  1. 18:59] {NARRATION} (Those heading on the spire events, please follow your respective leaders!)
  2. [18:59] Calista Shimasu whispers something.

  14.
  15. [19:15] {NARRATION} In the southwestern region of the Reimaran isle, lies a recently activated volcano. While the blue team devises a means to explore and conquer the floating isle, this massive unstable beast threatens to burn and consuming it's surroundings. Should it erupt, the islands skies will become black, raining ash and death.
  16.
  17. Ruining any chance of taking over and colonizing this remnant of the Illoytian empire.
  18.
  19. As they approach, the massive cone covered in ash and soot seems rival even the largest of Agartha's mountains. From it's crater, magma bubbles, boils, and pours down the main vent. From several fissures, streams of flame spout, making even approaching the thing dangerous.
  20.
  21. Thankfully enough, there seems to be an unnatural cave at the base of this behemoth. Arcanium, lined in Illyothian, demonic runes, allows an easy entrance. Not phased by the streams of molten rocks, pouring down either side.
  22. [19:20] Yet another trip to the jaws of danger.
  23.
  24. But one cannot make a difference unless they're willing to risk it, and while there was a certain precaution in his mind in this regard, especially knowing with whom he's going again, the Shaman immediately got to inspecting his surroundings. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that activating this volcano would mean a failed expedition, and perhaps stalled for another decade or even more, so it's something they must avoid at all costs.
  25.
  26. The behemoth of molten lava would be unforgiving to such mistakes.
  27.
  28. Instead, there's an entrance they could make use of. The floating isle isn't something that his group is destined to do, but there's a clear entrance ahead- the unnatural cave is assumed to be the man-made work, or rather, Demon-made work, so it would likely create for a safe passage. Besides, this metal looks awfully familiar.. which means it's going to hold.
  29.
  30. "Cave it is."
  31.
  32. Still, a brief glance to Elyon. Both him and Shenlong should know how certain Spires expeditions go, and he exclaims on that.
  33.
  34. "We'll likely need to watch out for traps. Anything that's out of ordinary could be an illusion too."
  35. (Keitaro)
  36. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  37.
  38. [19:20] Arkgvunde, being partially made of wood and unwisely sent on the volcano team, ended up having to take the extra prep time to encase themselves in raw Mana from their runes. It's a simple stabilizer - enough to keep the Demon in a perpetual state of burning and regenerating should they eventually come into contact with the lava flow's surroundings in the volcano's cave system.
  39.
  40. Only mildly deterred/disgruntled by this, Ark tagged along with the Red Team. They appeared to be taking the flank with Sima, a wary eye scanning for potential interception by the rampaging local wildlife/Demonic defense systems.
  41.
  42. It's quiet.
  43. (Arkgvunde Vel'heim)
  44. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  45.
  46. [19:20] Another day, another expedition-- The Fae had little desire to go on an adventure that may very well cost her life, however when it came to the Spires it just... Felt so right. She had to be here, to risk her life to gain everything, or die trying.
  47.
  48. "How... Peculiar." She spoke from atop Isaac's shoulder, head tilting upon noticing the Arcanium entrance to the volcano. Were they supposed to enter, or find a way around? In either case, she had no doubt that whoever had enough Arcanium to use it for an entrance… Had enough to make quite the weapons, yes?
  49.
  50. "No doubt this will be another gold mine, albeit dangerous, gehe!" A little snicker escaped her, mana surging as empathy was employed; a sensation of mana poking at everyone, extending even further than the group and to the entrance. Any obvious traps, or people lying in wait? She wished to know! Though of course, it wasn't always enemies were that easy to detect.
  51.
  52. A sigh escaped her though, "But I really don't like heat, yikes..!"
  53. (Nyphadora)
  54. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  55.
  56. [19:20] Caira is marching with the group - One hand in her pockets, the other resting gingerly on the hilt of her blade. She's quick to immediately note the odd feeling on the island what with the surroundings and region being utterly new to her and a far cry from residential Agartha. The woman had spent a lot of her life exploring those caverns and mining the ore from Agartha. She'd gotten to know the layout from top to bottom.
  57.
  58. This? It's uncomfortable because she's out of that zone of familiarity.
  59.
  60. With the Gehennan Chieftains and the other warchief, here she is with narrow eyes and a steeled resolve. ".. I imagine if we're going to be delving or at least near the volcanic mountain, we should keep our use of magic to a low if we can help it." The woman brings her free hand up to her head and brushes hair from her face. The sheer heat of the place was already making her uncomfortable and sticky.
  61.
  62. "..." With lava already running down the edges of the rocky cone, Caira's guard is up. She's quick to get closer now and examine the runes, the entrance, and what might be lying a few meters inside. "This is.. Intense."
  63. (Caira Vindict)
  64. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  65.
  66. [19:20] Aurora thought of the snowy mountains north of the ruins of Dusk - how even they didn't compare to the size of this mountain. How the volcano in Obsidia seemed like child's play versus what they were currently up against.
  67.
  68. Strangely enough, where it might invoke fear in the hearts of many... Determination is what consumes her own. There was more to see, other places to explore, and above all, an isle to claim. "Hm, hm." The demi-angel's wings flutter lightly behind her back, celestial dest beginning to drip from the skies. It follows the Cruor as she was the source of its creation - cooling her down from the heat of the mountain.
  69.
  70. It'd take some time to get used to, but so far, she seemed not to let it bother her.
  71. (Aurora Cruor)
  72. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  73.
  74. [19:20] Yet another journey into the land that held both riches and many dangers. The blonde joining the red team this time, follows the group, walking closer to the back end. It seemed like the next place on the list was some sort of volcano full of ash and magma. On one hand, it might have been good for an earth mage, but on the other? It was extremely hot, and that was obvious.
  75.
  76. Wiping a bit of sweat running off of her forehead, the Dryad woman peers into a fiery tear in the earth, half expecting the entire colossus to erupt right then and there, burying all of the group in hellfire and the whitest of ash.
  77.
  78. Luckily, there was an entrance to the gigantic structure.
  79.
  80. Celestine only hoped that it wouldn't be as hot inside the cave.
  81. (Celestine Elisheva)
  82. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  83.
  84. [19:20] They were indeed bound to this destination, were they, now? Sulphur was not Yandir's favorite aroma, but surely he'd endure. As the expedition's red team stalwartly treks towards its objective, the sarradian cannot help but be overawed by the complexity and richness of the mechanisms that course along the cave's brim.
  85.
  86. He turns to Tobias, perplexed, before murmuring,
  87.
  88. "Are all things here so sumptuous? For a fallen civilization, Illyoth sure retains many of its riches."
  89.
  90. This flaunting beauty, of course, is inevitably contrasted by the terrifying sight of molten, earthen streams that abundantly flow along the crater.
  91. (Yandir)
  92. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  93.
  94. [19:21] This isn't new. The runes etched into her back pulse with impossible life and power. The brilliance of another otherworldly being shown within the incandescence of her frame. Each step spills forth preparation...Cool, gentle gems and stones press upon flesh to block against the impeccable heat...And in preparation for what was to come. Nevertheless....She remained somewhat cautious about her own surroundings- her hues often drifting upon those that laid themselves infront…
  95.
  96. "Into the belly of the beast." It's fitting. Being devour within this manner. But it makes her wonder as to how many could possibly make it out of here. It makes her wonder how many will return once all things are said and done...
  97.
  98. "Don't fall, Ahmir. Remember what I said." A smile is offered, although, a knowing glance is shot forward - as if waiting for more. Hm. Hmm. Hmmm. So many thoughts. So many curiosities.
  99. (Ashalle)
  100. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  101.
  102. [19:21] While Tobias typically had some method to ward off weather conditions, he didn't have much he could do against extreme heat. The young man sweated as he proceeded. This time, it seemed like he was delegated to the red team. A more dangerous seeming task with less of a focus on research than the last group he traveled with.
  103.
  104. His advice to the rather large group surrounding him? "Stay hydrated!" he exclaimed, wise words indeed for such a blisteringly hot trail. He had been near a volcano before, but not one that was this active. Hopefully they'd be able to nip this natural disaster in the bud.
  105.
  106. They approached an unnatural cave line with arcanium, prompting Tobias to scratch his head as he appraised it. "I think so, Yandir. But- hm.. doesn't this seem a little too convenient?" he commented. Although, he would proceed regardless.
  107. (Tobias Ulrich)
  108. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  109.
  110. [19:21] This was different, he never really been around an active volcano before, and he has never been to an Island that was this much different than Agartha. A little bit of anxiety came over him, but nothing that would make him turn back from it, but quite the opposite.
  111.
  112. Slow, steady steps as he simply followed the group, letting his eyes scan the place around him and taking it all in. Even with his hands put together and letting the crook of his elbow hold his Arcanium Staff, nothing would stop the shakes.
  113.
  114. “Not going to lie, I didn’t expect the spire islands to be like this,” he stated as even his voice was shaking, wow. “I personally believed the spire islands would be more of a paradise than Agartha, boy was I wrong.” He was so, very wrong.
  115. (Declan Caelum)
  116. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  117.
  118. [19:21] A glance would be spared in Elyon's direction, as he silently made his way behind his Warchief. A smile had spread across his face, as he continued the trek towards the volcano. He was just so proud of his warchief, leading a whole expedition.
  119.
  120. He was going to make a fine chieftain one day.
  121.
  122. Once the arrived at the Volcano, the chieftain would simply tilt his head to the side, as he let loose an impressed whistle. Spirits, that thing was big, and really active.
  123.
  124. Right, well the only place for them to go was the cave, so he'd simply make his way to it, unless the expedition decided to do something else, in that case he'd halt his advance, to wait for them.
  125.
  126. Here's hoping everyone comes out of this alright.
  127. (Saba Sugar)
  128. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  129.
  130. [19:21] This area was far different from the last one, she learned they were headed towards a volcano, while the lucky blue team got the place she wanted.. the floating fortress. Oh well, perhaps they'll tell her about how wonderful it is. Considering the last time that they were here, the runes that had been discovered required a blood sacrifice, she wondered what these ones would require.
  131.
  132. There's a brief glance given to her friends, as she then turns towards Elyon, the team leader to see what they should do.
  133. (Tahldrig)
  134. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  135.
  136. [19:22] The Valerius squints before the towering terrain ahead, the streams of molten rock which flowed continuously down the face of the volcano certainly problematic should one have hoped to scale it. The heat was easily discernable even from where he stood, Ahmir having yet to be dissuaded from the thought of pressing forward into the caves.
  137.
  138. "Hmn. I wonder if it'll be spears again this time."
  139.
  140. He chuckles, a single finger hooking around a horn all the while. His crimson hues flick towards Ashalle, and then it'd been quite obvious her words irked his nerves.
  141.
  142. "Yeah, yeah... Th' same goes for ya'. Lets leave with somethin' shiny."
  143. (Ahmir Valerius)
  144. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  145.
  146. [19:23] A seizure which blitzed past the isles last time around; volcano erupting back into life alongside the way a certain, gigantic structure of stone, almost resembling a castle took over the skies. Little to no doubt that their presence alerted whatever that Archon had been referring to-- the sudden activity upon these mountains being undoubtedly far from a coincidence, regardless; the heated explosions needed to be stopped.
  147.
  148. Not particularly fond of the temperature, his steps are small, albeit quick all the while as the unit ventures further up the towering landscape, making sure to avoid any certain pyres or so.
  149.
  150. "Seems... surprisingly inviting."
  151.
  152. Murmured outward at the sight of the cavern's entrance, and a bit of nod is offered in Keitaro's direction all the while.
  153.
  154. "No other path, regardless. We're moving in, and..."
  155.
  156. Another, brief glance towards a certain demon-
  157.
  158. "-if you spot anything... peculiar-- runes or so you can decipher, feel free to mention it."
  159.
  160. No further words to escape as that trek continues-- slower, more careful.
  161. (Elyon Hirai)
  162. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  163.
  164. [19:23] After arriving at the mysterious island, he's heard much about it seems the unfriendly environment welcomed the group. They weren't kidding when they deemed this place dangerous, and that massive volcano proved it.
  165.
  166. He'd notice cave thought it seems rather sketchy from where he was a stand, but it doesn't seem like they have much of choice now. He'd follow the group into the cave seeing as that was the only other way to avoid the natural events occurring.
  167.
  168. He'd sigh now sure what they would find in that cave. He'd try his best not to fall victim to the environment. He still needs to handle some business back home, so he needed to survive this.
  169. (Ichida Rikiya)
  170. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  171.
  172. [19:23] And here she was again, amidst the unknown remains of the Illyotian empire. A single hand-- holding a matchbox-- remained pressed against her chest all times, out of both comfort and necessity. Her old wounds had immediately started to ache as soon as they had disembarked, be it due to the presence of the island itself or the Archon's phantom-- if one could call it that-- that she had encountered the other day.
  173.
  174. Sadly there wasn't much to do about it now.
  175.
  176. As others had definitely spotted the cave before her, she did not feel it necessary to point it out. Instead she just murmurs for those around her, perhaps pointing out the obvious.
  177.
  178. "Definitely man-made. I do not have a single sliver of doubt that we'll find something unwanted inside, whatever it may be."
  179.
  180. She quietly tagged along in the others footsteps, were they to move. Her focus was instead focused onto her feet, making sure to not step into anything unwanted.
  181. (Danu Lir)
  182. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  183.
  184. [19:24] The happy little gait of the Kang trudges on now with the red team! Holding a low hum and his bow at the ready those light blue hues scanned their path as they went. Every so often a glance is shot towards the floating island-- A shame, he'd probably hear stories of what was up there later.
  185.
  186. Approaching the base of the volcano his lips pull into a thin line, eyeing the runes that line the Arcanium. Well, that was something he wasn't going to be touching.
  187.
  188. Facing the heat of the volcano wasn't something all too new to him. Commands are uttered under his breath to help draw forth those few ties to his ice magic, letting it cool down the area about him. It wasn't much but it was at least something.
  189.
  190. "Suggest trying not to touch the runes either. Not a clue what they could do and all..." With nothing more than a shrug he'd follow the groupshould they continue.
  191. (Sima Kang)
  192. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  193.
  194. [19:25] It was only natural Isaac would head towards the volcano, of course. The promise of oppressive, choking smoke, and heat that stole the air from the atmosphere was one he was looking forward to, and it was no different here and now.
  195.
  196. How long had been simmering for? It was their invasion that had stirred something deep within the craggy, black rock and renewed it to life once more. The white wisps rise from the top like the fumes that give away a secret smoker. The mountain lies craggy against the bright blue sky, like a bomb in wonderland. There is no timer here, and they did not know whether it would rain lava and rock, if it would destroy them and all they have worked for without warning...
  197.
  198. But that was the exciting part.
  199.
  200. With a glance to his left and right, Isaac flashed a toothy grin. Then he looks forward again, following the group.
  201.
  202. He's not in charge this time, and he's been more than happy to take the role of the observer until otherwise needed.
  203.
  204. "Ever seen a volcano like this, you guys?" He asks, directed towards his left and right.
  205. (Isaac Shimasu)
  206. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  207.
  208. [19:26] Ashalle says, "...The one back home doesn't compare."
  209. [19:32] Declan Caelum whispers something.
  210. [19:36] {NARRATION} As the massive group draws close, the few runescribes capable of reading the etched runes are certain of something.
  211.
  212. They're harmless.
  213.
  214. Drawing in heat, to make entry into the behemoth of a volcano comfortable. Perhaps, a little to comfortable.
  215.
  216. Soon as they march inside, thick waves of dark smog overcome them. Making it difficult to breath. Warm to the touch, it would make your flesh feel dirty, bogging you down as you move forward.
  217.
