychic, Thunder, Recover
  9.
  10. Cloyster @ Leftovers
  11. Spikes, Surf, Ice Beam, Explosion
  12.
  13. Snorlax @ Leftovers
  14. Curse, Return/Double-Edge, Rest, Lovely Kiss/Sleep Talk
  15. (I find any of these combos work good; sleep talk is better for Ho-Oh, Lovely Kiss is better for Lugia)
  16.
  17. Lugia @ Leftovers
  18. Curse, Aeroblast, Whirlwind, Recover
  19.
  20. Tyranitar @ Leftovers
  21. Curse, Rock Slide, Earthquake, Crunch
  22.
  23. Blissey @ Leftovers
  24. Toxic, Flamethrower, Heal Bell, Softboiled
  25.
  26. I've spent a long time evolving and polishing this team and it's put me at rank 1 ever since I've been on the server and I wouldn't "recommend" changing anything too much on it other than what I mentioned on Lax, small move alterations can really upset it, but up to you bud ;) If you're using the L.Kiss lax I usually lead with it; Curse up, or put them to sleep off the start, whatever fits the flow! Both give you a jump on Explosion teams. The other good starter is Mewtwo, just reflect straight up (unless you're facing a dark type) and it really fucks the explosions from killing your switch ins, and also enables you to bring Blissey in easily and get busy with Toxic, which T.tar and Recovers don't like at all. If their Lax puts your lax to sleep first, switch in T.tar, you don't want to be keeping Tar to take on their Mew and Kiss Laxs rarely have ground moves.
  27.
  28. Apart from that I think you can work the rest out. Just keep reflect up all the time, spike up and play them, this team has insane stamina and can stall out most teams, just keep the Reflect and Curses up and don't get too jumpy about Explosions if they're playing you, and don't switch Mewtwo into Zapdos Thunders!
  29. That's about all I can say pal, good luck! I assume you know what the considered "standard" ubers team is broken down?

  197. Ok, in whole they look good mate, you seem to have the right idea on how to bring a good stall together but with all these teams I see the same weaknesses: Firstly Steelix is actually quite common in ubers and with your lack of Surfs and Earthquakes that thing will run riot on you. Also I see you've put Rhydon in i'm guessing as a lax/lugia check? Now I am baffled as to why you'd use Rhydon over T.tar and not have the stab earthquake? I don't think Rhydon is a great cheack for Lugia, lugia can carry, surf, ice beam, psychic and it really owns Rhydon, the best way to check lugia is crunch, thunder and toxic as it pretty much always carries curse and it just such a tank to kill with physical attacks. Honestly use t.tar over Rhydon for ubers if its non ohko. It's a lot easier to kill a Rhydon with psychic than it is to kill a t.tar with submission.
  198.
  199. As for transform Mew; it's novel but I don't really see its use in gen2? Gen1 was different because Mewtwo was so much better than everything else and it was a way to give yourself 2 of them, in this gen it just seems like a waste of a good swords dancer. I actually find SD Mew is one of those pokes that other people get on with better than I do, but with S.dance it is evil nonetheless. In ohko rules however its hands down the best pokemon in the game.
  200.
  201. Something i'd say to you is what's your strategy for dealing with Mewtwo? When you're facing one, what will be your approach for dealing with it? For me this was one of the hardest things to find a solid solution for in ubers because it can have such a variation of powerful moves.

  206. I guess your thinking with Rhydon is to lure out celebi and take down their heal beller? its a cool idea but hp bug doesn't ohko and no good opponent is going to give you a second shot with it, i'd be tempted to put hp bug on Celebi itself

  210.
  211. well transform mew helps scout opposing mons, as well as answering cursegia.. hp bug seemed more useful than EQ (or at least 378 said so..) altho I see what ur saying with ttar>rhy.
  212.
  213. maybe on team 2 I could run fire blast crunch roar rock slide on ttar and reflect>roar or st on kou.
  214.
  215. fire blast>psychic on mewtwo on team 3 I think.
  216.
  217. Dealing with Mewtwo: Reflect Mewtwo starts off every team and that gives me some basic opportunity to scout. In team 1 transform mew can try and scout its set, as well as act as a general annoyer to it with twave. Team 2 has a lot of different methods that deal with most variants, but ideally you can explode on it with your own mewtwo/force it to explode on your own mewtwo. Indeed I tend to consider Mewtwo my own mewtwo counter, cursetwo can be handled in similar ways to other cursers by the various teams. Umbreon checks Mewtwo nicely too, submission does paltry damage and it has a hard time coming in to do much. Team 4 also has a resttalk lugia.

  221.
  222. Good man, sounds like you have Mewtwo figured out, that's basically my approach for dealing with it. And yeah, the only reason i've ever used Rhydon over T.tar in ubers is because it hits lax harder with the stab e.q. Everyone says tar is no good in ubers because of submission but I disagree, for reasons I mentioned before, plus T.tar is better for killing Zapdos, which you will encounter a lot. But yeah you should think about Steelix, f.blast on tar will certainly help you with that. I'd listen to 378s advice, I just wouldn't take it all as gospel, he's a guy who likes the sound of his own voice and is unable to hear ideas beyond his own ;)
