Good news and bad news, children. The good news is, the small-scale demons did get dealt with: valiant efforts on all contributing, not so equally, to each one's demise -or- retreat. There was a sense of absolute dread in the air, after all. Even they weren't stupid. Something was coming, with that boulder.

Large clawed feet grip the new entryway into the dazzling desert, black as night. A humanoid, if one could even call the giant that emerged that, rose out of the shadow. The head the shape of a deer with long, spiked horns covering its skull in the shape of hair stared at them with glowing red eyes. Tusks shone, and black plating covered its distorted, hunched body.

When it breathes, dark mist spread from its terrible jaws.
Uzumaki, Yuna says: ...
(*Uzumaki, Hanako looked on, frozen in terror while she sat atop Baku. What. The heck. Was that? Was that a Demon? Was that a giant heckin Demon!?!

With hands shaking she slowly retrieved a slip of paper. Then, with a poof of smoke, she launched fifteen shuriken towards its face.

Yep. That was her thing. That was all she could do.*)

"Right... I see how it is...

Oh, Hiro also gave a nod to Yuna from earlier.

For the moment.

"I'm going to need all the people who can use wind near me, I also need people who use fire as well. We're going to combine everything in hopes it does something to deter the demon."

Hiro sort of had a plan. Baku moved closer to Hiro, moving slower than before however. Baku also blew out of his trunk creating an elephant-like sound.

(*Akimichi, Chomichi widens her eyes at the humanoid creature that emerges from the mountainside.. Her hands which grip the bostaff begin to tremble, and for a moment the Akimichi is frozen in place due to the fear that coursed through her body.

Her mouth opens, then closes.. like a fish on dry land. Her breath only goes shallowly into her lungs as she stumbles backward.. What the hell.. was that thing?..

How in the world was she going to deal with.. that..?*)
Tatsuda, Hiro yells: !
Tatsuda, Hiro thinks: Please work, please work, please work.
(*Uchiha, Imai 's flames evaporate much like his wind had prior. This demon is roasted, left as nothing but a pile of ash. Scorched. Ichiro might've been licked by the furious yellow embers, but the damage won't be worth much attention.

And then Imai turns. There's a numbness in the air, it weighs on the Uchiha. A monster reveals itself, it creeps from the mountain, colossal, an unspeakable horror. The Uchiha stumbles to the others, then stands paralyzed. He tries to gulp, but it's hard to swallow.*)
(*Uchiha, Sayuki stares upwards at the massive demon, she has a blank expression of disbelief. She slings a set of seals together while Hiro tries to organize the people, she tries to buy him some time. She inflates her lungs and then spits out a large ball of fire, it soars up straight at the demon's face, and then explodes into an excessively bright series of flares, like a firework. She hoped it would blind it for a moment, and let Hiro organize an attack.*)
Uchiha, Sayuki flashes a perk: Firefly.
Tatsuda, Hiro thinks: please people.. aaaah.
(*Momochi, Victoria woke up with a feeling of dread. She had no idea what was going on but she felt the cold dry air, suggesting that they were out of the mines. She was about to open her mouth to figure out what was going on when she stopped and turned her head to where the feeling was comming from. Something was there, something bad.

As she got up she'd place her hand on the side of the cave and break down apart of the rock wall, allowing it to flow over her body. Everything told her that she couldnt play around. Whatever this was, it was serious. It gave her an eary feeling, similar to what she felt when that demon took her sight years ago.

Walking forward, the woman would keep her ears open.

"Oi, Seifer, Ryuji, Yuna. . . Where are ya?" she'd ask trying to find her squads wearabouts as she kept most of her attention on where the eary feeling was comming from. All of her senses would be focused there like a cornered animal, ready to strike should whatever it was got close.*)
(*Seifer || "Careful!"

He had been waiting for this. The promise he had made to himself. Be in man or beast. The next demon that showed itself was his. He remembered it. Burried the idea of that into the core of his being. The laughter he had faced from the Shinobi. Being called a disgrace to the name of the Samurai.

His sword unsheathed before he could even tell his arm to; his body acting on reflex at this point.

