(8:29:44 PM) Charun_: at this point other than prepping the area, geting surgical tubing and basic iv supplies ready not much.

(8:30:39 PM) Charun_: you are downstairs for about 20 minutes prepping the area clearing some of the larger areas, making the bed in the security cell when you hear several people rushing down the stairs
(8:31:50 PM) Charun_: the marrok enters the room with 4 others.  one is being carried by the other three.  He is a large african american male he has a large towell bound over his abdomen with duct tape and it is saturated with blood
(8:33:14 PM) SeianVerian: "Set him over there, quickly." Right, all my tools in place, gloves on, etc. ...Hopefully I can save him.

(8:45:34 PM) Charun_: after another 60 minutes of work you finally find an additional 18 flechettes

(8:47:05 PM) Charun_: after finally suturing up all of the intestinal punctures you rinse out his abdomen and then finally close 30 minutes later.  So after almost 2 hours of surgery you are done
(8:47:27 PM) Charun_: then you realize the patient has been awake the entire time
(8:47:46 PM) Charun_: the marrok has been staring at him the entire time murmuring to him
(8:48:41 PM) Charun_: then the most amazing thing you have ever seen occurs as the patient shifts to a large wolf with white markings on the table and passes out.  The change takes several minutes and looks unbelieveably painful
(8:49:07 PM) Charun_: once he has shifted the other two pick him up and carry him into the confinement room.
(8:49:19 PM) SeianVerian: "That was... Oh dear lord..." Then the realization comes. "H-how...? Did I misapply the anaesthetic? But... Incredible, he handled the pain without any interference..." And then the shift.
(8:49:46 PM) Charun_: The marrok asks you to please carefully put all the silver into a containment vessel
(8:49:56 PM) SeianVerian: "I... I was afraid I was going to screw that up. That was horrible."

(8:51:22 PM) Charun_: and very messy your floor is covered in blood.  You realize the other two that came in were assisting you by running iv lines and pumping in units of blood

(8:51:43 PM) Charun_: this is obviously not the first time they have done this
(8:54:47 PM) SeianVerian: "So much blood... I do hope I'll be receiving as much assistance in the future, if there are more injuries of that magnitude. If I'd had to do all of that myself, I'm not certain I would have finished before it was too late."
(8:55:37 PM) SeianVerian: I shake my head. "Haha... I'm still almost surprised I can do things like this. For all the credit I'm always given, it's such a relief to not fail those expectations."
(8:55:54 PM) Charun_: the marrok introduces you "seian this is carl and janice,  they are both pack members of the st louis pack.  Carl is a former navy corpsman and janice is a med surg nurse"

(8:58:03 PM) SeianVerian: "A pleasure to meet you both." I hold my hand out to whichever one is nearer for a shake, if a bit awkwardly. "Glad to be working with you."
(8:59:17 PM) Charun_: carl responds and clasps your hand "us too this type of surgery is very difficult for us without our doctor.  He was killed last month in this current war."
(9:00:41 PM) Charun_: "without you we may have lost our alpha and he has not named a current second since donald died."
(9:02:08 PM) SeianVerian: "Ah, I see... I'm very glad to have helped. I'm sure I can never replace the man you used to work with, but I'll do my best to save the lives that he might have." I turn to Janice, and offer my hand to her as well.
(9:03:01 PM) Charun_: janice says nothing but does shake your hand.  You notice she also does not meet your eyes.
(9:04:17 PM) SeianVerian: ...Hm. Omega? Regardless, a somewhat awkward moment of silence follows unless someone else speaks up.
(9:05:27 PM) Charun_: Carl "sorry about janice she is very outspoken in her work but is totally submissive around the other members of the pack."
(9:08:11 PM) SeianVerian: "Ah, I see... Well, I suppose I can hardly force her to talk. I'm sure that if other nights are like this one though, we'll still work together just fine."
(9:08:59 PM) Charun_: Carl" I will stay here tonight to keep an eye on him if that is ok with you.  I will probably take 2-3 days for him to recover."

(9:17:30 PM) SeianVerian: Right... I'll go back downstairs to check on the two of them again first, because I don't feel like just leaving them alone yet. Walk up near Carl. "Er... Hey. Thought I'd just double-check to make sure you didn't need anything before I did anything else. Might try and grab a small snack to calm my nerves once I've finished cleaning up..."

(9:20:19 PM) ***SeianVerian nods. "Yes, I'd imagine the canine aspects of the physiology would make meat especially ideal for that... I'm sort of curious how much it carries over into everyday life though. That is, the canine instincts and tastes."
(9:25:50 PM) Charun_: "well most of us prefer our meat rare but really until the change our tastes remain much the same.  Janice is a very strict vegetarian until she shifts and then she is one of the best hunters among us.

(9:28:17 PM) SeianVerian: "Ah, I see. Good to know. Sorry if I ask a lot of questions, I just tend to be... Very curious about a lot of things, and all of this in particular I find fascinating. Werewolves, fae, vampires... So much that isn't understood by the world because it's been kept hidden."
(9:28:37 PM) SeianVerian: I shake my head. "Anyway, why don't I finish getting cleaned up down here, and then I can make something for us both to eat. Sound good?"