  218. Within the volcanos core, lies a massive pool of lava, consuming nearly everything within. Should one look down, they'll see roughly twenty feet of metal, the only place would could stand, without taking the risk of getting burned.
  219.
  220. To the left, and to the right, there appears to be broken walkways. Destroyed due to the awakened of this summit connected to Eternia's core.
  221.
  222. Across what appears to be half a mile of lava, is a winding staircase, made of arcanium of course. This place seems to be full of it, and...with good reason.
  223.
  224. The other metals would simply melt.
  225.
  226. Massive bubbles begin to rise to the surface, popping, releasing more smog.
  227.
  228. And while most would only see raging flames, those attuned to the spirits, or flame, could see them.
  229.
  230. Dozens of fire, and magma elementals, all coexisting within one place. All massive, thrumming with an intense, unnatural amount of mana. Disturbing them would be detrimental to ones livelihood, for certain.
  231. [19:39] This could be a way of their passage.
  232.
  233. While Keitaro sees naught but lava, he can't help but notice the elementals belonging to fire and magma; this was, of course, their natural habitat, and they were the masters in here. Perhaps, this could actually be used to that.. and while the Shaman perceives all those spirits around himself, he turns to Elyon.
  234.
  235. "There's a lot of spirit Elementals in here."
  236.
  237. "I could try and make a temporary pact with one - give them something, and they provide us a safe passage. It seems we'll need to reach that staircase, but no idea what lies after it."
  238.
  239. "Could always simply ask them for more information about volcano as a whole, and give them something simple in return. Passage is something they'd definitely demand something worthwhile for, but information is small thing."
  240.
  241. But that decision is left to Elyon. After all, even bargaining with spirits like that could lead to unfortunate results instead.
  242. (Keitaro)
  243. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  244.
  245. [19:41] Declan was a runescribe, so when he read it, he knew exactly what it would say and he would move forward. Though, that was instantly a bad idea because he simply didn’t feel right, he felt dirty and disgusted with most of the surroundings inside of the volcano. His right hand moved over to cover his mouth.
  246.
  247. Disgusting, gross, vile - all the things that were running through his mind and it was evident with the way that his face was scrunched up. Deeper he went, and it was hotter, he hated the heat. He hated mostly everything that was fire and lightning with a passion. The deeper he goes, the more hatred he felt. Yet, that was when he was on the edge of it all.
  248.
  249. No way in hell he can go right.
  250.
  251. No way in hell he can go left.
  252.
  253. Yet, Declan looks down with wide, hazel eyes as he saw the metal… but going down wasn’t the best idea, was it?
  254.
  255. With Keitaro speaking, he looks over to them with a simple nod, but saying nothing. There was nothing to say. He had the right idea and all to speak to the spirits and forming a pact. Yet, the only idea that went through his head would be if they were the bad ones.
  256. (Declan Caelum)
  257. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  258.
  259. [19:41] Tobias crossed his arms in front of his face, coughing vigorously as the thick waves of ash rolled in. It definitely wasn't safe to breathe this. He encased himself in a holy barrier, a shield of light warding off the smog and allowing him to proceed forward in his own personal bubble.
  260.
  261. Although it was hard to see, the green glint of arcanium caught his eye. He had seen it many times now, and there was something unmistakable about it. "Arcanium is supposed to be rare, but whoever made this was loaded enough to use it like steel." he commented, a little jealous.
  262.
  263. "Elementals?" he asked, squinting. He wasn't spiritually attuned in the slightest, so Keitaro's explanation completely went over his head. "Where?"
  264. (Tobias Ulrich)
  265. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  266.
  267. [19:41] Arkgvunde kept to the back/flank of the group. Hopefully there was enough space in the cave systems for a full-sized elder Kaor. Little bits of runes and technicolor, spiritual fire accompanied them - Apparently the Ark is compensating for the constantly rising heat and background pressure of the place.
  268.
  269. ...
  270.
  271. Unfortunately, where Arkgvunde might've offered some kind of worthwhile postulation, the Demon found itself simply staring down the Elementals as they randomly entered and faded from their view. They doted on the poor things, wondering why or how there were even so many popping in and out of sight. Curioser and curioser.
  272. (Arkgvunde Vel'heim)
  273. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  274.
  275. [19:42] Spirits, it was hot.
  276.
  277. Bubbles kept mainly by Sima, trying to expend as much cooling mist from herself as she could.
  278.
  279. She looked out to the sea of lava, and was utterly clueless as to where to go. It was hot, she was lost, and this sucked.
  280. Her eyes lit up at the Arcanium, it as practically everyhere.
  281. (Nochtli Sugar)
  282. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  283.
  284. [19:42] Keitaro says, "The spirits are all over in this place, Tobias."
  285. [19:42] Keitaro says, "It's their home."
  286. [19:42] Following the way, their amber-hued eyes roamed the innards of the volcano. Arcanium shined everywhere, ash laced the edges of his jacket, while eyes were wide open with a small wind whisking things from touching his view. Looking all around a small gape is given while he gives a slight shake of the head.
  287.
  288. "You know, I'm fairly tempted to just try and remove a bit of this arcanium from a wall, after all this place seems to be laced with it." Yet a pause is given after they speak, eyes staring upon the slick surface, "But I have a feeling it may not be for the best." Lightly chuckling, their arms would cross, enjoying the comfort that definitely wasn't from being inside a volcano.
  289. (Eshmun Hirai)
  290. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  291.
  292. [19:42] Keitaro says, "I'm also sure they'll become upset if you begin ruining their home."
  293. [19:42] The cave was a much needed sanctuary away from the hot weather than rested outside. Huffing out a large breath, the woman takes a look around, soon turning to see if anything was following them into the maze to come. After heading in the direction their leader was taking them and experiencing the blackened mess that followed, she jams a cloth on top of both her mouth and nose, attempting to create some sort of filter, ensuring that no problems came from the smog.
  294.
  295. It might make combat a bit difficult, but she was sure that another solution could be made when that time came. Surely this was the least of their concerns.
  296.
  297. Where the oaken armor that Celestine usually created to thicken up her own skin was usually helpful, here it might do a lot more bad than good. She'd stick with it for now, deciding that the risk of being undefended was not a risk worth taking right now.
  298.
  299. One wrong move or one wrong step and they could wander into an ambush.
  300.
  301. One attack could end it all.
  302.
  303. Continuing on, the group finds a group of elementals. Deciding not to speak, but instead observe, Celestine looks to the leader.
  304. (Celestine Elisheva)
  305. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  306.
  307. [19:42] A single hand idly rests upon Requiem's hilt as he'd trek further, glancing about his surroundings, as well as between members of the unit all the same-- until a darkened smog slowly rises, that is. His free palm almost instinctively lifts upward, reaching for the features, yet-- as uncomfortable as it was; there appeared to be no toxin, at the very least.
  308.
  309. "Seems... relatively harmless-- don't try to blow it off, or anything. Kraus knows what that'd cause..."
  310.
  311. Once before the massive field of lava, he couldn't help the way those eyes narrow ever so slightly, gazing across-- barely enough space to step on, though a staircase was visible in distance.
  312.
  313. "It's either somehow make our way across-- with each and every single member of the squad, or..."
  314.
  315. A bit of shrug, and then ocean gaze shifts towards Keitaro.
  316.
  317. "See what you can do-- as long as it's quick, right?"
  318. (Elyon Hirai)
  319. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  320.
  321. [19:42] Eshmun Hirai says, "Fair assumption."
  322. [19:42] This place was amazing beyond belief- Despite the heat, the little Fae couldn't help but to grow more and more excited with each step Isaac carried her further inside the cave; how exciting it was to see such a surplus of Arcanium, and how it was used for something as simple as staircases!
  323.
  324. And the claims of spirits lingering only made the place feel all the more special...
  325.
  326. Oh how she wanted everything within! To just rift away everything made of Arcanium...! But alas, now was not the time.
  327.
  328. "Hnng! So cool!"
  329. (Nyphadora)
  330. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  331.
  332. [19:42] Arkgvunde Vel'heim says, "I get the feeling this isn't just their home. I'm seeing far, far too many to assume that they're all here willingly..."
  333. [19:42] It was... Surprisingly not all that hot inside of the Volcano, or at least the part they were in right now. Probably something to do with the runes that resided on the arcanium walls. Spirits, how much aracanium did they even need to build this entire thing?
  334.
  335. Bah, something he'd worry about later.
  336.
  337. Without dwelling on the incredible amount of arcanium required to build this hallway, and the things that lay beyond it, Saba simply pressed forward following after his warchief.
  338.
  339. A glance would be given to his right, and then his left as they got further into the volcano. Yeah, those were a no go.
  340.
  341. Also, was it just him, or was it increadibly hard to breath in here? This was going to be... Annoying, to say the least. A brow would be raised at the mention of the elementals, but he wouldn't ask any questions, odds are it'd be explained soon enough.
  342.
  343.
  344. (Saba Sugar)
  345. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  346.
  347. [19:42] A careful nod is paid as response to her uncle's words, Ashalle's words resonating with what Aurora felt. The ones at home truly didn't compare. Not in their size, not in their ferocity, and certainly not in the magic they carried.
  348.
  349. Even though they were far of it, Aurora had no doubt that this trip would be no different. They'll face ancient magic that was near-impossible to encounter elsewhere. .. Something not many magis could say they have, of course. It filled her heart with bliss knowing that she was a part of the chosen few.
  350.
  351. Fitting, of course. She was Thera Elisheva's first born, wasn't she?
  352.
  353. Her skin turns a little more translucent, reminiscent of her mother's signature ability. With the heat bearing down on everyone more, and the thick waves of smog, Aurora had no other option.
  354.
  355. "..Let's avoid taking down doors by force this time, uncle. We don't want a repeat of those spears again, hm?"
  356.
  357. Caring, of course. With just a hint of sarcasm in her tone. Adult or not, Aurora Cruor was still one hell of a brat.
  358. (Aurora Cruor)
  359. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  360.
  361. [19:42] Inside of the Behemoth, she followed the modest group of magi once more right into the face of danger, challenging the past and history with the company of many troops and volunteers from all around the continent.
  362.
  363. The comfort brought by the runes would soonish fade, making it harder to breath, such condictions brought her to even stay more behind a little, farther in... Arcanium.
  364.
  365. Once more it is impossible not to be impressed by the ancient civilization's Works, full of one of the rarest metals, their eyes could even shine, it seems like they're being consumed by excitment... Yet she wouldn't touch anything, even being tempted to.
  366.
  367. "...Damn... Look at all this shit... Uh!"
  368. (Iral Woodnshire)
  369. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  370.
  371. [19:43] Step by step the Kang follows as he continues to emanate that chill from his form. With the dark smog overcoming them he'd pull his scarf up about his mouth and scrunched up nose, pulling the fabric tight about his features.
  372.
  373. He was, in fact, already hating this.
  374.
  375. Light blue hues scan the pool of lava they come upon, a brow rising as Keitaro speaks aloud. Spirit Elementals? Well, if they could see them so be it. Tightening his grip about the bow he'd draw his left hand closer to his chest. The alien chill of the stars is focused upon the prosthetic attachment, attempting to keep it from melting within the intense heat of the area.
  376.
  377. "Sooo… Best we keep this nice and quiet, right? Can't imagine fighting in this heat all things considered."
  378.
  379. Pulling his lips into a thin line he'd peer about, eyeing those that were more attuned to the supposed present spirits. This was absolutely beyond his skillset.
  380. (Sima Kang)
  381. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  382.
  383. [19:44] "This is a test." She expects it to be something of the sort - riddled with traps and desires that others might not possibly understand. In the end though, she does not believe that talking to the fire and magma elementals would work...Perhaps, because she fears that they might be more corrupted than anything else. Instead...What she believed is that they would be tainted...Perhaps, lost to the effect of the spireshards...Meant to protect the pathway of those that were around.
  384.
  385. Nevertheless...She seemed careful enough. She watches them with silent curiosities. Lips pursed, hands carefully drifting behind her back as she murmurs. "Try not to remove anything. The runes might appear to be harmless but...They're all over the cave. If you remove one, you might end up making this whole place go down." Just a thought. But still...
  386.
  387. She seemed more intrigued by force than anything else.
  388.
  389. "I don't know if these spirits will be able to do much but...You all can give it a try if you want." She believed them to be hostile. But perhaps, it was the general 'feel' of the area...
  390.
  391. After all, what spirit would talk to invasive humans?
  392. (Ashalle)
  393. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  394.
  395. [19:44] Thick waves of smog, accompanied by the warm, pressurized air that made one feel nigh suffocated - would probably be an issue for most. She was, despite her lack of other skills, surprisingly okay with the environment. It all was almost too much alike her own magic that bordered somewhere between being pyromancy and whatever this was.
  396.
  397. She would make sure to talk to Him about it later.
  398.
  399. Being too far preoccupied with the energies surrounding the place, the Ookami appears to miss them even with the ability to detect them. It is Arkgvunde's words that make her take a proper look, glancing over the far-reaching pools.
  400.
  401. "Mm. Even if they were here by natural means, I doubt that-- what stood here before-- merely kept them as guests." She took a step back and awaited orders, as she did not have anything in particular to offer here other than a sound mind.
  402. (Danu Lir)
  403. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  404.
  405. [19:44] Elyon Hirai says, "Don't really know about this as much as you do-- though elementals don't tend to be the friendliest and most gentle spirits out there, I think? Make sure nothing goes south with whatever you're shooting for, Kei."
  406. [19:44] Caira brings up a palm cloaked in holy magic and slowly starts to project a small, radiant shield around herself and Tobias. Braving the heat, trying not to be suffocated by smog and the collection of disgusting heat the woman is quick to bear wide eyes as the walkway of arcanium. She's got a frown as well, spotting what must've been a hundred elementals moving in and out of the loaded magma below. Oh, it seemed like Tobias was also putting up his own personal shield.
  407.
  408. "I think we should be better off leaving all of them alone. They're in their natural habitat - State of living. Let's get through this as fast as possible, hm?" She's paused now, letting Keitaro do what he needs to, but otherwise doesn't seem too against making a dash across the arcanium bridge to get far, far away from this scene.
  409.
  410. ".. Let's hope the spirits aren't in an agitated mood.. I've never seen so many in one place." She's crossing her fingers for easy passage.
  411. (Caira Vindict)
  412. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  413.
  414. [19:46] Ahmir crosses his arms, his eyes having slowly taken in their surroundings as they motioned forward into the cave. Arcanium surely did seem like a plentiful source within this unexplored island, and such appealed to the Valerius greatly.
  415.
  416. Everything was of worth, and in his findings he only hoped to see more, and sample the many changes it'd bring about the adventurous few willing to subject themselves.
  417.
  418. "I do not wish to discuss terms and conditions with volatile fire elementals. Though... Do as ya' like."
  419.
  420. Force was probably the least likely to get them what they wanted, especially seeing as anything would likely have the molten rock in here erupt, and consume all odds of leaving with themselves in tact.
  421. (Ahmir Valerius)
  422. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  423.
  424. [19:46] A sea of flames bubbled beneath them, tempered and at ease for now. The spitting lava wasn't particularly welcoming, but a lingering smile persisted against the demi-angel's pale lips. He hears the mention of nearby elementals and passes a curious glance to Keitaro, followed by an audible hum. His gaze drifts to the fae perched on his shoulder, and he nods with her.
  425.
  426. "Cool isn't the word I'd use, but I hope you marked this hotspot, hm? I want to come back later."
  427.
  428. Despite his upbeat mood, Aurora's come has him smile falter a tad, pulling an amused sigh out of him. "It went well enough. A little bruce force is never amiss," he chirps back, then looks towards their path once more.
  429.
  430. Leaving the elementals alone sounded good.
  431.