It seemed that everyone had been frozen in fear... Seifer? He couldn't deny it. He was scared. Scared out of his damn mind, in fact! More scared than anyone else here, he could argue! But that fear is what was driving him currently. The fear of defeat pained him down to his very core. It wasn't something that he was going to ignore. He couldn't run. His legs wouldn't let him.

"Demon! But don't worry! They thrive on your fear! That's why..."

He felt something inside of him burn. Stress. Fear. The pounding in his chest.

"That's why us Samurai steel ourselves to fight them!"

Chi flowed into his blade. A vibrant display of power. His Chi wasn't nearly as strong as Fuzens. Or Suzumes. He couldn't cut chakra, or wield four swords at once. He'd fall over if he tried to pick up a Zanbato and the armor Suzume wore would leave him breathless after a few steps. He wasn't a Samurai.

But he'd call himself one.

He'd lie as he swung his blade, carving a path through the air and sending a Chi slash right towards the Demon. It'd sail through the air, the chi detaching itself from his blade and going right for its face! Seifers aim was true... the flash of Chi being pretty fast. If the Demon didn't dodge, it'd eat pure light!

(*Uchiha, Sayuki attatches herself to Hiro, producing a soft 'tsss' sound and a glimmer of light.*)
It was ineffective. For a while, it was ineffective. The beast slowly pulled itself out, and dropped with a terrifying slam into the sand below. Shuriken scattered about it, and didn't even register. Only its nose rose, sniffing the air. The terrible omen of death was over them, as large strands of black apprendages, tendrils, rose off the creature's shoulders - like remnants of what could have been wings, at one point.

It slowly meandered over - and then Seifer struck. Not chakra, but chi. The power splashed against the beast, only a shallow cut forming along the beast's chin. The energy literally splashed off, and slowly, slowly, did it turn to stare down Seifer.

Then it was there, in front of him. Sand billowed up everywhere as it hunched over, a titan of a creature staring into Seifer's eyes. Its hand shifted.. and the blur of a punch struck - crushing strength to smack square into Seifer's torso and send him flying.

Boss Status: Taunted.
(*Tatsuda, Hiro The demon was closer than he thought. Well at least for a bit it didn't move. Hiro moved Yuna aside and stood back. Hiro went through seven hand seals quickly as possible. The fight had honestly been going on for quite a long time, and while there was a sense of dread, Hiro had to get it out of his mind. He's fought demons before. This was nothing new. Hiro began to inhale and while he was doing this Baku moved around.

Hiro exhaled creating a tornado in a matter of seconds. Well at least it resembled one. The tornado was sent forward towards the Abyss Walker, ripping up sand easily from the ground below. Hiro put as much power into the jutsu as possible, nothing held back. The demon had to take serious damage for it to go down, and he hoped that this woudl work.

"Everyone get out of the way!" he shouted, "Anybody who can use fire on the tornado! It'll make it stronger!"*)

(*Uzumaki, Hanako simply clung onto Baku's back while he moved away! Nope. She couldn't doa  heckin thing. Except shoot more shuriken! And this she would do, lifting her other prepared slip of paper to fire out fourteen more!

But it wasn't aimed towards the Demon. Instead she fired it into the tornado while she moved away atop the elephant, hoping to let them buzz around within the mass of wind to add just a little more killing power!*)

Uzumaki, Yuna's grade: C-
(*Uchiha, Imai rests his sharingan on the beast, red eyes gauge the goliath. The envy of all horrors, the early silver moon shines it's light upon it's wing-like black tendrils. The goliath attacks in a blur. Imai's eyes shoot wide.

The only solace to be found in this situation is Hiro's abrupt tornado, kicking up sand, roaring towards the behemoth.

Imai finishes handseals. Red flames flicker and ignite Hiro's jutsu, kindling it. Yellow showers about, the fire grows vastly more intense. A great blaze, a deadly cyclone of flames now races for the titan. It's heat's so intense as to distort the air around it, "Take that, demon!" he exclaims.*)
(*Akimichi, Chomichi manouvers a trembling hand backward.. toward the case which contained her three colored pills. She gulps as the massive demoning entity emerges from within the depth of the mountainside. Air fills the depths of her lungs as she removes the spinach pill from the case and places it within her mouth.

