- >Had you known just how this day was going to go, you’d have never answered that Help Wanted offer for a “lab assistant” in the first place. Hell, you probably wouldn’t have even gotten out of bed.
- >Deciding to show up early to give a good first impression to this Peridot person, you were surprised to find this supposed “lab” in such a messy condition.
- >Spare parts, unfinished creations strewn about the floor, and several crumpled balls of paper piled around a small wastebasket. Fuck, the only thing in this “lab” that was remotely clean beyond the top shelves was a very neat, very clean stack of DVDs for some shitty tween camping show on a desk by a laptop decorated with several corny stickers.
- >Seems the person who had set out that offer wasn’t here yet, and since they didn’t leave a phone number of any sort, you decided to just wait until they came. Hopefully they wouldn’t be too pissed with you.
- >After maybe an hour of waiting, and still no sign of your potential employer, you leaned up against a small shelf covered with seemingly broken machines, your hand resting upon a small device.
- >Unfortunately, it seemed that one wasn’t actually as broken as it appeared, because as your fingers brushed over some controls, your head was assaulted with a splitting headache. You grasped your head as you felt everything spin, from the room, to your brain inside your head. You felt nauseous, and had your breakfast consisted of anything more than a piece of toast and small glass of juice, it would have gone up and out of you. Not being able to take the barrage of awful and strange sensation of your whole body being compressed, you fall to the ground and curl up into a ball.
- >You laid there for, you really couldn’t tell how long you had been laying on the ground. An hour? Two hours? It really didn’t matter much to you. But what did matter, was when you heard very loud tremors begin. They sounded distant, but were getting closer.
- >Deciding that getting up and dealing with the nausea was better than waiting for whatever was the source of those incoming vibrations, you slowly got to your feet. Did this floor suddenly become a lot cleaner?
- >As your head clears, your nauseous stomach gets a lead ball dropped straight through it as your eyesight finally clears.
- >Everything was gigantic! No, you were tiny!
- >”Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck...” You mutter repeatedly as you gawk at the new perspective this size gave you. From the log like screws that littered the floor, to the shelves that could rival some of Empire City’s tallest skyscrapers.
- >You were so busy staring at everything around you that the approaching tremors had totally slipped your mind.
- >That was, until,
- >”OH MY STARS!”
- >You clamped your hands over your ears as the sudden voice hit you harder than a runaway semi. Quickly turning to the source of the voice.
- >Your eyes went wide at the sight before you. In front of you, was an absolutely titanic green girl, staring down at you with a just as surprised expression on her own face.
- >The two of you just stared at each other for a moment or two, not entirely sure what to make of the other. That was, until the green alien with the dorito shaped hair squatted down, reaching for you.
- >Immediately you took off in the opposite direction as fast as your puny legs could carry you. Probably not the best way to get a solution to your significantly reduced stature, but you were still very new to this, and the thought of accidentally being crushed in a person’s palm was not very appealing.
- >The girl’s loud voice boomed much louder above you, “HEY! WAIT!” And within seconds you felt like the San Andreas fault was shifting as this who you assumed to be Peridot gave chase.

- >Quickly diving under one of the shelves, you just barely missed the lime hands curling into a fist. Dust and link quickly covers the shirt you had been wearing as you slide on the floor. Quickly getting up to your feet as you back up away from the cave-like space beneath this wooden shelf.
- >”WAIT! DON’T BE AFRAID!”
- >You and Peridot once again make eye contact as she crouches down, almost laying on the floor, as she tried to find you.
- >The two of you remain silent for a minute or two looked at each other, bits of you were scared, other bits wanted you to listen to her, and the rest wanted to curl up into a ball again until you woke up in your bed, normal sized.
- >”CAN YOU COME OUT?” Peridot’s otherwise sweet voice sounded off, quickly making you cover your ears. Quickly, the green Dorito picked up on what was going on.
- >”Oh!” UMM... Is, this better for you?” She said, much softer than she had before.
- >She was still loud, but at least you weren’t under threat of going deaf.
- >Quickly nodding, a small, soft smile curled around her lips.
- >”Alright, you’re probably scared and confused right now. So I’ll let you take your time. But I do want to help you!” The alien girl reassured you as she slowly sat up. Leaving you alone in the dusty, dark space nobody should be able to get under.
- >Needless to say, you were pretty quick to get out from under the shelf.
- >Now here you were, laying in the palm of Peridot’s hand as you explained what had happened to you.
- >Or, at least, tried to.
- >”Um, I can’t really hear you that well. Could you speak up a bit?”
- >After another run through of your story, Peridot’s kind smile grew.
- >”Well, that shouldn’t be too ‘big’ of a problem, I know exactly where tha-“ She didn’t get to finish her sentence as her eyes quickly found the creation that had caused this problem. Or at least, what was left of it.
- >But quick to turn the situation around, Peridot quickly explained that she could have it fixed in no time, and you’d be back to normal. It’d just take, maybe a week? At least, that’s what she said.
- >”I guess you can stay with me till I get this fixed Anon! Have you ever watched Camp Pining Hearts?”
- >You were in for a long week, weren’t you?