  432. But he couldn't help and wonder if all this chatter might awake them. The art of whispering was truly lost here!
  433. (Isaac Shimasu)
  434. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  435.
  436. [19:48] So long as the commanding party of this expedition agreed to it, the Shaman didn't have to be told twice that he has a 'go-ahead' on the contact with spirits. Though, there were certain valid concerns, which is all about spirits potentially becoming hostile - which is why before he even makes a pact, he speaks to a single, closest spirit instead; a brief glance was given around first, to gauge whom was the most 'fitting' persona to speak to.
  437.
  438. After all, it's foolish to speak to a spirit that looks agitated.
  439.
  440. "I bid you welcome."
  441.
  442. Almost formal. He didn't really care about it that much, but.. despite the fact that spirits were often neglected, they were also often prideful about their position - after all, they knew their place and purpose in this world.
  443.
  444. To these? It was to maintain this volcano, or at least he figured so.
  445.
  446. "I ask that you share a bit of information regarding this place. Which turns are dangerous, and which are safe? What lies ahead?"
  447.
  448. "And what would you like in return?"
  449.
  450. But.. to those that have no connection to the spirits, and no way to see them? It looks like Keitaro is talking to nowhere.
  451.
  452. Literally to nobody for the rest.
  453. (Keitaro)
  454. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  455.
  456. [20:00] {NARRATION} Every single fire elemental appears to be agitated. Keitaro can see roughly fifteen of them stirring, from the chatter alone. Each looking up to the surface, with hungry, ravenous eyes. The closest spirit that seems worth speaking to is an elemental of magma. By far, the least corrupt, and seemingly less angry.
  457.
  458. Some are correct in their assumptions however, as this many elemental spirits wouldn't typically linger in one domain.
  459.
  460. As the spirit takes a purely physical form, it rises from the lava. Roughly sixteen meters in height, eight in width, while taking the form of a heavy metal turtle.
  461.
  462. "You bid us welcome?" It's voice is deep, and booming. Fitting for a giant.
  463.
  464. Two, glowing yellow orbs fixate on Keitaro, not heeding the others, quiet yet.
  465.
  466. "This entire location, holds danger, dear human. From my brethren, who are stuck here. To the wraith, sealed beneath the lava. There is no safe turn, no right, or wrong. As for what the demons of that past have created? I know nothing. What lies beyond those stairs is a mystery, and I can only make assumptions of their contents."
  467.
  468. It blinks, slow and owlish, seemingly willing to let them know about the dangers and mysteries.
  469.
  470. "If you want more from me, you will have to give me something in return; all I want is freedom for the spirits who do not belong. Grant me this, and I'll grant you something in return."
  471.
  472. It's terms and conditions, are set in stone.
  473. [20:05] That much information was... useful, while vague in its own right, except the location of the wraith sealed beneath the lava. He wasn't even sure how exactly he would get there - unless, the stairs or deeper rooms of volcano would reveal that there are more places to go. But when asked whether he bids them welcome, the Shaman only bows his head briefly, re-affirming his words to the Elemental.
  474.
  475. "I wish no harm upon you, your brethren or your habitat."
  476.
  477. But hearing it speak of the spirits that do not belong, he could already begin guessing. It's either someone else invaded this place, or it would be the wraith that they're speaking about. Needless to say, before he actually agrees to that, it's better to clarify.
  478.
  479. "We're looking for a safe passage, to cross this lava so none of us get hurt."
  480.
  481. "Speak who you wish to be unbound from this place. Tell me who they are and where they are, and it shall be done."
  482.
  483. Surely, the spirit wouldn't charge the ridiculous price for this. At least, he hoped so.
  484. (Keitaro)
  485. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  486.
  487. [20:09] Isaac yawns boredly, and slips his hands behind his head.
  488. (Isaac Shimasu)
  489. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  490.
  491. [20:09] {NARRATION} Soon as Keitaro speaks, half of a metal bridge forms before their eyes. Leading from the staircase, to the center of the lavapool.
  492.
  493. "All of them."
  494.
  495. Dozens of fire elementals rise from the lava, each taking the form of flickering flames. They illuminate the volcano's core, allowing all to see the various runes upon broken walkways.
  496.
  497. "They are stuck, bound here, feeding on the lands. It won't be long, before they become like the other. Free them, before it's too late, and passage is yours."
  498. [20:09] Isaac Shimasu whispers something.
  499. [20:09] Eshmun Hirai asks, "...But how does one free them?"
  500. [20:09] Nyphadora whispers something.
  501. [20:10] Ashalle whispers something.
  502. [20:10] Declan Caelum says, "Maybe an entity is holding them here..."
  503. [20:10] Ashalle whispers something.
  504. [20:10] Tahldrig whispers something.
  505. [20:10] Nochtli Sugar asks, "Could we make a hole, and feed it out to the sea?"
  506. [20:10] Danu Lir says, "An entity, or runes."
  507. [20:10] Ashalle whispers something.
  508. [20:10] Eshmun Hirai says, "The...'wraith' is my guess, that they spoke about."
  509. [20:10] Elyon Hirai says, "Try to... lower the chatter."
  510. [20:11] Elyon just glances about-- surely, the rest of them wouldn't be as friendly as this one.
  511. (Elyon Hirai)
  512. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  513.
  514. [20:11] {NARRATION} "Offering mana, through lifeblood, or other means. Allowing them to return to the otherside."
  515.
  516. What a helpful spirit.
  517. [20:11] Nochtli Sugar says, "..."
  518. [20:11] Declan Caelum whispers something.
  519. [20:11] Keitaro already knew how catharsis works... he wouldn't be a spiritmancer otherwise.
  520. (Keitaro)
  521. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  522.
  523. [20:11] Ahmir Valerius whispers something.
  524. [20:11] Tahldrig whispers something.
  525. [20:11] Elyon Hirai whispers something.
  526. [20:11] Declan Caelum whispers something.
  527. [20:11] Ashalle whispers something.
  528. [20:11] Declan Caelum whispers something.
  529. [20:11] Ahmir Valerius whispers something.
  530. [20:11] Ashalle whispers something.
  531. [20:11] Tahldrig reaches into her doctors bag and pulls out a nice sharp scalpel and holds it towards Declan.
  532. (Tahldrig)
  533. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  534.
  535. [20:11] Danu Lir whispers something.
  536. [20:11] Keitaro whispers something.
  537. [20:12] Danu Lir whispers something.
  538. [20:12] If the hulking magma elemental wasn't enough to bring Tobias to silence, the rest of the spirit entourage was. Yet, the spirit's offering was something that made Tobias raise his voice. He had experienced something similar in the previous expedition.
  539.
  540. "Oh! Blue team had to do a blood sacrifice last time, too.. most of the entire team lined up and offered their blood. That was probably too much of an offering, but we'll probably need to do something along those lines."
  541. (Tobias Ulrich)
  542. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  543.
  544. [20:12] Nochtli Sugar whispers: ...Sima I can't do that again please no-
  545. [20:12] Sima Kang whispers: You don't have to- Let me and the others handle it love.
  546. [20:13] This didn't look well.
  547.
  548. In fact.. it looked like the first danger present. A brief glance is given to Elyon, and it's not too long before he exclaims - in a quiet, hushed tone.
  549.
  550. "Prepare everyone for combat, just in case. I feel those spirits might resist."
  551.
  552. Still, the Shaman makes his way as close as he can to the fire elementals, beckoning them closer. In a clear speech, he addresses to them all.
  553.
  554. "Come forth. I've come to set you free from this place, as you do not belong to the volcano."
  555.
  556. It made sense. After all, it's the magma spirits that should remain here. Before any hostile assumption is made by those spirits, he clarifies.
  557.
  558. "I will lend each and every of you my mana. After that, you're free to return to the other side, and choose a location befitting your nature."
  559. (Keitaro)
  560. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  561.
  562. [20:14] Ashalle says, "You don't have enough mana for that."
  563. [20:14] Ahmir Valerius says, "I say let him give it all."
  564. [20:14] Tobias Ulrich says, "You can't expect to free all of those spirits on your own.. Ashalle is right."
  565. [20:14] Declan Caelum says, "They can take some of mine."
  566. [20:14] Keitaro says, "...Nobody said I'll be offering only my own mana."
  567. [20:14] Keitaro says, "Come, come."
  568. [20:15] Nochtli Sugar says, "...Please no bloodletting. "
  569. [20:15] Aurora Cruor says, "You did say... Each and every one of them, Keitaro. Go on."
  570. [20:15] Aurora Cruor says, "I will cheer for you."
  571. [20:15] Ahmir Valerius says, "Keh.. They ain't promise me shit."
  572. [20:16] Sima Kang whispers: Let us handle this. You'll be fine, Nochtli-- Close your eyes.
  573. [20:16] Ashalle asks, "Volunteering everyone won't do you any favors. What also makes you think that they're telling the truth?"
  574. [20:16] Ashalle says, "...Spirits can lie."
  575. [20:17] Yandir says, "It really is strange that they want to leave. This looks like their 'natural habitat', after all."
  576. [20:17] With little to no fear, Declan moved his dominant right hand to go to the scalpel. His entire palm caressing the sharp edge before an entire thrust forward was enough to cut it open.
  577.
  578. Drip, drip.
  579.
  580. He held his hand out, letting out a simple wince come across his face. He was already angry that everything just smelled so foul, adding on to the pain was better than just letting his senses focus on just that.
  581.
  582. “Well, we can only find out if we try, no?”
  583. (Declan Caelum)
  584. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  585.
  586. [20:17] Keitaro says, "Fire spirits can belong to many other places as well. Still-"
  587. [20:17] Caira Vindict says, "Aurum."
  588. [20:17] Caira coughs under her breath.
  589. (Caira Vindict)
  590. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  591.
  592. [20:17] Keitaro says, "Even if it's dispute over territory, they can have alternatives. Magma spirits do not have any alternatives."
  593. [20:17] The Ookami raised a single hand in objection, immediately turning towards the amalgam of nature, Arkgvunde Vel'heim. "Ark-" she halts her speech, lowering her voice to not needlessly agitate the elementals further.
  594.
  595. "Arkgvunde. Is there a chance of the runes holding either energy we could use, or answers?" He was the only one who she knew for sure was a Runescribe - and an excellent one at that.
  596. (Danu Lir)
  597. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  598.
  599. [20:17] Aurora Cruor asks, "I am sure Obsidia won't do wrong by the spirits, yes. Why would they ever?"
  600. [20:18] Arkgvunde nodded to Keitaro, only to...
  601.
  602. Lower part of their personal entourage of shielding runes to start writing an enchanting circle. A paltry sum of Orichalcum on the Nature amalgam began to break down into raw magical energy - Apparently Arkgvunde has decided that reverse-engineering a rune ritual normally meant for enchanting Magi weapons into an unorthodox area-affecting ritual. The excess Mana product began to fall into the lakes of lava below.
  603.
  604. "On it."
  605. (Arkgvunde Vel'heim)
  606. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  607.
  608. [20:18] Aurora rolls her eyes. If only Ciara could see it...
  609.
  610. Nevertheless, she seems amused and just a bit interested as soon as Declan offers his blood and mana so easily- something was bound to happen now, no?
  611. (Aurora Cruor)
  612. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  613.
  614. [20:18] Keitaro says, "I think it's a little too late to be pulling back on decisions."
  615. [20:18] Keitaro says, "If you have ideas, address them before we actually commit."
  616. [20:19] Keitaro says, "Else we'll keep going in circles."
  617. [20:19] Arkgvunde Vel'heim says, "It's best to have an open escape route. Freeing the Spirits here means there's less risk of the lava overflowing the platforms before we can get out of the lower staircase' cavern area."
  618. [20:20] Keitaro asks, "...Why do you think the boon is the safe passage?"
  619. [20:20] A quick glance would be given to the spirits, before simply shrugging, and reaching down to his belt, and quickly unsheathing his hunting knife. "I've given blood for less."
  620.
  621. The knife would be brought to his palm, and in fluid motion, he'd swipe the blade across his palm, drawing blood.
  622.
  623. "So do we like, pour this blood somewhere specific, or?" He'd ask as he tilted his head to the side, as he pondered where exactly all of this blood would be going.
  624.
  625. Another shrug would be given, as some of the blood from his palm began to drip down towards the ground.
  626. (Saba Sugar)
  627. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  628.
  629. [20:20] Arkgvunde Vel'heim says, "It's not necessarily a boon... But it'd be a helpful side-effect."
  630. [20:21] Rolling his eyes with all the chatter in the background he'd withdraw an arrow from his quiver. Gripping the tip of the arrow's shaft just before its head he'd quickly drag its tip across his right forearm. With a wince he'd grit his teeth, letting the blood pool on out.
  631.
  632. They had to make progress somehow, so might as well do something. What could possibly go wrong?
  633. (Sima Kang)
  634. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  635.
  636. [20:21] "...This isn't something that I would recommend. Remember where we are. Remember what we are here for." She does not necessarily aim to work against him. But she believes that it's foolish to readily give these spirits 'mana' in order to get past. Some could color her cautious...Or perhaps, just a little more brutal than what others might believe...But regardless, she would keep pieces of herself together.
  637.
  638. If the spirits were not malignant then they would disappear after being given what they desire. But what that creature just asked for sounded like nothing more than a mere meal ticket.
  639.
  640. They were hungry.
  641.
  642. And the blood and mana seem mostly like it. However...What Arkgvunde says does make sense. However, as far as participation goes...She would wait. Wait to see what would happen to others before giving.
  643. (Ashalle)
  644. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  645.
  646. [20:21] Tobias stepped up. Not because he wished to actually cut himself and offer his own blood, but to assist the people who did decide to go this route. He approached Declan in particular, his hands hovering over the man's open wound. His palms began to glow.
  647.
  648. "As soon as it begins to look dangerous, I will immediately sear your wound shut with holyfire." he told Declan, nodding. It would be painful, but it would at least ensure that his blood stayed in his body and it wouldn't be life threatening.
  649. (Tobias Ulrich)
  650. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  651.
  652. [20:22] Isaac Shimasu says, "Hmmmhm."
  653. [20:23] Nyphadora says, "Yeah no..."
  654. [20:23] Nyphadora says, "I don't mix well with spirits."
  655. [20:23] Ashalle whispers something.
  656. [20:23] Isaac Shimasu says, "...We should've packed some mid-event snacks, Nyphadora. Opportunities amiss."
  657. [20:23] Isaac Shimasu whispers something.
  658. [20:23] Ahmir Valerius says, "Hmn. All I got is arcanium."
  659. [20:24] Ahmir Valerius says, "Ya' can chew on that, Isaac."
  660. [20:24] With Tobias approaching, Declan nodded and spoke in his deep voice. He was still wincing, not really liking the pain that was in his palm. If there were anything that would get into it, it would definitely make it worse;
  661.
  662. “That sounds like it will be both hot, but soothing at the same time. I have been burned before by a belial cultist, and it wasn’t pretty. But in the worse case scenario, prepare that flame with your finger tip, alright?”
  663.
  664. Great, more pain. Though it was going to help them in the long run simply because infections and him were not good together.
  665. (Declan Caelum)
  666. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  667.
  668. [20:25] A couple blinks follow suit at the Shenlong's latter statement there, though the further clarification merely makes him narrow that gaze ever so slightly, but he'd nod nonetheless. Words are hushed enough when they escape.
  669.
  670. "They're... not really wrong-- so far things upon these isles have been anything but trusting. We're not going to offer anything, or try to release them in bulk... you can attempt upon individual elementals, however, to begin with... and if the catharsis actually takes place and such is their intention, then--"
  671.
