Ruth- HOL

Name: Ruth Garcia

Alias: "The Beauty Diamond" ~ The name was given to her by her mother when she was applying for the academy. Although Ruth at first, thought that the name felt very cheesy due to it sounding kiddish, but in the end, she thought that it could be useable since she does turn an ordinary object into something pretty. Ruth, going along with her mother's idea for a alias, put it on her application. So, being "The Beauty Diamond" did not sound bad, and she would not mind being called that, besides her real name.

Age: 16

Power: Beauty Manipulation- She had this power when she was a little girl. This power can detect something that's ordinary and "old" and whenever Ruth touches the object, the object can turn modern or pretty. She has used this power plenty of times in her life, especially when she was little, and she even turned her outfits into something nice. At first, when using the power, she thought it would be useless to help when being a heroine, but thought it would come in handy in case her classmates are either having an outfit malfunction or if having a bad hair day. Hopefully, at the academy, the power would not be able to be simplistic as she wants this power to be used as an advantage instead of changing objects or "bad outfits" all the time, or else her powers would simply be useless in a heroic situation.

Occupation: She's currently in the "All Star Academy" as a student. She doesn't mind the lessons from one of many lessons from the place, and while she thought the place would be a good fit, she just hoped that she would be able to learn all she could. While being at the school, she did learn amongst others, thinking that her expectations were higher than expected, when applying for the academy originally. She does hope in the end, that as a student that being in the academy was worth it, since, she does, of course, want to protect others, besides changing outfits all the time.

Personality: Although Ruth may come off as snobby at first due to her appearance, she does try to be nice to her fellow classmates or any other citizens. She is one of those girls who does know a thing or two about the difference between goof fashion and, when using her power, she does at least try to use it for a good demonstration. She does try her best to at least use her power to show that because someone had a bad hair day, does not mean that it could be able to be fixed in a day, so, she at least tries to help by using it. Ruth is also very studious, yet kind to those who try to interact with her. She sometimes get annoyed by those who poke fun of her alias she originally thought it was childish before going along with it. Whenever she is not doing schoolwork, she is either at the shopping district shopping for herself, or reading magazines, that are based on fashion or ways to improve herself. So, whenever interacting with other people, she does talk a lot about her power, or sometimes about on her love for fashion, but not that often. She can sometimes have her head stuck in a magazine so, she may not respond right away. She is also not shy to fight back if someone is an argument with her, or talks about her heroine name. She does have a dream of working for a fashion company, so, she sometimes works on her own clothing on the side in her parent's house. She's not a showoff when it comes to her clothing, as she does not mind having someone borrowing her outfits every once in a while. Ruth also while being in the academy, does have expectations when it comes to graduating the academy with full knowledge of her power and it could at least be useful when fighting villains, or else she would end up being someone's sidekick, which she would not mind either. Overall, Ruth is a girl who's studious, yet fun to be around.

History: Ruth, when she was a young girl, did have something unusual that the doctors called her a "gifted human." The doctors explained to Ruth's parents that she does have beauty manipulation, which is a power that one can create, shape, and change beauty out of anything. Ruth first discovered this power when she was a tiny young girl and when she was playing with her dolls. She did become shocked when her doll's clothing went from plain, to having designs on it. Although she did not mind using that power of manipulation, she wondered if she was going to keep it to herself, like her parents advised her to do. So, when she was practicing her power, her parents thought she could be a hero, with those abilities someday. She starred to use it to change her room from a boring color to something her style, which was stripes or polka dots. She also took advantage or using it whenever she thought her outfits were bad or not right. As she was growing into her teens, she dreamed about having her own fashion line and hoped to get into a college which she could learn about the good ways to learn on how to own her own business. So, she started to use her power more, and she thought she could use it to get a good portfolio. When Ruth turned around sixteen years old, she didn't use her power as much since she slowly wanted to be like the other citizens in Steinfield, so, she kept it to herself. One day, when walking into a store in the shopping district, she rediscovered her power once again when buying a new dress. Although buying the dress with the "new laces" was very risky, she still bought it anyway. When she got home, she noticed a flyer mentioning that she could go to a school for those who want to be a hero. Ruth, thinking that her power of changing things from ordinary to pretty would be useless to have when being in a "superhero" like situation; but thought it would be cool to impress people on what she could do with her powers, and would not mind giving off demonstrations. Although she had a bit of low expectations of going to the academy, she was quite curious on what the teachers would do to teach her on using her powers in a way that would be useful instead of changing things. She did question herself on what to do when it came to having an "alias" since she thought it was unnecessary for someone to call her that "nickname." Her mother explained that having an alias is a secret nickname that most heroes are being called by, so incase of a battle with a villain, citizens will know her by that certain name. Ruth understood, and didn't mind the nickname that people would be calling her, until she heard her mother's decision, which was "The Beauty Diamond". She thought it was childish and thought it sounded like a fairy princess name. Her mother then explained that since her power was based on changing things from ordinary to pretty; as she rolled her eyes at the thought of having doubts of getting in due to her power being simplistic. As she filled out the application, she continued to doubt on being accosted into the academy until she got the letter a couple of weeks later. At the end of the day, Ruth had expectations and hope that her power won't be simplistic once she graduates from the academy.
