My name is x. I have x during 4th block for Algebra 1. I am contacting you to get your advice on a problem that is preventing x from doing her best in the class.

The problem I am having is her phone. I am having trouble getting her to put it down long enough at any point in class. She is not paying attention during the lesson as she is on her phone. She doesn’t try to do the work as she is on her phone. She is using her phone and an app called PhotoMath to cheat on any work she does complete which is not helping her when it comes time for tests.

Any advice you could give on how to help x overcome this problem would be greatly appreciated. The phone usage has gotten to the point that if it doesn’t change, there will have to be consequences, the first of which will most likely be a referral. The best way to contact me back is at x.