  672. A lighter shrug, and those ocean hues drift past yet once again. Keitaro already... well, called them over. A hand casually shifts closer to the cursed relic's hilt there-- should the spirits opt to turn hostile out of nowhere.
  673.
  674.
  675. (Elyon Hirai)
  676. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  677.
  678. [20:25] Ashalle says, "Guess who thought ahead..."
  679. [20:25] Ashalle smirk. Heh.
  680. (Ashalle)
  681. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  682.
  683. [20:26] The arcanium didn't sound particularly appetizing, but when Ashalle offers him salted park -- well, it'd be rude to refuse. With an amused, faint smirk, he lifts the jerky up in a 'cheers' gesture and digs in.
  684. (Isaac Shimasu)
  685. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  686.
  687. [20:26] Isaac Shimasu says, "Not bad."
  688. [20:26] Tahldrig nods her head after waiting for Elyon's view on things. The other could offer blood, but last time.. there was way too much blood offered, this time perhaps they'd be more sparing.
  689. (Tahldrig)
  690. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  691.
  692. [20:27] {NARRATION} It pays no mind to those that have doubts. It couldn't blame them. It had it's own doubts. Doubts they'd be able to free it's brethren, doubts that they'd make it out alive. Doubting, that much like the others who descended those stairs...
  693.
  694. They wouldn't be returning.
  695.
  696. Several of the elementals draw closer to Keitaro, staring at him with hungry, judging eyes.
  697.
  698. Ark, Declan, Sima.
  699.
  700. Roll.
  701. [20:27] Tobias Ulrich says, "It is.. somewhat painful, yes. Better than the infections it prevents, though. And, it's quick."
  702. [20:27] Ahmir Valerius says, "She put bugs in it.."
  703. [20:27] {NARRATION} Saba, roll.
  704. [20:34] {NARRATION} Arkgvunde manages to supply a great deal of the spirits with an abundance of mana, from his very successful ritual. At least twelve of the elementals begin to glow, fading into the spirit realm, without the fear of becoming wraiths.
  705.
  706. Three lesser elementals fade before the shamans eyes, as Declan's blood is enough to suffice. With the painful healing that follows, he's lucky enough to make this offering relatively unscathed.
  707.
  708. A powerful elemental latches onto Sima, draining an absurd amount of blood, before fading into the ether.
  709.
  710. /powerdown, ten vit
  711.
  712. Saba, however, makes a temporary contract with the most powerful fire elemental among the horde. It latches onto him, enjoying the taste of his mana. Flames wrap around the man, lightly singing his flesh, cauterizing the wound in the process. While the exorcism is a success...
  713.
  714. It isn't one that is made, without sacrifice.
  715.
  716. Saba, step forward and take your perm.
  717.
  718. With the elementals gone, the magma beast follows through with it's deal, creating a massive bridge to the winding staircase. It dives deep into the pool of lava, and a rumbling begins to commence. The pool of lava begins to bubble, and boil, threatening to consume their bridge.
  719.
  720. Offering them no time to tend to Saba's wound.
  721. [20:37] "..."
  722.
  723. While most of the ritual goes more or less well, it's clear to him that Saba becomes injured throughout the ordeal. Thankfully though, the magma spirit actually followed through with its deal, and they could make it to the staircase.
  724.
  725. "We should get going."
  726.
  727. "Also... I hate to be that guy, but you didn't really have to offer blood. Mana should've sufficed - and you would probably suffer less as result."
  728.
  729. "Even the spirit said that the mana will do.."
  730.
  731. A shake of his head. That'd have to wait - instead, he gestures for the rest of the group to follow. The bridge is something that would not last forever.
  732. (Keitaro)
  733. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  734.
  735. [20:38] As soon as Declan began to show any signs of major fatigue, Tobias quickly and without warning started the healing process. Before the man could even finish yelping from the searing pain from his holyfire, the painful healing was already finished. His skin was burned, forcibly closing the wound through cauterization.
  736.
  737. It wasn't all bad, though. As Declan predicted, the effects of holy magic began to wash over the area. Where it was initially a sharp pain, the suffering began to dull out very quickly as he was imbued with a soothing feeling. It definitely helped that Declan was a holy mage himself.
  738.
  739. "You should be safe to keep going. You didn't lose enough blood for it to be a concern." he told Declan.
  740. (Tobias Ulrich)
  741. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  742.
  743. [20:40] With Arkgvunde's rune ritual over and done with...
  744.
  745. ...and a few people offering blood, or something to that effect...
  746.
  747. The Demon decided to pre-emptively walk away, back towards the spot where the party had noted a stairwell and extra cavern entrance. Arkgvunde is decidedly unphased by some other party members getting damaged - After all, it was kind of unavoidable when everyone was standing directly over a pit of lava. Even if their chieftain was magically injured by contact with one of the bigger Spirits present.
  748.
  749. It's going to be a bit before their rune reserves recharged.
  750. (Arkgvunde Vel'heim)
  751. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  752.
  753. [20:40] She was right not to offer any of her blood, wasn't she?
  754.
  755. The demi-angel's wings begin to flutter just as the magma reminds the group that it was still, very much present. Still, threatening them just by bubbling... Arcanium might be sturdy enough to suffer this heat, but humans weren't.
  756.
  757. A single step, and then more follow. Aurora seems to hold no qualms with moving on.
  758.
  759. "Ah, yes. Let's move on. No time to cry about spilled milk, or I suppose... Blood, in this case."
  760. (Aurora Cruor)
  761. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  762.
  763. [20:41] Once again, she had grossly overestimated the islands defences.
  764.
  765. But then there was that rumble from beneath the magma, each bubble growing larger than the last. And with that, she was by no means planning to be one of those staying behind once it truly took steam.
  766.
  767. The Ookami took off into a sudden sprint, heading for the walkway. Her fire-aspected mana tore at the air before her, moving aside both smog and most of the unwarranted heat. Even if she were to trigger some kind of trap, it would hopefully be better than whichever fate awaited by staying here for too long.
  768.
  769. As for the pork-munchers in the back that had done little to nothing in assisting the team? It would surely be remembered.
  770.
  771. (Danu Lir)
  772. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  773.
  774. [20:41] Yandir frowned, and his concern for the Ezmaran chieftain showed- of course, as Keitaro said, perhaps a boon of mana would've sufficed. But was it any good for morale to point things out in such a manner? The young man thought not.
  775.
  776. He casts a finger forward, as if to attempt and deny the Shaman's rebuke.
  777.
  778. "Who is to say it was not his blood that appeased to them the most? Were it not for that, perhaps we would remain stuck, and this bridge would have not come to be."
  779.
  780. "Do not fret, Saba. You did what was necessary. Carry this close to your heart with pride."
  781. (Yandir)
  782. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  783.
  784. [20:41] Wow, Tobias was effective as he was amusing. In that very instance of time, the entirety of the scorching, holy fire was enough to satiate the wound and make it a simple straight line of burning. It didn’t even hurt that bad, which was rather amusing to say the least.
  785.
  786. A simple shake of his hand and the remaining blood that was there would go away, the only thing to follow was to see what bevelled Saba, Spirits. Not only was he going to suffer another injury, but he was able to live through it.
  787.
  788. A deep sigh ensued and his voice raised just above a whisper as the judgement of Keitaro came out;
  789.
  790. “Look, dude...I didn’t hear the entire message, and I’m used to soothing spirits with blood. Though, next time, I should just use mana.” That being said, he continued to look at Keitaro for guidance. “What now?”
  791. (Declan Caelum)
  792. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  793.
  794. [20:41] Requiem is almost pulled out of its sheathe when the elementals close the distance-- although the deal in itself appeared to be... truth, to say the least. Even so; it didn't come without its sacrifices.
  795.
  796. A bit of grimace touches the Hirai's features as wounds appear across his Chieftain's form all the while-- even if he can't particularly see who, or what is causing it. A single step is instinctively taken forward, although Tobias is moment quicker, applying what could loosely be referred as sort of first aid.
  797.
  798. A brief glance spared in the bridge's direction, and then the Warchief nods. Saba was strong, he knew as much-- the Ezmaran could take it, and push through it.
  799.
  800. "Let's get across before it's too late-- Tobias, support Saba if he has issues moving, or so."
  801.
  802. With that, faster steps are taken across the only path available, motioning the rest of the unit to push along.
  803. (Elyon Hirai)
  804. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  805.
  806. [20:41] All they had to do was put up their fair share. This was fine! Holding a rather eerie smile with all things considered those light blue hues glance about towards the few others that join in.
  807.
  808. A shame that he couldn't see most elementals lest they fully form before him.
  809.
  810. There's an internal scream that's stifled, however, as an elemental grabs hold and drains a heavy amount of blood from the Kang. Looking far more paler than usual he'd hold a strained smile. This was fine! Everything was just. Fine.
  811. (Sima Kang)
  812. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  813.
  814. [20:43] It isn't a sacrifice if nothing is lost, of course. Though the way the grin lingered to him was an indicator that the demi-angel expected something more, but he is content enough with simply being able to journey on -- and not have to face an army of ultra-durable death golems to do so.
  815.
  816. "Blood is mana, the purest form," Isaac decides to correct, having firsthand experience with nurturing his rubies in the lifeflow that runs through all, "A fine choice for them. It would be...particularly dull to offer less, as your spirit whisper suggested."
  817.
  818. "Why, if I were a hungry spirit, I would reject anything less," he goes on to say, somewhat amused by the antics of tonight.
  819.
  820. Stepping forward, Isaac continued to trail behind the group.
  821. (Isaac Shimasu)
  822. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  823.
  824. [20:43] Isaac Shimasu says, "whisperer*"
  825. [20:45] Watching the ordeal take place, eyes keeping a healthy watch upon the physically manifested elemental, hues saw blood given, mana poured out. It was actually quite interesting, letting him learn more about spirits and how to help them pass along out of situations like these.
  826.
  827. With no qualms brought to the raised bridge, he began making his own way forth, "I agree, let's make our way before this thing ends up falling right back into the lava." So they did, all the while watching the space around them in mild curiosity.
  828.
  829. Eshmun wondered what was past the most expensive stairs in all of Eternia?
  830. (Eshmun Hirai)
  831. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  832.
  833. [20:45] A mild frown is given back at Isaac. He didn't particularly enjoy the commentary he was giving, and as such, there's a quick word spoken back at him.
  834.
  835. "I'll make sure to offer them to bash at their doors unprotected next time instead, as your suggestions are definitely the best."
  836.
  837. A huff. Anyway..
  838.
  839. "What now? We just go through bridge. This isn't going to last forever, so get going."
  840. (Keitaro)
  841. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  842.
  843. [20:45] "Hmh." It was expected to some degree. That others would be unnaturally burned to the core...Features fine-tuned to a crisp for offering themselves as a 'meal' for the spirits. She...Didn't know, however, that they could move on by simply offering mana. Although, while this may be a learning experience...It is also one that proved her first instincts of distrusting these creatures were 'wrong'...
  844.
  845. Nevertheless...
  846.
  847. She obliges with Eshmun's statement, opting to move forward rather than 'wait'.
  848. (Ashalle)
  849. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  850.
  851. [20:45] For one reason or another, one of, if not the strongest fire elemental of the group took an interest in the chieftain. Probably something to do with him being a rather potent fire mage.
  852.
  853. Blood had been offered to the elemental, but it seems as if the creature would simply use that blood to form a temporary pact with him. Which was unexpected, but not entirely unwelcomed. Well for now anyways, the moment it's flames latch onto the chieftain.
  854.
  855. Well to say the least it's rather unpleasant.
  856.
  857. More, and more of his mana was drained by the being, as the flames began to sear him, burning not only his skin, but his beautiful blue and green feathers.
  858.
  859. Once the elemental was sated with his mana, it'd simply fade away and depart towards the spirit realm, or wherever it wish to go.
  860.
  861. Yet he wasn't in pain right now, in fact he felt... Great! The pain would surely come later, but right now he felt amazing! Almost as if the damn thing had managed to empower him, ever so slightly.
  862.
  863. "Bah, I'll be fine, it's just a couple burns, and some spilled blood." He'd shrug, before facing the newly formed bridge. "Right, shall we continue?"
  864. (Saba Sugar)
  865. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  866.
  867. [20:46] Her fists clench as both Saba and Sima make their offerings and suffer from it, everyone else who had made it through safe.. but of course, not her best friend.. never her best friend, his luck is horrid.
  868.
  869. She can take a look at Sima once they get across and everyone else is safe, Saba will have to come first assuming one of the other doctors doesn't get to him first, he looks like he'd be fine though.
  870.
  871. She follows along with the rest of the group to hastily make her way across the soon to be submerged bridge.
  872. (Tahldrig)
  873. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  874.
  875. [20:46] Tobias Ulrich says, ".. Yes, let's. I'm sorry I couldn't divide my attention to heal you both, Saba."
  876. [20:46] Saba Sugar says, "Bah, I'll manage."
  877. [20:46] Saba Sugar says, "Thank you though."
  878. [20:46] Well, Ahmir should have anticipated a bit of greed from those that'd supposedly been trapped within this construct. A quiet breath leaves the Valerius, though with the narrowing of his gaze one could presume that he'd at least learned how things would be from here on.
  879.
  880. "Onwards.."
  881.
  882. The potential of losing pieces of himself for the sake of moving forward seemed far too cheap, so of course he'd be even more reluctant to give in to another being's 'circumstances'.
  883. (Ahmir Valerius)
  884. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  885.
  886. [20:52] Nochtli Sugar whispers: Fucking hel-
  887. [20:52] Nochtli Sugar whispers: Sima, you good?
  888. [20:52] Sima Kang whispers: Yeah-- Yeah... I'll be fine, dear, don't worry.
  889. [20:57] {NARRATION} It takes hours, to walk down this winding staircase.
  890.
  891. As the descend, the atmosphere begins to slowly shift. From hot, to warm, to mildly comfortable, to cold. Very, very cold. Icy winds push up the stairs, until they final reach the bottom. Standing before a cracked open door. Made of nothing more, than mahogany wood.
  892.
  893. Once one peeks inside...
  894.
  895. They'll see an expansive hallway. Above, are flickering lights, a sign that the power source within is nearly depleted. To the left, and to the right, are several strange machines. Several human sized capsules, with a swirling mass of energy within.
  896.
  897. In the center of the room lies a pillar, with an interface. Several wires stretch across the floor, connected to each capsule. The three on the left, radiate different hues.
  898.
  899. One red, with heat radiating from it. One blue, pushing forth a cold chill. One brown, with leaves and vines forming a lattice over the capsule.
  900.
  901. On the left side of the screens interface, there are a few numbers, and notes.
  902.
  903. "Bond of flames, success rate, low. Death rate, mediocre.
  904. Oceans embrace, success rate, low. Death rate, mediocre.
  905. Earths aegis, success rate, low. Death rate, mediocre."
  906.
  907. There are two machines, to the right, both filled to the brim with a dark, corrupting energy. Two swirling orbs, crystals filled with darkness darker than dark, rest above the capsule.
  908.
  909. "Confined to the shadows. Success rate: impossible. Death rate: High."
  910.
  911. Nestled between the flickering lights, lies a shard of the spires, surrounded by various runes. These runes fuel leylines, connected to the capsules, and interface. The runescribes can easily tell that attempting to remove the shard, before most of the machines have served their purpose.
  912.
  913. ...
  914.
  915. Will result in an explosion, likely killing everyone within.
  916. [20:58] Ashalle goes for the spireshard. fuck living.
  917. (Ashalle)
  918. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  919.
  920. [20:59] {NARRATION} Upon inspecting the human sized capsules, there seems to be a seat. Almost like it's meant for someone to open the hatch, and sit inside.
  921.