She was going to need the boost in strength..

Crunch.

The spinach pill is eaten and swallowed.

There's a surge of power within her body as fat deposits are rapidly converted into chakra and energy. Her physical strength increases, her bodily resilience as well.

She takes a moment to steel herself for what she's about to do.. And then her body moves in it's own accord. Her arms swing, bringing her bostaff crashing down toward the head of the gigantic demonic entity with her now monstrous strength. She stands in a place where the smaller guys are positioned near her feet.

She retracts the bostaff, and brings it about for yet another thwack, this time with the express purpose behind it to send the torso of the being crashing into the mountainside from which it'd emerged.

Fear sat as a lump deep within her gut. It was a almost deafening. But she fought with a need to protect..

The techniques would be able to be executed from their position at her feet without her body coming into harms way.
She was doing what she had to do.. Chuunin exams be damned, she had to use the pills to help protect everyone.*)

Uchiha, Imai flashes a perk: Katon: Goukakyuu.
(*Of course, after snapping out of her fearful state, Yuna does her part in trying to add more fuel to the raging, fiery cyclone.
She focuses her chakra, and then claps her hands together.

From there, a mighty burst of wind flies forward and into the tornado, most likely increasing the intensity of the flames, even if it is by a small amount.

(*Uchiha, Sayuki weaves through the seals once more, there wasnt much she could do in the slightest, there was no way in fuck she could fight that thing, she didnt have large scale jutsu, she was designed for taking down people, not massive beasts. She spits out the same jutsu as before, hoping to provide some assistance to her fellows and hopefully at the very least throw off the demon's aim a little. She shoots another bright explosive flare into the demon's face, hoping to blind it and hinder its aim for the next attack, as it was covered in extremely bright hovering lights.*)
Uchiha, Sayuki flashes a perk: Firefly.
(*Matsui, Ichiro panted heavily, rising from the body of the dead centipede. His leg was still bleeding a bit, and sweat caked his forehead from fear. That whole last manuever had worn him out. And now there was this. A larger, stronger demon than the rest.

He could almost feel the whimper rising in his throat, watching the rest of his group charge in. He didn't really know how he could help, his small repetoire of techniques.

Still, he had to help somehow. Seeing Hiro and Imai's combination attack, the boy did the best he could. His hands flicked through several small handseals, before raising one hand up to his lips.

"Fuuton: Daitoppa!"

Ichiro pursed his lips, exhaling a massive stream of wind towards the tornado. Hopefully it'd get caught up in the more skilled wind user's technique, fueling the force and heat of the flames. This was the most the young genin could offer at the time. Hopefully it'd be enough.*)

It was coming right at him. Everyone was setting themselves up to fight. He could tell from the way it was acting; from the way it seemed to heave its movements. An inkling of fear coming through to him. The intensity of a Demons aura facing him. The Abyss Walker. He couldn't breathe. He couldn't hesitate for a moment.

His sword stretched out in front of him. Bracing himself into the dirt.

The wind was wipping around him now. The entire world seemed to slow itself. His hair moving in the winds of the tornado, every bit of his heart felt like it was going to explode. He could see the Demon moving towards him now, every moment of this being burned into his eyes. They say the most important moments in your life feel like they're in slow motion. Seifer just wished his eyes could keep up a bit more.

As the Demon charged at him, its fist would meet steel first. Seifers last effort to defend himself being to simply hold his sword out in front of him. The result of this? As the Abyss Walkers fist followed through with its punched, the sword would stab into its knuckles. Then the bottom of his own hilt would slam into Seifer, damn near threatening to stab right through him. The sword pings off into the distance at this.

The jutsu ignites. The fist connects.

A whirlwind of fire, with Seifer and the Demon right there in the midst of it. He feels something in his chest crack. Everything around him is dark. He can't feel a damn thing. Seifers body is sent flying backwards; crashing into the sands and skirting across the desert untilt it slams into the caves outer wall. Smoke rises from his body, the flickering embers of the flaming tornado illuminating the image of what's closer to a corpse than a kid.*)
Seifer has been knocked out.