(9:34:05 PM) SeianVerian: Let's see... Need to mop up the  blood on the floor, clean off the table, sterilize tools... Probably a good deal else. Still, once it's done, I let out a satisfied huff. "Hah. Finally done. Now we can figure out what to eat. Maybe leftovers from dinner earlier..."

(9:37:49 PM) SeianVerian: "Well, I'm sure you'll be happy to learn that there's quite a bit left to eat. Come on." I wave for him to follow as I walk upstairs, and into the kitchen.
(9:38:22 PM) SeianVerian: I speak as I get everything out and start heating it up again. "I tend not to make small meals, even though I live on my own. This'd probably be enough to last me a couple more days normally, but I think we've both earned the right to finish this off."
(9:40:08 PM) SeianVerian: Carbonara, roast beef... Even as leftovers, it should be pretty obvious that it was a pretty nice meal.
(9:43:14 PM) Charun_: You are very suprised to mind out that he easily helps you finish off the remainder of the food.   He then excuses himself to go downstairs and checkup on your patient he only asks for a blanket and a pillow

(9:45:20 PM) SeianVerian: Blanket and a pillow... Easy enough. I'll give it to him, and then go to check on my dogs. Been a couple hours, so I can make sure they don't need to go out or anything. Though, hm... Might be time to feed them, actually

(9:47:45 PM) SeianVerian: Take care of all that, probably hug and pet them a bit. Then I'll go work on writing for a little while. Probably have some roleplays and stuff to catch up on...
(9:49:57 PM) Charun_: you find you are really tired.  the surgery earlier was very draining and after about two hours you call it a night
(9:50:28 PM) Charun_: you wake up in the morning to the smell of coffee brewing and the smell of what you think is pancakes
(9:52:21 PM) SeianVerian: Eagh, coffee... Why do I even have a coffeemaker around anyway? Even if it was a gift, there must have been some reason not to sell it... Oh well. Pancakes are a nice smell at least. Get up and head into the kitchen.
(9:53:03 PM) Charun_: once you get downstairs you find it is in fact french croisants, sweadish pancakes with whipped cream filling and bacon.

(9:54:46 PM) SeianVerian: Aah, tea. Rather more tolerable than coffee. "Well, this is a nice surprise. You always eat like this, or only after... You know. Saving lives."

(9:58:35 PM) SeianVerian: "Ah, cool. Maybe I'll stop by there sometime. I promise I tip well, even if that doesn't get back to you." My tone's pretty light as I say it. As tense as last night was, I'm mostly in a pretty good mood.

(9:59:46 PM) SeianVerian: "Hm?" Sort of a sudden detail to share, though hardly unwelcome. "Where did you work before that?"
(9:59:58 PM) Charun_: "he tends to do that once you have been in once place for too long, in my case 42 years in florida."

(10:02:19 PM) SeianVerian: "Forty-two years... Being a werewolf comes with a pretty long life then, huh? You don't look near that old, and I think I recall a mention that Daniel was quite old as well..."
(10:02:51 PM) SeianVerian: "Surprised you could stay in one place even that long if you don't age though. Tend to move around the state a bit before you move on entirely?"
(10:03:41 PM) Charun_: yes you never stay in one neighborhood too long, you tend to only make friends with your own kind."
(10:06:49 PM) SeianVerian: "Hm. I'd think it might be fairly lonely, but at least you probably have ways of finding each other, don't you? Still... Well, I guess it's probably not any worse than any story you hear about immortals. In fiction." Added on as an afterthought as if it needed to be. "Anyway, mind if I have any of that stuff?" Though I'll forgo that question if there's already a plate out on the table for me or something.

(10:12:18 PM) SeianVerian: Mm, very nice breakfast... Though actually, probably gonna be interrupted by the dogs unless they're rolled over on their backs because of werewolf presence.

(10:20:50 PM) SeianVerian: "Honestly, I tend to feed them whenever they wake me up. I hardly need an alarm clock with them around..." Shake of my head. "You probably got me an extra hour or two of sleep, actually. Thanks, really. Think I sort of needed it."
(10:21:54 PM) Charun_: no problem, our patient is still sleeping but I expect he will wake the first time later today,  he will heal faster in lupine form than human."
(10:23:32 PM) SeianVerian: "Hm, that's good to know. I hope the recovery isn't too painful for him... Then again, it seems like he has an incredible pain tolerance anyway. Still hard to believe he was awake that whole time and didn't even flinch."

(10:28:47 PM) SeianVerian: "Ah, I see... Come to think of it, the Marrok seemed to be talking to him the whole time. Was that actually like a chant to focus his abilities, or was he really just talking?" I finish up my meal and stand up, going to rinse the dishes off. ...Then I stop. "Oh, that's right... I still need to feed the dogs though."

(10:30:41 PM) SeianVerian: I feed the dogs, finish getting dressed, and head to work with... Might be kind of cutting it close. How far away is it anyway?