  922. At their own discretion, of course.
  923. [21:03] Aurora seems to be relieved that they've reached the next room. How couldn't she be? They just escaped what was bound to turn to an explosive party - and this room felt just... A tad more welcoming. Or just a bit less threatening.
  924.
  925. Both of those options pleased her.
  926.
  927. Pale blue eyes travel to Keitaro just before a couple of blinks occur. "Are there any spirits around to guide us this time?" She asks, half-seriously... And half-jokingly.
  928.
  929. A part of the demi-angel did hope for a spirit to reveal itself and offer them some aid.
  930. (Aurora Cruor)
  931. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  932.
  933. [21:04] Declan reads out the runes as loud as he could, making sure not to miss a single word or letter. His hand moved to his chin as he squinted his eyes to focus;
  934.
  935. “'The place will explode is the shard is fucked with.' Huh, how convenient, someone really doesn’t want us to get the shard.” He said, almost too calmly. Something in his voice was screaming that he was more than happy to go forth, fuck with it, kill everyone here.
  936.
  937. But, he didn’t, instead, he looks at the capsule that could suit one person. Just his size, he could, perhaps, go in it, but he didn’t want to.
  938.
  939. “Right, so, anyone want to test if it is possible to get it without dying?”
  940. (Declan Caelum)
  941. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  942.
  943. [21:04] An unpleasing sensation takes over the magi, her eyes finally meeting with something other than their long path that took hours frrom the previous, strange but hopefully non lethal meeting. Hand over her chest, as if trying to grap on her own heart, trying to keep herself struggling on the trail.
  944.
  945. These machines, everything was so confusing and were for sure out of her space and that could be told over a simple sight to those objects, capsules, their writting... It was all 'evil', she saw it all as the disgusting creation of the ancient evil kin.
  946.
  947. In fact, just staying here was a bad idea in her mind, even tho, obviously the Smith would not hold back. What mostly took her atention were the human sized capsules in the distance, approaching them, the Smith would be careful enough not to touch any, even feeling for sure tempted.
  948.
  949. "This is disgusting... Look at these capsules. Reminds me of the Archon frmro the previous Blue expedition, so they really did experiments with humans. I don't even wanna know what these are for." She refered to the capsules, while still looking at them very unpleased.
  950. (Iral Woodnshire)
  951. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  952.
  953. [21:04] Cold and dark.
  954.
  955. It's an odd contrast between the volcano they were having just a moment ago, and apparently what looks like a lab in here. Though.. simply putting someone inside the machinery as 'sacrifice lamb' was simply out of the option - he didn't wish to be the one who does it, nor he thinks anyone else here was willing to do that.
  956.
  957. Besides, there were machines on each side. Machines that no doubt were meaning to bring about sacrifice.
  958.
  959. "Seems those on the left are connected to different elements - fire, water and earth."
  960.
  961. "Those to the right are definitely Occult, but.."
  962.
  963. A pause. What they could possibly do here? Sacrifice of lives wasn't an option no matter what. So instead...
  964.
  965. "Perhaps we should disable machines instead?"
  966.
  967. "You know. Rather than snatch the shard, just like bad things happened the last time someone reached out to it immediately, we disable allmachinery first - in particular, starting with wires and whatnot."
  968.
  969. And yet, another comment he viewed as sassy. A frown, and he turned to Aurora.
  970.
  971. "I don't know, Aurora. Feel free to step into machine - I'm sure you'll become a spirit and you could offer us guidance."
  972.
  973. Still, a sigh spills forth. He may throw such remarks back and forth between the demi-angel like that, but.. one thing is right, he actually wouldn't mind contacting a spirit around here.
  974.
  975. "...I actually don't know. I can try, but no promises."
  976. (Keitaro)
  977. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  978.
  979. [21:05] Ahmir crosses his arms, a glance back towards Ashalle made then.
  980.
  981. It was quite obvious that the Valerius may have been somewhat interested in crudely involving himself in the many contraptions this place had to offer.
  982.
  983. "Just sit in th' fuckin' machine of ya' choosin'. Perhaps it'll be good for ya'. Or is anyone actually so scared as ta' not subject themselves ta' a bit of exploring?"
  984.
  985. He taps the dark gem upon his chest, some laughter having escaped the Gehennan as he waited for their decision.
  986. (Ahmir Valerius)
  987. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  988.
  989. [21:05] This was going to be a wild ride...
  990.
  991. First the hours that they descended the staircase.
  992.
  993. And then the chill.
  994.
  995. Spotting the capsules, Celestine inspects them, hoping to find out whatever the hell they were before approaching or doing any sort of action. They were human sized, with a seat becoming the party to each one of the capsules.
  996.
  997. She's instantly attracted to the ones with vines. Perhaps this was her calling? Maybe a further inspection wouldn't hurt. Her obsession with the natural world wasn't just going to stop at picking flowers and growing all sorts of stuff. No, no, it ran much deeper than that.
  998.
  999. "These.. pods. Call me crazy but all I want is to keep everyone from dying even if the thought frightens me. Seeing as those pods look like they could fit someone inside.. Mhh. I am both an earth mage, a nature mage, and a dryad. I could be a good fit."
  1000.
1001. That was all she said.
  1002. (Celestine Elisheva)
  1003. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1004.
1005. [21:06] Caira Vindict says, ".. That's good. That's more than good, actually."
1006. [21:06] Arkgvunde stepped into the expansive hall. They were expecting something else.
  1007.
  1008. ...
  1009.
1010. A random Spire Shard machine wasn't their first idea for something to be put in the heart of a volcano.
  1011.
1012. The Demon stated to the rest of the group,
  1013.
1014. "Looks like a protective puzzle is guarding the Shard cluster, based on the present magics..."
  1015.
1016. "...If I had to hazard a guess, those capsules will leech the corresponding Mana from the right Archon type-- Or, in this case, Magi. It's impossible to tell how much it'll drain an ordinary person though. Too bad i'm too big to sit in the Earth- and Nature-themed one."
  1017.
1018. It didn't talk about the Occult-infused side of the machinery. Perhaps they'd assumed tampering with that part of it was a foregone conclusion, even if Ark might have subliminally desired to feast on the Mana within.
  1019. (Arkgvunde Vel'heim)
  1020. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1021.
1022. [21:06] Caira Vindict says, "The vines around the earthen one.. It could be either, so-"
1023. [21:06] Hours pass by until they finally get up the winding staircase, Tahldrig wasn't going to waste her mana, so she calmly walked up the steps, leaving her a bit out of breath at the top. Likely along side everyone else.
  1024.
1025. Fire, ineffective.. water ineffective, earth ineffective.. what about wind? Why was there no mention of winds?
  1026.
1027. "No notes about wind magic present.. odd." she says just in case anyone missed that. Could the notes have been attempts at fusing something with something else?
  1028.
1029. She's not one to really lead anything here, there are others better suited for that than a book nerd.
  1030.
  1031. Would anyone risk it?
  1032.
1033. "Fire.. water.. and earth all lead to a low success and medium death rate.. call ME crazy.. but what if we tried a wind magi or lightning magi?"
  1034. (Tahldrig)
  1035. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1036.
1037. [21:07] Arkgvunde Vel'heim asks, "What good would striking a bolt of Lightning on a volcano do?"
1038. [21:07] Ahmir Valerius whispers something.
1039. [21:07] Cold, her least favourite thing in this world right after bad cheese and sour milk.
  1040.
1041. Arms tightly wrapped around her own body as the group descended, rubbing her arms to maintain some form of heat. Even if she was a fire magi, carelessly wasting her energy on something like this or-- even worse-- attracting unwanted attention could quickly end up being far worse than the abundance of heat.
  1042.
1043. Her eyes curiously glanced at each of the displays, a real magnificent showmanship of Illyotia's long-lost technology. Declan's words had already sated her curiosity about the core, but the rest?
  1044.
1045. She hadn't really much words to offer at all. They would most likely need to be tampered with in one way or the other if they wished to free the shard, but -
  1046.
1047. Tahldrig may be onto something.
  1048. (Danu Lir)
  1049. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1050.
1051. [21:07] Aurora Cruor says, "Hm, hm. If those were designed for archons... I doubt a single magi would suffice."
1052. [21:07] When you get tired of walking... There are always daemons capable of carrying you along the way. And she doesn't seem to mind riding upon the back of her frospup as they move...Gentle vines of nature coiled about, as if she could possibly 'stow' it at any second while sitting leisurely upon the back. There was little reason for her to tire herself out....However, what seems to lead to the most curiosity are the risks involved within the seats. SCreens and numbers. Notes.
  1053.
1054. "...This is for people to bond to their elements." Fire. Water. Earth. It seemed as if this would be the chance for people to become something more than what they would've asked for...No? But considering the fact that this energy is present, she imagines that it'd turn them into something otherworldly. Something completely different..
  1055.
1056. But the question is who would risk their life for it?
  1057. And...If it's mandatory.
  1058.
1059. Either way...Being confined to the shadows is not something that even she would suspect anyone would want. For now though, it just makes her hum...
  1060.
1061. "Experiments, maybe? Is there more notes on the computers?" She murmurs, looking for...A little more information.
  1062.
  1063. (Ashalle)
  1064. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1065.
1066. [21:08] Keitaro says, "Part of me thinks we could just try disabling machines first."
1067. [21:08] Keitaro says, "So there's nothing to explode once shard is removed."
  1068. [21:08] Keitaro says, "But-"
1069. [21:08] It was a strange transition, going from lava hot to ice cold. One that was actually shrugged off by the temperature magi, since he was able to regulate his body temperature fairly easily. Entering through the mahogany door, looking throughout however, a light brightened in his eyes.
  1070.
1071. "Azrael be damned, look at all this Illyothian tech! Got interfaces, capsules, wires everywhere...It's practically in mint condition as well, I bet Ardith would have loved to come here." Sure enough, upon entering, they began restlessly moving throughout the room, staring at everything, yet not touching.
  1072.
1073. After all the man was a scholar, not a fool. Banging against the unknown would just end up with death, which is also why when he looked at the spire shard that was covered in runes...He backed away.
  1074.
1075. "Bond of flames, Oceans Embrace, Aegis...It definitely is talkingabout the capsules, but I'm wondering what eactly the death rate for everything means exactly. Are they items that when used kill the user, or are the-...Wait, I already figured it out."
  1076.
1077. Their eyes landed onto the one open capsules with chairs, "Looks like these are definitely capsules meant to mess with a human, probably...Enhance them, which is fairly wonderful. This tech is pleasing." They looked to the nearby interfaces, read them over before taking a place in front of the Oceans Embrace capsule.
  1078.
1079. "I'm up for trying this thing...Also Tah, this isn't a puzzle, it's literal testing, the spire shard will end up just being a third-party thing from it all."
  1080. (Eshmun Hirai)
  1081. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1082.
1083. [21:08] Keitaro says, "That can also horribly backfire."
1084. [21:08] Keitaro says, "You know- there are wires all over after all."
1085. [21:08] Keitaro asks, "What else can explode if there's no connection between machines and shard?"
  1086. [21:08] Ashalle says, "I suppose I've a daemon. Perhaps..We could test it."
1087. [21:08] Declan Caelum says, "If we touch the shard, we will all die. If we disable the wires wrong, we might also die. If we decide to do nothing, then this would be a waste of time. We could try what Tahldrig and Ark said and have the people who utilize such elements go in their own thing...or that."
1088. [21:09] Tobias Ulrich says, "I could go in, if needed."
1089. [21:09] Iral Woodnshire says, "Enchance? Enslaving i'd say..."
1090. [21:09] Eshmun Hirai says, "I'm up for trying the Oceanse Embrace labeled one, could be something...Also the runes could suddenly have a sudden surge, or hold back of a power, that would end up making that shard explode."
1091. [21:09] Saba tilted his head to the side as they finally arrive at the end of the hallway. A sigh of relief would escape from his lips, as they made their way through the mahogany door, and on the other side of it was something rather peculiar!
  1092.
1093. A strange lab filled with a bunch of fancy, and complicated things, things that he clearly didn't understand. Oh well, he'd be fine... Probably. He'd continue to scan around the room until his gaze eventually landed on the three capsules.
  1094.
1095. One for ice, one for nature, and one for fire. Welp, clearly it was time for him to sit in the fire capsule... Thing.
  1096.
1097. "Right, well I have a whole lot of fire magic, so if you guys want, I could go sit down in that thing to see what happens." Best to ask before going through with it.
  1098. (Saba Sugar)
  1099. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1100.
1101. [21:09] Eshmun Hirai says, "Which would kill us."
1102. [21:09] Ahmir Valerius says, "I almost thought ya' was referrin' ta' me for a second."
1103. [21:09] Nochtli Sugar says, "Yeah- I have quite a bit of water-"
1104. [21:09] Danu Lir asks, "Are you sure, Saba? Aren't you injured from before?"
1105. [21:09] Arkgvunde Vel'heim asks, "What's more concerning to me at the moment is... How would this machine even connect to the volcano?"
1106. [21:09] Celestine Elisheva says, "Like I said, I'd be willing to go into the one covered with vines, seeing as I hold an aptitude with all of those, as well as being a Dryad."
1107. [21:09] Saba Sugar says, "Bah, I'm fine."
1108. [21:09] Nochtli Sugar says, "Dad, I woudn't have you go."
1109. [21:09] Danu Lir says, "Let me, instead - if we are doing it."
1110. [21:09] Iral Woodnshire says, "...Saba dude, you're getting yourself killed."
1111. [21:09] Eshmun Hirai says, "Well."
1112. [21:09] Iral Woodnshire says, "Don't fucking do it."
1113. [21:09] Danu Lir says, "But what concerns me is... that other thing."
  1114. [21:09] Iral Woodnshire says, "...That's a baaad idea..."
1115. [21:09] Danu Lir asks, "'Confined to the shadows', huh?"
1116. [21:09] Saba Sugar says, "Listen, I'll be fine."
1117. [21:09] Iral Woodnshire says, "Indeed."
1118. [21:09] Saba Sugar exclaims, "I feel great!"
1119. [21:09] Nochtli Sugar says, "Dad, -no-."
1120. [21:09] Ashalle says, "Someone will have to sit in the blackseat."
1121. [21:09] Ahmir Valerius says, "Hmn. You."
1122. [21:09] Ashalle looks to Ahmir.
  1123. (Ashalle)
  1124. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1125.
1126. [21:10] Long, somewhat draining trek, and though he didn't know how many minutes-- hours passed by, he'd remain quiet for most part, until a door appears before them, that is, bringing forth a bit of upward quirk in his eyebrows-- still no words, however.
  1127.
1128. Further in, and it's a hallway-- manmade, certainly... or, well, whatever created these might just be quite a good bit more advanced than anything humanity can muster. Ocean hues gaze past, from the capsules, to the pillar at center, and all the wires in-between.
  1129.
1130. Three capsules-- each representing different elements, or rather; form of magic. By it pyres, frost, or biomancy. Taking yet another step further, he'd narrow those eyes, reading past the notes present.
  1131.
1132. As... morbid as those implications were; all of them appeared similar barring the names; with a low success rate, and a mediocre likelihood of death. Whatever that meant--
  1133.
1134. Declan's words do bring forth a bit of grimace, however.
  1135.
1136. "...feel free to, Kei, though doubt we're lucky enough for that in this shitty place.
  1137.
1138. Such would be pushing it, but his gaze flickers in Ark's direction soon after.
  1139.
1140. "Pretty much... would be a waste of time otherwise-- though actually having someone volunteer. We have three fire mages, a bunch of hydromancers, and a few adept at biomancy, it..."
  1141.
  1142. A sigh, then, before he'd continue.
  1143.
  1144. (Elyon Hirai)
  1145. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1146.
1147. [21:10] Caira takes in a deep breath and assesses the scene. Inside there were capsules, like human chambers with a seat on the inside. Someone was meant to go into it and sit down.. It looked like one big puzzle to siphon and drain someone's energy.
  1148.
1149. "No. I think trying to disable, or put things where they don't go, is absolutely going to ruin everything here. I don't know about any of you, but I think if we try and outsmart the -literal- Illyothans, everyone here is going to go kaput."
  1150.
1151. She looks to each machine and points things out. "We should take it slow and see what fits where. An earth, maybe even a nature magi in the one that requests it... A water magi, maybe even an ice magi in the chilled one.. Fire where it needs to go."
  1152.
1153. She points a finger at the final one, the one deemed impossible - And she frowns.
  1154.
1155. "It's obviously for Occult, but.. I don't like the warning labels on it."
  1156. (Caira Vindict)
  1157. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1158.
1159. [21:10] While everyone is bickering, with a smile on his face, they placed their body right in front of the Oceanse embrace, looking upon the other, "I've already decided to sit in this one...At least it's only mediocre chance of death, not like the embrace of shadows one."
  1160. (Eshmun Hirai)
  1161. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1162.
1163. [21:10] Nochtli Sugar says, "Sima and I are both Ice magi."
1164. [21:10] Nochtli Sugar says, "I'm in a little better shape, though."
1165. [21:10] Ahmir Valerius says, "Ain't none of ya' payin' me enough ta' die."
1166. [21:10] Sima Kang says, "D'oh... I can handle it."
1167. [21:10] Eshmun Hirai says, "I am an Ice magi."
1168. [21:11] Elyon Hirai asks, "...it's frosty, much like you, but... are you really that frickin eager, Esh?"
1169. [21:11] Eshmun Hirai says, "Ice, Steam, overall water expertise."
1170. [21:11] Declan Caelum says, "We have two earth magi, a bunch of water magi, two fire magi...hm."
1171. [21:11] Eshmun Hirai says, "Ely."
1172. [21:11] Eshmun Hirai says, "It's Illyothian tech."
1173. [21:11] Elyon Hirai asks, "And...?"
1174. [21:11] Eshmun Hirai says, "This stuff is amazing, I'm already having a great time just seeing all this."
1175. [21:11] Sima Kang says, "If I'm needed in a machine just-- Point me at it. Though it's bound to do some wild stuff."
1176. [21:11] This had to be a place of death, right?
  1177.
1178. There are writings about 'chance of death', so someone was bound to die within those walls. While the rest could be simply searching about other clues, what Shaman does is perhaps his best - and that's trying to reach out to any dead in this place.
  1179.
1180. Provided there are any at all. The Shenlong walks about, checking the area, perhaps even trying to lure in a wandering spirit by the presence of mana...
  1181.
1182. Who knows what he can find?
  1183. (Keitaro)
  1184. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1185.
1186. [21:11] Ahmir Valerius whispers something.
1187. [21:11] Iral Woodnshire says, "Hm..."
1188. [21:11] Tahldrig says, "Isn't Illyothian tech primarily designed for archons.. I don't think just one of us will do much."
1189. [21:11] Eshmun Hirai says, "Part of my and Ardiths research is all about evolution, such as these things."
1190. [21:12] Arkgvunde Vel'heim says, "That moment when there was a perfect time to check if this was a machine for adding more elements to Archons but there aren't any Archons in the group. Whoops."
1191. [21:12] Ashalle says, "Just wait until we can tell what all of this is for..."
  1192. [21:12] Ashalle says, "I'm sure there's more information."
1193. [21:12] Sima Kang says, "It's not just archons, Tahl, it's for demons and such in general."
  1194. [21:12] Iral Woodnshire says, "She's right."
1195. [21:12] Ashalle Says while looking about.
  1196. (Ashalle)
  1197. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1198.
1199. [21:12] Eshmun Hirai says, "Which is exactly why I'm waiting until everything is done, before sitting down."
1200. [21:12] She hadn't done a whole lot of good during the last expedition, which meant she might as well step up right now. A hand placed itself onto the Sugar Chieftain's shoulder, pushing herself past him.
  1201.
1202. "I wouldn't object if you were uninjured, but with both an injury and a family member protesting?" She shook her head. "Stay down and allow us to handle it, please."
  1203. (Danu Lir)
  1204. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1205.
  1206. [21:14] Tahldrig whispers something.
1207. [21:14] Declan Caelum whispers something.
1208. [21:15] Elyon Hirai says, "Regardless, it says chance of death os moderate-- even if one doesn't end up dead, it doesn't mean they'd unscathed. You're already injured, Chief, so, yeah. It'd be crazy to let you."
1209. [21:15] Saba Sugar says, "I can handle myself, a little injury won't stop me."
1210. [21:15] {NARRATION} Each of the orbs shine bright, and appear to be coating, and pushing forth the power of their respective element. Ashalle's assumption is correct. There seems to be frantic scribbling on a few sticky notes, plastered all over one of the capsules to the right.
  1211.
1212. Getting too close would fill one with a thrumming, potent occult sensation, but...
  1213.
1214. "Do no use, defective. Spirit sealing rate, .01 percent. All of the umbrals who've tried to bond, had died. Do not touch. Bad luck. Bad news. Do not disable. Will unseal the nethradin. Ignore it. Defective."
  1215.
1216. The interface begins to light up, and the three capsules to the left unhinge. Allowing one to take a seat, should they choose.
  1217.
1218. One of the capsules to the right, opens, unveiling a dark throne....
  1219.
1220. ...and a dead archon, glowing with an absurd amount of mana, even in death.
1221. [21:16] Ashalle says, "...It's perfectly safe for all of you."
  1222. [21:16] Ashalle says, "Have a seat."
1223. [21:16] Ahmir Valerius says, "Hmn... now I'm interested."
1224. [21:16] Arkgvunde Vel'heim asks, "... Does anybody else want the Archon corpse?"
1225. [21:16] Declan Caelum says, "...no."
  1226. [21:16] Caira Vindict says, "..."
1227. [21:16] {NARRATION} The 'defective' machine is big enough for Ark to fit in, if he's willing to pry it open and take the risk.
  1228. [21:17] Iral Woodnshire says, "..."
1229. [21:17] Iral Woodnshire says, "Dude..."
1230. [21:17] Caira Vindict says, "I'm not getting anywhere -near- that with my mana."
  1231. [21:17] Arkgvunde Vel'heim says, ". . ."
1232. [21:17] Ashalle says, "Feel free"
1233. [21:17] Nochtli Sugar says, "No. Thank. You."
1234. [21:17] Declan Caelum says, "Have fun, Ark. This is how you get Archon."
1235. [21:17] Ashalle says, "Bon appetite, Arkgvunde."
1236. [21:17] Eshmun Hirai says, "I want to feed it to my ring."
1237. [21:17] Danu Lir says, "But he already got Archon last expedition."
1238. [21:17] Sima Kang says, "Time for Ark to eat an Arkon."
  1239. [21:17] Sima Kang says, "..."
  1240. [21:17] Arkgvunde Vel'heim says, "Arkon."
  1241. [21:17] Declan Caelum says, "..."
  1242. [21:17] Iral Woodnshire says, "..."
1243. [21:17] Sima Kang says, "I-- I lost a lot of blood fuck you."
1244. [21:17] Ahmir Valerius says, "Well..."
  1245. [21:17] Eshmun Hirai says, "Bahaha...Arkon."
1246. [21:17] Arkgvunde Vel'heim says, "...Sima, you made that joke last time."
1247. [21:17] Danu Lir says, "... It kind of makes sense."
1248. [21:17] Iral Woodnshire says, "My ears didn't deserve that one."
1249. [21:17] Iral Woodnshire says, "Woah..."
1250. [21:17] Tahldrig says, "I made it last timeArk."
1251. [21:18] Tahldrig says, "Sima stole my material."
1252. [21:18] Nochtli Sugar says, "Sima, eat something."
  1253. [21:18] Sima Kang says, "I."
1254. [21:18] Sima Kang says, "Am fine."
1255. [21:18] Nochtli Sugar says, "You gotta- get some blood back in you."
1256. [21:18] Saba Sugar says, "Now ain't really the time to eat things."
1257. [21:18] Iral Woodnshire says, "Pfft."
1258. [21:19] Iral Woodnshire says, "Watch our as Ark eat that dead fag."
  1259. [21:19] Ahmir Valerius says, "..."
1260. [21:19] Saba Sugar says, "That's... One way to put it."
1261. [21:19] Ahmir Valerius says, "Talk about crude."
1262. [21:19] Declan Caelum says, "...I wonder if I can crush this soothing reed into oil and put it under Sima's tongue so he can stop talking and relax a bit."
1263. [21:19] Nochtli Sugar says, "...Yeesh."
1264. [21:19] Yandir says, "Focus, people."
1265. [21:20] Gazing between the capsules with their respective elements, and then at the dead Archon that was beaming with ridiculous amounts of mana... it made him assume that this was some sort of experiment to bind new element to the Demonkind. Instead, he comes up with an idea.
  1266.
  1267. "Hold on..."
  1268.
1269. "What if we try to moderate the amount of mana? It seems that this Archon had died due to far too much mana, because even in death, that touch still lingers."
  1270.
1271. "Perhaps it'll become a lot safer to do this ritual, even if at lesser potency, if the amount of mana is simply reduced? The magi with their respective elements could moderate the income flow of mana."
  1272.
1273. "That way, it could be safer."
  1274.
  1275. Probably. Hopefully.
  1276. (Keitaro)
  1277. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1278.
1279. [21:20] Iral Woodnshire says, "Mhm."
1280. [21:20] Danu Lir says, "That... does make sense."
1281. [21:20] Danu Lir asks, "Moderation, then?"
  1282. [21:20] Saba Sugar says, "I suppose."
1283. [21:20] Eshmun Hirai says, "Dreamer Ely, this place has motion activation."
1284. [21:20] Isaac glanced to Nyphadora, gently nudging the fae with the tip of his finger. "Hmm, I wonder if the capules will turn them into demons. That'd be something."
  1285. (Isaac Shimasu)
  1286. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1287.
1288. [21:20] Iral Woodnshire exclaims, "Oh! Nice one, nice one!"
1289. [21:21] Tahldrig says, "Surely they tried using less mana.."
  1290. [21:21] Nyphadora says, "Mm, who knows~"
1291. [21:21] Eshmun Hirai says, "It took us walking in here for it to open up and do this."
1292. [21:21] Nyphadora says, "Am hoping for it, a bit."
  1293. [21:21]
1294. "There's something that you all should know." She says while beginning to purse her lips. "This was a means to attune them to their specific element...Allowing them to become something more. I imagine, however, that it hadn't worked. But apparently, it seems that they've all failed and have resulted in death." A pause is given. Which only meant that the old one within the seat was one of the means to give them that power. He shared bits and pieces of himself so that they could possibly do what it takes to live. And because of the project failing...Perhaps, him not being able to be enough of that...
  1295.
  1296. They all died. However..
  1297.
1298. "The biggest thing here, however, is the fact that there is a corrupted spirit here. And the magma elementalists asked us to get rid of it. So...Either we can sit down in those seats and unleash it or...We can leave it alone. Either way, it's dangerous. Either way. I do suggest my daemon sitting in one of the chairs to avoid casualties."
  1299.
  1300. A shrug is given.
  1301.
1302. "However, you all do what you desire. If people don't want to, then that's fine. I just suggest my daemon getting inside of the oceanic one.
  1303. (Ashalle)
  1304. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1305.
  1306. [21:21] Keitaro says, "As I said-"
1307. [21:21] Keitaro says, "We can simply reduce the income of that mana."
1308. [21:21] Keitaro says, "This ritual doesn't have to happen at exactly same potency as it did before, and result in death."
1309. [21:21] Keitaro says, "I can bet that it's due to overcharge this Archon basically got fried to death."
1310. [21:22] His grip upon Requiem tightens-- it's not particularly out of alarm, or so, but rather... the entire arcana to embrace the surroundings remains rather uncomfortable, to say the least. And more than enough to bring forth a certain buzzing from the corrupted relic.
  1311.
1312. He'd ignore it, despite all, before taking a single step towards the... corpse. The mana was palpable, if anything-- much akin to the one surrounding yet another dead, demonic form within the deeper parts of Dreadwoods. To think he'd witness such again...
  1313.
1314. "There's a ton of it-- and it's dead, but... it still has more than enough energy going for it. The 'defective' machinery doesn't particularly require a living creature, I suppose... it just requires one with mana attuned to it."
  1315.
1316. A slower pause, gaze drifting in Ashalle's direction.
  1317.
1318. "Could either toss the dead one brimming with mana over there to test how... the thing functions, but--- a Daemon's better option, so long as the mana is regulated, as well. I second that. Be it the fiery one, or the one attuned to ice."
  1319.
  1320.
  1321. (Elyon Hirai)
  1322. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1323.
1324. [21:22] Arkgvunde Vel'heim says, "...Say, could we just... Pull the dead Archon out and let me eat their magic? It might lead to the machine stabilizing."
1325. [21:22] Nyphadora says, "Yes, why don't you go on ahead and get inside to grab it."
1326. [21:22] Ahmir Valerius says, "I'd rather just sit in th' chair and fuckin' die at this rate."
1327. [21:23] Danu Lir says, "Just... the rest figure out a way to handle the other side."
1328. [21:23] Ashalle says, "We already told you to grab it, Arkgvunde. Go ahead..."
1329. [21:23] Arkgvunde Vel'heim says, "Putting an Umbral Kaor and a dead Umbral Archon in the capsule sounds like the thingy will trigger and kill us all."
1330. [21:23] Danu Lir says, "I don't think there is any way around this."
1331. [21:23] Tobias Ulrich says, "This has become too confusing.."
1332. [21:23] After Ashalle is finished with giving a few more notes regarding the machines, Aurora decides to offer some commentary as well. Since it seemed to be what everyone was doing right now.
  1333.
1334. "Just remember, these are machines created by archons. I don't know if the person sitting inside can choose how much of its mana it will give... The machine might drain it all, even."
  1335.
1336. A possibility. One that people should have been at the very least made aware of.
  1337.
1338. "But seeing as I am not a water magi, nor am I a fire or nature one... By all means. If someone wants to take a seat..."
  1339.
1340. The sentence is left unfinished.
  1341. (Aurora Cruor)
  1342. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1343.
1344. [21:23] Nyphadora says, "Never thought I'd be falling asleep on a spire island..."
1345. [21:23] Declan Caelum asks, "--Can we just let Keitaro try to reduce the risk of death, kill the Nethardin, and get the shard?"
1346. [21:23] Ahmir Valerius says, "No need for your fugly daemon ta' sit in th' chair. I'll do it."
1347. [21:23] Nyphadora says, "So many hours of us just walking and now this..."
1348. [21:24] Someone had to take the lead or the group would die of old age rather than to the island's guardians.
  1349.
1350. She allowed those far more experienced than herself to handle the other side, but as for the three elemental seats that were still empty, they had to advance somehow. And with pyromancy being the only thing that she seemed to be good at, it was a perfect of a fit as any for her.
  1351.
1352. And, besides, there weren't that many pyromancers present from what she knew of.
  1353.
1354. Ignoring the Ezmaran Chieftain's request, the Ookami stepped forward and towards the seat that was marked with a flame. Unless otherwise hindered by someone of the expedition-- or something else-- she would plop down into the seat and tightly grasp onto the armguards.
  1355.
1356. She would ever-so-gently allow the flow of her mana, to gauge whether the machine would react to her. Would it?
  1357.
  1358.
  1359. (Danu Lir)
  1360. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1361.
1362. [21:24] Iral Woodnshire says, "It's as simple as that... It's getting boring, even."
1363. [21:25] Ashalle says, "No, just let the daemon do it, Ahmir."
1364. [21:25] Ashalle says, "It ended in failure. If you don't make it, you could die."
1365. [21:25] Nyphadora exclaims, "Oh, oh! Someone's trying!"
1366. [21:25] Caira reaches up and grabs one of the stickies. Holding it now, she's quick to read it out. "This little note right here says that the Spirit -Sealing- Rate is at 0.01 percent. I think these machines are meant to seal something inside of you, and given how this Archon quite literally exploded from the mana circuits out? I don't think putting a Daemon in there is going to end well for anyone."
  1367.
1368. Caira circles around and huffs for a time, looking over the earthen chamber.
  1369.
1370. "With all of the spirits and elementals we found coming into here, with how they wanted to -escape- I think we're dealing with some kind of factory to take and lock away spirits inside of the demons around. Probably for the power, given the Illyothan Demons here.." Caira runs her fingers over the runes all around the place and huffs once.
  1371.
1372. "I don't think we're getting an easier by than trying to put ourselves in the chambers. If no one is willing, I'll sit in the Earthen Aegis and volunteer."
  1373. (Caira Vindict)
  1374. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1375.
1376. [21:25] Isaac Shimasu says, "Daemon abuse..."
1377. [21:25] Ahmir Valerius says, "More shit for ya' ta' walk away with. I'm bored.."
1378. [21:26] Moving towards the Oceanse Embrace, he stood right in front of the seat now, looking at everyone, "Actually Ashalle, going by the fact these have 'moderate'. It seems that there have been survivors for this one, but, for that one right there?" A hand raised, pointing to the dead Archons corpse.
  1379.
1380. "It's a death trap, and that is the one I think your daemon should be seated in, if you wish to avoid casualties." They gave a small smile, looking at the seat and finally saying aloud, "What she said is correct however, we were warned of a wraith, if anything happens, we'll be dealing with that...Especially if someone sits in the death chair." Sure enough they'd actually see the nearby Danu Lir jump into their chair.
  1381.
  1382. Well shit.
  1383.
1384. Smile turning into a frown, they'd jump into their own chair, "Looks like we should probably do these...Since the cheese vendor decided to actually jump into one, which might just start activating them all at once." Mana pulsated, they began awaiting whatever the chair might do.
  1385. (Eshmun Hirai)
  1386. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1387.
1388. [21:26] Ashalle says, "So you want to take things from me.."
1389. [21:26] Ashalle says, "How awful."
1390. [21:26] Ashalle just wanted to see her daemon implode, okay..
  1391. (Ashalle)
  1392. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1393.
1394. [21:26] Tahldrig asks, "Doesn't it need an umbral?"
1395. [21:26] Caira Vindict says, "No. Read the notes."
1396. [21:26] Caira Vindict says, "Umbrals they tried exploded like this Archon here."
1397. [21:27] Elyon Hirai says, "Just... just roll with Ashalle's idea. Risking one of members with the belief of 'regulating mana /might/ make things easier' is far too risky. We can afford to have a daemon or so as casualty."
1398. [21:27] Elyon Hirai says, "I vote for the fire one to be sacri-- utilized."
1399. [21:27] Tobias Ulrich says, "They already sat down.."
1400. [21:27] Iral Woodnshire says, "Sacrificed. Yeap."
  1401. [21:27] Ashalle scratches head.
  1402. (Ashalle)
  1403. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1404.
1405. [21:27] Ahmir Valerius says, "Ah, looks like I don't have ta' go after all."
  1406. [21:27] Iral nods sagely.
  1407. (Iral Woodnshire)
  1408. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1409.
1410. [21:27] Declan Caelum asks, "...Elyon, you sound rather hunted by her fire daemon. You okay?"
1411. [21:27] Danu has sadly saved the Blazon from a most fitting end by stealing the fire-aspected chair.
  1412.
  1413. Sorry, lil fella.
  1414. (Danu Lir)
  1415. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1416.
1417. [21:27] A frown spread across the chieftain's face, as he glanced between Elyon, Danu, and eventually Nochtli. The fact that those three seemed to think some burns could slow him down was a tad infuriating.
  1418.
1419. "Yeah fuck that, I ain't gonna sit here and watch someone else subjects themselves to spirit knows what. I'm sitting in that damn seat."
  1420.
1421. He'd begin to make his way towards the seat, only to pause as Danu entered the machine moments before him. His frown would turn into scowl, as he made his way back over towards the group folding his arms across his chest, as he silently watched Danu to see what happened.
  1422.
1423. Oh well, it seems he was too slow.
  1424.
  1425. "Try not to die."
  1426. (Saba Sugar)
  1427. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1428.
1429. [21:27] She had enough of the talking and chatter that fell upon the group. The walking exhausted her. The talking exhausted her. Celestine just wished for progress now.
  1430.
1431. "Talking isn't going to change anything..."
  1432.
1433. Her eyes pass around the party, reviewing internally what the group said one last time before turning to the pods another time.
  1434.
1435. Celestine reviews the machinery, and turns to Caira Vindict. "Are you sure you want to sit in the Earthen one? I am willing to sacrifice myself for progress, but I won't stop you if you're sure about it," she says, crossing her arms.
  1436.
  1437. "So.. what now?"
  1438. (Celestine Elisheva)
  1439. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1440.
1441. [21:27] Ahmir leans against Ashalle.
  1442. (Ahmir Valerius)
  1443. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1444.
1445. [21:27] Ashalle says, "All that's left is the earth one."
1446. [21:27] Iral Woodnshire says, "...And there she goes...."
1447. [21:27] Declan Caelum says, "Fuck it."
  1448. [21:27] Nochtli Sugar says, "Dad- don't"
1449. [21:27] Caira Vindict says, ".. I'm sure. I'd like to put myself there. I -really- think an ice magi should sit in the water."
  1450. [21:27] Declan Caelum says, "I'll go."
1451. [21:27] Tahldrig says, "Ashalle, you use nature, you could sit in it."
1452. [21:27] Declan Caelum says, "No, no."
1453. [21:27] Nochtli Sugar says, "I'll go in the water one."
1454. [21:27] Declan Caelum says, "Caira, come back - let me do it."
1455. [21:27] Iral Woodnshire says, "No no no no."
1456. [21:27] Iral Woodnshire says, "You stay."
1457. [21:27] Ashalle says, "I'm much more important than Declan..."
1458. [21:27] Nochtli Sugar exclaims, "I'm an ice magi!"
1459. [21:27] Ahmir Valerius exclaims, "Ahaha!"
  1460. [21:28] Keitaro says, "Well..."
1461. [21:28] Saba Sugar says, "Bah, you aren't sitting in there Nochtli."
1462. [21:28] Ashalle exclaims, "What makes you think I'm going to-...Paaahh!"
  1463. [21:28] Ashalle exclaims, "ahahaa!"
1464. [21:28] Caira strides up and puts herself inside of the Earthen Aegis.
  1465.
1466. "Find a water magi or ice magi to put in the water machine. I don't trust the Daemon."
  1467. (Caira Vindict)
  1468. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1469.
1470. [21:28] Saba Sugar says, "You protested for me, so I'll do the same damn thing for you."
1471. [21:28] Keitaro says, "I have no respective elements to any of these. So, good luck."
1472. [21:28] Tahldrig says, "Could make you stronger."
1473. [21:28] Sima Kang says, "Esh is alreayd hopping in--"
1474. [21:28] Declan Caelum says, "To be fair, you're also the eldest of the three earth magi, you could've..."
1475. [21:28] Nochtli Sugar says, "Oh-"
1476. [21:28] Ashalle says, "I offered my Daemon's for tribute."
1477. [21:28] Saba Sugar says, "Plus, Esh is already sitting in it."
1478. [21:29] Ashalle says, "If you can't take that...It's not my issue."
1479. [21:29] Ahmir Valerius says, "Screw th' thing."
1480. [21:29] Ashalle bats her hand at the air.
  1481. (Ashalle)
  1482. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1483.
1484. [21:29] Declan shrugs his shoulders.
  1485. (Declan Caelum)
  1486. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1487.
1488. [21:29] Tahldrig says, "Pet abuse is not cool."
1489. [21:29] Ashalle says, "If something bad happens, don't say I didn't tell you so."
1490. [21:29] Declan Caelum says, "It do be like that."
1491. [21:29] Saba Sugar says, "It really do."
1492. [21:29] Iral Woodnshire says, "I mean... They could just... Cath another one."
1493. [21:29] Iral Woodnshire says, "catch*"
1494. [21:29] Elyon Hirai says, "...there's a likelihood of death here. The machines themselves likely wouldn't trigger any sort of explosion..."
1495. [21:30] Declan Caelum says, "It won't as long as you don't touch the shard."
1496. [21:30] Ahmir Valerius says, "Hurry up an' di-get in the chairs."
1497. [21:30] Eshmun is in the water chair, has been in it.
  1498. (Eshmun Hirai)
  1499. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1500.
1501. [21:30] Tobias Ulrich exclaims, "They're already in the chairs!"
1502. [21:30] The Shenlong crosses his arms at the decision made. This could be very terrible.. or this could actually make them succeed at last. Still, he can't help but ponder what'll result be.
  1503.
1504. "Try to not die. If you feel like the mana flow becomes too much, then... try to escape capsule, I suppose. Or scream. We could try to get you out of there."
  1505.
1506. While he was curious to see what happens.. part of him hoped they would encounter something to fight after all, soon enough.
  1507.
1508. Having puzzle after puzzle was making him sleepy.
  1509. (Keitaro)
  1510. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1511.
1512. [21:30] Ahmir Valerius says, "Good."
  1513. [21:30] Elyon just sighs a tad.
  1514. (Elyon Hirai)
  1515. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1516.
1517. [21:31] Ashalle waits for the result. oWo
  1518. (Ashalle)
  1519. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1520.
1521. [21:31] Saba Sugar says, "Don't fuckin' die."
  1522. [21:31] Ashalle whispers something.
  1523. [21:31] Ashalle whispers something.
1524. [21:31] Isaac pulls out his Agarthian Transceiver and begins text messaging while the others get seated in their Chambers of Death.
  1525. (Isaac Shimasu)
  1526. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1527.
1528. [21:31] Iral Woodnshire says, "Welp..."
1529. [21:32] Arkgvunde contemplates their options, failing to take action... But still eyeing the dead Archon seated in the Darkness pod. Hmm.
  1530. (Arkgvunde Vel'heim)
  1531. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1532.
1533. [21:32] Ashalle pushes Arkgvunde in.
  1534. (Ashalle)
  1535. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1536.
  1537. [21:32] ya yeet
  1538. (Ashalle)
  1539. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1540.
  1541. [21:32] no.
  1542. (Arkgvunde Vel'heim)
  1543. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1544.
1545. [21:35] {NARRATION} The chambers slam shut, and wires begin to crawl on Caira, Eshmun, and Danu. Wrapping around the arms, necks, spreading across their faces, as the interface begins to whir.
  1546.
1547. Thus, the sealed chamber to the 'defective' machine flies open, allowing one to take a seat in either throne of darkness.
  1548.
1549. Each orb begins to glow, shining bright, as a countdown is activated. Give the others roughly ten seconds to decide on whether or not someone is going to sit in the Death Chairs.
  1550.
1551. An electronic, static-filled voice echoes within this Illyothian nightmare.
  1552.
1553. "Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five...."
1554. [21:36] Ashalle puts her daemon into the death chair.
  1555. (Ashalle)
  1556. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1557.
1558. [21:36] Declan Caelum says, "Ark, go for it - why the fuck not."
1559. [21:36] Arkgvunde Vel'heim says, "Ah, hell. Here."
1560. [21:36] Tobias Ulrich exclaims, "Caira already explained why putting a daemon inside would be a bad idea!"
  1561. [21:36] Keitaro says, "..."
1562. [21:36] Tobias Ulrich says, "Uhh-"
1563. [21:36] Keitaro asks, "Are you actually going in?"
1564. [21:36] Keitaro says, "Holy shit."
1565. [21:37] Tobias Ulrich asks, "What do we do?"
  1566. [21:38] Iral Woodnshire says, "....."
1567. [21:39] A pause lingers. Something stirs in Shenlong's mind...
  1568.
1569. "Ark.. if you're actually going to step inside, and inevitably due, since it directly warns about impossibility of the task.."
  1570.
1571. "Do a backflip into seat. It'll look cooler."
  1572. (Keitaro)
  1573. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1574.
  1575. [21:39] Declan Caelum says, "..."
  1576. [21:39] Arkgvunde Vel'heim says, "Of course."
  1577. [21:39] Tahldrig says, "Ha."
1578. [21:39] Saba Sugar says, "Aye, please doa backflip."
1579. [21:39] Nochtli Sugar says, "Absolutely based."
  1580. [21:39] Arkgvunde looked...
  1581.
  1582. Dumbfounded? Confused? Surprised? Joyful!?
  1583.
1584. As the giant Nature amalgam decided to unlatch the door to one of the totally-not-doomed-to-eternity capsules of Darkness, they tossed their family fortune over to Sima and flipped over into the seat.
  1585.
1586. What could possibly go wrong?
  1587. (Arkgvunde Vel'heim)
  1588. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1589.
1590. [21:40] Declan Caelum says, "Ark, I want you to do a backflip, a barrel roll, and...-"
  1591. [21:40] {Item} Dropped a bag of 44105 Coins.
1592. [21:40] Sima Kang says, "Wh-"
1593. [21:40] Keitaro says, "He's actually doing it."
  1594. [21:40] Keitaro says, "A mad lad."
1595. [21:40] Iral Woodnshire exclaims, "OH SHIT HE DID IT!"
1596. [21:40] Nochtli Sugar says, "He actually did."
1597. [21:40] Sima catches that bag of coin. Holy FUCK that's alot.
  1598. (Sima Kang)
  1599. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1600.
1601. [21:40] Nochtli Sugar says, "The utter chad."
1602. [21:40] Caira Vindict whispers: For the record big guy, if this all goes south - Thanks for putting a hand in raising me.
1603. [21:40] Saba Sugar says, "Spirits bless you Ark."
1604. [21:40] Sima Kang whispers something.
  1605. [21:40] Keitaro says, "What a trooper."
1606. [21:40] Nochtli Sugar says, "Quetzelcoatl bless you, my friend."
1607. [21:40] Tahldrig says, "Spirits protect Ark."
1608. [21:40] Iral Woodnshire says, "...I can't believe we're finally seeing Ark getting Archoned... And three other people dying."
1609. [21:40] Iral Woodnshire exclaims, "Welp!"
1610. [21:40] Saba Sugar says, "You brave, and glorious bastard."
1611. [21:41] Arkgvunde Vel'heim says, "I wonder if being part-Quetzalcoatl is going to alter the outcome."
1612. [21:41] Sima Kang whispers something.
1613. [21:41] Sima Kang whispers something.
1614. [21:41] Nochtli Sugar whispers something.
1615. [21:41] Sima Kang whispers something.
1616. [21:41] Nochtli Sugar whispers something.
1617. [21:41] Nochtli Sugar whispers something.
1618. [21:41] Nochtli Sugar whispers something.
1619. [21:41] Sima Kang whispers something.
1620. [21:41] Sima Kang whispers something.
1621. [21:41] Sima Kang whispers something.
1622. [21:41] Nochtli Sugar whispers something.
1623. [21:41] Sima Kang whispers something.
1624. [21:41] Nochtli Sugar whispers something.
1625. [21:41] Nochtli Sugar whispers something.
1626. [21:42] Elyon just keeps his gaze focused upon Eshmun's capsule, eyebrows knitted together, though he remains still otherwise.
  1627. (Elyon Hirai)
  1628. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1629.
1630. [21:43] Declan crosses his fingers and prays to the highest power in Eternia.
  1631. (Declan Caelum)
  1632. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1633.
1634. [21:44] Nochtli raises up her hands, sending a prayer to the spirits for these three magi, and this absolute chad of a Demon.
  1635. (Nochtli Sugar)
  1636. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1637.
  1638. [21:44] Nyphadora says, "Pfft..."
1639. [21:44] Nyphadora says, "Should give me that Isaac..."
1640. [21:44] Nyphadora says, "Before you lose it."
  1641. [21:44] Declan Caelum says, "..."
  1642. [21:44] Iral Woodnshire says, "........"
  1643. [21:44] Nochtli Sugar says, "..."
1644. [21:44] Isaac Shimasu whispers something.
1645. [21:44] Iral Woodnshire says, "DAMN."
1646. [21:44] As the daemon, and demon, enter the chambers, each machine begins to whir loudly.
  1647.
1648. The orb of flame, water, and earth, flicker bright, illuminating the right side of the room. The orbs of darkness cast shadows upon the right side. Contrasting heavily with one other.
  1649.
1650. "Five, four, three, two, one...."
  1651.
1652. Each respective element begins to thrum throughout the three magi. While the machines coated in darkness fill the circuits of the Kaor, and daemon, with absurd amounts of occult magic.
  1653.
1654. "Priming, set. Conversion phase, begins."
  1655.
  1656. Caira, Danu, Eshmun, roll.
  1657.
1658. Ark, daemon, hold onto your seats.
  1659. (Thera)
  1660. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1661.
1662. [21:45] {NARRATION} As the daemon, and demon, enter the chambers, each machine begins to whir loudly.
  1663.
1664. The orb of flame, water, and earth, flicker bright, illuminating the right side of the room. The orbs of darkness cast shadows upon the right side. Contrasting heavily with one other.
  1665.
1666. "Five, four, three, two, one...."
  1667.
1668. Each respective element begins to thrum throughout the three magi. While the machines coated in darkness fill the circuits of the Kaor, and daemon, with absurd amounts of occult magic.
  1669.
1670. "Priming, set. Conversion phase, begins."
  1671.
  1672. Caira, Danu, Eshmun, roll.
  1673.
1674. Ark, daemon, hold onto your seats.
1675. [21:50] {NARRATION} Eshmun's circuits become attuned to the ocean, as water mana consumes him. Gills begin to grow on his neck, allowing him to breathe underwater. There is no pain throughout his transformation, as things seem to be going well on his end.
  1676.
1677. Caira's circuits are filled with earth magic, but her body begins to change. Her nails grow long, her teeth turn to stone. She can feel petrification sinking in, as her toes and feet become covered in bark.
  1678.
1679. Danu's circuits are filled with flames, and the heat bursts through the Ookami. The fur on their tail, and ears, is replaced by enteral fire, giving them locks of flame. Hindering, painful, empowering fires.
  1680.
  1681. Ark, roll.
  1682.
1683. Ashalle, roll for your daemon.
1684. [21:56] As the transformation went underway, he felt like there was something terribly wrong happening. Yet, there was nothing he could do to stop it. They were already locked in, and the stage where they could consider what actions they'd take was long over. The five tributes were forced to shift, and they had to watch.
  1685.
1686. "This-.." he looked around frantically, at anyone who was qualified to stop this. Desperate. No, there wasn't anyone who had an idea of what was going on. They would have stepped in beforehand if it was obvious that this would be dangerous.
  1687.
1688. "This doesn't look right!" he exclaimed. Panic ensued, and he had to watch as these people were forced to undergo elemental changes. Worry. Were these changes permanent? Would they make it out of this life? And, was all of this even worth it?
  1689.
1690. "How do we stop it?" he asked in his state of desperation.
  1691. (Tobias Ulrich)
  1692. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1693.
1694. [21:56] Noticeably excited the entire time from inside the capsule, even as wires were encroaching upon every end of his body. Circuits were connected to, a strange lingering attunement to the ocean filling his body. Already he could feel the call to water, mana pulsating through his being. All the while, painlessly gills were forming onto his neck.
  1695.
1696. "This is amazing technology." Were their only words as everything was like a relaxing sauna. Though out of curiosity, his eyes peaked towards the nearby capsules and...They looked away, it looked like only his was going peacefully.
  1697. (Eshmun Hirai)
  1698. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1699.
1700. [21:56] Declan Caelum whispers something.
1701. [21:56] {NARRATION} Ark and the daemon are filled to the brim with overflowing occult mana. It fills their circuits, forcing them to overflow with an urge to destroy. Darkness fills them, and the daemon...
  1702.
1703. It begins to scream in pain, growing two little horns, where Arkgvunde begins to shiver, shake, and roar. He can feel his leaves and bark fall, and his flesh begins to change in hue, growing lilac and dark. Though, it feels as if something is tugging on his circuits, attempting to drain him of the very mana he'd received.
  1704.
  1705. "Conversion phase, complete."
  1706.
1707. Each of the machines begin to rumble, and the spire shard grows bright.
  1708.
  1709. "Sealing phase, activated."
  1710.
  1711. Eshmun, Caira, Danu.
  1712.
  1713. Roll.
1714. [21:57] What was she expecting to happen? Her body writhed and turned as yet more wires wrapped around her limbs, effectively paralyzing her in the chair. She let out several annoyed groans out of discomfort-- if they could even be heard outside the chamber-- and tried yet to move, but with no avail.
  1715.
  1716. 3... 2... 1...
  1717.
  1718. And it activated.
  1719.
1720. At first there was nothing, but suddenly the heat-- even for a fire magi-- started to rise to a unmanageable level. Her mouth opened to scream out in pain, arms desperately trying to free themselves from the wires that held her down. And in a sudden explosion of mana, it all went completely out of control.
  1721.
1722. Flames wildly lash at her and, specifically, both her bottoms and head are severely burnt by the process. As she could not see herself, she had absolutely no way of knowing what was happening to her other than the immense pain that she was feeling. Writing, kicking, screaming all at once as those locks of her slowly turned into bright-orange flames.
  1723.
  1724. (Danu Lir)
  1725. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1726.
1727. [21:57] Caira sat down into the chamber and closed the hatch before Declan or Celestine could talk her out of it. When she closes it down and she's left inside, the woman takes in a deep breath and shuts her eyes. Wiring and circuits started to crawl up her legs, arms, they would imbed themselves into her body and start to channel energies and mana into her body wholesale. The woman's eyes are shut, but she can feel the pain starting to sink into her body as she started to become more earthlike than not.
  1728.
1729. Little by little, her arms and legs were starting to harden and petrify. Bit by bit, she can feel herself changing and morphing under it. She doesn't open her eyes. How could she? She's stuck and sold to seeing this through to the very end. As her already black and sharp panther-like nails started to grow longer, Caira doesn't dare kick open the hatch. As her teeth were shifting and morphing from bone to stone, she's wearing a frown and an agitated expression.
  1730.
1731. It isn't until her feet start to morph and spout bark that she starts to tremble just a bit.
  1732.
1733. .. Was she going to die here? For the greater good of those around? Her Gehennans? Her mind takes a moment to leave the current state of things - And for the life of her she can't stop thinking about Adrian. About Narissa and Vetani. Rindou and the Hirai brothers. Even Arkgvunde. Just how many friends had she made in her time here? Just how much was she bound to lose?
  1734.
1735. The stubborn and determined woman continued to sit in the chamber as the mana took its course. She's telling herself over and over again that she'll live - But for the life of her, even Caira doesn't know the answer.
  1736.
1737. I promise I'll be safe, Adrian. I want to help you and Levengard see this through, alright? After that - We'll get married, start a family. So make sure to take care of yourself too, okay?
  1738.
1739. Those words continue to repeat themselves in her mind. Over and over again. Live, Caira. Live.
  1740. (Caira Vindict)
  1741. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1742.
1743. [21:58] Isaac Shimasu whispers something.
1744. [21:58] Ahmir presumed things were about to get really stupid, hence why he was probably smart enough to push Ashalle just a few centimeters forward.
  1745.
  1746. Grin.
  1747. (Ahmir Valerius)
  1748. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1749.
  1750. [22:01] "..."
  1751.
1752. This didn't look right at all. In fact, this looked like this could potentially end up in deaths. But instead of hurrying up with interrupting the process, considering that it would be both their solution to this problem and potential harm to the people- much greater than the one they're experiencing- he gestured for others to wait.
  1753.
1754. "Don't rush just yet. Interrupting the process can become more harmful than beneficial."
  1755.
1756. And yet, the screams. When he heard that, his lips pursed in thought... uncertain on what decision to make. A glance is given to Tobias, whom brought up the idea of breaking them out.
  1757.
1758. "Prepare to cut wires to corresponding capsules if they yell to release them."
  1759.
1760. Instead, he approached just a bit closer, all to make sure he's heard by those inside. His voice was raised in volume as well.
  1761.
1762. "Do you want us to get you out?"
  1763.
1764. All he could hope is that others realized that interrupting this process might end up more harmful. Besides.. maybe they were willing to see it through anyway.
  1765. (Keitaro)
  1766. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1767.
1768. [22:02] The wires begin to brand runes, upon the flesh of those within. Caira, Eshmun, and Danu, all have different fates.
  1769.
1770. While the petrification stops, just above Caira's ankles, she can feel a foreign presence entering her circuits. It comes, with a voice, a cry- a scream for help. Outside of the chamber, a silhouette begins to form...
  1771.
1772. Danu can hear a violent scream, something pained and raging, screaming as it enters their circuits. Their skin begins to burn, and a heat envelops them. Warmth begins to embrace her.
  1773.
1774. Eshmun, while fine so far, can feel something entering his circuits. Yet, it resists, damaging them in the process. While the essence is sealed, he can feel his soul screaming as the creature tries to break free, making it difficult to cast magic for a while.
  1775.
  1776. Ark, roll.
  1777.
  1778. Ashalle, role for daemon.
  1779. (Thera)
  1780. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1781.
1782. [22:03] "..." And what is there to say about everything else that is happening? Her lips would purse...Hands carefully drifting behind her back after Ahmir would push her forward. She seemed...Keen on being rather careful, her own head shaking from left to right as she watches the transformation occur. Half-way in awe...Half-way in befuddled curiosity. In the worst manner...One would be able to see the child-like demeanor within the woman's eyes..Or perhaps, how her lips would separate in an 'o' as each of them would carefully ascend.
  1783.
  1784. Some having pain.
  1785. Others becoming petrified.
1786. And One going through the process smoothly.
  1787.
1788. Each passing moment seemed as if it were made for this. Each moment seems much, much different.
  1789. (Ashalle)
  1790. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1791.
1792. [22:03] {NARRATION} The wires begin to brand runes, upon the flesh of those within. Caira, Eshmun, and Danu, all have different fates.
  1793.
1794. While the petrification stops, just above Caira's ankles, she can feel a foreign presence entering her circuits. It comes, with a voice, a cry- a scream for help. Outside of the chamber, a silhouette begins to form...
  1795.
1796. Danu can hear a violent scream, something pained and raging, screaming as it enters their circuits. Their skin begins to burn, and a heat envelops them. Warmth begins to embrace her.
  1797.
1798. Eshmun, while fine so far, can feel something entering his circuits. Yet, it resists, damaging them in the process. While the essence is sealed, he can feel his soul screaming as the creature tries to break free, making it difficult to cast magic for a while.
  1799.
  1800. Ark, roll.
  1801.
  1802. Ashalle, role for daemon.
1803. [22:04] When his brother appears seemingly comfortable at first, those muscles do relax a bit-- just a bit, ocean hues still drifting back and forth between each and every machinery present, taking in the changes take place, yet-
  1804.
1805. "Messing with wires and such might just send everything spiraling south-- they directly influence the shard... and that thing can explode on us at any time."
  1806.
1807. A murmured response in Tobias' direction, though his fists remain somewhat clenched by his side, though his teeth do press together ever so slightly... at least they appeared relatively... safe so far. As long as safe meant they weren't particularly dying.
  1808.
1809. Eyes flicker over to the side once a shape emerges just outside the chamber, forming, and a single hand reaches for his blade's hilt yet once again-- but still, otherwise.
  1810.
1811. "...Keitaro; is that a spirit?"
  1812.
  1813.
  1814.
  1815. (Elyon Hirai)
  1816. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1817.
1818. [22:08] Caira Vindict whispers: (DM. I'm petrified from my feet to my ankles, right?)
  1819. [22:08] Thera whispers something.
1820. [22:09] Sima Kang whispers something.
  1821. [22:09] Tahldrig whispers something.
  1822. [22:09] Tahldrig whispers something.
1823. [22:10] {NARRATION} While three manage to attain unwilling guardians of some sorts....the daemon and demon have different results.
  1824.
1825. The sealing on the daemon is powerful, forcing it's circuits to attune to the occult. It's mind grows more powerful, undoing a small amount of the damage dealt by the spires.
  1826.
1827. Ark can feel his consciousness fading, as he continues to become drained. Where the daemon grows more intelligent, he can feel his mind and thoughts becoming scattered. Thoughts of Ashalle enter his mind, he can see himself fighting for her, and alongside her.
  1828.
1829. Eating daemon food from her hand....
  1830.
1831. Strange, strange memories, that weren't even his.
  1832.
  1833. "Final phase. Stabilizing."
  1834.
  1835.
  1836.
  1837.
  1838. All five of you.
  1839.
  1840. Random 1-100.
  1841.
  1842. A one is death.
1843. Bellow twenty will result in a heavy perm, on top of the other injuries.
1844. Higher rolls result in higher rewards.
  1845.
1846. [22:10] Tobias Ulrich whispers something.
1847. [22:12] Her writhing proved to be to no avail - rather the opposite. The wires tightened and were enveloped in the same heat that enveloped her body, producing a sizzle as it burnt its way into her skin. It took her a while to notice underneath her own screaming, but there was something else.
  1848.
1849. And considering her previous experience where she had met the Archon who previously injured her, it might as well be the remains of her still screaming throughout her body.
  1850.
1851. As for Keitaro's attempts to communicate with her? They are completely in vain, as she is far to busy with the process to even hear his attempts.
  1852. (Danu Lir)
  1853. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1854.
1855. [22:13] There was nothing that they could do that wouldn't risk blowing up the whole mechanism, and killing them all. Tobias clenched his fist, stepping up. All he could do was offer his support in a different way, even though he wanted to protect them directly.
  1856.
1857. "Hang in there! Stay awake, no matter what!" he shouted, before yelling a more simpler command that may be able to get through to them during the madness. One word. "Live!"
  1858. (Tobias Ulrich)
  1859. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1860.
1861. [22:15] Still looking rather happy inside the culture tank, oceanic attunement being pumped into his being. Only after 'Sealing Phase' activated was stated, did things actually go downhill. Something was entering his body, something that was unwelcome to his truth. Something that if it wasn't for how exactly he was strapped in, and how things were going...He'd fight against.
  1862.
1863. Instead, the thing didn't enjoy what was happening, and began throwing a hissy-fit. Fingers tightened onto whatever he could grab, veins pulsated all across his body as their soul screamed. It fought, yet he also fought back, forcing their own will upon the spirit.
  1864.
1865. In the end, as the thing began calming down, Eshmun is left smiling brightly in the container. Circuits may be spasming with damage, his mana feeling sluggish, but...So far he wasn't dead, right?
  1866. (Eshmun Hirai)
  1867. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1868.
1869. [22:16] She can feel the petrification trailing up her body. Caira's face is a determined one but it is one masking pain. She grits her teeth in pain and immediately one could see the gray, silvery glint of stone in her teeth. Her hands come up to hold onto her head and the large, earthen claws on her fingers are spotted as well.
